Went to breakfast for the first time this morning because it’s supposed to be good. I work in the industry so I’m pretty forgiving but the server seemed very upset. The one girl with the short poofy hair was walking around slamming things down. She was making you straight feel very uncomfortable. Then I watched the cook who was plating the food and cooking on the grill wearing a green shirt not wearing gloves, and then I saw him pull someone’s eggs ready to eat with his fingers on to their plate. When there he also leaned on the clean plates he was using for people. All whole touching his face off and on and not waging his hands. It just grossed me out. I just think overall they have some Heath issues and some services issues to work out. I even saw them yelling at some of the customers at the counter. Who I later found out was the manager and then the girl who had been slamming thingS got involved by making some rude remark. Then they started yelling. In my 9 years in the service industry I have never seen anything like this. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I will never come back and I wouldn’t either if I were you. If not for to avoid the service but to make sure you don’t get sick from their health code violations.

My wife, infant, toddler and I went to Roxy’s this morning as soon as they opened. Granted, it is a weekday and few people were making this diner their before-work stop. Still, I’m writing this — my first review — to counter just a little bit all of the negative reviews concerning service here. From the moment we walked in, our waiter, Christian, was an exemplar of outstanding hospitality and service. My coffee mug was never empty and my toddling daughter had a soppy cup of water and drawing supplies before we had finished settling into our booth. If we didn’t live overseas for most of the year, Roxy’s would be our usual morning diner as long as they had servers such as Christian. The reason we’re not giving full stars is because the food was solidly okay. We went expecting diner food and we’re not disappointed in any way. Unless we’re headed to a more fancy-times nouveau dîneur, we don’t expect more than the filling, tasty, and fast eggs and starch fare that we received. Thanks, Roxy’s, for being a great first-diner-in-years with awesome staff for some Americans living abroad.

Evidently there is a new rule that if you are a single diner on the weekend you are discriminated against and made to sit at the counter.(I am figuring it is new as I have been there plenty of times in the past where I was seated at a table during brunch on the weekend). I know why they do it but when I went in at 9:30 on a Sunday there were a lot of open tables and no one waiting to be seated.(though that shouldn’t matter either. I am a patron and paying just like any other customer and should be allowed to choose between table or counter) I would be sitting there less than a hour. I planned to eat and get about my day. Not that I need to explain but I hate sitting at the counter as I am short. I have never been to a restaurant where I was given no choice. Last I checked I am choosing to come to you for your service. I asked to speak to the manager who quoted me the same thing. Finally when two other men came in to be seated he just said fine take the table by the door(the worst table in the house because of the draft in my opinion). The other two patrons were like I have never heard of that before and I was like I know right. After waiting 5 minutes, I was getting ready to give up and leave when I was finally waited on. The order was taken and my syrup and butter came out and no coffee. I waited a few more minutes and still no coffee. The waitperson had forgotten and then got me a cup. She was not very pleasant. I will note when I left there were still no people waiting and there were still two small tables up front completely open. Not that this should matter. The food is basic diner food but I love the french toast but the service today was less than to be desired. Might I make a suggestion. When I got to other restaurants on the weekend(much smaller than your establishment), People are given the option of table or counter and it isn’t just assumed because you are single person that you must sit at the counter. I am always willing to wait for a table to open up. Just because I am a single diner should not mean I am relegated to a certain seat. Frankly that is discrimination.

Been here once. Located in Fremont. I think I went in here with too high of expectations from the people that told me about it and I really didnt think it was all that special. I think that the service wasnt that great and the food was okay but they always have lines and people waiting outside. A worth while place that I think I should probably give another try at some point.

We went to Roxy’s this morning for brunch, and we weren’t disappointed, but we weren’t wowed. The food was good and the mimosas were affordable($ 3). Their menu had some unique items on it. The food was good, just good, but not stellar. The service was average to slightly below.

The food was average at best — the cheese blitzes were too salty; the home fries were super spicy, and it wasn’t even a tasty spicy; the eggs benedict were super odd. The hollandaise sauce was just not good — I can’t even put words on what the problem was. I’m fine with an average quality diner, but not an average quality diner that has such above average prices. I’m so not comfortable with the amount of money that was spent on such a eh meal. I definitely would not go back.

