Hate to give this place only 2 stars. Was my favorite restaurant place in Seattle… hands down. They changed chefs and my corned beef hash was nearly inedible. In the past, was world class. Shame.

Finally checked high tea at the Georgian off of my list! Been meaning to do this for the longest time and it definitely was worth the wait. We had a work meeting and finally decided to organize it here. There are some private rooms available where you can have your meeting. There is only one room for a smaller party(12 and below) which is an extension of the actual dining area; the chandeliers extend into this room. Other private rooms are bigger, but are not located on that floor and thus don’t have the same decoration. There is a menu with the list of the items you get in your three-tier dish; a bunch of pastries and some small bites(we had the smoked salmon, chicken tarragon and a crab sandwich). Every two people share a one pastry dish. You will have your choice of tea as well(we had a choice of green tea, pineapple and orange, black tea). The staff are super courteous. The pastries were really good, although I wanted to see at least one type of macaron in there. The blueberry scones were really good. The presentation is definitely the best part of this whole high tea experience. It is just too glamorous. The price tag though, is a little bit over the roof. It was $ 55 per person, but considering the fact that you are sharing the pastries, it was just too expensive. It is definitely something you would want to try at least once. It is a perfect get together for girls. but to do this on regular basis, would be a huge expense on your hands.

Review of Mothers Day tea service PROS Pretty restaurant! CONS I called ahead to make a reservation for mothers day. It was $ 75 per person which seemed ridiculous but figured it must be worth it. When prompted about special food needs I mentioned a member of our party had a jaw disease preventing her to eat solid foods. I was so thrilled with the womans response: she went through course options and that she would take care of it and make sure the chef prepared her something special. We got the restaurant and this is when the mess began… they«knew» about the issue and literally asked if she wanted pureed sandwiches. WTF? no forethought had gone into this but when the rest of us received the food(same as mentioned below, 4 «sandwiches» the size of my thumb, 1 oz berries, one scone) we realized how minuscule the food offering was. I am actually insulted by the whole thing. We arrived at 3 so maybe it was full at some point in the day but there were approx 5 other groups total in the whole place. With the amazing food options in Seattle I am annoyed with myself that I even thought this would be a good idea. Don’t bother coming here– it is beyond not worth the price. If you have any special needs you may face the same massive let down we did.

Elegant, sumptuous atmosphere. They refer to you by name, «Mr. ___, may I help you with our menu.» Nice touch. When you travel, the relentless anonymity gets old. I stopped in for breakfast. I was wearing what I wear when I plan to fly all day, including flip flops. Not an issue, even though everyone else seemed to be clad in suits or upscale casual. Maybe I am so handsome I had them at «hello!» They have a continental buffet, which looked great, but I passed, opting instead for the homemade corned beef hash, eggs over easy, well done rye toast. Coffee and juice(fresh orange and cherry mixture) were immediate. The corned beef was clearly home made, juicy and shredded, not chopped, which was a surprise. It was mixed with potatoes and peppers and molded into a sort or round cake shape. On top were my eggs. Looked appetizing, and was delish and way too much to eat. Maybe I should not have eaten the toast, but ooh those little jelly jars on the table were screaming at me «try me!» I am glad they only weigh luggage at the airport.

This is a review of their Afternoon Tea service. The afternoon tea here is fantastic, but quite pricey at $ 39 per person. For that each person gets a tea service featuring their choices of nearly a dozen different black and green teas. For food you get a pair of scones(ours were still warm in the middle), 4 different tea sandwiches, 4 different small sweets, and a small serving of berries. We found the food to be great, and quite enjoyed the variety of snacks. Put together, it’s enough to fill you up. The downside is that no single item you get really justifies the price — there’s nothing extravagant on the menu. However, it’s all really, really good, and served in a way that makes for a relaxing afternoon meal. If the price doesn’t strike you as too much for an incredible afternoon tea service, then by all means this is great! The restaurant is quite elegant, brightly lit, open and inviting. It’s definitely got the exact kind of ambiance that fits with having a fru-fru high tea. *I’ll note that if you stay at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel(where The Georgian is located) on AmEx’s Fine Hotels and Resorts program, they offer a $ 100 food/drink credit with your stay, which is perfect for enjoying the tea service«on the house».

