Spec’s Wine & Spirits

It’s kinda small but their wine selection is not too bad. The employees are very nice and helpful and a lot of times the have little wine samples set up. The location is very convenient, it is just outside my neighborhood and super close the freeway.

I used to go to this Spec’s quite often but I have simply had enough of their low brow disrespectful negative attitudes. They aren’t «just plain cheap»…they are «just plain rude!» I don’t know what they want; credit card or cash??? When you pay by credit card they rudely treat you like you are trying to screw them and charge you more. So I went in today and paid with cash… I guess they don’t like that either. I was greeted by a Large Lazy Black fella (name tag said Mike and «Customer Service»…what a joke) who let out a huge sigh when I approached the register. Bill was $ 21.53 so I gave him a $ 100 bill, a $ 1 bill and 53 cents… he looked at the $ 100 bill and said «got any thin smaller», which I replied «Sorry no». Well he did not like that and let out another huge sigh and started to slowly (and I do mean slooooowly) shuffle thru the cash register, look up with a discussed face, and shuffle thru the register some more. Suddenly he stops, picks up the $ 100 bill and looks at it every which way but Sunday (as if this lazy fool would be able to tell the difference) then looks at me again with that nasty look and puts together $ 80 in 10’s, 5’s and 1’s. I guess I forgot to mention it was not 10am, but 4pm and he had to have at least 4/​$ 20’s in the drawer. No thank you, no come again sir, no have a nice day, no nothing. Remember, all I did was hand him a $ 100 bill and say «Sorry no». Last $ 100 bill they will get from me and should get from you. I did not catch them on a «Bad day» and if you have been to this Spec’s before, I’m sure you have been treated the same way. I am by no means special and neither is their selection, prices or people!

Two stars for selection. That’s about the only positive about this store. Every time I leave here I am sorry I came and I have decided that I will not go back.
Their prices are not as low and one might believe. My neighborhood ma and pa has my stuff for cheaper even on a credit card.
The main reason I will not go back in is because, while the floor people seem friendly and courteous, the check out counter girl (s) is not. I love it when people make the effort to shine a little and absolutely will not forgive a chronic sourpuss. I have never gotten a smile out of a couple of girls there and I always wonder how they feel so secure in their jobs.

First time to a Spec’s. Woo hoo, Capt. Morgan on sale! $ 19.99 1.75L need I say more?

I visit this Spec’s all the time. It is close to my house and a short drive away. Like all Spec’s this one has a huge selection of wine, spirits and beer. On the most recent trip I picked up some Tequila, mixes and some cake flavored vodka. The staff here is always helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. I am overwhelmed by the selection here and spend a lot more time deciding on what to get than at a normal liquor store. If Spec’s does not have what you are looking for, something is wrong.