A New York style diner/deli with a menu full of options from greasy-spoon brunch to pastrami on rye. Everyone will find something to eat here, even the pickiest eaters! Normally there is a 20+ min wait for a table for breakfast on the weekend and your entire party must be there before you’re seated. On a chilly day, pack a jacket because you’ll be waiting outside. Servers are very friendly, efficient, and food comes out quickly. Plenty of tables for big groups, as well as a long counter for people popping in by them self. I’m a simple girl, so I always order eggs Benedict which comes with home fries(a tad spicy) or hash browns for $ 12 – 13. Worth the price and always delicious!

Diner style restaurant in Fremont. Location is great. But food was kind of salty. I didn’t really like it that much.

Very good breakfast and lunch diner-style food. This place is always crowded on the weekend with good reason – they have a large menu with big, classic breakfast and great sandwiches modeled on an east coast jewish deli – but with a west coast spin. My favorites are the latke and eggs breakfast(eggs, bacon or sausage, and 2 delicious potato latkes) and the 2×2 breakfast(2 eggs, 2 strips bacon, 2 sausages and 2 pancakes). Their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are good as well – not quite New York, but close enough. The staff is always friendly and helpful. A few things they could improve: the home fries(the potatoes are always under cooked) and the rye bread for sandwiches(should be fresher.).

I have been searching for a decent Jewish deli since I moved to Seattle in 1995, and have yet to find one. I had tried the one in Mercer Island that everyone raved about, but their food was mediocre at best, but at least it was expensive! I had pretty much given up, but I watched a documentary called DeliMan, and the desire for decent deli re-emerged! So I went back to the trusty computer, and this place came up. I looked at the online menu, and noticed there was no chopped liver, kishkas, or other traditional dishes, but they did have matzoh brei, and latkes(and they called them latkes, not potato pancakes) so I thought I would give it a shot. I went with a friend, who is not a deli connoisseur, but she does like to eat a variety of foods, and we both ordered food to go, as well as a meal for in house. I ordered a chocolate egg cream, and it was tasty, so far so good! We each ordered a bagel, lox and cream cheese plate. They only had poppyseed or cinnamon raisin bagels, so no real choice there, and I ordered vegetable cream cheese, and she ordered feta dill and garlic. I had to ask if the cream cheese I got was really vegetable, as the only discernible addition to the cream cheese was dill! Other than that it was a serviceable, albeit pedestrian, sandwich, that came with a pickle spear. My friend, who had spent a lot of time down south, as well as in New Orleans, had ordered a muffuletta sandwich. The waiter came back to tell her that the sandwiches were pre-made, and the cook decided they were too old and he was not going to serve it to her. While I appreciate his using discretion and not serving it, all I could think was who made their muffuletta sandwiches in advance, and especially so far in advance for them to be overly aged? Also, they had asked if she wanted it hot or cold? I have never heard of a hot muffuletta. She ended up ordering a brisket sandwich and a latke sandwich. I have no idea how they turned out for her, but I do know how mine turned out. I had ordered savory matzoh brei, which basically was matzoh brie made with grilled onions. If I did not know there was matzoh in there in advance, I would not have known by eating it. It was just an omelette with onions. I had also ordered latkes. They were overly cooked, and tasted like grease, with very little potato flavor. I also ordered whitefish salad. That turned out to be very tasty with nice chunks of whitefish, celery and red onions. So, bottom-line, it was not the worst food I have had, but it was not all that good, either. I did enjoy the whitefish salad and egg cream, but I would not re-order the matzoh brie or the latkes. I would never order a pre-made muffuletta sandwich. If I was in the neighborhood, I might stop in for another egg cream and try a knish, but I won’t be making any more special trips down there.

I come here a few times a month and absolutely love the place. Cheap but delicious food, seriously awesome bagels, good coffee(thanks for making the switch!), and some smartass loving servers who always bring a smile to my face. This is a diner, you’re going to get water in a plastic cup and your mug will probably have a chip out of the handle. Your server will be sassy but accommodating and on top of it as long as you treat them with respect. What is so hard to understand about that? Pro Tip: you can order a single of the special pancake if you’re like me and don’t like the main part of your meal to be sweets.

I love Roxy’s. I’m here all the time and it is the best brunch in the city. The ambiance and service remind me of Portland(and in my experience that is a good thing). It is weird inside with amazing art. I always see familiar faces, which makes me think this place must be at least sort of good to their employees. The space is small but the few servers and bartenders work together to make sure guests are covered. The drink and food prices are good, and portions are great.

