My first time at this restaurant, there was 5 of us ladies. Service was amazing. Not once did I need to ask for more water. The staff was on the ball, we had the staff smiling, laughing and loving our table. We had the crab beignets, risotto, house smoked salmon salad, mussels, burgers with foie gras, duck egg and fries. Our meat was cooked perfect along with the eggs. The waiter did forget an item or two but was promptly taken care of. Can’t wait to go back to try more things.

First visit! I was seated at the kitchen counter as I was by myself. It was fun to watch, but at one point, the different food smells became a bit overwhelming. I went for a full experience: house Manhattan cocktail, wine, crab beignets and pork chop with risotto. Each course came out quickly and cooked to perfection. The service was professional and friendly. The chocolate pudding dessert with sea salt was exceptional. Great option for lone diners!

I never noticed Loulay in downtown despite passing by it so many times. I figure this is a business lunch/dinner type place. I had a very lackluster lunch, although on a positive note, it doesn’t need to be really expensive, unless you want it to be. They have a variety of salads, entrees, and combo’s available, alot of available seating, and pretty quick service — perfect for a business lunch. I wanted something light but delicious, so I ordered scallops… and then foie gras. Both were very mediocre — the scallops were tough, and the sauce was overly buttery. the flavors didn’t really work. The foie gas was pretty good, but when is it not? If you are there for lunch I would recommend ordering the burger with foie or sticking with a salad, rather than venturing to the steak(looked tough) or seafood.

Made a mistake and meant to come here for brunch but ended up only getting lunch. The space is very nice, spacious, and airy. Tons of great light even on a dreary winter day. The menu was small but offered some good options. The burger was the favorite of the table. Portions were a little on the small side with the prices being a little on the big side. I would absolutely love to try this place again for brunch or perhaps a special occasion dinner.

I ate here several times with colleagues and everyone enjoyed their food and service. We recommend the crab beignets, French onion soup, and the risotto! Dishes that were fine but not«amazing»: salmon dinner entrée, and the foi gras appetizer. One thing to make sure you get is a pour of Pappy Van Winkle’s bourbon for only $ 18, a great price for bourbon enthusiasts!

This is best of French cuisine with a northwest twist at price that’s reasonable without a pretentiousness or attitude. I recommend the farmer’s breakfast, eggs Benedict or or the French omelet. Great food and great price.

I came on two successive days for breakfasts with groups of people. Loulay’s breakfast menu looks like one that you might see in the dining room of a fairly upscale hotel.(Is this restaurant part of the Sheraton??) The standard main dishes like a French omelet or waffles tend to cost around $ 14. If you order coffee or orange juice with your breakfast, that’s probably an add-on.(I didn’t see the final bill.) For both breakfasts, I ordered two eggs with bacon, potatoes and toast. The bacon tasted a bit over-cooked(burned) to me, but everything else was A-OK. On the day of the second breakfast, a friend took me out to Loulay for lunch. Two meals in the same place on a single day — YOLO! We ordered two sandwiches — the bacon sandwich and the pastrami sandwich — and shared the two of them 50 – 50. Both were quite good! Had I come only for this one lunch, my rating would be a 4. My two breakfasts were 3s, so we round down to 3-stars for the average.

Every entrée, dessert, menu item is tasty. We try to order different things each item so as to try out a variety of things and it’s never disappointing. Service is of course always great too with knowledgeable and professional staff. Interior is so pretty too. I love the design of the restaurant. Definitely one of our faves when we are in town for a show or the like. French onion soup is a must. I also enjoyed the scallop tartare and chicken. Crème Brulee was delish and my hubs enjoyed the beignets.

Everything was on point to the greeting, service and food. Definitely coming back here again. Lots of other good looking dishes to try. Hamburger with foie gras was delish. Mussels with frites were just as good. My MIL had the polenta and she ate it so fast. She was impressed Pic posted

Great reviews on Unilocal so imagine my surprise during my visit that the service was off a bit. A bad day? Computer issues? I have no idea but the food was quite good and the décor right up my alley and given I didn’t have a meeting after lunch, I could tolerate the delays in service that occurred. But on another day this may not have been the case. Popped in for lunch on a busy Friday. The tables were full so I grabbed a seat at the bar. The guy next to me at the bar was far more welcoming to me than the hostess(was there a hostess, the woman running around was clearly flustered about something) but he was a bit irked as he had been waiting an hour for his burger to come up. An hour? Did I have that much time, I wondered? So as I looked at the menu, I decided that I wanted a Bloody Mary to enjoy as I read the menu. Should have been an easy request but I guess they were all out of mix and had to pull it from a larger jug so there was quite the delay with the first drink. Oh-oh, thought I. This isn’t starting off too well. My food fared better. after a bit of a delay with the first course. I went with the french onion soup(delicious!) and the special of the day which was a small salad served with a piece of salmon over black rice risotto. Tasty and only $ 24! A real steal! And while the soup was slow to arrive, whatever kitchen issue they were having must have gotten rectified as the rest of the meal was timed well. So many interesting things on the menu that I would have loved to try. Too bad I wasn’t in town for a longer period of time. And don’t let the fact that this is connected to the Sheraton make you think this is a hotel restaurant. It’s not. In fact– it’s a chef forward concept that I found quite intriguing.

I had such an exquisite experience and everything from the cocktail to dessert was absolutely flavorful and made to perfection. The staff were very attentive, courteous and ensured the dining experience was at its utmost best from start to finish. I had the grilled salmon which melted in my mouth, accompanied with fantastic flavors, made it one of the most flavorful salmon dishes I have ever eaten. The Paris-Brest dessert was absolute mouth-watering deliciousness paired with a cappuccino, completed an unforgettable fabulous French cuisine experience!

