Thank God the hipster/yuppie scum hasn’t turned this into a chic fad bar. This is a basic neighborhood dive. Period. Don’t expect ferns and brass. Don’t expect guys with huge beards in plaid nor wet behind the ears tech industry zillionaires. Do expect a bar that still has an aroma of tobacco past and gallons of spilt beer and other distilled liquids. Expect also walls plastered with 80 years of memorabilia, 99% of it not PC. Expect curmudgeons, young and old. Do expect generous sized drinks and food servings. Maybe not as fast as McDonalds, but what else better do you have to do with your time? Put down your damn iPhone and chat with the person seated next to you at the bar while you wait. And before some tin-badge government agency regulates places like this out of business.

ohhhh i wanted so badly to like this place. maybe it’s supposed to be mediocre and i just didn’t get the appeal? i’m not sure. maybe i ordered wrong — i had soyrizo and eggs. my girl had french toast and it was just alright. my dish was supposed to come with«spicy black beans» but they were super lame and tasteless as fuck. i also ordered my hashbrowns extra crispy and they were still a soggy mess. we got irish coffees. coffee with whiskey poured in, no frills. tasted like shit. i’m not much of a drinker to begin with so w/e. i had heard great things about this spot. i thought maybe even if the food wasn’t good it would have an awesome atmosphere… i got weird vibes in this joint. the seattle chill was strong in this one. maybe the best part about this place is that it’s open when no one else is? i guess your food doesn’t have to be the best if it’s the only thing available and all of your patrons are drunk as shit.

Very bad service. Server was medium built caucasian male, short hair was extremely rude and did not make us feel welcome! And as we were leaving he said. Yeah its much better now that these people left. That’s messed up. Idk maybe he had a bad day.

I can tell you right now that this place is much different than your typical restaurant or even your typical bar. A lot of people may not like it and there are a few blatant reasons why. Others, like myself, wouldn’t mind coming to this place again just cause nothing about it really bothered me. When I looked up this place on Unilocal,I read some reviews and tried to understand what people were talking about. They play super loud music from their jukebox and if you are looking for somewhere that follows Forbes standards, this is not the place. They’re really casual with how they go about taking orders and delivering food, but at no point were they rude during my stay. When you order happy hour items, they require you to buy a drink as well, but it doesn’t have to be alcoholic. I ended up getting a cheeseburger and fries with an iced tea. For as cheap as it was, it was actually really good. They menu looked really good as far as their other items, especially breakfast, but I honestly can’t pass up a $ 3.99 burger. The service wasn’t too bad, but they only came to check up on us once which kind of sucked. When you go to the men’s bathroom, you can see a view of the Space Needle which is actually pretty strange, unique, and cool all at the same time. I don’t mind the loud music, the casualness, the bluntness of the place itself. If you want to go somewhere that’s open 24⁄7 and has good food, this is the perfect place to go.

It’s like they took my playlist off my phone. I’m a bit of a weirdo and this place was perfect for me. It felt like home the moment I walked in. Good beer, bar food and even better music. What’s not to like? (I could also be incredibly biased though because they had an aladdin sane and storm trooper picture on the wall. Boy, did those win me over)

The staff was super friendly, food was delicious(get the corned beef hash) and the attitude and décor was non-PC and very fun. 5th star earned for two specific reasons: 1) juke box is top shelf(seriously, best I have ever seen/heard) and 2) they properly refused service for someone who was being very impatient(hangry?) and asked the potential patron find another restaurant if they could not be patient because there were plenty of others around. He left. Love this place. Not enough like them in the universe. God Bless 5-Point.(Salutes)

Not only is this the worst food we had whilst staying in Seattle it could well be the worst food I’ve ever had in the United States of America. The waiter was lovely UNTIL we complained about fries and pasta being cold, he said he would be right back with more and almost 15 minutes later when we had finished our burgers he turned up with new fries. And seemed so so offended when we refused them. When we questioned the bill he pulled the«I am the manager card». The one star is for the beer because honestly it was really really good. But the food was diabolical. The reviews do say it’s a dive bar Id go one step further and say it’s a complete dive. Springs gone in seats, loud heavy-metal music. Just not a good experience all around. Currently en route to Cheesecake Factory…

