Food is super generic and not good. Ok place to grab drinks if you’re at or near Old Orchard.

Yea, my boyfriend and I ate at this place twice. We have a veto policy. After the second time, my boyfriend could handle it. First: let me say that the servers we encounters were wonderful. Second: who serves a pulled pork sandwich without BBQ? And then forgets to bring it to the table after being asked? Third: who eats a steak dinner that’s burned to a crisp, when they really wanted it med rare? Never going back. The people in the kitchen don’t know how to cook.

Avoid at all costs. Tables set up at awkward angels in relation to tvs which are too few and too small for a sports bar. Food is terrible. Service is mediocre at best. Had an awful experience and will never return.

I feel as though the Champps here is where dreams go to die. The dreams of its customers who think they’ll come in expecting okay service and food. The service employees here who seem like this is their last stop before hitting rock bottom and of course Old Orchard mall for its dreams of having a ‘cooler’ equivalent to TGI-Apple-Chili’s. On all three fronts it’s pretty bleak, the menu is pretty extensive but for the most part just really kind of bleh. None of the menu items stand out, I think everything is just made in the back from the same pile of shapeless goo and then formed and flavored accordingly. The staff I’ve encountered are ignorant at best and just obviously don’t care at worst. Waitresses unaware of what consists of their happy hour, step all over each other-I’ve had 2 servers come to my table because obviously there was a communication mishap somewhere then both disappear for long periods of time. I’ve had one or two better experiences here but not recent enough that it warrants a higher rating. I’ve been to other Champps and it’s not like how it is here.

Went for a few drinks with a friend to watch the Blackhawks game. Sports bar right? In the middle of the Hawks game the manager switched all 20TV’s to a pay per view UFC fight. Myself and other patrons requested ONLY1TV to be returned to the Blackhawk game as others wanted college basketball. The manager said NO as Champs had paid for the rights to broadcast the UFC fight and they were putting fight on every TV. Bad business desission. A bunch of people walked out. The manager from Saturday night 3÷16÷2013 needs a lesson in Customer Service. As for the food, it was ok with the 3 female bartenders being slow and could of cared a less over my request,

There are a few good gluten free options, and the staff is polite. However it is quite noisy, and they carded both of my parents who are in their 50s. They thought the waitress was playing with them, but she was serious. Very odd.

I come here often with my vegetarian friend, not sure why since virtually nothing on the menu is vegetarian. They are very accommodating when it comes to making the dishes without meat, although they have made mistakes once or twice when we’ve had to send dishes back. The food is hit or miss, I’ve had dishes that were delicious and dishes I wouldn’t order again. For example: Their walnut-crusted chicken — huge portions, delicious every time. Their chicken madeira — tiny pieces of chicken, with not so great asparagus on the side. I got maybe half the amount ouf chicken that came with the walnut-crusted chicken. My friend loves their quesadillas and their pastas are actually pretty good too. Service can also be hit or miss, when they’re busy they can take a while. But I do love that it’s a sports bar we can stay and chill, and drink, and talk, and watch the game after eating without being pushed to leave. Overall it’s a pretty laid back place, good for catching up with old friends or catching a game.

Great place to watch sporting events! However, lot of families and children present which takes some getting use to since I live in the city. This place has been an ideal location to meet up old, local friends and family. Looking forward to an evening visit at some point.

Champps has always been good to me and my friends. We frequent the place so much because we work in the mall. It’s your average upscale-ish sports bar so if it’s not your thing to sit in a restaurant with tons of screen displaying every game you could think of, this isn’t your place. Then again if it is, then this is your sports mecca. They have good food and excellent beer & liquor choices. The staff is some of the nicest(especially at the bar area). They always have some kind of promotion going on like $ 6.99 burger Monday or their current sweepstakes. Which brings me to why I dropped their rating to a 4 star. The staff is awesome, but management decided that they would change their rules one of their current promotions. The rules state that there is no purchase necessary when you bring a code in from their Facebook page and you can redeem a free dessert, appetizer, entrée, etc. etc. Well, I from what I gathered from coworkers, the management at this particular location decided to only allow you to check a code after you’ve ordered and are about to pay. What if I only wanted to order an entrée? What if my code says I win a dessert? What if I don’t want that dessert? One of my coworkers voiced their concern on their Facebook page and someone already addressed it. I think that’s pretty neat for a company to fix their problems immediately. I’m not going to knock another star off because of this and they’ve always been pretty good to me. I appreciate their kindness and all their promotions. I know I’ll be back.

Large space, big screen TVs, $ 5 draft beer, $ 10 burgers plus the usual salads, entrees and sandwiches a sport bar typically offers. Service was fast and efficient. Nothing fancy, but service and food were solid and good which made this place the perfect stop for a quick pre-theatre dinner. The blue cheese bacon burger and waffle fries were a hit at our table.

A nice place to watch a Bulls game as they have a lot of big screen TVs and audio of the game. But what used to set this place apart was the $ 2 pint nights on Thursdays. $ 2 pints for all drafts! I guess its just the sign of the economic times, but the prices have risen. Its now $ 2.50 domestics, $ 3.50 import/specialty. ½ price apps after 10PM, but its only at the bar. The service is still questionable, and its still a pretty decent deal, but it’s not so special anymore.

Really… why did I go here? Bland food… even the pictures of the food weren’t that great. I think I was asked about 10 times — «How is everything?»…of course, I lied and said ok… but really I don’t like being bothered that many times. And the HDTVs in the place were playing the games for the NCAA tourney but they weren’t even in HD… say what? I bet they are too cheap to pay for the HD channel service but have the nice big TVs to make it look like they do.