I went here for brunch because it was one of the few places that opened early on a Saturday morning in Downtown Seattle. There wasn’t much of a wait so that was a plus. I love the décor in here!!! I think the food was just okay. Considering that we went for brunch the portions still left us hungry. We ordered the smoked salmon omelette as well as the steak and eggs. Out of the 2, the smoked salmon omelette was a better choice. Both came with a slice of toast that were semi burnt and potatoes. I just didn’t feel like there were much flavor to the food.

A very cool place to have dinner before a 5th Ave Theatre show– I recommend parking across the street for $ 7 from 5pm-midnite. We had flavorful mussels in a nice cream sauce, braised ribs(lotsa meat!), crab beignets(only 3 per serving but yum), and good ol’ thin cut fries. The servers were always positive and checking back on us, and made sure we had all that we needed, including the bill when we needed it so we could make our dash out the door to catch the curtain. Definitely will return here.

Had a great experience here on a Saturday afternoon. I was walking on the way to the nearby parking garage and passed by here and thought why not have lunch here. I heard that they have tables for a single diner. But on my visit they didn’t have the upstairs open yet so I sat at a bar table next to the window. The bartender was my waitress. I had a citrus sunrise for my drink which was very refreshing. It’s grapefruit and cranberry juice with tonic. I also had their beef burger and added on foie gras and a duck egg. This was the best burger I had ever had. It was juicy and so flavorful. I would definitely get this again. The décor was classy and I felt underdressed as I was wearing a tshirt, jeans and flip flops. But the staff didn’t seemed bothered by my attire. They hand your bill to you in a book that you can make comments about your experience. I will definitely be back for their burger.

Located in the Sheraton Hotel. Tiny bar so when it’s happy hour you might not find a seat. Dinner is good, a good selection. Dessert menu not the best. Service is good. Was nice to see the chef interact with guest. You don’t see that often. Pics on Instagram @amanda.n_

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here Saturday night with my wife before a play at the ACT. We were seated on the second floor overlooking the main floor which provided a quiet and more intimate atmosphere. The cocktail menu and wine list were both interesting and diverse, my wife choosing a glass of wine while I had a cocktail. We each had a wonderful starter, my wife the fried feta salad while I had the heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella. Both were amazing, fresh ingredients, nice preparation and presentation. I opted for the pork cheeks, a smaller second dish, while my wife had the cod entrée. Once again, the food was cooked to perfection with incredibly fresh ingredients and lovely presentation. We chose to skip dessert until after the play so have no feedback there, but enjoyed a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere with top notch service. We’ll definitely be back again based on our great experience.

I loved Rover’s and I love this place. I tried the crab beignets, feta salad, mussels, charcuterie plate, and a heavenly seared foie gras. All were very, very nice. For the main course, I had a delicious Northwest seafood stew with fish, clams, flageolet beans, seafood sausage, and a wonderful broth. A Januik Chard made a nice pairing. To top it off, Chef Rautureau came by to ask if we were enjoying the meal. The only negative was the obnoxiously loud F-bomb dropping patron in the next booth. Being the kind of person that I am, on the way out I had to call his attention to his lack of manners. As for the restaurant, I will definitely be back.

My hubby and I decided to go out to eat downtown, and we decided to try out Loulay because it was near where we parked and we always drive by this place when we go to the our usual parking lot. We were greeted and seated just as we came in — it wasn’t too busy for brunch. My hubby and I both ordered the salmon scrambled, which was very tasty and really good. My only issue was that service was so slow! I don’t know what it was, but it took a while for our waiter to come and take our order, and I even noticed that people around us who came in way after us and who put in their orders after us got their food before us, so that annoyed me. Otherwise from the service, I wouldn’t mind going back again and trying something else off the menu — granted if I notice slow service this second time around, then I probably won’t be back!

It’s a beautiful space. I loved the combination of old, modern, and urban in the details. It was very cool, too, that the chef was present and interacted with guests for most of the night that we were there. Service was stellar. Our server — didn’t get his name, unfortunately — was one of the most articulate and attentive I’ve had. Food, however, might pale in comparison to what is offered by many other restaurants in the city, especially for the price. I had the crab beignets and the burger. I thought they were just okay. I’d rather eat the beignets at Toulouse Petit and the burger at Brass Tacks any day. I didn’t have a bad experience here, though, so I might try it again someday.

Updating my review and dropping a star… What a bummer! I was obsessed with this place the first time we ate here and unfortunately did not have the same experience on our return. We had a 2 hr window between our rez and a show at the Paramount and got crunched on time because our service was so slow!!! We started with the bread, crab beignets, mussels and fries, then I had the burger again and my date had the halibut. Bread and beignets, great. We were sat at 6pm and didn’t get our second course — the mussels — until past 7:20!!! The waiter apologized about the wait 20 mins after they cleared the crab, and we waited at least 20 mins more until we got them. They were delicious, so there’s that. They also gave us a decanter for our Leonetti which we brought so appreciated that. My burger was not the love affair I remembered. I always ask how the chef recommends them cooked, and they said medium rare — which is what I had last time. This was not Med/Rare… This burger was rare. I was pulling uncooked and cold ground beef out of the middle of the patty. Halibut review was satisfactory. We did have to hightail it out of there to make it to the show on time and only just made it before doors closed. Will likely give it another try but not in a hurry to go back after our last visit.