Was here last Friday, my boyfriend and I were in town for our anniversary. We found 5 Point randomly after leaving the Space Needle. Our mission was — GRUB&BEER. We found it! Maybe my opinion is skewed because I live in ridiculously overpriced San Francisco but I couldn’t believe the prices. I spent 10 bucks on 2 pints of beer and a delicious burger with fries! I was literally full for the rest of the day OMG! I’m use to spending 10 bucks on just burger, no fries or drink and shitty customer service(way to go SF!). Jason our server was friendly and super chill. For several reasons my boyfriend and I want to move to Seattle but this was definitely the spot that set the tone for the rest of our Seattle trip. I fell in love from this point on. Good price, good food, good people. Please go here! —- well unless your bougie =)

This place was great! We loved it. We actually planned to go to a different restaurant; however they stopped selling breakfast ! So we popped right on in it was kinda packed so we picked a table right outside. The menu had 2 pages of breakfast items. We asked if they were still selling breakfast(it was 8pm) our server said we sell breakfast all day and all night BREAKFASTFOREVER! how exciting, my kinda place. The waiter was busy hustling like 8 tables and remained nice and on point. My friend got the 5 points french toast which was pretty good. The batter was supposed to have baileys and kahlua in it but we could hardly taste it. I got the Chicken & Biscuits with the gravy on the side. The chicken was BOMB but the biscuit was a little dry, probably because i got the gravy on the side. The STAR of the whole meal was the POUTINE, it was absolutely amazing and you should definitely order it!

I became a different and wonderful person all because I visited this hideaway! Came here for a birthday drink. Place is dark, I like. Place had extra character, I like. Place has tons of stickers on the wall, I extra like(I have a small sticker problem.) The regulars, I like. I especially loved our tender of booze! You could tell he didn’t want to like us but I could see the teddy within! I cracked that nut and when we finally left, we got a smile from him. Service was spot on. Prices are nice! This is a special divey place, my favorite type of bar. Unique would be the term. I wish I had tried the food but next time I will belly up to the bar, shoot the shizzy with my boozey tender and devour a delectable dish!

I was just here an hour ago. Stopped in b/c we were in the area and have good memories of the 5 point. I was excited to get some late night diner food and a drink or two like the old days. Well we walked in and sat right at the diner top. 2 «servers» walking around and talking to other diner top customers. We sat for 5+ minutes with no acknowledgment at all. Pretty pathetic since we were sitting right in front of the staff! So finally the white kiddo with a hat on gives us menus and pre filled water and says he’ll be back. Well since it took so long to get a greeting I tried putting a drink order in but he just repeated he’d be back all«nice» and snappy. Come on. you’re not even that busy and you can’t take a drink order of a gin and tonic and rainier? Get outta of here and take that dick outta yo booty at the same time. no need for snappy crappy service. Sooooo of course we left, who knows if we ever would’ve gotten food before the sunrise. I didn’t realize I was on the hill… tsk tsk 5 point

Nice… what a great way to get breakfast at dinner time and enjoy a nice brew too. And these guys are open 24 hours a day. I’m not going to say that my steak and eggs was divine, but at least I got to enjoy it out on the patio with a nice frosty brew.

Our favorite breakfast hang when we get done partying in Seattle. Everything on the menu is great, especially the chicken fried steak.(We ate hours ago and are still stuffed) They have a dive bar vibe and are wildly proud of it. And there’s a fabulous view of the space needle at the men’s urinal. Touch of class for sure. If you need a pick-me-up try the Bloody Mary or Man-mosa!

I’ve heard about 5-Points for years. Finally went in for breakfast this morning. I think I’ve found a new favorite. I’ve eaten here exactly one time and eaten exactly one breakfast entrée. Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. and it was top drawer… massive. meaty. smothered in a tasty, meaty sausage gravy… good hash browns… One damn good breakfast… Good enough that I’ll be back to try all the rest. Add to that nice quick service and regular coffee refills… Exactly what a good breakfast joint should be. Plus the place is a dive bar and has a nice list of breakfast drinks. so if you like to tip a couple with your bacon and eggs. this is the place. Easy to find where the monorail turns in Belltown up by Denny.

