Best phở around the hill. Than Bros know how to do phở and do it better than any other joint around Seattle, in my opinion. The broth is simple, but delicious. It’s not too salty and doesn’t have a bunch of additives like some phở broths. The meat is also a higher quality than I’ve experienced at other phở places and the prices are hard to beat. The best deal is the extra large phở(I like #6) with extra noodles, it’s absolutely value town. Whenever I’m hungry and don’t feel like spending a ton, this is the place to get your fill. The service is polite and fast, usually get your phở under 10 minutes of sitting down. Their current location is very clean and has a more modern, contemporary atmosphere compared to the other Than bros locations.

I ordered the medium size and it is soooo filling!!! They give so many noodles and the meat portions are very generous !! It’s filling, affordable, and taste delicious! Definitely best phở in town. And they always give these crème puffs :) for dessert

Walking around in Seattle and we stopped in for some Phở, and this was great! This is all they do and they do it great. You choose size and what meats or vegetarian and you get great Soup.

Hadn’t been here in years so I needed to see if it was bad as I remember it? Yup, it is. Still bland, still tastes like it’s from a can or instant. Still«The Walmart of Phở», worst in town.

During my entire meal the only 2 words that were spoken to me was Thank you when I left a $ 1.00 tip. They didn’t refill my water once. Soup was ok nothing special. If I wanted to be ignored I would of stayed home.

I am Vietnamese. It actually tastes like phở in Vietnam. I come here so often, even back when it was across the street with those huge green chairs too. When they moved to this space, it felt a bit smaller. Looks cleaner that’s forsure. Get seated quick, get cream puffs and water quick, order quick, food comes quick, pay at the counter, tell them what you ordered. Very quick, and fast paced. That’s what I like, I mean you can go slow too if you want, but like this is a restaurant, don’t like… squat there. In any case I love them, the people are friendly and do what they’re asked to. Workers switch out a lot but they’re all equally friendly and capable. The food is great and authentic.

Great food, but the new location has had a persistent and CONSTANT squeaky sound that bores into your soul until you are no longer able to enjoy your food. FFS, fix it. That sound means something id’s wearing down and will break. Lube is always cheaper than parts and repairs so stop ignoring it.

The least favorite phở I’ve consumed in Seattle thus far(compared against Phở Bac and Phở Cyclo Café). I found ordering a bit confusing as the space is laid out sort of like Chipotle where you start at one end of the counter and work your way down to the cash register. It’s just a strange layout for this type of restaurant. Since I was placing a to-go order, I wasn’t sure where to start so I started at the beginning of the counter and was told to go straight to the cash register. Ordered a medium-sized phở(with beef) and the total came to higher than I expected. I confirmed with the staff that I was not charged for a large size and was then informed that there is a $.60 charge for to-go orders. This was rubbish. Got home and unwrapped all the various containers and assembled my phở in a big pot. The broth was tasteless. I ate about 33% of it and got bored and sidetracked. It took me two more rounds to get through the whole pot which says a lot for me and phở because had it been good phở, I would have downed it all in a single go. If you are looking for go phở to-go, then head across Broadway to Phở Cyclo Café but keep your eyes closed as Phở Cyclo Café is not going to be as new or pristine as Phở Than Bros.

This is my favorite Phở place on the hill. They offer fresh veggies and a free cream pie for your meal. The selection is just limited to Phở but you can tell the ingredients are freshly made and go down really well

This place had really good phở. Friendly service, and a little cream puff to eat while you wait for your food. I got the Phở Bo Tai Chin(eye-round steak and brisket according to the menu). The steak was good and plentiful, the noodles were good, and the broth was warming and flavored well. I’d come back here for sure.

Gets 5 stars because it’s: –close to my house –cheap no matter what my appetite is –crazy fast service –free sweet pastry, if that’s your thing Would I drive just to eat here? No. Would I take a date here? Only after you go steady. Do I ever regret going to Phở Than? Haven’t yet.

