so disappointed last night. we went for loaded baked potato’s but were informed when we asked, that they were«out», and not only of potato’s, but of ham, kids drink cups but hey we could choose to purchase a large… UMM nope I think not. also no ice cream, ham creamed spinach, and brisket on my salad which was fatty, way more then normal. almot 30.00 for barely ok food. won’t be back for a very very long time.

If they served Rudy’s out of a school cafeteria, this is what you’d end up with. Here you’ll find familiar enough flavors in the sauces, sausage, and mac & cheese, but you’ll just end up wishing you had waited in that long and oh-so-worth-it line up the freeway. Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations before I got there, just based on word-of-mouth. But then the smell of the sauce and the nice-enough kid at the counter almost convinced me otherwise. That all changed when I tried it. The short of it is this: it’s overpriced and will disappoint even amateur purists looking for a quick fix on a Monday or after 3pm. It’s not unbearable like the place by the airport, but it’s a long, long way from Lockhart.

There food is amazing and fresh when you walk in to get a plate. Personally all of their BBQ Sauce is pretty good, but I can eat all of their food without the sauce. The beans, mac & cheese, greens and buttered bread rolls are delicious. I love your BBQ Pulled Pork, Slice Beef and will try the ribs next time.

This place should be ashamed to call itself a bbq joint. Flavorless, unsmoked meats, and bland sides. And they are quite proud of it all, judging by the prices. Rudy’s has it all over this crappy place. Even Spring Creek is better, and that’s not saying much.

Today, Sunday, May 17th, 2015, my family and I went to the Dickey’s location on Louetta and i-45 in Spring, TX at around 2:00 p.m. The store was busy and the service was slow, which is understandable with it being a Sunday afternoon. While we were waiting my special needs child started making noise. The three male employees behind the counter started making fun of her and making rude comments about things my child can not control. One male employee suggested I was a bad parent because I didn’t «strip her down and spank her bare ass in front of everyone» for acting up. It is hard enough taking a special needs child out anywhere, it makes it even harder when you have to defend her from being bullied by «grown» men. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the names of the three employees. Noticeably frustrated, I proceeded to the checkout after completing our order. While checking out the female cashier did not ask if we were dining in the restaurant, she assumed we were taking it to-go(in other words, rushing us out of the establishment), she also«forgot» one of our items and then double-charged us for said item. Needless to say, my family and I will not EVER be returning to your establishment. I do not expect a refund. I do however, expect my child to be treated as a human being. Just because she is «different» does not mean she deserves to be disrespected. I do hope that appropriate action is taken in repremanding said employees for their unacceptable behavior.

Horrible! The meat was tough and dry and barely warm. The customer service was lackluster and left much to be desired. We will not return.

Love this place. Good food. And if you are a teacher and have your teachers id you get a discount.

Unbearably cold in this RESTURANT! I asked them if their heater was broken and they said no. If your customers aren’t comfortable they won’t come back!

I really like the bar b que. Very friendly service. They have 3 different sauces. I like the sauce. I take away one star because every time I come here, the service is very slow. Everyone is nice and the food is excellent. I just wish they could be a little more efficient.

Went here for lunch and got the three meat plate(im a very indecisive person). The restaurant was clean. The food was Okay. Rudys across the street is WAY better. So as I mentioned I had the three meat plate that consisted of sausage, turkey, and the brisket. The only thing that was remotely good was the sausage. Everything else was very dry. The sides were pretty good I’ll admit. The sides that I had were Mac and cheese and their onion rings. The only thing worth going for would be their lunch special for a sandwich. A pulled pork sandwich by itself is almost seven bucks. So it is a bit pricey.

I cook all my barbeque myself. I pride myself in perfecting my recipes and techniques. I just can’t bring myself to buy restaurant barbeque. However… my wife brought Dickeys Barbeque home the other day after an «I don’t care what we have for dinner argument.» I was impressed beyond words. Perfect sliced beef. Delicious Texas Style barbecue sauce. Spicy delicious sausage. Even the potatoe salad was off the chain. Being the prideful person I am, I made a mental note that Dickeys got lucky. Then, last night she brought it home again, as my pit gathers rust. Equally amazing experience. This is how barbeque should be cooked. This is my first Unilocal,as no other restaurant has proven yep worthy in my opinion. Kudos to Dickey’s and their amazing gourmet barbeque!

