I came here with some friends late night. This ice cream shop feels a bit gritty like the rest of Capitol Hill. The cash register looks like one of those old timey ones.
There was only one guy at the counter so he was doing all the ice cream and all the cash register work. This resulted in him being a bit slow.
I got the salted caramel ice cream. It initially tasted extremely salty but the flavor kind of mellowed out after you ate some more. I’m not sure if I would get this flavor again. The consistency of the ice cream was fine though.

BEST peanut butter ice cream EVER! This place may look not as nice as say molly moon. but the ice cream. so delicious! I buy pints of the peanut butter ice cream. and finish it myself. starting from the walk home from this place: P
Yes sometimes the wait can be a little long b/​c they only have one person working but it is worth it.

Soooo amazing ice cream (personally, I think it’s better than «the other one» down the street).
Creative flavors, people are kind, no yuppie vibe.

Bluebird has great ice cream! I sorta forgot about this place but I am so glad my friend reminded me of it. I hate waiting in that ridiculous Molly Moon’s line! Came here and there was no line, so we got a chance to take our time and sample quite a few flavors.
I ended up getting the Horchata ice cream… very delicious, taste exactly like Horchata! It doesnt matter to me if its vegan, it’s just tasty! Creamy, cinnamon-​y, perfect when it gets a little melted at the bottom of your cup!
My friend decided to get the affogato (a shot of hot espresso on top of ice cream) with coffee ice cream. I’ve never had this before, and I got a few bites and it’s something I am missing out on. It was very delicious! Especially getting coffee ice cream with it, coffee on coffee action!!!
Cool little ice cream shop, some tables to sit inside, they have board games you can play, some old equipment they are storing, a piano too… but you can’t play it unless you have permission.
I will definitely be back to try more flavors and specialty items.
