The food and drinks were great and so was the service. Also, can’t beat the location. Cheers!

Came here with a group of friends and loved the quality of the drinks. Their specialty is Mai Tai cocktail but other cocktails were well made. Will be coming back to this bar, quality service, interior and offerings.

Fun little intimate spot. It’s a bit off the beaten path and feels like a cool speakeasy once inside. The bartenders are true mixologists and take pride in their skills without a lot of ego.

By far my favorite bar in this city so far! I am a sucker for Distillery’s with bars, so this place was absolutely a win! I have been three times now. Once in the late afternoon and once for late-night. I went during the day with a friend visiting from out of town and we received amazing service. Our bartender took the time to explain the two different gins they produce and their characteristics. We each enjoyed a gin and tonic of each variety. The drinks were pretty cheap I thought, at only $ 7 each. When I went back a few days later late at night for a post-work cocktail, the place was very busy! The lights had been dimmed too much more of a bar atmosphere and you could tell everyone was really enjoying themselves. I got a gin and tonic and enjoyed it with myself to celebrate the end of a great work day. The bartender was friendly and the entire staff was clearly in it to help each other. Very impressed with this place

Fun little bar on the western slope of Capitol Hill near Top Pot Donuts and Single Shot. In fact, I believe it’s owned by the same people who started Top Pot. Great drink specials and selection, cool little asian vibe without losing that neighborhood feel/casualness. My only complaint was that there was one bartender and it got crazy busy so it took her a while to get our drinks made. I’m not sure if it’s always that rushed, but if it is it feels like they could have a 2nd bartender for busy weekend nights. But hey, what do I know? Only been here once, and will definitely be back.

It was tough to decide whether to give Sun Liquor four or five stars. I’ve only been here twice, so I’ll start with four and perhaps after a few more visits it’ll become more clear. It is an intimate space, rectangular, with about 10 or so small tables and room for about 8 at the bar. It is dimly lit with a bit of a speakeasy atmosphere, and borrows from Hollywood regency in it’s décor. The bar itself has a bit of a classy feel from the vintage metallic beer cooler to the large citrus juicer. Along with the laid back crowd, allowing you to hear the people you’re drinking with, this place won me over big on it’s vibe. But we don’t visit bars just for the vibe and the company, we go for some drinks. They have a small list of signature cocktails, but obviously, you can ask for what you want. I got the one bourbon based cocktail on the list. I don’t remember what was in it, but it was really smooth and tasty. Next, I got what I thought was just a simple whiskey and ginger beer, but it tasted superb! For it’s simplicity it was also adorned with a cherry and orange twist. Sounds good so far, so why the lack of the fifth star? First, the space is pretty small, busy, and not great for a large crowd. Even as a small group of four, we got lucky to sit at a table for two and snag a couple loose bar stools until we grabbed the slightly larger table next to us. However, as we did, we noticed a disappointed group on the other side of the table that must have been eyeballing the same spot. The service was very friendly and professional, but drinks were churning out slow, despite the sole bartender at the moment(on a Saturday night) churning them out as fast as he could. The prices were about average for a cocktail bar, $ 10 – 13 mostly. No food, but nobody said anything about the pizza we brought in from next door. Overall, intimate cozy space, striving for a classy look, great tasting drinks, but can be cramped, difficult to find a spot, best for couples, not good for groups over four, average priced, and can be lucky to find a seat on the weekend. I am looking forward to going back, but might go on a weekday. Will probably have to Über though, due to difficulty finding parking in the neighborhood. I could see this being a go-to spot for people who live nearby and like higher end cocktails.

Yes! I’m a fan of this little Hawaiian looking lounge. A friend and I came on a Thursday night and it had just the right amount of people. Just enough to have good energy, but not crowded. I got the Deshler, which was good, but my friend and I wanted something a little stronger. We left it up to the bartender and he came back with some delicious cocktail that we both enjoyed but honestly I don’t remember what it was. I don’t really remember much after that besides the bartender being one of my best friends that night. I’m super basic. Anyway, if you’re in the area, check it out!

