Best Tea shop in Capitol Hill. Great location ! Especially now that the light rail is has been added it’s right there. Very quite atmosphere and great place to grab some tea before meeting up with friends. Great tea selection as well.

This place offers great customer service and creatively crafted tea blends! I came here after eating a molten chocolate cake at Hot Cakes. I didn’t know what I wanted and the girl helped narrow down some choices for me and even let me smell the tea! They have a huge offering of teas kept in glass jars that you can smell and buy by the ounce. I ended up ordering Strawberry Fields. It was the perfect drink for a hot Seattle day. The drinks was really refreshing with a subtle sweetness to it. The best part is that it has caffeine! It kind of tasted strawberries and cream but less sweet. If I had more time, I would have enjoyed my drink there. It’s a very calm environment. Great for meeting up with a friend or reading a book.

Ahhh! Their drinks are so creamy, lightly sweetened. just perfect! Their tea is no joke and they don’t compromise their ingredient quality. Please don’t ever change that! What I love most about this place is how quiet and zen the atmosphere is for students to get shit done. Also, this place has won me over as it boasts plenty of outlets, comfy/clean seating, and fast wifi. Docked one star because while the bathroom has a nice design, it reeks of urine and I wasn’t so sure about its cleanliness. It is kind of difficult to find cafes with decent bathrooms in the U-District.

Edit: The management was kind enough to reach out to us in response to our review. Today(4.2.16) we tried Tea Republic for the first time. While we really enjoyed our iced tea, we were pretty annoyed at how rudely we were treated by the two women working there. After we ordered our drinks, we could hear them mocking and making fun of us because we weren’t sure which flavor of tea we wanted. It caught us off guard because of how openly they were talking badly about customers, not realizing(or caring) that everyone there could hear them. This is less of a review of the drinks themselves and more a message to the management of our bad experience today.

Came here with a friend to get some work done. They have free wifi and comfy seating, which are my 2 main criteria. Added bonus was that the lavender cream earl grey tea was absolutely amazing! Creamy and just the right amount of sweetness(they make it with brown sugar and honey). I got it hot and the serving size was huge – got me through a few good hours of work! So glad I found this place. Will definitely be back for the tea!

They were kind enough to let us smell each tea and walked us through the different options. I ended up with the pear and my bf the tangerine. If you had tevana before it tastes very similar except more fruit flavors. The cold tea taste is still there though.

to go food: the lavender earl grey. some say lavender tastes like soap, but i love it. the drink, not soap. the milk makes the tea creamy and the lavender and bergamot plays well together. ***5/5 service: it’s a bit dark and it has space for people to sit around and hang out. there isnt a tea culture in seattle so it was pretty empty. plus i bet most people order it to go. there was only one guy working and it took a bit longer than i would expect for a drink. ***4/5 value: it’s more expensive than the stuff you get at the seattle based coffee shop, but it tastes so much better. however, the flavors are completely different, so it’s not a fair comparison. it’s worthwhile and i cant wait to try the others. ***4/5

The best Tea Republik location! The owner is friendly, caring, and passionate. My friends and I always come in with a pretty large group but he never fails to accommodate. At the UW location, it doesn’t seem as consistent but whenever I come here I’m positive that my drink will be on point! love the French pear milk tea and the Malibu Kiss.

As a dedicated coffee drinker, I pretty much only ever go to a tea room over a coffee shop if someone else suggests it/wants to go there. It is on one such occasion that I wound up at Tea Republik. Our large group put together a few tables and took over a section by the wall. The place wasn’t overly crowded since it was a weeknight, and the owners were totally cool with our group shenanigans(read: loud chatter). And then there’s the matter of tea. I got a small pot of the lavender cream earl grey, and it was to die for. Creamy(but not overly so) and very rich with lavender flavor, it was one of the best tea-drinking experiences I have ever had. As much as I want to get this again the next time I’m back, Tea Republik has an extensive, well-equipped menu that I should probably take advantage of instead of drinking all the lavender earl grey in sight.

Lavender earl grey milk tea is the best! I am not a coffee drinker, am a tea lover. I have some favorite cafes that serve tea in Seattle. However this lavender earl grey milk tea has been the best for years. It has a perfect lavender flavor with right amount of sweetness. The café is smaller than the one at University district but more quiet.

I would give this 5 stars if they only had boba!!! But that’s bc I’m addicted to boba, the drink itself is good. I ran here the other night since I was in the neighborhood to catch them before they closed. Gotta echo previous recommendations that Lavender Earl Grey is really tasty — and great iced when you need to cool down from profusely sweating from running: P

Great atmosphere! There’s couches, tables, and tables for larger parties. Tea republik offers tons of teas hot or iced, and a few snacks. I had the strawberry fields tea with soy, ahhhhh my most favorite tea to date. My partner had lychee jasmine and it was also great! We will definitely be back.