The ambiance is wonderful, the service is good, the food mediocre at best. We ordered the High Tea for Sunday brunch at $ 40 per person and received our choice of high quality loose leaf tea(cherry rose green tea is delicious), a small martini glass with some fresh fruit, and a three tiered display with assorted scones and finger foods. The bite sized foods are underwhelming for the price but we did not leave hungry. These were not flavorful or high quality items. Personally I would recommend avoiding the High Tea and instead choosing an item off the breakfast or lunch menu. The food variety and value seemed better — an ideal way to enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful Georgian.

The Georgian is located at the bottom floor of the beautiful Fairmont. The restaurant is well lit, open and spacious. We arrived around 10am for a late breakfast and immediately were seated. There were about 6 other parties that were there. We ordered the Continental Buffet. The food options are located on a table in the middle of the room. There were croissants, bread, 3 types of parfaits, smoothies, and fresh fruit. I really enjoyed the strawberry parfait and the almond croissant. We were served coffee and the juice-of-the-day, which was apple blueberry juice. The juice was refreshing and not overly sweet. The Georgian is a beautiful place to sit down and enjoy food.

I came here for tea service, and would not willingly go back. The tea service is $ 40, not including tax. You get a choice of one tea, which comes with a small pot, so three cups worth and an arrangement of bite-size snacks. Thinking that this would be enough for lunch, I didn’t eat prior, which was a mistake. I highly recommend eating a light meal or snack before tea service as I found that the food offerings were smaller than expected and one of each item, besides the scones, which you get two of. Although most of the food items were tasty, none of them were good enough to be memorable. They also ask if you would like still or sparkling water — which even if you get still water, they will charge you since it’s bottled. That was a surprise to us when we received our bill. The service though is great. The servers are very attentive and are accommodating if someone has a food allergy. If that is the case, they will replace food items to meet your dietary standards. Also, since we came here for my friend’s birthday, they did bring out a plate of chocolate-dipped strawberries with a candle for my friend, which was really nice. If you do come here with a large group, be sure to make reservations ahead of time. For parking, there is a designated parking garage for the Fairmont Hotel across the street on the side of the building(can’t remember the street name). For an hour it’s 10 dollars, and two hours is 13 bucks, and of course, rates increase the longer your duration. There is valet service, yet not for tea service, only for dinner. If you choose to valet it’s 30 bucks.

I’ve had dinner and high tea as well as seen a Luly Yang show at the Georgian. All were good experiences because I had good company and decent food. Located in one of the Fairmont Hotels, I’d expect the food to be remarkably expensive, the ambiance to be upscale, and the servers to be courteous and prompt. I got them all during each of my experiences there, but by no means is this a restaurant I would frequent. The afternoon tea was one of my favorites because of the variety served on the tier and unlike most places, this one actually serves a palate cleanser, a whopping 4-tier of hors d’œuvre, and tea. The wait staff was prompt, made last minute accommodations to the menu even though I know they dislike last minute warnings, and was not pompous. It’s the experience I appreciated and enjoy(even if it’s expected). On a whole, I’m glad I’ve never had a bad experience.

We came here for high tea to celebrate our friend’s 30th birthday. This was the first time I went upstairs to the actual hotel/lobby area. I’ve only been to the Penelope and Beauty Bar that’s located on the ground floor of the building. The hotel lobby is absolutely beautiful! We ended up spending some time there taking selfies and other pictures. The restaurant itself was also very beautiful and classy. We got seated and were asked to choose from a variety of tea selections. We each chose our own tea which they brought out promptly before our food came out. We started with a fruit cocktail dish and then they brought out our own three tiered high tea food items which consisted of scones and sweet and savory bite sized treats. Each item was hit or miss for us. The macaron for instance we assumed was going to be sweet but ended up being savory. Looking at the food when it first came out we were worried we wouldn’t be full but at the end of the meal we all realized everything was quite filling especially with the two sizable scones. High tea was a little on the pricey side here but I think it’s worth it for being such a nice restaurant and a great place to have a girls brunch or just for celebrating something.

Afternoon tea review only. The space here is very cute for afternoon tea. Feels like I should wear a fancy hat :) I called ahead for reservations and also to specify that my friend is a vegetarian in which they prepared a set for her that did not have meat. Same price of $ 40ish a person. Semi high for what you get, but honestly it is within the range of my other afternoon tea experiences(out of state/country). Food overall was pretty good/decent. We stayed for quite some time and didn’t feel rushed even though they were wrapping up afternoon tea time. Though service wasn’t particularly special. I told them beforehand that we were celebrating an occasion and there was nothing offered. A cool note/or scribble on the high tea set would’ve been a nice gesture. For two, they have some seats where it’s just a love seat type of seating with a table, which was kinda cute for close friends or couples. Definitely came here for the ambiance though and I think it’s a high selling point for this place!