So I’ve only been here twice and both experiences were pretty subpar. The latest one was to lunch here to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Alas, with so many other great restaurants to choose from, I don’t know what the heck I was thinking. Anyways, we came in and they were not very busy. We waited at least 10 minutes for the hostess to finally acknowledge our existence and seat us. We then proceeded to sit and look over the menu. The menu is pretty much typical chain food restaurant stuff. Stuff you might find at Chili’s, except waaaay overpriced. Alas, my sister and I ordered the salmon. My friends ordered the burgers and the wings. Aside from the food being overpriced, the portions were very small. The salmon was pretty«meh,» nothing to write home about. The service was also not very friendly or attentive. The only reason this place gets two stars is the fact that our waiter did embarass my sister by coming out with a cake with a candle and singing with some co-workers. I don’t think I’ll be back here again.

Champs is pretty good. Not too different from, well, any other restaurant, but it has good food at decent prices. It’s a sports bar + restaurant, nothing fancy, but certainly reliable and good to catch a game.

We came here to watch the WEC a few weeks ago. Honestly it was nothing special, and will never go out of my way to go here, but if I’m shopping at the mall and none of the other restaurants sound good, then I guess we’ll go again. Big space, huge TV screen in the bar and it was good to watch the fights. It kinda sucked that we got charged cover though… it’s in Skokie, not Lincoln Park! Horrible beer selection. Scanned the menu several times and nothing really caught my eye. My boyfriend got a pasta meal of some sort and he said it was good. But like I said, this place is just nothing really special. The whole place is just kinda… Bland… And as for the posted pictures of the nasty bathrooms… I experienced the same environment in the ladies room. It progressively got worse during the 4 hours we were here.

Oh yeah. I hang in Skokie. Actually, I went here for a colleagues going away luncheon. No one says luncheon anymore. I’m going to bring it back. Now that I’ve finished with sexy, I should have time. To be honest, the most memorable part of being there was when my colleague spilled a glass of ice water on her crotch. But this isn’t a review about my colleagues crotch. There were about 8 of us. The menu was huge — but I really don’t like to eat lunch. I was eating lunch to be nice. You know how you do things just to be nice. Like when your friend calls you crying that their cat died, so you sleep with them to make them feel better? Or your in the men’s room, and you notice someone checking you out — so you step back from the urinal so they can get a better look? Or when you give change to that guy with no legs who sits in the intersection? Yeah, like that. Anyway, I opted for the soup and Caesar salad. The soup was a white bean chicken. It was actually pretty good. The salad was nothing to write home about. My colleagues all went for traditional bar fare — which was probably a good bet — as that is what they are known for. There was an old woman sitting next to us who ordered the super nacho supreme plate. It would have fed a small country. The waiter was nice — and brought extra napkins for my friend’s wet crotch. They seemed fine with an impromptu group showing up for luncheon. The bathroom was pretty darn clean. I was impressed. Though I have to admit, I hate hate hate restaurants that have carpeted floors. It grosses me out. The place needed a good hoovering. For an eatery attached to a suburban mall, I have to say it was OK. No place I’d regularly go to. Or take anyone I knew too. There are too many other good places to eat at to return here. Now, I can say«been there, done that».

I like to start my reviews by stating that I ran against more than 1,200 Managers from many different area hotel chains for the Manager of the Year Award — Regional(Chicago) and State(IL) by the IL Dept. of Hotels and Lodging. I won both of those awards, so believe me when I say I know good service or lack thereof when i see it. Service: First, I would like to say I was there for a very close friends 40th birthday party on Sunday 9−6−09. While we originally were going to eat inside, we decided last minute to move outside. When the present wait staff was informed(i am going to leave names out of this entire review) they stood idle as the males in my group moved 4 tables and 16 chairs together. In that same time she could have easily fetched some Champs staff to assist such an large group. On more than one occasion we had to ask the same wait staff twice before the item was brought to the table. When we first arrived there was only about 8 of us, we ordered drinks and they came out two at a time. The first person served was already done with their drink by the time the last person was served their drink. Product: The drinks were good and the food was ok as partions are concerned. However, a note on the Thai Beef Salad which description does not contain its real Thai name(Num Toc), it contained pineapple! I figure since they didnt give it, the orginal name this may be their excuse for adding a fruit to this typical beef, lettuce and onion salad. Another person in our group also had this salad and thought the pineapple was out of place in this salad. Cleanliness: If a washroom can be left very dirty over almost 2 hours, I guarantee that male staff was aware of it. I made two trips to the wash room, my second trip was almost two hours later. When the conditions where the same, I decided to take some photos and I have posted them. «If the bathoom is this dirty, how clean is the kitchen?» I always find myself asking that question when I see a filthy restroom. I am sure I am not alone on this assumption. Ambience, the outside was nice but nothing spectacular. Standard outdoor furniture. While it was cool this night they offered no portable propane heating lamps like many other establishments do these days. The lighting was very bright, and hurt your eyes. Which I guess is better than sitting in the dark, if I had to choose. While I have frequented this establishment with friends and business partners in the past, I will no long patronize this establishment based on the above. I look forward to hearing from management. I will gladly provide my friends information if you wish to make some type of service recovery. Respectfully Submitted, Angelo

Yes!!! Either there is God, or Champs current owner reads Unilocal. There are brand new Plasma screens installed all over the place, and the UFC show starts on time… sound and everything, how about that! Much appreciate it, as well as the yummy fish’n’chips. We solved the weak mixed drink problem by sticking to vodka martinis, so all is good.