So I should start with the food… I got a burger that was OK except that the cook didn’t bother to remove the paper between the cheese slices and I got a big ol’ bite of parchment paper with me meal. Also, barely an apology for this but don’t worry: it gets worse. Watched the waitress scream at and completely belittle a «street person» who I hadn’t even noticed until the chick went bananas on her. This«street person» was a small older woman who was carrying about 3 poinsettia plants.(I’m guessing to sell them). The waitress yelled«are you soliciting my patrons?! Get out!!» She then proceeded to scold patrons who talked to the woman outside. My husband and I were disgusted and haven’t hesitated to pass the story along. I will never give this place my business again. Sit down.

Has a nice fun dive bar feel and the staff are really nice. Service was great! I imagine it being a fun spot if you come at a time other than 3pm… The food left a bit desired, but was decent. Not the place to go for a gourmet meal. I got the corned beef benedict with hashbrowns. The benedict was pretty good, though the hollandaise was a bit rich. The hashbrowns were huge and crisp on the outside but had a rather rubbery texture once you get into them. They were also absolutely flavorless– I had top cover them in a lot of stuff…

I love a good dive bar/diner. Went there Sunday around 2pm and got seated at the counter. I ordered the Cedar St. Omelette with a side of black beans. Served hot and delicious. Loved the hostess Jordan she was so friendly and funny. She suggested I have a shot of Fireball with my meal and that just made the meal perfect. The staff is very friendly and I felt right at home.

After bouldering, my group of friends and I wanted some later-night diner food, and, after finding several other options closed, my buddy suggested we go here. I was a little hesitant to stroll into what looked like more of a late night bar than a diner, having just come from bouldering and still wearing very short shorts. However, once I saw the true Seattle hole-in-the-wall décor and the patronage of the 5 Point, I was more at ease. I liked the feel of the place: dark, a muffled loudness, and the light from the space needle filtering in through the big windows facing the street. I got some coffee, which was pretty weak(had three cups), and ordered a Cedar Street omelet. Good thing the hash browns were so good, because there wasn’t much of an omelet. Every day except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, omelets and scrambles come with unlimited hash browns, so get anther plate! They had Bonache on the table, which is fantastic and made the meal that much better. My friend got the Hickory burger and added a fried egg, and her friend got a veg hickory burger with veg bacon. They both liked their burgers, though the friend commented on the buttered bun(greasy, to her), and the tasteless fake bacon(that’s what you get…). But my friend said the bacon on her burger was«the most luscious» she’d ever had — thick and juicy. She really liked her meal, so I assume she would rate at 4. My buddy got the breakfast burrito — a huge beast drowned in sauces. Looked good to me, and he scarfed it, so I can only assume it was pretty good. Water was replenished often, coffee was a struggle to get more of at first, but was better once the place got busy. We came in around 9:30/10, and there were only two tables, and left about midnight from a packed house. Not a bad place, but get something other than an omelet.

This is a fantastic dive bar. Good music. Lively conversation. I came in late after a flight, nothing else was open. And I am sooo glad. I got the beer battered Halibut, with coleslaw on a bed of fries. Coleslaw was crispy and cold and the tartar sauce fresh. You can probably see in the picture, but the fries were wilty. Probably from sitting too long. However, the fried cheese curds more than made up for it. Beachers cheese curds, in a beer batter, with aioli. The waiter brought me honey and I didn’t understand why. But seriously… eat it with the honey. I almost didn’t get it because of the price tag,(I am a table of 1) but it is so very worth it. It was a big enough basket to share with the table next to me. And it is the vibe here that allowed that to happen. Welcoming. Chill. Rockin. Strangers sharing appetizers. I’ll come back for breakfast. Again and again. If for the«warning» to a-holes on the menu.

I read the reviews but the negative reviews didn’t stop me from coming because I knew I would fit in just fine. The food was excellent, wholesome and filling. I had the Tilikum(so?) which I chose 2 French toast, bacon and eggs. I really liked my waiter. He had a likeable personality. I hope to be back here in the future.

