During our mini vacay weekend in Port Isabel, we thought we’d cross the bridge to have brunch on the island and every place was packed with over an hour wait. We popped into the unassuming Café Café simply by chance as we were driving by and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The staff was so genuinely kind and warm, the coffee was better than Starbucks and the healthy, Mediterranean style breakfast was delicious. If you’re looking for bacon and pancakes, this place isn’t for you… but if you’re up for an adventure and want a refreshing, light and mainly vegetarian meal to start your day at the beach, then Café Café is the place to go! They even gave my little one a surprise side of gummy bears from their ice cream counter to compliment his muffin… which wasn’t healthy, but we were on vacation, so it was fun! Next time we visit, this will be our go-to breakfast stop :-)

The only Kosher eatery on the Island, you will love the Israeli breakfast served here. My whole family was satisfied with crepes bagels and unique meditteranean flavors. The service may take a while if you have a large order, but, it’s definitely worth the wait! Oh, and the coffees ain’t bad either!

If I could put zero stars I would. I was so excited to go here and get a New York bagel and from all of the pictures it looked amazing. Literally, there were two tables of people in the restaurant when me and two others walked in, so I thought … finally, a place without a wait! There was one person in line in front of us who had come to order a drink and something simple. As we were waiting at the counter, watching drinks and a crêpe being made, everything seemingly calm, all of a sudden the woman(who I am assuming is the owner) starts yelling at us all saying«THEKITCHENISCLOSED, ITISDIRTYANDWENEEDTIMETOCLEAN, IFYOUWANTTOWAIT25MINUTESFORFOODFINE, BUTWEARENOTTAKINGORDERS!» I was appalled. Even in some of the rudest places in Philly, I have never encountered such awful ownership/customer service. If that is how you are going to treat potential customers who are coming to give you business and enjoy the food you prepare, maybe you are in the wrong line of work.

This place is right up my alley they have waffles and crepes! This time I tried the Israeli menu the #4 with the crispy dough with my choice of filling and a bunch of healthy dipping sauces. Awesome! Husband and I also got a cinnamon roll to go and it tasted homemade with love.

Crepes were good. As an avid coffee drinker the coffee here was very bland and weak. Tasted like hot water. The gal at the counter was not as welcoming in comparison to other spi establishments we frequented

This café café has the best«Israeli nes café coffee». I highly recommend you try their«café café» crêpe, it’s caramel heaven. Paris crêpe are yummy and the service is very high quality, you feel like you are home rather than a coffee shop. You won’t find a better place to get your coffee.

Delicious! We went for a quick breakfast and after looking at the menu we decided to stay awhile and dine. The sunny side eggs with Mediterranean sides was amazing and my husband’s crêpe with dulce de leche, walnuts, and bananas was delicious(but not in my diet!).

*FOOD* We ordered 2 veggie omelets(12 $ each) 220oz smoothies(4.95 $ each) crêpe«Vive Le France» 2 of them(8.00 $) Bagel with cream cheese(4.00 $) The food was phenomenal. It came nice and warm. Food was not greasy in fact super healthy. The type of meal you should not feel guilty of consuming. My husband’s bagel came warm with his cream cheese and it is my opinion that this bagel is freshly made not prepackaged(I tasted it, again delicious). My omelet came with sliced french bread, different spreads(Israeli type of bread spreads: mustard honey one, a red paste, a cream paste, 2 types of cheeses) and sliced veggies Pico de Gallo style. My friend and I really enjoyed our omelet. My spouse ordered the crêpe. This crêpe was the bomb!!! It was freshly made on their crêpe device, it had Nutella spread with almond slices, strawberries and bananas. It also came with homemade cream. My husband had real authentic French crepes before and he was able to confirm these crepes rank up there with the French ones. I likes his so much that my friend and I ordered the exact one and shared it. Our smoothies were delicious. Homemade with real fruit. For me the food scored a perfect 5. *PRICEANDCUSTOMERSERVICE * It is pricey, but I have no problem supporting a small family owned café that shells out consistent delicious food. Again, that’s me. To top it off their place was spotless. Just saying. *CUSTOMERSERVICE * Sadly, here is where they missed the mark and why I deducted 1 point. When you usually go to any restaurant and you make eye contact with a server or cashier you are greeted with a smile and with either: Hello may I take your order or I will be with you shortly. There were 2 people there: 1 clearly the owner and the other person her assistant. When we are standing a foot away from the owner(yes she was helping another person) she didn’t acknowledge me or my guests at all. She was too preocuppied helping the other girl… again she was a foot away from me!!! She had her assistant getting milk and other things. When her assistant was done, she just stood there. Again we are there waiting what seemed 4 minutes, again no acknowledgment, no please bare with us, nothing! It was not until a minute or so passed by that the owner prompted for her assistant to take our orders. Again no apology, or anything… she literally grabbed her pad, pen and looked at me. Never during our order did she verified whether the order was together or seperate(including me was my husband and our friend). The assistant was not knowledgeable on the menu. We were reading from the board the smoothies that we selected and it was as if she didn’t understand what we wanted. Here’s the kicker. After I finished my meal, I went over to pay a compliment to the owner. Well, it was as if she doesn’t know how to accept a compliment! Usually when you pay a compliment the owner/manager greets you and tells you how honored they felt you had a great dining experience. Furthermore they tell you how grateful they are for having you as a customer and hopes that later on you can come back again. Well forget that here! After I Payed my compliment she said thank you and kept on walking. Yes exactly that!!! Another thing I wanted to mention is that when my friend ordered her coffee, she said that she could tell the assistant had no real freedom. That is her assistant had to wait to be told on what to do and when to do it. I trust my friends opinion, she and my husband have over 40 yrs of customer service combined and have seen just about everything. So let’s get down to business. This place has the food down. Customer Service is lacking and I am afraid this will potentially ruin them in the long run. I will advice the following to the owners 1. Greet your customers. Either take the order or let them know that you will be with them shortly. Again with a smile! When you get to the customer apologize for the wait and say«what would you like to order»…the whole deer in the headlights is not a good sign for business. Remember the first impression is always the most important one! 2. Make sure to ask if the order is separate or together. 3. Know the menu by heart! 4. Inform the customer how long more or less food will be delivered. 5. To THE Owner. When someone pays you a compliment tell them how grateful you are that we decided you give you business. Tell them how much you appreciate that they enjoyed the food you clearly made with love and attention. Kindly tell them you hope they come here gain And shake their hand!!! I have 17 years of Customer Service experience and this place has none. Their food is delicious and I want their business to grow. But if they don’t follow my humble advice I am afraid they will turn people off and they will close their doors. To the customer. Their food is great although a bit pricey for some. If you can forgive their lack of basic customer service skills, you will enjoy their food.