To everyone that says the tea here is amazing… it’s true, it doesn’t get any better! There is a wide selection of tea here. I usually stop by during lunch time to get some work done and its one of the best places to do so. The décor overall is kind of dim, but there is lighting at the tables which is pretty important. The couple that run the store is really REALLY friendly. They knew my name after a few visits, which can be kind of odd at first, it just shows that they care for their customers. If you need a quiet place to study/read/get work done and feeling tea this is the place. Highly recommend it.

This is now one of my favorite tea joints in Seattle. I’m not in love with the décor but the tea is just SO good that I can’t even knock off a star for the ambiance. They have a lot of unique flavors and the quality is just stellar. Probably not a place that I’d hang out in for a long period of time, but I definitely will be back next time I’m in Seattle. Tea Republik offers a great ambiance and large selection of tea. Despite it being in the middle of Capitol Hill, the place was surprisingly quiet when I stopped by tea on a Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of places to sit(although only a few tables were at normal dining height/comfortable and the remaining seating were high table teas which are a little too high to be comfortable or couches which made you sink a little bit too low). When I was there a couple of people were sitting there working on their laptops and it was actually quite nice, quiet and just peaceful. You walk in, grab a menu and order at the counter. The cashier let me take my time to look through the menu and pick whatever I wanted. He was polite and courteous when confirming what I wanted(whether it was medium/large, iced/hot, with cream or soy milk, etc). I ordered a large Lavender Cream Earl Grey iced tea($ 5ish excluding tips) and it was aromatic and not too sweet at all. Pretty refreshing and nice that the lavender scent wasn’t too overpowering either. Given that they have such a huge selection of tea, next time, I will probably try something else. I wish they have food other than croissants/bakeries, too. I stopped by hoping to try their hot dogs, too… only to find out they only offer SE Asian style hotdogs only from M-Sat(not Sundays!). Oh well, next time then! :)

First time here and I love it! There are so many teas to choose from! And the workers here are really nice! My friend personally knows them so that was cool. We ordered the lavender earl grey cream tea and it was super yummy! Tasted really pretty! Lol. I love the interior of this tea republik! It’s really zen and calming~ it’s located right in the middle of cap hill too which is convenient! :3

This is the first and only milk tea place I visited on my trip to Seattle. This place was conveniently close to where I was staying so I decided to try it out with my boyfriend. The milk tea place was placed on a strip along with many other eaterys. The décor inside was nice and very asian. They have nice chairs and tables, good for groups. They also work behind this glass in front of racks that held all the jars of tea they use. It was impressive how many jars they had, but they didn’t have my favorite, the jasmine dragon pearl tea. I ordered the house special: that’s what she had with soy, and my bf got the earl gray lavender mt. I’ve never had anything like this drink before. It was refreshing, not too sweet, a little on the watery side but the taste of the drink was nice and different. I didn’t really like my bf’s drink since I don’t like earl gray tea/lavender, but HELOVEDIT. The workers here are silly and nice people, and they make good drinks! They were also open on July 4th!

yay! another tea place! As much as I love coffee, I will always be more partial to tea!(sorry coffee). They sport a fairly wide variety of teas from traditional teas to fruity flavored concoctions. Many of the teas can also be iced if you that suits your fancy. I actually really like this location much better than the original location in the U district on the Ave. That location can get a little rambunctious with the younger crowd in the U district. This location has a nice peaceful atmosphere and a pretty decent seat to power outlet ratio for lap top users. medium pot of tea will be just over $ 4 and you get a good amount of servings from it to share. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Hours are decent with closing time at 10pm on weekdays and 11pm Friday and Saturday. drop by for some tea!

I went here a few weeks ago for the first time. The environment was nice and the staff very friendly. I love tea and while I liked the environment here it wouldn’t be my first choice for tea. I would much rather go to Xiu Xian Tea, Remedy, Kuan Yin Teahouse, Miro, Smacha, Experience Tea, Floating Leaves, etc. I was hoping for a larger puerh selection and I believe they only had one or two. I was also hoping for some dedicated gluten-free snacks but they didn’t have any. Seemed like all their treats contained gluten, dairy, sugar, etc. They didn’t have timers like all the other tea houses I frequent so that was a little odd to me. Timing for tea is important. Since they just opened I hope they will keep growing and that people will support their business. When I’m on the Hill I tend to gravitate toward Remedy the most where they have lots of puerh choices and gluten-free vegan treats I can eat.