While planning my Seattle itinerary, I stumbled upon an article from a couple years back naming The Fairmont Olympic Hotel as one of the best hotels for Afternoon Tea. Built on what was originally the site of the first campus of the University of Washington, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel is one of the Seattle’s most celebrated historic landmarks and a premier luxury hotel home to the award-winning restaurant, The Georgian — an elegant AAA4 Diamond restaurant featuring French-inspired Northwest cuisine and Afternoon Tea. As a big fan of tea, I was sold and just had to figure how to get my friends on board. But being such awesome friends, they were up for anything; including their very first Afternoon Tea. Lucky for them, it will most likely be the grandest and most elegant they experience as The Georgian is a splendid setting with high ceilings, large Palladian windows and spectacular chandeliers. The Georgian offers two tea menus: the Traditional Georgian Tea($ 39 per person) and the Olympic Tea($ 49 per person) which is the Georgian Tea plus your choice of a glass of Prosecco, Mimosa or Kir Royale. We were feeling super fancy so we opted for a glass of the French cocktail with our tea. As we sipped on the bubbly, we took in the scents of some of the loose leafed tea offerings. The cherry rose, a vibrant green tea, was delightful, but as a fan of black tea, I selected the 1907 Blend — a luxury black tea with hints of oak cask and a dusting of delicate citrus created in celebration of the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Centennial Anniversary. Our savories(Smoked Salmon Roulade, English Pea Macaron with Minted Goat Cheese Filling, Truffle Deviled Quail Egg, and Tarragon Crab Salad), house made blueberry lemon scones, and desserts(Chocolate Coconut Cube, Lime Sugared Churro, and Fruit Tart Cherry Rose Tea Shot) were presented beautifully on tiered trays. My favorite savories were the quail egg and crab salad. I could have easily eaten more. The delicious scones were perfect in texture. The sweets were all delightful, but I favored the perfectly bite sized lime sugared churro. While the tea exceeded all my expectations, I was so happy that my friends had the best time as well. They loved the fancy experience and I was delighted to introduce them to it. Afternoon Tea at The Georgian is available Monday — Friday: 11:30 am — 2:30 pm and Saturday — Sunday: 12:00 pm — 2:30 pm. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling The Georgian directly at(206) 621‑7889. The attire for The Georgian is smart casual, but a jacket is not required. A children’s tea menu is also available upon request. Menu items are subject to change as they reflect the latest seasonal ingredients.

Atmosphere: 5 The Georgian is beautiful, the dining room is just so exquisite and the soaring ceilings and décor make you feel special. The tables are spaced well apart so you get privacy from other tables. It’s really breathtaking when you walk in, one of the prettiest dining rooms in Seattle. Definitely make a reservation, as it does fill up for lunch. Food: 2 I had the king salmon burger with garlic fries and a chicken chop salad. Although I really wanted to like it, I wasn’t a big fan. The salmon burger, I expected it to be a fillet, but it was a patty — which I didn’t want. And the lettuce was shredded iceberg, which has and always will scream ‘cheap’ to me. Apart from that, I thought the burger was pretty dry overall, and I didn’t finish it because I got tired of struggling with it. The fries were thin and cold and not crispy because they had gone cold. Rarely do I not finish fries but I didn’t with these. The chop salad, I had a few bites, but I left it mostly uneaten, which again, is rare for me, but it was awkward to eat and didn’t look very appetizing. Maybe I got an off dish? But I was severely unimpressed. Service: 5 The waiter was so friendly and truly, excellent, fast service. All the little touches are appreciated. They have an afternoon tea service, which I will definitely plan on. But I was so unimpressed with the food, I will likely not be back for a lunchtime meal.

Pretty pretty place for that high tea! Pinkies up, ladies and gents! I’ve been to a few too many get togethers here. Be it girls day, a spa day, birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers and everything in between, this place deliver! Atmosphere– stunning room with rich décor and high ceiling. It’s all so very off white and classy. You can come as dressy as you want with big hats and dresses to tshirts and jeans. Not sure what the dress code is but I’ve seen people in all different kinds of outfits. Food — I have yet to dine in here for lunch and dinner. But I do love the food/pastry/snacks from high tea! You get all kinds of tasty treats like cucumber sammiches(my favvv), scones, chicken Waldorf salad, tarts, puffs, cakes! So many little bites of many things! For a taster like me, this was perfect. All I want is to go into a place and get a bite of everything they offer! Two bites If I like it! Well three if I love it. And I had more than one bite of things here :) Oh and you always have the option to make your afternoon tea bubbly! Extra $ 10 gets you some bubbles! And I have never denied that option! And if a spa visit downstair is part of your plan for the day, they’ll call the spa for you incase if you’re running late. To sip, swirl, tasty and swoon with your girls over pretty things? You can sign me up any day and twice on Sunday’s!

