Always love this place. Great wine knowledge, wonderful variety and always good company who work there. Thank you Tamera!

I did not like any of their wines even the«award winners». Very acidic, throat burn, bitter. Gross. It was empty in there no surprise. Seattle is great at chocolate, but don’t drink the wine!

Excellent service! We came in 30 mins before closing. My husband ordered a cider since he doesn’t drink wine. My cousin and I ordered the Electric Whites for $ 10.00. It comes with Albarino, rose, Gewurtztraminer and Viogner. I enjoyed it very much. The service was great… we were not rushed and let us take our time to enjoy the wines and to chit chat.

Great service, awesome sitting in post alley and people watching. Inside bar is charming. «Feels like Europe» is what everyone says, but it’s true. Can’t wait to go back!

Great tasting experience. Nice Washington wines. Staff was very knowledgeable about their wines and service was excellent. Give this tasting store a visit when you are at Pike Place Market.

I love this place and have been here multiple times over the years. Every time I come down to Pike Place I stop by here for wine and to sit outside. Writing a review for yesterday only because it was the 1st sub-par experience I’ve had there. It pains me to only give 3 stars when it’s always been much better. 1. Pricing seemed to be a bit higher than I remember. There’s a price for drinking your wine there and a price for taking it home that was cheaper; I don’t recall this being the case in the past but maybe I’m mistaken. Regardless, bottle price on the wine wife and I drink just went up about $ 25% to drink it there. 2. Cheese plate is underwhelming; $ 12 and you get 3 different types of cheese but hardly any of each. I think they say 1oz per but it’s just… so little. No almonds, jams, fruit, etc. Literally a piece of manchego-like cheese(looks like it’s from the Trader Joe’s tapas pack), beechers(not on menu but they were out of one of them so that was the replacement), and another. 3. Wine flights look fun; tables around us were doing those and they look worth trying and were reasonably priced($ 10-$ 15). 4. Our waitress… she seriously needed to work on her people skills. Ordered a wine that I’ve ordered there many times and upon delivery made a comment about how the bottle shape had changed. Waitress flat out said I was wrong and that it’s always been that way. I told her I could’ve sworn that it was different and she was adamant that she’s worked there for years and it’s always been the same and that I was wrong. I don’t care if I’m wrong but just the awkwardness of her being so rude about it was odd. I did look up previous years on my phone to confirm I wasn’t losing my mind(I wasn’t) but refrained from actually showing our waitress because it was so unpleasant to interact with her. 5. Our waitress again. Ordered the cheese plate and her reply was«cheese plate, that’s it? You’re not even going to drink wine?». Well, yes, I am if I could finish my order. Ordered the wine(that queued up #4 awkward moment) and she disappeared to go get it. Delivered our wine to table and then told us that cheese plate would be out soon and that she had to go cut the cheese in back. Oh god… then followed-up on her joke with clarification of she actually needs to cut the cheese and that she didn’t mean«cut the cheese». Ugh, so painful and a joke that doesn’t need to be explained… Maybe yesterday was an off day for the Tasting Room; assuming it was I’ll upgrade my review upon next visit. Tips: Table on patio immediately to left of door gets the most sun as the day winds down; other tables gradually got shady. Also, if you check in on Unilocal you get 20% off bottle purchase. That was a nice incentive and appreciated.

Unfortunately when we went for happy hour there was a very large and very loud group event happening in the main area. Because of this they weren’t serving much food, service itself was pretty slow, and I had a tough time hearing my friend over the noise. Had I known there was going to be an event that day we probably would have opted to go someplace else. That said, the venue is cute, the wine is good, and the prices are decent. I’d be willing to give it another try, but probably not for a while.

Such an awesome place! We found it on Unilocal ending up going in randomly for a tasting and left with 3 bottles! Can’t wait to go back! If you’re in the area definitely check this place out!

My boyfriend and I came here for our first wine tasting experience celebrating our 2 year anniversary and had the best time. Wendy was a great help, offering tons of tips and always having time for us even though she had a full room to take care of. We tried about 12 types of wines(reds & ports), a wide variety of flavors and a truly great selection. We also ordered the cheese plate, which was great– the cheddar was so tasty and rich! We had such a good time and definitely plan on coming back. Thanks again Wendy for the great service!

A great little place if you’re looking to get out of the crowd. A ton of wines to try, and they will customize a tasting especially for you. We enjoyed playing the boardgames as we drank our flights.

If you’re not dressed like you have money, don’t bother going in– you won’t get served. My Fiancée and I were on a date, and decided to pop in while we were exploring Seattle. I, being a local, was wearing a rain shell and an Eddie Bauer sweatshirt. She, being from out of town, was dressed nicer than I. By no means did we look unkempt. Anywhoo, it being Christmas time, we were going to do a tasting and buy a nice bottle of wine. We went in, looked at the selection, found a bottle we were interested in and sat down for a tasting. We perused the menu, waiting for the wine man(I won’t call him a Sommelier, after the unprofessional behavior) to at least acknowledge us. He was with another couple, and it would have been understandable if he had said«gimme a second» or «it’ll just be another minute». Instead, we waited 15 minutes while he obviously saw us, unloaded dishes in front of us, and completely ignored we were there. The only explanation I can think of is that we didn’t look worth the time for him. Oh well, we spent the chunk of change we would have spent there at other establishments more professional and customer oriented.

