We have been coming here for at least 10 years and love it. I, and my Korean born wife are Thai food lovers who have tried Thai places from Port Townsend to Maine and we have found none better. My daughter lives in Chicago who has dealings in DC whose favorite Thai places require a week notice for a reservation and a 24 hour notice for take-out and she like Rom Mai better than those places. I always order Thai basil fried rice with shrimp and Kyong almost always orders Kee Mao. As far as spice heat goes, she orders 7 and gets it. The owner told us he has a regular(and white guy) who orders a 25 which sounds impossible. I think the staff watches him to see if drops dead. So far he hasn’t. Maybe because we have been coming here for at least 10 years we are always treated like family but I have never seen staff treat anyone badly.

Highly disappointed in this place. I love Thai food and will go and try different ones to compare what is usually called the«Thai Fried Rice»(as it was named here). We came in on New Years Day and we were happy to find that they were opened after going to a couple others that were closed. When we first walked in, we were greeted promptly and got a seat right away. That is just about where the experience became unpleasant. Our order was taken and our appetizers came out pretty quickly(Crispy Wontons and Egg rolls which were great!) Our table of 4 all decided after our order was take that we wanted to order drinks, in which we flagged down the waiter who seemed so extremely annoyed that we didn’t place it originally. No worries, we understood. 3 plates of our 4 came out and the Thai Fried Rice was so extremely bland! I flagged down the waiter that brought our food and asked if more flavoring could be added as it was basically fried rice with no seasoning. He paused and asked me what flavoring I would like, in which responded that whatever flavorings that could be added would be great as I’ve asked a different Thai restaurant and there was no problem. He said he had NOIDEA what I was talking about and paused again. I told him nevermind as I would expect for him to try to remedy the situation by either offering something else or seeing what he could do. He just walked off without another word. NOW, we were STILL waiting on that 4th plate of food which didn’t come out for another 10 minutes and they forgot the rice that was requested. We had to ask the original waiter for it and he begins to tell us that the meal didn’t come with rice… which is fine but it was ordered and he took the order. 2 of the 4 plates were delicious(Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai) I’m rating 2 out of 5 for the incompetent and rude service. Please please treat your paying customers like they are not a burden!

Ok I have been coming to this place for years and I have never been dissatisfied. All of these new imports to The Hill talk about oh so and so prevents this from being 4 star. You are a plague and we all hate you. The food here is and has always been awesome. The orange chicken is an amazing take on traditional orange chicken. The chicken larb is a great dish as long as you do it spicy! And the swimming Rama chicken is exemplary on a bed of rice. Oh and by the way, they can go higher than a 4 on the spice meter you just have to ask. I usually do a 5.

Below mediocre. Poor value overall on portion vs quality. Avoid the stuffed fried wings as they tasted like the box they may have come in. The papaya salad was decent but for one. Green beans good but pork was tough and neither plentiful. Tom Kah soup was poor. I could name 6 – 10 better Thai food places in the area. Staff was friendly.

Solid 3.5 stars, too many misses to round to 4, but all in all, a great Thai place to live near for takeout, and open late. Most dishes are pretty good, but a few hits and misses. I also notice the wide noodle dishes like pad see ew seem to come more broken up than I like. Do: Order tom kha soup try the coconut ice cream Don’t: go higher than 3 – 4 stars — when I’ve asked for 5, I’ve gotten a lot of bitter dried chili flakes get the crab-fried rice — this was SUCH a disappointment. Honestly it’s a testament to my hunger that I ate this dry, salty, but otherwise bland $ 16 dish. get the chicken satay. Didn’t think you could mess this one up… but mine were not very good at all

I met a friend here for dinner on their recommendation and while the reviews were ok, I was not really impressed. The service was just fine, although they didn’t seem to focus on what I was saying they at least got the order correct. The food was just«ok» it certainly wasn’t anything write home about. I ordered the Massaman Curry with chicken and when she asked how spicy I said«10 Thai» and she insisted that I choose a number between 1 and 5, she didn’t understand that I wanted it spicy… Which, of course when it showed up it wasn’t spicy and you could tell they just dumped extra red chili flakes in it which is not really authentic or spicy. While the flavors were ok, the chicken looked boiled prior to being put in the curry and overall it was very runny. When she asked if I wanted white or brown rice, she never mentioned they charge for rice, which is ridiculous. I did get rice, which is a good thing, I needed something to soak up the extra runny liquid but really, you charge for your rice? Unfortuantely I won’t be back, there are many other great restaurants and certainly much better thai places around this city.

So far. I give it 3.5. Had the Pad See Ew. Decent taste and portions and it doesn’t taste bad just not amazing. I ordered it as 3 stars spicy, but it was on the milder side. I also found the noodle portions to have more noodles than Wedgewood which I liked. I’m interested in trying their curries, soups and the pad thai next time. I like that its conveniently close to my place and fast.

Ate here with 2 friends food was very tastey. But i would not return for the simple fact that their portions are very small and the prices are high. I will say this the staff was friendly and attentive.

Average Thai for Seattle. Staff are super friendly but the spicy ratings can be very irregular and food feels more greasy than other Thai places.