They have a special aged eggnog on Christmas and Christmas Eve! I stood in line for an hour to get in on Christmas Eve. As tasty as it was, was there supposed to be alcohol in it? I didn’t taste any and didn’t feel it. I’m not upset about that, since it was some of the creamiest, smoothest eggnog I’ve ever come across, but for a $ 11 drink, I’d expect some alcohol to be in it. They don’t have food, at least not when I went, so get your noms somewhere else. Top Pot doughnuts is next door, as is Single Shot, and it’s a short walk to Broadway where there are plenty of other food establishments. It’s a small space, and didn’t realize it, but it’s Hawaiian themed. Love the tiki bars. Don’t bring a big group, most tables are 2 to 4 seats, and you won’t have much space to maneuver around anyway.

I really like this place. It’s a dimly lit, intimate bar that has a cozy vibe. The bartenders I’ve talked to have been helpful, and the drinks were good. I went here twice in the last two weeks, and I got a Mai Tai each time. It pretty much tastes like slightly boozy very delicious fruit juice. The freshly squeezed juice made it much better than any other Mai Tai I’ve had. I tried a few of my other friends’ drinks and liked them a lot, though the names are escaping me now. Drinks are a bit pricy, but worth it in my opinion. The times I’ve been there, you order at the bar and bring the drinks back to your seats by yourself. Don’t expect to be waited on.

4.5 star experience for me. The quality of booze, fresh juices and knowledge of the bar staff make for a very rewarding time at Sun Liquor. Not much else needs to be said; just note that it’s always busy so it’s going to take a little time to get your drink. However, all good things to those who wait(or so they say) and the drinks here are 100% worth the wait.

I’m going to have to agree with the other reviewers saying that the drinks lack a bit of kick. The fresh pressed juice is definitely a good part of the cocktail, and the cocktail list is plentiful, with different options for everyone. Fairly small and cozy place, quite dark but that didn’t really matter much. Beer selection was also pretty good in terms of bottles, switched to that after I didn’t want to waste my night away drinking $ 12 cocktails. Great top shelf though, might come back to try that

Hands down probably the best friggin Mai Tai I’ve ever had. Fresh juices mixed with delicious rums… normally I don’t go for sweeter drinks but I gave it a whirl based on reviews… and dang. One tasty drink I must say! The overall vibe is kinda tiki and the place is small but cozy. Being that it’s only a few blocks from my place it’s a nice little stop to unwind.

Nice little lounge tucked away in Cap Hill! Went here for casual drinks and loved everything they had so far. Think our personal fave was actually their tasting menu with 3 little cocktails! The bartender was friendly and even offered tastes to help us finalize our final drinks! Will be back!

While it’s cool to have a lounge in a residential area, my experience at Sun Liquor was just okay. The lounge itself is decorated with Asian inspired art and very dimly lit. There are a few tables that line the wall and plenty of bar seating. Cocktails here are made with fresh squeezed juices, in-house made syrups, and a huge variety of spirits. Their drinks all sound refreshing and hip, but my drink tasted like straight up juice. For $ 10 – 12, I would hope to get some kick in my drink! Should’ve just went with the $ 4 – 6 beers they had… Reading the reviews of this place, I would’ve assumed they would be packed on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, only half of the lounge was filled. They do have happy hour from 5pm-7pm, so maybe that’s when this place is cracking!

My friend recently moved to Seattle and brought us here to grab some post-dinner drinks, and I’m so glad he introduced us to this small lounge to grab drinks. This place is strictly for people to come, catch up with their friends, and drink. It is a more intimate atmosphere so keep that in mind! My favorite of the drinks we tried were Libby’s Mai Tai, Sangria, Affinity, and their Old Fashioned was on point. I would definitely come here again, whether for a date or for a quick catch up with my friends.

Awesome location, we stopped in here because it was Happy Hour and we had some time to kill before our dinner at Altura down the street. The drink prices are extremely reasonable, especially during Happy Hour, this is coming from an East Coaster. The cocktails themselves were awesome, I had at least 3 and they were all great. The bartender was very personable and friendly which is always nice. Next time I am in Seattle I am definitely stopping by here.

Gin Gin Mule all the way! I love this place and love their spirits. An absolute must if you want a hand-crafted cocktail. A nice setting for a quiet drink or three.