Ok, 5 Point, you’re a keeper! I vaguely remembered coming here on my very first trip to Seattle — we stumbled on it and thought it looked pretty awesome/divey, and it was! This time I did some sleuthing and worked out what it was called and checked the Unilocal reviews(much better!) Bestie and I were craving some solid, simple breakfast and The 5 Point had us covered in a big way. We seated ourselves and the friendly server quickly came with water and to take our orders. I went with the huevos, because how can you ever resist huevos on a menu? The food arrived quickly and oh heck yeah it was definitely what we both needed. The eggs were cooked perfectly and I quickly smooshed my entire plate together — freshly made guac, fresh salsa(with fresh jalapenos!), sour cream, black beans, cheese, and all! The flour tortillas were tasty and made for a good base to soak up all of the deliciousness. A quick shake of hot sauce took it over the top and into heaven land. I also tried some of Bestie’s hash browns and they were PERFECTLY crispy on the outside — seemingly hard to do with shredded hash browns! We were near the jukebox which was a bit loud for a Sunday morning, but you’re at a dive bar so it’s to be expected! Overall this was a killer experience and exactly what we needed. 10⁄10 would return again!

Terrible service and low quality food. Food: Ordered the meat 3 way and marathoner omelettes. The bland omelettes came with non crispy soggy hash browns and brunt bread. Also this place is definitely not a café or diner atmosphere. It’s a rusty bar atmosphere. Service: I ordered togo here on a Sunday morning and had a terrible experience. I called to make my order and less than 5 minutes after I called back to make a very simple change to my order. I wanted them to change the bread in one of the omelette orders and the lady on the phone give me such a hard time. She told me the orders were all ready but it’s been less than 5 minutes. And even if they were, swapping out the bread for different bread isn’t that difficult. After a lot frustration and back and worth she said okay, nothing about charging me extra just an okay and hung up. I got to the place and had to wait awhile before I got someone’s attention. They gave me a bill and charged me extra for calling them twice(and I ended with all brunt bread) and charged me a «to go» fee. I’ve never heard of a to go fee before. When I asked the waitress about it, she give me a terrible attitude and said yes of course. I was way too hungry to argue but I am most definitely NOT coming back.

My friends were staying near the Space Needle, so this was a perfect walking distance. A little bit of a dive bar, meets strong drinks, meets jukebox, meets perfect diner-like food. Our drinks were strong — a little pricey, but worth it. We got the poutine — the gravy and fries and cheese curds is the perfect ticket to go with your drink. And bartender Dan is a nice guy. Not bad, I’d appreciate it if it were a little cleaner and less greasy, but maybe the place would have lost its appeal.

This is more of a review for the female bartender that was on duty this past Christmas night. I didn’t get her name, but she left a great impression on me as this was my first visit to the bar. The food, drinks, atmosphere, everything was reminiscent of my favourite hometown bars back on the coast, but I really appreciated this young woman for handling a shitty situation brought on by some already– inebriated guests who stumbled in and within 5 minutes began assaulting my fiancé. Had she not stepped in and quelled these idiots with utmost professionalism, I would have lost my shit, so thank you for that, and for just generally being great at what you do.

I had heard great things about this place and my boyfriend said it was a must after it was featured on «The Layover». We came in on a Sunday morning around 10am. Our waitress was on the dry side to begin with. We ordered two mimosas which were big which we liked ;-) We ordered our breakfast plates and waited a long to receive our food. The table next to us which was a group of 6 people received their food before us which didn’t make any sense to me. Waitress never let us know if it was coming up or what the hold up was. When food was brought over I didn’t like that my eggs and sausage was directly served on top of my pancakes. They were big pancakes but perhaps a bigger plate would have been more appropriate. There was a misunderstanding with my boyfriend who ordered«chicken and biscuits» and waitress understood«biscuits and gravy». She was not attentive to see if things were ok, so it was a while before I was able to grab her attention to let her know of the mistake. I noticed she was also waiting on people at the bar. I think the place had a great vibe and décor was awesome, but they are clearly understaffed. The food was good and correctly priced for neighborhood, but there is definitely room for improvement.

I lived across this place and visited many times a week. Now when I visit Seattle, I go at least once. They have the largest chicken fried steak I’ve ever seen, and it’s the bomb! Their omelettes are big, and come with a huge portion of hash browns and toast. When you first walk in, you’ll want to leave, because it looks like a shady, rough crowd, and some of them are, but their motto is «Alcoholics serving alcoholics since 1927». Yes, they sell the shirt that says this, I have one. It’s a dark, divey place, which has a bar on one side, and restaurant on the other. The place is loud, dirty, and unique, I wouldn’t like it any other way, and no other place can get away with this. Blue plate special meatloaf is great, breakfast is great, and chicken fried steak is awesome. Large portions, fair prices, and they serve alcohol!