Went for Dine around Seattle, so this review is purely off of that menu. Appetizer: French onion soup It was overly sweet. The cheese was a bit on the chunkier side. The broth didn’t taste too bad, just sweet. I think it needed more salt to balance it out. Entrée: some kind of chicken(I forgot name) The chicken was dry and was a small portion. The pita bread was burnt, so I didn’t eat it. The rice was rice and went well with the chicken. Dessert: I don’t even remember the name lol I remember it tasting like white/honey wine(it had some wine in it), it tasted good for awhile but then overpowered everything. It was like a wine sorbet over a lot of fruit. When I got to the fruit I expected a refreshing taste, but I got more wine. The balance needed some work. Also, there was a poppy cake, which tasted fine. Experience was okay. I think if I go back, it’d be for the afternoon tea than the food.

Ate here for Seattle Restaurant Week. I highly suggest making a reservation, the restaurant area isn’t too big and it can get full. I totally felt like royalty eating here(or even just being at the Fairmont makes you feel special). Our waiter was very attentive to us. Because it’s Restaurant Week, lunch was only $ 15(entrée + dessert). Appetizers: Crab Cake(so good, lots of crab in the cake) and Creamy Clam Chowder Entrée: Adult Grilled Cheese(fancy looking, although i expected more than 2 pieces. Hubby really wanted grilled cheese because it’s grilled cheese day) and Salmon Steelhead with English Pea Risotto(so good and the salmon was cooked to perfection!) Dessert: Lemon Meringue Pie. I really want to try their afternoon tea next. There was a special party that came through and got to be in their private room. Everyone was dressed up super fancy with long dresses and what not

This place is gorgeous, with fantastic service and delicious food. We came here to celebrate my mother’s birthday while she was in town, and we had the high tea. The menu’s set, but you do get a choice of tea from a pretty decent range. After we made our selections they came out pretty quickly. Also, they have actual sugar lumps. So awesome! I’m a huge fan of cute and fancy little food things, and everything we ate was delightful. The scones had a lovely texture and came out still warm, and everyone had their own little pots of jam and cream. Yum! The sandwiches were delightful, and I really liked the choux pastry thing with the cream cheese inside. There wasn’t any egg salad or cucumber finger sandwich to be seen, but that was fine, as the smoked salmon was delicious, and the shrimp was really well done. The top tier was a bunch of little sweets, and I loved the little poppyseed cake with the raspberry injectible. So fun! Too bad my syringe went straight through the cake and oozed raspberry sauce all over my plate, but it was still good. The mint macaron had a lovely texture, with a really delicate, thin shell and then a slightly chewy inside. The cheesecake and chocolate pop was nice too, but a bit too rich for my liking. The staff were gracious, polite and informative. There’s a lot of little things on the high tea plate, and they took the time to go through and tell us what each thing was, and noted where there were things that some of the party might have been allergic to. Our waters and our teas were refilled regularly, and even the teapots were topped up with hot water during our meal so we could have hot tea throughout our stay. The place is quite fancy, and definitely one worth dressing up a little for to make it a special occasion. We left feeling full from all the tasty little treats, and would definitely consider coming again when we have something else to celebrate!

My first time visiting Georgian for lunch! The restaurant felt very elegant, and I loved the high ceiling, chandeliers, and lighting! I wouldn’t say that the staff is over-the-top friendly, but they were extremely courteous and timely, and the service was well-paced. I tried their Dine Around Seattle option, and had the clam chowder, buttered chicken, and the chocolate caramel tart. Presentation was on point! The plating of my friend’s salad was even fancier than my soup. Everything tasted yummy, but my absolute favorite was the chicken! It was the most tender, moist, and melt-in-your-mouth chicken I’ve ever had!.. why couldn’t there have been more??! I could not rave more about that chicken. Wasn’t a fan of the naan though. thought it was a little too dry and tough. Although I filled up on the three courses, the portions definitely did not allow for leftovers, so it might not be enough food for some people. Another friend mentioned that their regular menu is better than their Dine Around Seattle menu, so I’m tempted to come back!