Classic breakfast options and some new things to try, with a $ 6 double mimosa of course! My friend introduced me to Roxy’s for pineapple mimosas in 2010 and I am glad to be back and have things be the same. I got the deluxe breakfast burrito with Chile and cheese on top, and while it looked mediocre all alone on a small plate, I barely finished it. My partner got the bbq pork sandwich, he needed to ask for an extra side of bbq sauce but it was deliciously tender and peppery. Would love to go back and try a few of the more unique things!

Fluffiest pancakes ever! Sometimes with slogans. Also, cute waiter if you happen to be single:3 If you happen to love the 70s diner vibe, you’ll love it! As an east coast transplant, I also appreciate east coast breakfast themed menu items like bagels and tater tots and ham. They open quite early as well(7am). Usually pretty empty at opening. I like the diner vibe when I want to read something and just relax!

This was our second choice for breakfast. First choice being the vegetarian place down the street(they were closed for their retreat at the time). Unilocal weren’t too strong and usually Jewish food isn’t our forte. I have nothing against the flavors of Jewish food, but it tends to be deli meat heavy and my husband and I try to eat as little meat as possible. But this is Fremont after all and we were delighted to find that Roxy’s is quite vegetarian friendly with some excellent breakfast choices. The atmosphere is very comfortable, yet hip and the menu creative and eclectic, while still maintaining a distinctive Jewish flair. We all loved our meals. I had the Roxy’s swimmers with smoked trout. Really amazing flavors in that dish. My husband ordered one of their veggie scrambles. I can’t remember which one it was, but it was very good. We both opted for bagels with our breakfast. Bagels are not made in house, but are from Seattle Bagel Bakery and they are really good. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Everyone I have spoken to in the Fremont area says this is the place to grab breakfast when you’re feeling a little hung from the night before. I went in with a few friends and sat at the bar area. We were pretty much ignored sitting with our menus closed waiting for service for at least ten minutes. Not great. The food on the other hand was pretty good but it’s nothing super special. I have gotten just as good of eggs and hash browns at IHOP. If I’m back in the area and my buddies want to go I will Tag along but after the service id be willing to adventure to the multitude of options in the Fremont area.

This place doesn’t live up to its name. For my whole life I have lived in the Los Angeles, CA area. I moved to Seattle 6 weeks ago. In the LA, CA area new york Jewish delis are a dime a dozen. After moving to Seattle I was looking for a jewish deli that served matzo ball soup. Unfortunately this is the only ny style deli in all of Seattle. Today I decided to give this place a try which was a big mistake. As I walked in the door this restaurant had a seedy vibe to it. When I sat down and wanted to order a Dr. Brown’s cream soda the waiter said we don’t carry it. They only carry coke products. When I sat down no pickles were offered or bagel chips were offered. The matzo ball soup was as bad as it could be. If your sick I’d recommend buying chicken noodle soup from the qfc or Fred Meyer deli. Now the pastrami ruebin samdwhich was served with sourcrout that tasted old and the pastrami was tough. The rye bread tasted stale. The waiter said there is nothing we can do for you. Then immediately after leaving roxys I had to throw up on the street and had emergancy diarrhea. If you are looking for a deli in Seattle like Brents deli or langers deli in los angeles you won’t find it here in Seattle. My question is where do the Seattle Jewish people go for Jewish deli food?

The breakfast bagel here is awesome. Super cheap, too — something like 6 bucks-ish for egg, cheese, ham. Oh and $ 4 double mimosas: THEBEST. Service was friendly but a little slow, and we had to ask for water refills and silverware. Menu is huge! Will definitely be back to try more of the deli sandwiches. they looked delicious, big servings. Basically just order 3 mimosas along with whatever food item sounds appetizing, and you will have a wonderful time.

Visiting Seattle for the first time and to be honest, what really brought us here was my bf wanted to get slapped by ordering a restraining order(a shot of whiskey and your server slaps you, yes you pay to be slapped) but the breakfast was actually excellent too! I ordered French toast and you know how it’s usually all soggy and drenched in the egg batter at most restaurants? This French toast had the perfect amount of batter and was toasty on the outside and soft, flavorful and warm on the inside. Yum! My bf ordered an EOB,(egg on bagel) That was really tasty and the jack cheese melted in your mouth. If I ever go to Seattle again, this will be my go to spot for breakfast or lunch. This place was starting to get packed at 8:00AM, I can’t imagine how it looks around lunch time. Thanks Roxy’s diner for an awesome experience in Seattle, and for slapping my bf! Ha
