I wish they were open on the weekend. I had a reindeer bratwurst which was good. Watch out for bites of bone if you have one as I discovered one in mine. The frites we tasty but the sauces were so so. I would happily go back but not going to track over during the weekdays.

It’s okay. I got a beer brat and it was great but I just feel like dollar per dollar you’re better off going to hot dog King. This seems like a good place to come with a bunch of coworkers though.

Stop by if you are in the neighbourhood. The spicy bison bratwurst is out of the world. Also must try the tater tots with the spicy chipotle dip. They have a nice collection of beer. I personally love the sour beers at this place.

Cool place to grab a dog and beer! Anytime :-) bison was my favorite, cheddar warst was least favorite. The German dog was very good too, had to try it since its most popular… Cool Option is you get to choose your toppings for your dog, and if you order fries or totts you get to choose a sauce to dip in– they have a few different ones.

After work, there’s nothing I want more than a good bratwurst and some sauerkraut. Luckily for me, The Wurst Place is a few blocks away from where I live and work. The Wurst Place is a cozy, casual spot and is great for those who want to unwind, but not want to break the bank. Quick tip: If you are especially hangry and don’t want to wait for your food, avoid the Amazon lunch rush and visit them during their off-hours(basically anytime other than 12 – 1 on a weekday and Friday night). I visited them around 4:30 pm on a Thursday and there wasn’t a line to be had. Woot! If you are a cheese fan, you must try the cheddarwurst dog(around $ 8 – 9). It’s fantastic when paired with its fresh bun and sauerkraut. The fries are all sorts of crack as well. This place is filled with great craft beer and the service is definitely friendly. If you are in SLU and are of the carnivore variety, definitely try The Wurst Place!

We were roaming around and trying to find a place to get beer and really liked the gnome up front so we decided to check it out. It was a good decision, we got in right before the after work crowd which was lucky for us especially since it was a friday. The staff was helpful, the IPA they had was amazing and we tried the recommended wurst that’s freshly made which I can’t remember right now but it was recommended by a staff and he wasn’t joking. Very good. Will be one of our stops when we go back for sure.

While I don’t think I can give this place a fair review due to a similar local place, I will try. After weaving through a surplus of Amazon employees, we finally got to the Wurst Place. Walking in this place, everything looked great… respectable selection of beers as well as a small but tastey looking menu. I ordered the spiciest sausage on the menu along with ‘hell sauce’ and ever topping available. My counterpart did the same, except on a gluten free bun. The hell sauce is not deserving of it’s name, and the sausage left me desiring more in terms of flavor and heat. The gluten free bun was pathetic. While it’s nice to have an option, if I had to go that route I would just skip the bun altogether. As for the beer selection, it was great. The employees were knowledgeable about each of the beers as well. Overall I could see myself eating here from time to time if I were in the area or had someone who wanted to go there. Otherwise I wouldn’t seek it out.

A pleasant neighborhood spot featuring artisanal(though not house-made) sausages and a selection of 22 craft beers, listed on blackboards. Nine rotating sausage varieties. I tried the potato-bacon-cheddar bratwurst, served with a choice of toppings; I opted for sauerkraut and caramelized onions. Very satisfactory. I also tried two items from their beer list: — Everybody’s Brewing Co., White Salmon, WA, Everybody’s Ca$h Stout. Mild roast malt nose. Classic dry stout flavor profile, mouth-feel perhaps a bit thin. — Firestone Parabola Oak-Aged Imperial Stout 2012. Near opaque, very dark brown, medium head. Winey nose. Intense taste dominated by fruit(prunes?), ethanol; roast malt trails behind. Long sweet/roast malt fade. Any oak presence is overwhelmed. Complex and delicious. Conveniently located on the South Lake Union Trolley line, about a mile north of the Westlake Transit Center.

I work nearby, and this is easily my favorite place to eat lunch in SLU. The Spicy Bison sausages are incredible, the fries are crispy and fresh, the staff are nice, and they have a huge range of stuff on tap including excellent Root Beer for the teetotalers. The Wurst Place is The Best Place!

Surprising when you first enter, seemed like a store front, turned out to be a cavern. Great beer list, very well posted. We went on a Friday afternoon and the place was jammed. Our server was terrific in spite of the mob of tech workers filling the long tables. The fella running beer was great as well. It was also fun to have couple of well behaved dogs on the scene. Aside from the darkness, a great vibe. The sausages were fine. I would prefer the rolls to be softer rather than toasted. But the concept is superb. Wursts, great beer, boisterous atmosphere, and fine sassy service. And no pretense, just roll up your sleeves and enjoy.

Great selection of beer for happy hour. Dog friendly which is rare. Service is kind and speedy. They really check if your drink is topped off so that you are not wanting. Overall great place; haven’t tried too much of their food items but so far so good for a bar. Convenient location and never really had to wait for seating. Great environment for a large happy hour crowd.

So I work at Amazon, and was here because it was lunchtime and I had just picked up a new employee from orientation. I’m not a huge fan of beer(especially not the first day I’ve ever met someone) and I don’t eat meat, so this place was kind of a bummer. But I could have dealt with that, if it weren’t so dratted loud! I couldn’t hear across the table, which made conversation pretty rough. I did like their tater tots, and the cream cheese they have as an option… yum! During lunch, they take your order up front and give you a number, then drop the food off by number. They don’t seem to have an organizational force to the order in which they bring out the food, however, as several people seemed to get food early and others were left waiting for a long time.

