My hubby and I love this place. Great food, always open seats in the bar area, and the waiters always remember us and our favorites. It’s definitely our Cheers Tacoma!

Feel service isn’t that great. Food is average and then charge you a 19% service fee. Why don’t they just pay their employees better wages.

The worst part about the mandatory 19% tip, is that 30% of that actually goes back to the company itself, it doesn’t even go to the servers. The food here is mediocre, the service is worse, consider this place on my boycott list.

I can’t believe how jacked up the RAM management is now! They are blaming the city minimum-wage on their need to screw over their staff. The service and food was still excellent despite management’s failure. The website says that the place is staff own but the staff did not get any input to this BS management decision regarding the mandatory service charge and how they distribute it.

I placed a to go order at the Ram for lunch this afternoon. Its raining cats and dogs. They do not have a curb side service area. So after I searched for parking and get completely soaked, I’m charged $ 7 for gratuity. Ummmm so I just paid you to look like a wet dog and stand at your counter for 5 minutes while you searched for change for a hundred dollar bill? Most of the time tips and gratuity are given for exceptional service and for an employee making your experience pleasurable and memorable. So Again I’m need to know what exactly was my $ 7 for because it wasn’t for exceptional service and I could stand to do without this memory. I would have had better luck going through the Taco Bell drive through! I feel like I got robbed!

I ordered the nachos with beef. They were kind of bland, I wouldn’t order them again. Next time I’m ordering the fish and chips. I know they’re amazing.

This is not related to a specific visit, but I reached out to management on multiple times to get insight into if the new mandatory tipping was still in place(people have not been mentioning it as much, from what I can tell) and have gotten ZERO response. While I understand that I’m not a paying customer in the moment, perhaps I would be tomorrow or had been in the past. The Ram isn’t top on my list of places to go anyway, though I have visited a few times, but the complete lack of even attempting to retain a customer has completely turned me off of this place.

Burger was mediocre, it had good ingredients but the bun was soggy when it came out and the quality of the beef looked and tasted very cheap(almost like a fast food patty), service was okay at best, but the 19%(service charge) is ridiculous. I’d rather just go elsewhere for now on.

The blackened cod tacos with black beans and rice were amazing, best I have ever had. Too bad that the service was indifferent. I hope businesses hold their staff accountable for this type of service when they transition to the mandatory service charge.

We have gone to the Ram several times because it is my son’s favorite. He loves the Husky burger with a full one pound beef patty and the most ginormous bun I have ever seen! I was there a few days ago and got filled up on only having two appetizers for dinner. The calamari was not those little dismal rings that most restaurants serve now, but actual calamari steak strips done to perfection. My husband and I plan to go back on Valentine’s Day to get and share a bunch of appetizers since they all sound so good! This is not the place to go if you want a cozy intimate quiet dinner since it is more or less a Sports Bar, but the food is good and the service has always been good considering how busy they always are.

My family and I loved going to the Ram, especially the one on the water in Ruston. Now there’s no tipping and the service is lousy. I used to tip 20% so they’re losing a little on me. But no good service is a bummer.

My wife, my daughter and I went to the Northgate, WARAM restaurant on January 15, 2016 about 6:00PM. Unfortunately that restaurant was one of our worst experiences we ever had. I absolutely don’t recommend this place to any body. Here is why: The place was cold, we asked if they could change our table, they did but it was still cold. The server looked like hated his job, he wasn’t rude, but as you may imagine eating in a restaurant that the server hate his job and just wanted to get ride of customers was a pain. I asked for a glass of wine. He brought wine but not in regular glass wine, but in a small cup! If you ever drank wine, you know when the wine cap has been opened long time ago and you drink it, you get headache. The wine he brought me was old and because of it I got headache for the rest of the day. They charged me $ 9 for such a nasty wine! Those guys think people are stupid! I asked him; till our lunch is ready can we have some bread and butter or something like it, just like other restaurants. He brought some bread with no butter and charged me $ 3 for it. Those kinds of bread are free in other restaurants. I asked the server why that place is so wired; she said that place is a sport fast food. But they charged me $ 10 for service! We order two salads and I asked him to bring me their popular food but not sandwich. I told him that I hate eating sandwich in a restaurant. He brought a burger sandwich anyway! There was nothing especial about food, really nothing especial and just ordinary food that you can find everywhere. After all those pain, they gave us the check that was about $ 70 for two salads, a burger and a glass of wine. As I said they charged me $ 10 as service. That RAM restaurant was way overpriced. The food and service never ever worth even near the half of $ 70. I don’t recommend this place to anybody at all. Don’t go to that restaurant or whatever they call it. They rip off people and even worse, they think people are stupid.