One of those pad Thai restaurants that’s hard to find parking for but totally worth it food is great service and the ambience is nice and quiet in the busy downtown Capitol Hill must go and try! Pad Thai no onions and they use the four star system so I get it 3 stars.

4 stars. Quick pick up. Good sized portions for Thai spots around here. Phad Thai and pad see ew both on point. Better then Broadway competitors IMO. 30 $ min on delivery to south cap hill is annoying.

Probably the best Thai food I’ve had in Seattle up to this day. Usually I would have gone to pinto’s Thai food just a few businesses down but i decided maybe we should try this place. The service was great, the owner was really nice and made us feel very welcome always checking up on us and making sure everything’s alright. When you enter the restaurant you get a wonderful jasmine scent and beautiful Thailand décor. The food was spectacular and very filling! I ordered the«E» combo on the lunch menu which included Pad Thai noodles, chicken, rice and spring rolls. It was really yummy and the chicken was seasoned to perfection! I will def be visiting this place again! Don’t forget to order their awesome Thai tea!

Not terrible. This is a cute place with nice décor and a big window for people watching. The food is unremarkable. They seemed to be afraid of any flavor that isn’t salt. One thing that turned me off immediately was that the server placed the dirty, grimy menus directly onto the plates that we were meant to eat off of. In the end, I was expecting better from a restaurant in this area which is known for nice, trendy choices.

I can’t remember how many times I’ve eaten Thai food from this restaurant. It in the past has always been top notch. Now I live in Granite Falls and rarely get into town and was very excited when I figured out I’d be able to have Thai food today. I ordered a good standby 3 star pad thai with chicken. And was really excited when I felt my bag placed in my hand, and gladly payed for it. $ 12, 13 with tip. It was a little expensive but I thought it was worth it. Boy was I ever disappointed The food was terrible! The noodles were way overcooked and dry as a bone. there was maybe half a dozen pieces of chicken which were overcooked too. if there was an egg in it it was well disguised and to add insult to injury no chopped peanuts or lime wedge. Give me a break! I threw it out. So, in fairness, I’ll call the owner to see if he will make it right… A refund or replace the food. For now tho, hiss boo.

Pleasantly surprised with this Thai joint. The to-go order we placed was ready in no more than 15 minutes! Our order of the Tom-Yum soup was probably my favorite. It was full of delicious veggies and had just a slight kick of spice. I will make note that all the food we ordered was supposed to be 3 stars/medium spicy. Every menu item turned out pretty mild for the most part. The chicken pad thai was good… not great. The sauce that they cook it in was a bit sweet in my opinion. We also did an order of the mango sticky rice… which was cold and the rice was hard. I even tried eating this first thing as I know they generally serve it warm. Not pleased with that one. Prices were average with any other place. I will say the one thing that stood out was the menu options in comparison to some other Thai restaurants in the area.

Ordered take out on a Tuesday night. Everything was ready within 15 minutes and the portions are not bad either. Amazing Tofu Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ewe. Both had amazing flavor and are more on the sweeter side(which I like). The Pad See Ewe had lots of sauce which is super optimal but the fried tofu chunks in the Pad Thai were toooooo huge. Will skip that next time. We ordered with 5 star spice. It’s not bad for those who are accustomed to heat. A decent amount of heat without needing to sweat, chug water or kill yourself.

Awesome place! Every time I’ve been here, the service is friendly. The food is delicious! They have awesome lunch specials where you get a good amount of food for a very decent price. To be honest, I haven’t tried any of the regular dishes on their menu, since I love the lunch specials so much. They have 5 choices and each come with a spring– or fresh roll, soup, pad thai and whatever your choice is for the special. I’ve never had any issues waiting. I mean, obviously it takes time to prepare a great meal for you, especially if it’s at a busy time. At this moment I’m eating the red curry lunch special and it is delicious. I’d slather it all over myself if I could.

The food is good, the service acceptable, and the prices aren’t inflated like many of the other options in nearby Downtown. Their Thai Tea is quite strong and affordable, and the dishes my wife and I ordered were tasty, though not spectacular. Their menu has an extremely good list of options, standing well above other similar restaurants, which leads me to give them the benefit of the doubt that they probably have a truly amazing dish or two that I just haven’t tried yet, as multiple options were very tempting to me on our first visit. Beyond the rice costing extra, my only real problem with them is the same problem that every other local Asian restaurant I’ve tried has had, which is that there doesn’t appear to be a single local Asian restaurant who doesn’t base their spiciness scale on throwing a bunch of crushed red pepper on the food, which is itself a very cheap Americanized take on spicing. I never imagined moving to a place with this concentration of various Asian cultures that my home town of Jackson, MS, with it’s .3% Asian population would be home to not just one but multiple authentic Asian restaurants who could so thoroughly blow this method of spicing out of the water. My search for Thai and Chinese restaurants where you can get the hottest spicy foods and not find them covered in a layer of crushed red pepper that will ensure you taste no part of the meal continues.

Really slow service, but the food was alright. We ordered everything spicy(third level spicy), and it wasn’t hot enough for us at all. I would recommend getting Very Spicy if you like spicy food.