Wow… what a uniquly different option for the island. We split an Isralie Boraca and a large latte. The breakfast entre came with a bunch of condiments. It was stuffed with spinach and very fresh. I really liked it. The only downside is that this place is expensive. One breakfast item and a coffee was over $ 17.

This wifi café is run by some very kind & talented Israeli, so when they added food to their menu, I was thrilled. I used to live in Israel & I fell in love with their diet. Lots of raw veggie salads heavy on lemon, vinegar & herbs. Café café offers some typical Israeli breakfast offerings. When glancing at the menu it might not seem so different but when you’ve got your egg sandwich in front of you & it’s served with hummus, middle eastern olives/pickles & Harissa(spicy mix), you realize your getting a taste of a different world. Try a barreka, a light flaky crusted pastry stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, cheese or potato; this a special dish straight from the Middle East. Don’t be afraid to dip it in the 6 different dips & salads it’s served with, every bite is a unique flavor! Besides loving their food & the presentation of all the lovely sides, the owners greet & treat you with kindness. I ordered a bagel for my 4yr old daughter & they added candy & strawberries to the top of it! Consideration, specialized food & fresh kosher ingredients makes café café a welcome stop.

Really enjoyed a refreshing light dinner and dessert here. Staff was so nice, place was clean and cozy. Amazing desserts, from crepes to ice cream and baked goods. A nice break from the strip/drag neon. Will certainly go back.

On our summer vacation we came to SPI and on the last day we always go to Yummies to have our lunch but this time the place was packed and we didn’t fell like waiting so we found this small restaurant I’ve heard of before and it was more than we expected. The place is sooo clean and the owner son nice taking care of her business as it must be always. The food was amazing and my kids had the Paris Crêpe and a Hazelnut Frappucino they both were out of this world. My husband and I shared the Struddel for dessert and it wa delicious. I wish them the best of luck ’cause from now on we want to visit this place every time we come to SPI

This little coffee shop did not disappoint. It is clean and well organized. The owner and worker are very friendly! The crepes are absolutely amazing and I have had two different kinds and they did not disappoint! I had an iced mocha which was a little bitter, which was a little disappointing but I will just try a different coffee next time! The breakfast menu looks delicious and I can not wait to come back and try something from the breakfast menu! I highly recommend the crepes!

We just had ice cream and frozen yogurt. They were out of every flavor but chocolate frozen yogurt and ready to close at 10pm. Most places on SPI stay open late during the on-season. The yogurt was pay by the ounce and affordable, the Bluebell was 3.99 a scoop which is pretty shameful, with just 12 run of the mill flavors to choose from we were left wanting.

Café Café is a small Café selling Coffee, things that go with Coffee such as pastries and cookies, in addition to breakfast items and other things. We came across the place during our stay on South Padre Island as we looked for a Coffee shop and we thought very highly enough of the Coffee, Service and accompanying pastry offerings to want to try it as a breakfast option a few days later. On that occasion we had Crepes which were well prepared and simply delicious. Their breakfast menu does go beyond this and have a number of your typical egg based delights though. As for Coffee itself, someone else mentioned it wasn’t that great but both of us felt it was the best Coffee to be found on the island. Given the size of the Café, there is plenty of parking available. Personally I feel that(despite not being a restaurant) this is one of the better places to stop by and eat for breakfast and lunch in the area and really it’s the only Coffee shop worth bothering with. The only feedback I would give to the owners however would be to try and clarify whether the parking is available for the use of the rental business next door. We may be mistaken but given the socializing between the owners of the Café and the place next door, they may be related businesses yet the Café parking/tow signs do state ‘Café only’. While this is for the side street, how it works for the front parking is not clear and the rental business uses the much of their front parking space for their own rental toys. It seemed therefore that to use the rental business meant parking in the Café spaces. We avoided using the rental business because of the risk of towing in the Café spaces, which if they are owned by the same people I’m sure is a situation they probably want to avoid.

Good cup of coffee on South Padre! It’s not the greatest in the world but they do make a good cup of coffee. Lots of flavors to choose from and a pretty good variety of breakfast items too We will return

We really liked this place. The espresso was very good. My wife drank her latte without even adding sugar(for the first time ever) because the coffee was so smooth and not bitter. The crêpe was fantastic. We don’t usually find crepes in the valley so it was very nice. The homemade pastries looked good but we didn’t try one this time. We will on our next visit. The owners were very friendly.