Always heard positive things about the food but superb things about the service. Finally had a chance to try it out during Dine Around Seattle and it did not disappoint. Everyone has to try this place at least once. The Georgian is within the Fairmont Hotel: a grand historic building with beautiful architecture. The interior is dripping with chandeliers. The entire feel of the hotel is rustic and warm. The restaurant has high ceilings with chandeliers and big, soft curtains, and the room is very elegant and open. We were seated at a spacious booth immediately at our reservation time. The tables were spread out nicely where it felt like a private dining experience(hate restaurants that are too cozy with tables). Our waiter was very kind and no one that we encountered seemed one bit pretentious. We received a couple complimentary snacks including fresh bread and tortilla chips with four different kinds of butter and salted caramels at the end of our dinner. For the Dine Around Seattle deal we got the following: Appetizer: 1. Mountain Morel Mushroom Consommé with duck confit, duck egg and black truffle — Light broth. Love the feeling of breaking the goopy yolk of an egg. 2. Hamachi Crudo — Probably my favorite dish of the night. The duck crackling added an extra crunch. Packed with flavor and the fish was fresh and tender. Entrée: 1. Smoked Black Cod — Lightly smoked and juicy. 2. Filet of Angus Beef — Cooked more on the rare side, but the meat was super tender. Paired well with mashed potatoes of course! Dessert: 1. Chocolate Hazelnut Verrine — Presentation was perfection. It was creamy but not too rich. 2. Yuzu Lavender Cheesecake — It looked too pretty to eat! If you like lavender, this would be a dish you would enjoy(the floral flavor was pretty strong). Overall, the food was phenomenal. Presentation, flavor, texture — everything came together well. I want to reemphasize how much service rocks here. Plates cleared ASAP, crumbs cleaned off, staff constantly checking in to see how we’re doing but not in a way that it was annoying, and waters were consistently filled. I recommend this to anyone looking for a spot for a special occasion. I also need to try their Afternoon Tea!

I brought my boyfriend here for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday morning in January. I’ve been here for Restaurant Week lunches twice before, and the breakfast menu looked just as good. Parking: We parked hella far away on 4th& Marion because there was no street parking near the Fairmount. There isn’t much documentation on parking for the Georgian, but I think I read that parking could be validated depending on which meal and occasion(normal menu vs. Restaurant Week), but don’t take my word for it. Just park hella far away like we did. Reservations: They use OpenTable, hooray! We were running late, so I overcame my fear of talking to real life human beings on the phone and let them know, and they graciously pushed back our reservation by half an hour. We greatly appreciated that because it took us about 10 minutes to get to downtown and another 15 – 20 minutes to find parking hella far away. Food: We both ordered the American Breakfast, which is Two Organic Eggs Any Style; Hashbrowns; Bacon, Ham or Sausage; and Choice of Toast or English Muffin; Fresh Juice, Starbucks Coffee, or Selection of Teas(copied from their website, edited with semi-colons to make the options more clear to the reader). I ordered the sausage option with sourdough toast and green tea while my boyfriend ordered the bacon option with some sort of toast that I can’t remember and grapefruit juice, which was absolutely delicious. Service: The wait staff were attentive, one of them taking amazing photos of us upon my request when our food came out. Ambiance: Sophisticated, elegant, grand, romantic, intimate, gorgeous, spacious. It is seriously one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever been in. The windows are super tall, the curtains and drapes are elegant. We sat in a grand couch side-by-side because that’s our preferred style of seating when dining. It was perfect. And extremely quiet. Attire: Due to the upscale ambiance, you’d think that you’d have to dress up to dine here and feel in place. I wore a white lace dress with brown booties. My boyfriend wore light jeans and a navy T-shirt(–___-). However, there were patrons wearing jeans, sneakers, and sweatshirts, so he didn’t feel too bad. But the Georgian is a grand, upscale, classy place, and one should dress accordingly. Payment: I saw online that this restaurant took the Microsoft Prime card for a complimentary second entrée, but I didn’t read carefully at the little ‘L’ and ‘D’ icons for lunch and dinner, so unfortunately, breakfast did not apply. Also unfortunately, they were closed for lunch that day, hence the absence of lunch-time reservations. Side note: As of 1÷1÷2016, dinner is no longer served at the Georgian. That makes me incredibly sad because I can imagine an elegantly romantic dinner here. Overall: One of my top five favorite restaurants in the world. Highly recommend.