Don’t kid yourself. Dickey’s is barely BBQ. Steam tables are not what you want to see in a BBQ joint. Skip this place, and go to Rudy’s instead.

Great food and great staff. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable with the menu and genuinely seemed to have pride in their product. I had a baked potato with the chopped brisket. Very tasty without a lot of fatty chunks, like most chopped beef sandwiches. My husband had the 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket. The ribs literally fell off the bone. Will definitely be headed back for more. Oh, and be sure you try the fried tanglers on the potato, or on pretty much anything. Very nice.

We arrived after 7 pm on Fathers Day. We were informed at door that they had run out of many items. We stayed anyway as they still had pulled pork. Sauce was good, staff very friendly. We were given cards for 2 free sandwiches.

Nice spot, ribs were well seasoned and tender. The night I went(NYE), the service was pretty good. The MUSTARD potato salad was good, but the DILL potato salad was AWFUL. They were out of a few things, but they had everything I wanted.

Very good food. Staff is very nice. I’ve been there twice had the mini hoagie, sliced brisket. Meat is not dry and bbq sauce is awesome. Jalapenos are delicious if you like crispy and spicy. I will be back since I only work around the corner. I will try there bake potato next time.

Maybe we went on a bad night. We were going to get our usual brisket from Rudys but decided to give this place a shot. I ordered an lb. of brisket ½ lb of sausage and a baked potato. When I got home, we discovered that our potato was missing. That was strike one. The brisket was Strike 2. It was so dry that we didn’t even want to eat more that one sandwich and we had to drench it in BBQ sauce. Strike 3 was when I called about my baked potato. All they said was to come back in and pick it up. It was over 5 miles. I was at least expecting an apology.

I had a craving for some sliced brisket and this place is new and has been recommended to me by some coworkers so I decided to give it a go. I had the single meat plate with 2 sides and a drink and it came out to $ 13.21, a couple of bucks more than other places but no biggie. Sliced Brisket(3.5÷5): Lean with just the right amount of marbling, a bit on the dry and bland side. I would say it’s a little above average(some of the other area BBQ joints serve a very fatty and poor quality brisket). BBQ Beans(4⁄5): Nothing special, tasted fine, they where a bit on the cold side. Biscuit(5⁄5): Delicious, excellent flavor! Potato Wedges(5⁄5): Fresh out of the frier, crispy, very good! BBQ Sauce(4⁄5): I found them to be a little watery/thin for my personal taste but they did have 3 distinct styles/flavors to choose from which I like. Drink/Service(5⁄5): Their ice tea tasted very good, I love their sonic style ice(increased surface area makes drinks cold almost instantly!). Overall the service was solid, prompt and friendly. I want to see this place improve their brisket,(juicier with some flavor) but overall not bad at all. I will definitely come back and try our their other meats and sides. Considering the meat is the most important part of the BBQ and was not as impressive as I had hoped(but still ok!), my overall rating is:(3.5÷5) but I’ll give it 4 Unilocal stars because they deserve more than 3! Also ice-cream is included with all meals.

Saw that this place was local and hadn’t been reviewed so I hit the gym, got hungry and headed here. I’m here as i write this. Looks like a clean, well put together restaurant. Got the 1 meat plate with Polish Sausage, Cole slaw, potato salad, and a roll. The roll was awesome. Soft, moist, buttery, slightly salted. I put a few slices of the sausage on it and BAM! My mouth was like, «Dude you rock!» The sausage was good. Typical Polish so there isn’t too much to say there. Lol … apparently customers stare at you when you take pics of your food and write posts. Drink it in dude! The potato salad is where they lost a star. It is bought. You know when the eggs are like rubber and there are perfect potato balls. Screams processed, not freshly made. The Cole slaw was good. Another item that can easily be made fresh but it was good so no arguments here. Pros: good meat, clean, friendly staff, moderately priced for a good amt of food. Cons: Some of the food doesn’t taste fresh. Conclusion: I’d like to try more of the menu and sides so I’ll be back.