Dive bars are dive bars and The 5 Point Café is what it is. The place is great for some hearty, greasy, feel-good food. It’s right of Denny and 5th, on the corner under the Monorail and close to Fisher Plaza. It’s got all the qualities of the diviest, kind of grungy, loud music, unique décor. Would recommend the fried Beecher’s cheese curds(OMG). I tried the poutine and wasn’t a huge fan of the gravy. Part of the 5 stars also goes to the service. Amazing servers, who you know are just Seattle classics. Loved this place, loved the food, and definitely want to come back for happy hour.

This review is for happy hour because I think if I paid full price I’d be a little disappointed. But I loved the décor, the divey atmosphere, and the large diner menu. Truly, best of all was the happy hour prices… 3.75 for a(very decent) cheeseburger and fries??? Another 3.75 for a gin & tonic? I felt like I was time traveling to SBA(Seattle Before Amazon). Still, I don’t think I’d come here for dinner or anything, as the regular menu seemed overpriced. They also have a breakfast happy hour from 6AM to 9AM that looks good, if I was ever in Belltown that early…

Went after watching the fireworks at the Space Needle. Service was slow but they were busy so that’s understandable. I gave 3 stars because my salad was missing the croutons(–1) and cucumber(–1). Gave up asking for them after 3 tries and ate my salad. If you were my server for the 2 hours we were there and you’re wondering why none of us tipped you, that’s why. The small salad was big and too much for me. I couldn’t imagine a big one. The staff was all nice. We enjoyed our visit and will be back. Edit after the owners comment: Why would anyone tip after receiving an incomplete order and not having the order corrected after asking 3 times? In reality we should have gotten up and left without touching the food. We only stayed because it was 3am and they were busy. If it’d been the day time we’d left after asking twice. Being«busy» isn’t an excuse for poor incomplete service though. Regardless everyone liked the food and the staff were nice. We will be back.

The biggest dive that I’ve found in all of Seattle so far. I think that the 5 Point Café is the oldest greasy spoon in all of Seattle. Nestled on Cedar street just off of 5th Ave in the shadow of the Space Needle, this hole in the wall joint sits next to a small park area littered with the homeless. A sign in the front window that once read, «Cook on duty» has been modified with a piece of black tape making it now read, «Cock on duty». Entering this café is like walking into my aunt and uncle’s basement rec room. A bit cluttered, a bit cozy, a bit filthy, a bit noisy, a bit nostalgic and a bit comforting minus the hanging cloud of cigarette smoke which I’m sure used to be present before the new smoking laws went into effect. There is a bar on one side of this place and a small dining room on the other. It looks a lot bigger from the outside. They are open 24 hours a day so you can always get a hot meal no matter what time it is and the coffee was fresh. I had the corned beef benedict and was happy with my choice. I think I’ll be going back to the 5 Point pretty often now since I am an all night Über driver. This place has won my affection. Thanks for reading.

Breakfast Happy Hour!!! I honestly didn’t even know that was a thing. Now I’m kind of unhappy that I know about it as I can see this becoming a regular thing. More exercise will be needed to compensate. The breakfast sandwiches for UNDER $ 3 were stellar! Thick-cut meaty smoky bacon with fried egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin — delish. We had a bloody mary and a mimosa($ 5 each) and they are NOT shy on the portion sizes, nor the actual alcohol content — be warned. We decided we needed to try a short-stack of pancakes(UNDER $ 4) after the sandwiches just because and were shocked when this plate with two GIANT fluffy pancakes came out. Way too much food, but really tasty. Go. Don’t think about it, just get up a little early, call a friend, and have a little mimosa for breakfast.