A great place in the afternoon. The service is ok, the food not so much. It lacks a lot of potential and can be a lot better with better ingredients. Granted it’s a chain restaurant slash bar, I think this location is conveniently located in the Northgate mall so it’s pretty accessible to anyone. They do have a trivia night which is a plus.

18% automatic gratuity just stepping foot in the door??? Are you kidding me. The worst part is that only 70% of my auto tip, that gets added into my bill at the end, goes the the sever. The rest goes to the house? Sorry but I won’t be returning to the restaurant until things go back to normal.

I will never step foot in here again. The 19% service fee is ridiculous. You don’t want to pay your employees fair wages so you pass it onto the customers? This is a way for higher ups to fatten their wallets and rip off the hard working employees. I call BS on 70% going to servers. You are not paying them that money. I GUARANTEE servers would rather get tipped than have this ridiculous 19% fee. This ONLY benefits the restaurant, not the hard working servers. Boycott the Ram.

Watch out for the new«19% service charge» scam! They made a big deal about how they are«eliminating tipping», but instead they are just requiring an overly-generous tip and then calling it a «fee» so they can take more of it for themselves(management/owners) instead of the employees who would otherwise get the tip. If they want to eliminate tips and raise their prices on the menu, fine. But advertising low menu prices and then adding 19% in addition to taxes and such is a blatant bait and switch. I can get better burgers and beer elsewhere anyway, so I won’t miss this place.

**As of 1÷1÷16 they have 19% mandatory tipping enforced so if this is not your thing, you may want to go somewhere else. ** I see where they’re going with the mandatory tipping to cover higher minimum wages but many times the service at The Ram is so clueless and sometimes downright abysmal, I don’t see them *earning* a 19% tip. Oh well. Hopefully the employees can get higher wages and maybe some benefits with the new mandatory tip in place. I still like The Ram and think they have good food. Often it’s really good for a casual dining/burger spot. And since they’re close, we still go on a semi-regular basis. I’m just glad our last visit wasn’t my first visit because it was an off night! Service was so slow– like we didn’t get checked on for long periods of time. They ask you what temperature you want your burger– we all said medium. One burger came out medium but the others were well-done. Not a big deal but when the server/restaurant makes a point to ask, it seems like that would be what was delivered. We ordered an appetizer then our server just completely disappeared. Never came back for 20ish minutes. I asked a busser if he could get our server. Every time I looked up, there were 3 – 4 employees standing at the hostess table just talking. So strange. I’m just glad this wasn’t my first visit because if it was, I’m not sure I would want to go back. They’re a kid-friendly spot which is nice.

I’ve been to The Ram many times and it’s usually decent, but today not so much. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Beer battered fish tacos and they were totally cold and raw on the inside. I told my waitress and she just took my plate and left. She came back and asked if I wanted something else or them made again and I told her no. Not one time did she apologize. I told her that I would not be paying for my meal. I kind of expected a manager or someone to come over and speak with me, but nothing. Not what I would expect after receiving raw food. Thankfully it wasn’t chicken.