Very small, hidden in an alley. Only one person working when we first came in then another came in to help. Many selections on wine. Had a bottle of Regent, and then wanted a bigger bottle of Sauv Blanc. They said we could always come back to finish it, or take the bottle with us and return it to get our deposit back($ 8). Also got the cheese plate, meat plate, and crackers. Compliments the wine

Let’s get down to business. 5 stars for: an intricate variety of wines that you can taste(and by that I mean u can taste every single one on their menu), great and quick service(bar tender takes everyone on but she was super friendly, helpful and fast!), And great ambience(they had large tables for bigger groups, cozy two ppl tables for a more intimate night, and also had tons of board games to pick from while you sip on your vino!). We got a coupon discount for checking in as well! Can’t complain! Will be back next time we are in the city!

This was a sweet spot to find while visiting the Pikes Place market area. The ambiance of the place is very nice and the tasting fee is very reasonable. What I really enjoyed was the service! We really had a great time sitting at the bar and making conversation with our bartenders. This was a great pit stop during my visit and I wish I lived closer, so I could visit moe often.

Love love love! I’ve been a fan of this place since my legal drinking age! :D At least for half a decade. It’s also one of the few places in Seattle that you can do wine tasting without having to trek down all the way to woodinville. The space~ very rustic, small, quaint, dim list, oakey and cute. Summer time: the outdoor seating is fantastic for drinking bubbles and people watching. The wine~ they have it all! Funny wine names to Washington and California wines and some foreign. I usually stick to Washington wines here since I love the ones they carry! The fun ~ you can do anything from tasting flights, charcuterie to champagne bottles. Half or full. I’m always here for girls time/outting. Naturally, we split a bottle or two. The wine map is quite fun too. Those gloomy December afternoons here, or bright cheery summer eve! Spring time fun! Jazz and wine night! I’ve done it all. And I’m still a fan! People are quite friendly too. They are always finding new ways to have fun with the wine experience. Love the music/performances here! Last week Jazz flamenco night was quite a show! Full house, musicians, wine flowing! What else do you need for a perfectly fun night :)

My girlfriend and I recently spent four days in the great city of Seattle. We visited A LOT of places while we were there and this place was so great we went twice! First, amazing customer service. We got a very personalized wine tasting from the owner and she just happened to have a rep there who was very knowledgeable and added a lot to our experience. Second, great wines, we even ended up taking a beautiful bottle of rose home. Third, great location. It’s pretty much on Pike Pl with great foot traffic for people watching. We will definitely make it a priority to stop on next time we are in Seattle.

Located in Seattle downtown. In pike place. Don’t bother with parking. It’s downtown. Don’t get your hopes up. nope. not gonna happen. Walked in on Sunday night. I was surprised how empty it was. There were about 3 – 4 groups including mine. It was pretty quiet until someone decided to bring a baby in… to the wine bar Like… seriously. Baby crying and wine tasting do not go well together. PLEASELEAVEYOURBABYATHOME. In terms of wine though, they have sweet deals. 4 wine tasting for 10 dollars. WHAAAT??? They had a lot of variations and I was having a hard time deciding which one. I decided go for rose wines and some of them were stronger than i thought, but I liked them for the most part. Their snack is on the pretty pricey side though considering how little it was.(3 tiny cheese set for 12 dollars) So far, it was good(except the baby part). I still would’ve given 4 star… only if the person that worked that SUNDAYNIGHT(AHEM, ISTHEMANAGERREADINGTHIS) wasn’t so rude to us. First of all, I am pretty sure it is illegal to drink while working. When we walked in, he was drinking from beer bottle(his face was a bit red too). He obviously didn’t seem to care when we walked in. So we just seated ourselves at the bar table thinking like ‘what the hell?’. And secondly, He didn’t have to be so freaking rude about us asking him for some recommendations. it was my first time at the wine bar so I wasn’t sure which ones are good for the beginner. He pretty much re-read the name of the wines, and give the«vibe» to just read the description and stop bothering him. uh, hello? yes I can read??? From this point, I started getting annoyed at him and wanted to leave. But yes, I came here to try wines so I was just trying to forget about him and ordered whatever i think is good. When we got our wine, everything seemed to be okay again. Sippin’ on them wines with some cheese and feeling fancy and all that. AND of course, who am i kidding, the server started getting on my nerves AGAIN. We were sitting at the bar table, so we had to be right in front of him. And while he was working, he kept sighing again and again like he doesn’t want to be here EVER. And talking to a lady that was next to me(she was alone reading and drinking) saying stuff like«I have to be here tomorrow again *sigh* I don’t wanna be here *sigh*, I better get my coffee to get through tomorrow *sigh*» LIKEDUDE, I DON’T NEEDYOURNEGATIVITYHERE, I CAMEHERETOENJOYMYWINE, NOTTOHEARHOWCRAPPYYOURLIFEIS. IFYOUDON’T WANNAWORKHERETHENQUITANDGOSOMEWHEREELSE. By the time i walked out, I was feeling annoyed which doesn’t happen very often. This review might look dramatic, but no. I really did come here to enjoy my wine, not to be surrounded by some random dude’s negativity and rudeness. I will be returning only when he is not working.