Divey eclectic people’s bar I think sums up the 5 point pretty well. There’s plenty of ‘regulars’ here and you’ll find that out quickly. Everyone’s friendly here, staff included. It get’s busy, it can get rowdy… just expect it. Also expect a fun time. Bras are hanging from the ceiling, boob photos adorn the bar, rock music blaring. If that’s not your thing — they don’t want you here ;) I like this place for their breakfast offerings, happy hour, and late night shenanigans. It’s open 24 hours so what’s not to like? They have both an early 6−9am HH(breakfast) and one from 4−6pm(dinner noms). $ 3.50 for a cheese burger and fries… or a half nachos… quesadilla…I mean really?! Where else can you find that in Seattle?! PLUS, it tastes good. I was satisfied. For 2 beers and a burger my tab was around $ 10. Freaking score.

Located in Belltown, this is one quirky and punkish restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the lighting is dark and dim, the walls are lined with interesting décor, and loud music occasionally blares from who knows where. If you have been to a divey bar, imagine that divey bar vibe transformed into divey diner /restaurant vibe. Service is quick and attentive and the wait staff is pretty friendly. My friends and I came here for a quick brunch and overall, we left the place stuffed and satisfied. Got seated fairly promptly and from there, we proceeded to order poutine as a dish to be shared and I ordered the corned beef hash eggs benedict. Poutine itself was a bit below average, especially if one has tried poutine from places like Vancouver, BC. The fries were hot and crispy, and the gravy was very flavorful. The only thing that wasn’t executed well was the cheese. Instead of the cheese evenly melting throughout the fries… all we saw was a huge gunk of cheese gathered in one corner of the plate(as you can see in the picture). No matter how hard I attempted to scoop some of the cheese onto my fry and gravy, it proved to be a difficult task to do unless you physically rip a part of the cheese and eat it. As for the eggs and benedict dish, the corned beef hash turned out different than from what I had expected. The beef itself was more of a ham like texture, thinly sliced, and a bit salty. The sauce used on the eggs were so so but I guess if you combine it with a bite of the beef, it was a balanced taste. Hashbrowns were a little bit on the greasier side but it definitely does fill you up quickly. Prices were average($ 10−15+) and overall, the portion of the meal is just large enough to make one feel full. When you’re done eating, I recommend(at least for the ladies) to see the restroom. Yes, it’s a bit dirty but highly amusing to see the various messages/graffiti on the wall. If you’re looking for a place to eat and somewhere interesting to observe, stop by this place for a hearty brunch meal or dinner. =]

The 5 Point Café is a bar and food joint all in one, with surprisingly excellent vegetarian options. As you walk in, you hear some rad music playing, see people getting their day off to a «quick» start, and immediately notice all the stickers covering the walls. I was visiting the Space Needle area with a friend, and wanted something filling. I almost didn’t enter because the outside of a bar doesn’t exactly scream«Welcome, come eat.» I ordered the soyrizo and eggs. My dish came with a healthy serving of black beans, hash browns, and tortillas to make little burritos with the egg and soyrizo scramble, all for under $ 10. I was pretty impressed. The soyrizo and eggs were pretty flavorful. It was salty from the soyrizo, but not overwhelmingly, «Hey, here’s some processed food and it has sodium,» The black beans were plain, but when mixed with the scramble and put it in a tortilla, gave great body to the whole dish. I ended up asking for Tabasco sauce and ketchup for the hash browns, which is typical of a Philistine like myself who can’t appreciate potatoes for what they are. My only gripe is that you only get two tortillas! Overall, I was impressed with the number of vegetarian options on this bar’s breakfast menu, and very pleased with the soyrizo and eggs. You have to wonder when the place turns from a bar to a café and then back to a bar, and when the place gets cleaned in between. Maybe that’s too existential, like the proverbial question about which came first, the chicken or the egg. It definitely didn’t feel sticky or smelly like a bar. I’d return if I were looking for a filling breakfast in the downtown Seattle area.

Want to have a great breakfast or dinner and get a drink on? Like dive bars? Want a place that is interesting, has great music, has fun food choices, and fun staff? Try the 5 Point Café for a brunch or dinner, or when winding up an adventurous day. I wouldn’t say they were super clean, or that the food comes out super quickly, but what a great place to have a fun time. Interesting art and stickers and signs and photos lined the walls. They have good beer choices and some different stuff on the menu. At one point we had bacon fried in a chicken batter and served with pork gravy. But to make up for the cholesterol they also offer some good vegetarian options. I really didn’t expect to find such a cool spot so close to Pikes market, but it turns out Seattle is full of cool spots.