This was an okay hotdog place. It wasn’t cheap and the portions aren’t huge. I was still a bit hungry afterwards to be honest. I would try this place if you like hot dogs, but wouldn’t go out of my way to come eat here again. They do have a large selection of beers to choose from and their aioli for the fries is pretty good.

I knew I’d love this place when we finally ventured in on Friday, but was hesitant to spend some qt in SLU on a Friday night. Turns out the area was deserted: D Although it’s a good thing we got there when we did because they were closing early for the holiday weekend — wouldn’t it be neat if their website conveyed this type of information? Instead it’s just a picture of their logo, which is also neat but doesn’t provide much information other than gnome sausage beer. After a stressful ordering process — super rushed and we were meeting people that I had no idea what they’d want to eat and they wouldn’t answer the damn phone(minus 1 star for adding a side of stress with our scrumptious food) — the food was more than delicious and the dry cider on tap(Seattle Cider maybe?) paired well with it. I went with the beefy cheddary wurst with cream cheese and grilled onions(perfection to say the least) and the bf got the wild boar sausage(he enjoyed). Oh, and we also got tots which come with amazing dipping sauces that also brought me joy. Bottom line: I need to come back here all the time and eat and drink and be merry.

A little hard to find at first, they have a small sign in the window. I went in around lunchtime and thought the place was closed, since it was still dark and the door was closed. Going inside, the place is pretty big. They have a fair selection of brats that are all around 8 dollars. You can also have a selection of toppings, from saurkraut, caramelized onions, and some hot peppers. I had the whiskey pig brat and a side order of frites as recommended by the server. The bratwurst itself was excellent. However, for 8 bucks, it is disappointingly small. I got some of the frites because they were recommended by the server, stating that they won an award for the best ones in the city. However, mine came soggy and still had a lot of oil on them. Normally for an experience like this, I would give them a 3 star rating. However, the saving grace is the service. The servers are all very friendly and attentive and make an effort to have a positive impression on you when you are there. One of the servers saw what I was eating and recommended a few beers that would go well with what I had. He brought out 3 generous samples and they were all excellent. Everyone that I talked to that worked there were very knowledgeable about their menu. If I came back, it would be around nighttime with a few friends to have drinks and some light food. Overall, a great place.

The beers are listed on the wall. The names are all interesting, but you soon struggle to find out which one you drank with the dim lights. Beers are excellent, nevertheless. As for the wurst? They were excellent. I do wish that they allow me to choose multiple toppings. The tater tots were excellent but the fries were plain. This is an earthy cozy German themed place that is relaxing. But they ran out of buns at 8pm. Guess they could do better at the operation of the restaurant, other than just the foods and drinks.

I’ve had lunch here 3 times and the food has been pretty good. I’m not a fan of sausages but decided to experiment based on a co-workers suggestion and was surprised by the upbeat ambience and atmosphere. I had been to the restaurants next door like Blue Moon, Republic and Serious Pie many times but somehow missed out on this place. The food is good, the bun is on the dry side and needs the sausage and topping to perk it up. I decided to be adventurous and have tried the Nurnberger, the Spicy Bison and one other I can’t remember. They were all pretty good, the best part of the food. The frites and tater tots are ok, I am more of a steak fry or McDonald’s type less fried fries person so they were crispy for me. The chipotle aioli was on the spicy side but good and the rosemary and garlic aioli was good too. Their beer selection is amazing, and I like the ambience. It’s dark, with upbeat music and pretty trendy. It’s hard to have a conversation in there so if you’re trying it for a lunch meeting it’s probably not a good idea! Parking is a challenge but there is a cheaper lot behind the Tesla showroom across the road.

I like everything that this place represents and am generally a fan of anything that resembles a hot dog or a fancy hot dog. Yay for this place: The wursts are pretty good, thank god. I’ve only had one(the beef & cheese). Can’t really go wrong there. The wurst was delicious and there are mustards and sauces on the table if that is your thing. It was maybe slightly salty and a little small though. While there’s nothing wrong with a salty dog, if you’re trying to market yourself as a gamey traditional sausage place, you should probably stick more to that. I suspect people come here more for the ambiance(and the beer) — or if you’re on a diet that only allows you to eat teeny tiny hotdogs(we’ve all been there). The seating area is low light and there’s quirky artwork on the walls, giving the place a chill, but eclectic and artsy vibe. There’s a bar, so if that gives you any idea of the intentions of this place, then yeah. Go here. It’s a nice change from the usual sterilized corporate BS you see down amongst the Amazombies. I’ll be back. For meat, I’ll always be back.

You won’t come here unless you know, know that it has one of the best beer lists in SLU, great brats of all flavors with a list of grilled toppings and dressings. Reminds me of a German beer hall and has a super size television to view sporting events. I’ve walked by Wurst a number of times noticing a lively after work crowd, but just walked past. From the sidewalk you’d not know what’s hiding inside. Of all the upscale choices in SLU, I’d rather come to Wurst Place then hit some of the other trendy spots.
