Family went in to visit and we tried brownies, German chocolate cake, and custard éclair. The brownie and cake were very dry, even the kids didn’t want to eat it. We shared the éclair, but the filling just wasn’t like the old fashion custard we were anticipating. Nice environment and friendly atmosphere. Prices are reasonable.

I married in to a family of first generation Danish immigrants, so Solvang is a home away from home. The staff at this bakery is really great and helpful. They take good care of seated guests along with those who are just grabbing some danishes. I highly recommend the poppy seed and sesame seed hard rolls with Havarti cheese and a hot chocolate! So yummy!

So many pastries… so much to behold! If only I wouldn’t gain a 1000 lbs… We came in here extremely full after lunch but decided to indulge in a pastry. The lady recommended the danish waffle, and it was literally the best treat of my life! The pastry was flaky and airy with just a hint of sweetness, and the cream inside wasn’t too heavy or too light. It was just right! Service here is extremely fast– they know what they’re doing and get it down. They also have a sit down area for food I’m assuming.

I stopped here for a little of a late lunch on a Saturday as I am not really into Danish food(I know, shame on me for going to Solvang and not wanting Danish food, especially since I’m part Danish!). It nice to see some regular«café» foods like soup and salad and sandwiches offered. I got the chicken salad croissant with potato salad and a cup of the vegetable soup. The potato salad was amazing! So much so that I got an addition side to go with my left over sandwich. The sandwich was kind of bland, maybe add pickles or something, and the soup was decent. The server was very nice and friendly, didn’t charge me for the extra potato salad. I would go back just for potato salad, it was that good!

This was my fourth stop on the Solvang bakery trail in search of the perfect Owl Eye. An owl eye is a shortbread cookie with a piped marzipan topping and a bit of fruit preserve in the center, in the case of Danish Mill, it’s strawberry. Ate it in the car yesterday, so no photo. It was good. The shortbread was crisp and the marzipan very light. Strawberry flavor was reasonably pronounced. The GREAT thing about his place is that the bakery case is huge and they had an enormous variety. My wife got a chocolate covered pastry with an almond cake base, and a mocha cream pastry. She was very happy! Ambiance/Cleanliness-good enough! 3 stars Service-the ladies were wonderful! All the other establishments used white paper bags for our goodies, but this place had the much beloved pink cardboard box, and was personalized with a bakery sticker. 4 stars Food-not my favorite, but pretty good! 3 stars

Love their butter cookie bucket! I also ordered a Danish Kringle and it was delicious! The outside was crispy and baked well then the inside moist with custard, raisins and almonds. It’s really big and needs to be shared. Their lemon and strawberry danish was outstanding too!

While not the best bakery in Solvang, it’s got the best and widest selection, best tub cookies, and has the best sit down dining area.(Yes, I have ‘best of’ lists for EVERYTHING, especially bakeries). I like to bring all of my virgin Solvang guests here because they have a bit of everything, and it’s a pleasant and clean setting. Talk about selection, they have A-Z plus breads, sandwiches, soups, and more — and nicely presented(take that MORTENSEN’s).

A great little bakery located in Solvang, I just stopped by for a sampling as I was craving something sweet. I ordered the macaroon, apricot shortbread(sweeter than I thought) and the almond claw(was more of a croissant than what I expected), all of which was very good. I sat in the booth and order a cup of coffee which was also good. For parking, you will find street parking, I didn’t have an issue in finding a spot. Solvang is a great little town to just walk around and explore.

Cheese Danish was a little dry. Cookies are good. I only got a dozen rather than the tub. People are nice and friendly.

I have died on gone to baked-good-heaven. This bakery is just so damn cute! There are a few bakeries to choose from in a 2 block radius but this bakery has loads of people walking in and out! Now I know why. Everything here is made fresh. The Danishes are buttery and flaky with just the right amount of jam on the middle. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and quick. They have to be to keep up with the people here. What’s great is this is a café and a bakery. So if you want a traditional Danish breakfast, they got you! All my tarts, cookies and sweet breads were delicious!(I went a little crazy) but I didn’t get a chance to do breakfast, next time for sure! Check this place out!

Yum yum yum! Solvang is one of my favorite places. It reminds me of my childhood — a vacation my best friends family took me on when we were about 10 years old. I remember eating meatballs and pastries while running around their central park area while her parents sipped on wine. It hasn’t changed! It’s a perfect stop off the freeway when heading up north. We were there for about an hour and managed to find great parking, go to 3 places and take time to eat outside in the park. I knew I wanted to stop at this location. Last time we went to Olsens, which is also very good, but I wanted to try something new. We got the apple cake thing – HOLYDELICIOUSNESS!!! We took this unopened box to my parents and quickly devoured it. We also got a few danishes. I went with the custard and a raspberry, while my boyfriend got a strawberry and a cream cheese. He’s not a custard fan at all, but I made him try it because it was no joke the best custard pastry I’ve ever had. Once he tried it he was in heaven. He’s decided that he has never really had good custard before. I will most definietly be back!

I have to say the Danish pancakes were pretty good here… light, fluffy, and thin. The Danish sausage was also pretty good. thick, juicy, and flavorful. The cheese and bacon omelette, on the other hand, was a bit overcooked and it was just ok. The waffle was also just ok IMO. I would have liked it to be a little more fluffy. But otherwise, service was great and I really enjoyed the Danish pancakes.

This is one of the five bakeries in the small town of Solvang. We tried the famous Danish deep fried balls with strawberry syrup; I can’t remember the name. It was warm, doughy, and sweety; interesting to try. I would suggest trying it. We also got a dozen of the famous butter cookies; I have to say I was disappointed with the cookies. They were small and not that buttery. Danishes were tasty but the price was steep $ 3.5 for a Danish. The bakery is worth a visit if you are visiting this little charming town. They have a huge selection of pastries. Pick a few and try them

We were ambitious and thought we could try out all five Danish bakeries in Solvang, but the chocolate dipped macaroon I had here slowed me down. I was stuffed! It was a good deal for only three dollars. They have a wide selection of pastries that you can enjoy in the dining area or take on-the-go to explore the town. Nothing to write home about but still a great first stop to try out the yummy pastries Solvang has to offer!

Lots of pastries. The custard one was very good and moist. Lots of seating inside. If you are looking for a not so crowded place to enjoy a danish pastry, this is a good location. Near lots of shops and the famous danish pancake restaurant.

Danish pastry tour stop number 4! This is a bakery/restaurant. The pastry display area is pretty cramped and crowded. Custard Éclair — $ 4.35 — Custard was light and not to sweet, you can taste the egg. The éclair pastry was pretty limp and soggy and fell apart after the first bite Brownie with Nuts — $ 2.50 — Typical brownie with nuts inside. Nothing special and really small. Apple Cheese Danish — $ 3.25 -. The apples and cheese tasted like they were supposed to. The pastry was just like any other danish I have had.

Fat boy heaven, this place is…(Hey… Today is Star Wars Days). An incredible selection of caloric bombardment that makes a sweet loving, pastry munching, chunky munkie such as myself die and go straight to H. E. double toothpicks!!! We got a cookie bucket,(yes folks, a bucket), that came with an assortment of cavity inducing little treats that were absolute amaze-balls. I also got myself a chocolate covered, custard filled éclair that damn near put me into a food induced coma. OHMYGOD!!! That MoFo was delish. A «must stop» for us when we are there. Even if I’m just being a food voyeur and watching…