The food was decent, and came out quickly, but the service was less then effective. I would not suggest self seating in the bar area of table service in the dining room is available, for the reason the service is slow and at times very inattentive. The servicer Kristy didn’t not ask us how we would like our hamburgers cooked, and never checked in syst the order was delivered to the table. Over all the quality of food and service combine left a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe the table service is better and if i were to return i would definitely ask to sit in the dining room area.

This was the worst meal I ever had. I ordered Roasted Mediterranean Chicken and I got boiled chicken and vegetables. It was pathetic and felt like I was eating food that was served to a patient in a hospital. Also ordered a Bloody Mary that was not at all Spicy. Never again !!!

I’m freezing cold sitting here waiting for my food. It’s been hot outside lately but it’s not as hot today which may be why the air conditioning seems to be on full blast. My husband had to ask for his salad first and it comes but much of the lettuce is rustic and its drowned in dressing. Not wanting to complain he tries to eat it. I feel like soup based on the temperature of the restaurant. The burger comes out and it’s raw, he returns it. The next one is raw. He refuses it and he went home and ate salad. On a good note my son has always liked his French dips here. We returned to try it again on 10÷23÷15 service was ok. Food is terrible. We didn’t want to complain because they think we will just expect free food but seriously the cooks here are terrible! The salad was brown again and we got a huge piece of the end of the lettuce in our bowl. They don’t even pay attention to the food they serve to the customer. The hamburger was almost raw again and the zucchini in my chicken dish was so over cooked it was like mush! The only Ram I will spend money at now is in Marysville

Had a reservation here for a group of about 10 and was seated promptly with just 2 present since everyone else drove separately and was a bit behind. Menu was pretty extensive and happy hour selection was fairly good. $ 3.50 per draft beer and ~$ 3 – 5 per HH food item. There was also a seasonal menu for Fall, and the items on there looked very enticing. I ended up ordering off that menu and got the crispy pork belly burger with«vampire» fries(i.e., garlic fries). I was very impressed with how good it was. I would go back just for that burger. The reason for lowering the stars to 3 was our experience with the service. Our server did not routinely check in with us and also she refused to place a order to the kitchen for a sauce because«the kitchen is backed up.» Also, my friend’s pizza came out cold and had returned it to the kitchen. All in all, I think that my experience was a positive one and hopefully the service was just a one time miss. I would be willing to give it another try.

Typical chain restaurant. Mediocre good and average customer service. Nothing special that would make me want to come back. PROS: Ambiance: Very casual atmosphere. Large restaurant with various seating. Service: Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Food: My husband ordered the Husky Burger($ 14.95) and I ordered the Spicy Caesar Salad($ 10.95) with grilled chicken breast($+4). Huge portions. The burger that my husband ordered was probably one of the biggest burgers that I have ever seen! My salad was also a good size with plentiful of chicken. CONS: Price: Pricey for the quality of food that you receive. Service: Even though our waitress was friendly, she didn’t seem very knowledgeable with the menu. My friend asked her how many ounces the New York steak was since it wasn’t listed on the menu. She said it was a decent size but failed to answer the actual question. If I were her, I would have probably asked the kitchen. Food: Mediocre at best. Very bland food. The Spicy Caesar Salad sounded unique. It was just okay, nothing that I would order again. Even though the dressing had a nice kick to it, the entire salad was overly sweet. The roasted corn was a good addition but the corn bread croûton was overpowering. This is not your typical croûton sprinkled on the top but the individual pieces were huge, soft and very sweet. I had placed all the croutons on the side and it actually took up ¼ of the dish. The dressing could have been less sweet and more spicy. My chicken breast was also rather dry and unseasoned. My husband’s burger was decent. A good size, flavorful patty. None the less, nothing too special. His fries came out cold. He doesn’t like to send food back so he ate it as is. Tip: Every Tuesday night at 10 pm, this location hosts Trivia Night. Prizes consists of cash, trophy or gift certificates. Cash buy in, the hostess mentioned that it was either $ 1 or $ 5.