I would have given The Tasting Room 3 stars, as I liked it, but I wasn’t overly impressed, especially as the service was not very fast as there seemed to be only one server for this small place on a Friday afternoon and we grew a little impatient. However, The Tasting Room has a complete selection of only local wines, and we were looking for a local authentic feel, and the server was very well informed. The extra star comes from a return trip the following day when the server remembered exactly what we ordered the day prior and we left happy with two bottles of wine.

Great selection of local wines. Staff helpful and knowledgeable. $ 10 for four wine tastes. You can pick from the preselected flights or pick your own from the extensive menu, and they will arrange them for you in the recommended tasting order. Really fun experience!

We wandered over here after grazing for lunch around Pike’s Market while vacationing in Seattle. Our trip wasn’t quite long enough to make a proper visit to the wine areas around Seattle, so we thought a flight here would at least give us an introduction. My husband and I are especially fans of whites(I know, I know), so we made our own flight of ones that sounded interesting(with a lot of help from the bartender) and enjoyed them out on the patio.(The chairs could have been a little larger and more comfortable out there, but that’s a minor quibble). The wines we got to try were great, and the prices were fairly reasonable. I would have loved to take a bottle or two home, but they don’t let us do that in Utah. We had already eaten, so we didn’t try any of the food. If you have an interest in tasting some of the wines of Washington, this is a great place to go.

Went here earlier this week after discovering that the Pink Door doesn’t sit anyone from 4−5pm. The Tasting Room is right across Post Alley and seemed an obvious choice. We ordered a few glasses of wine and sat outside, which was quite lovely. The pours were generous, though in retrospect we were probably remise in not ordering a tasting flight. I might expect more selection from a tasting room, but I suppose it’s not a large shop and they do sell to-go bottles of everything on the menu. Generally, the ambiance inside was good and service was acceptable. However, one of my companions ordered the cheese plate($ 12) and I have never been so underwhelmed by a grouping of cheese in my life! I barely stopped myself from saying, «You have got to be kidding me!» when the plate was set in front of us. The cheese plate consisted of a child-sized handful of salted almonds, a smearing of blue cheese(though small, quite good!), 3 slices of gouda, and 3 slices of a tangy white cheese. All great cheeses, but such small portions of each that it’s hard to not feel ripped off. I see many folks reviewing this place who probably didn’t stray far away from Pike Place/their cruise ships for food options elsewhere in the city. Don’t let this be you! For a great wine experience that’s just a short walk away(though more expensive), I recommend Purple at 4th and University. Happy drinking!

$ 10 for any 4 wines you want to try, or you can select from a list they already have. Great concept/idea I haven’t come across before. I loved the system and the wines were good too. Service was great.

3.5STARS — Cute tasting room tucked away on Post St in Pike’s Place Market. Reasonably priced, variety of glasses and bottles. Though none of them really struck my fancy. Was a little disappointed by their minimal selection of eats(crackers, cheese, and some meat), and while I did not love enjoy of my wines, I loved the atmosphere and that it wasn’t as packed as the usual spots nearby.

A very late review, but a friend’s recent visit to my favorite city reminded me of the great time I had here with my sister and bf while doing our typical tourist rounds of Pike’s market. We were looking for a place to unwind and relax with some adult-beverages, and didn’t think we’d find such a quaint place in the midst of the touristy area. It was a great place to try lots of local wines, they offer packaging and shipping services, and have a stock of old board games to play while you sip. Overall, a fun stop if you need a break from the bustling crowds or cold!

My first visit here was September 2012, and I would give that visit five stars. I was back in Seattle in mid February 2015, and was really excited to revisit The Tasting Room. I’d give the experience negative stars, which average out to two stars overall. I arrived early in the afternoon on February 17, and grabbed a seat at the already crowded counter. The attendant was stocking shelves or something, and finally came over. I explained I wanted to taste one of their flights, and started asking about the locations of the some of the wineries. She seemed really annoyed at my questions; I finally explained that I was going to Woodinville later in the week, and didn’t want to taste any wines here that I might taste there. Feeling more than a little unwelcome, I decided to cut my losses and taste their four whites for $ 10. The attendant poured all four, and then disappeared to stock shelves again. I worked through all four wines, and when she reappeared, she asked how I liked them. I said something innocuous, but pointed out that I thought one of the wines was oxidized. Her response was, «Oh. OK.» And she left to do more shelf stocking. About 15 minutes later she returned. I said that I was ready to pay up and leave. She again asked me what I thought, and I told her what I thought of each one(not that she cared), and said, «And again, this one is oxidized.» Her reply this time was, «Yeah, that could be.» REALLY? You’re serving oxidized wine and you don’t fix it? At least now I can avoid this venue on future visits to Seattle, which will be more frequent now that I’ve moved to the West Coast.
