Although I’ve only had the Outdoorsman, this place is great! Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff is great and your food will be out as quick as you ordered it. Definitely will come back here if I’m ever in Padre again.

This is the first place I ate fajitas, probably around 1978 – 1980. Still the best, can’t wait to go back.

Found this little place on the main drag not far from my hotel on the way to the world bird center so I stop for breakfast. And I’m glad I did. Very friendly service I saw one review that complain the restaurant was dirty, it is not dirty it’s old and family owned not a chain. However not dirty, the service was very friendly and efficient the food is good, not great .it’s homestyle food nothing fancy but tasted good, could be a lot better but hey South Padre Island is definitely not known for its great restaurants as many resort areas suffer from excellent restaurants due to the fact that large numbers of people come and go .lots of locals stop by and eat here. I enjoyed my breakfast, I had waffle with pecans and a light breakfast of one egg cooked the way I like it, over easy and a sausage patty some Homestyle potatoes and what they called a biscuit was really a roll, so I didn’t eat it but I enjoyed my breakfast and since it was Christmas eve and everybody was in good spirits I gave each of the staff a $ 20 bill and they very much appreciate it

Good local restaurant for breakfast. Food was good and service was fine. The Denny’s had a 30 minute wait to sit and another 30 minutes for your food. It also had 10 tables empty because of lack of staff. We eat local whenever possible they seem to care more.

Very good. The huevos rancheros, breAkfast tacos, pecan pancakes and homemade hot sauce were delicious. We’ll definitely be back again tomorrow.

Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Prompt service. We came at lunch break during a conference we were attending on the island. We were looking for quick and not too expensive. We got both. The food is comparable to any $ restaurant. I have a bacon, cheese burger. Hubby had the roast beef. My burger was juicy and hot. His RB was just«okay». It’s deli meat on bread. Nothing to write home about but when eating at a $ one must review it as such. If your expecting $$$ food for a $ price, this is not the place. All in all it was a decent experience.

Ted’s has very good pecan pancakes. Crisp on the edges, like ma used to make, with loads of crunchy chopped pecans. The huevos rancheros was okay. nothing to write home about. Our server said they get tortillas delivered everyday from what I assume is a local maker. Beans were good, and the over-medium eggs were just fine. Funny thing is that their«spicy» salsa was Pace Picante sauce hehe

Dont do it. Restaurant was very dirty. Food was terrible. Even Dennys is better than here and I’m not a Dennys fan. My husband ordered eggs with biscuits and gravy. I had French Toast. I think everything was bought frozen and warmed up. Nothing homemade. Definite don’t waste your time or money. There are plenty of options on the island far superior that we won’t be back.

Secret local favorite! This is the place to go if you want a good breakfast at a reasonable price, with the friendliest staff on the island. My ranchers huevos were perfect and their coffee is good!

In a word… average. We got here just before the rush, so seating was not an issue, but it went down from there. The service was adequate, the menu was limited, the flavor was ok, and the serving sizes were less than desired. I had the fajita and egg. She had the two egg omelette. Not impressed, but not disappointed. If you want an average place with average service and average food, this is your place!

Great hole in the wall place for breakfast nothing fancy inside or outside as it’s located right next fishing guide place so can be a lil busy with the fishing guys. We were in there about 9ish and they had a lil crowd. Staff was fast and friendly and got that first cup of coffee to ya quick. I had the ham and eggs, eggs over easy and they were cooked just right, wife had breakfast taco and was pleased by 10am the mom and dads with kids started showing up so can get a lil noisy in there but all in all it was a Good breakfast will have to try there lunch next time.

We decided to try Ted’s today for lunch, I had noticed most reviews were over breakfast, but decided to take a chance anyhow. Lunch was great! Not sure why more people don’t mention it. Burger was tasty, and too much for me to eat. My brother tried the philly and said it was really good and really cheesy. Waitress was attentive and friendly, service was fast. What a great little dive.

We loved everything’s we ordered. The service was great and fast. Breakfast was awesome, the pancakes are the best I’ve had in a while. I also really enjoyed the blueberry muffin, though it seemed a bit pricey for a muffin. No specific kids menu, but they were happy to do a half order of anything for my toddler. This is a breakfast and lunch place, closes at 2 p.m. I wish they were open for dinner because we were so happy with our experience.

Great food! The Ted Potatoes are legit! The waitress was really cool, too. Very friendly and personable. The host/busser however, was a troll. But he didn’t ruin our breakfast. ^_^ Can get packed, so go early. Would definitely eat there again.

Ted’s is where the locals eat breakfast. Inexpensive food, great service, order the Good Earth Sandwich.

This little hole in the wall was a decent place to grab breakfast on the island. Really friendly staff. There were a few people in the restaurant when I went, I think most were locals. The food is just ok and they were out of biscuits when I tried to order them, but had stacks of pancakes already made in the back? it didn’t make sense. Weak coffee. Got the Fajita breakfast and it was pretty good. I’m neither here nor there about this restaurant. There are other similar places on the island or close by that I would probably rather go to.

2 star because it was edible –Small place but got lucky and seated right away. — Place has no a/c and if it does it wasn’t on. — NOTHING is homemade here ie: syrup, tortillas, potatoes. — Pancake batter and waffle batter is the same batter based on what the waiter told me. Aka not homemade — Chose this place based on Unilocal reviews; I opted for the«popular» FAJITA plate. Fajita meat was chewy and had some teriyaki/weird sauce on it… Ewww!!! Not a good flavor combo for breakfast. — Salsa is PACE picante sauce from a jar!!! — Hashbrowns tasted like FROZEN cut up soggy french fries. — Beans were GOOD& tasted homemade… surprised those weren’t from a can… — Eggs were cooked to perfection… you cant mess up eggs… or can you? I couldn’t even finish the last taco… that bad. I don’t know why people rated this place a 4 star!!! Are you kidding me??? Stick with Yummies or even Grapevine Café. I think Yummies takes the cake on this island. Not very high expectations on the island when it comes to good quality homemade food. Saw a sign in the restaurant for«awarded best breakfast in 2005» lol! Yeah… ugh no! PS: The tea was good and what I don’t understand is people kept pouring in…:-/

Ted’s is a great spot for breakfast here on the island. It’s a small unassuming interior, after looking at the bright seafoam green exterior. All of the breakfast plates we’ve tried have been good. I usually do the steak fajita plate for breakfast. The eggs are perfectly cooked to order and the potatoes are crispy around the edges. Coffee isn’t anything special unfortunately. The prices are very reasonable as well. Go here!