I’ve been to Phở Than Brothers a number of times when it was in an old store across the street on Broadway. However, I have never been back since because there was another Vietnamese place that was much closer to my place that I like. Today, I decided to stop there again, figured I sort of wanted to check out their new location. What I like is that they still do the same thing they did when it was an old store, giving out free éclair while waiting for your phở! :) I like that the store is a little more updated, so it wasn’t as old as the old place was. Their food is also very affordable. A small phở cost me just $ 5.95(excluding tax/tips). I have no idea how they keep their prices so low… I have always gotten their small bowl of phở but the portion was still definitely big enough that I dared not think how I would upgrade myself to anything larger than a small(they have S, M, L and XL – all under $ 10). What I didn’t like though was that, since I haven’t been here for so long, I felt like their soup was a little off(maybe because I’m used to eating at another Vietnamese place close to my home. It was somewhat salty, a little oily and I wasn’t sure if they used MSG or what(which made it taste sort of strong. but not in an aromatic way that you had of Phở). I also thought the service was slightly a miss. I ordered Phở with meatballs, but got the one with eyeround steak and marble brisket instead. I never(and never want to) eat the latter part, and even though I was sort of looking forward to eating the meatballs, I didn’t bother calling them out. It was too much of a hassle to ask them to go change and remake what I ordered, given such a low price point… so I sort of just sucked it up and ate what they served me. Overall, this is one of the most affordable places to eat in Capitol Hill… particularly good to keep you warm in the cold weather. You get a generous serving size for what you pay for. It’s not my most favorite place to eat phở. but hey, with a free éclair, I can’t complain!

Phở Than Brothers(well, at least this branch) has neither the world’s greatest phở nor service. However, the service I’ve experienced here is by no means bad – the staff have been quick to take my order, bring my food, and ring me up at the counter. That’s honestly all the service I need when I come in for a quick, no frills meal like this. The phở itself is cheap and tasty. I would say the broth is on the sweeter side compared to other places in Seattle. A medium bowl always yields plenty of food for me. I usually get the bowl with steak and flank, and it’s never let me down. I hear that their veggie phở is pretty solid too(yay for accommodating different diets!). Last but not the least, those free cream puffs are great. Hats off to you if you can wait until the end of your meal to eat yours.

Definitely the best phở I have ever had! Would strongly recommend. Price is awesome, lots of meat in the soup, and great flavor. I don’t know why everyone is putting down the service… I have never been to a Vietnamese/phở restaurant with anywhere near what is usually considered decent service in the U.S. The service here was definitely better than average! Servers were friendly, quick, and helpful.

Ambience. B Service. B Food. A Price. A Interior is clean and open airiness with high ceilings. Part of a new complex building. I wasn’t sure where to go when entering. However, was greeted in seconds and asked if eating in or take out. Had the #14 phở with steak, flank, brisket, tendon and tripe. I just wanted brisket, tripe and tendon, but guess the waiter didn’t understand me. Overall, it was tasty broth on its own with tender noodles and tender pieces of meat and organs. I had the small for $ 5.95. It’s not that much more to upgrade 3 sizes up. Small/medium/large/Xlarge. Prices run from $ 5.95 to $ 7.75 I would come back if I wanted a quick fix for phở.

Wasn’t really impressed with the phở. The broth tasted like it came from a packet. I ordered extra meat but maybe got like 2 pieces of meatballs? Overall it just wasn’t good. I feel like the server was lacking in experience too. I was the first customer to come in and get seated. A few minutes later his buddies came in and got seated. Being that they were his friends(there were 5 of them), he brought them water and took their orders first. He was a nice guy and I don’t blame him for what he did, but he should maintain professionalism when he is working. Back to the phở… wasn’t impressed. Won’t be coming back.

An extra large bowl of phở for $ 7.75 in the middle of Seattle? I already know things are going to be good. Convenient location, informal setting, fast service, super filling, and more than affordable. Those are the defining characteristics of this restaurant. The menu is short and simple; they serve virtually nothing besides rice noodle soups and beverages. But there’s really nothing wrong with the phở they have. It’s nice to have a little oasis in a place like this surrounded by a ton of overpriced restaurants.

I LOVE phở and this is a great spot to grab a quick meal without breaking the bank. I usually order the vegetarian phở with extra noodles. The broth is slightly sweeter than other vegetarian phở I have tried but I liked it. Sizes available to order range from small to extra large starting at a price of $ 5.95ish. I believe they only have two types of broth: veggie and beef but they have several options for protein(chicken, meatball, etc) My issue with most vegetarian phở is that the tofu usually has a slight«soon to expire» taste and I have to say that this place does not. Everything tastes fresh and the service is fast as well. Complimentary cream puffs are a plus too!

I only have 4 words for this place: VERYBADCUSTOMERSERVICE! Me, as a Vietnamese raised in the US, I can understand the language. All the servers here tend to talk SHIT about customers in Vietnamese. Even the way how customer appearances, what they orders, how they want their food, all the servers here tend to make a joke out of it with each other. For examples: a person wanting extra food(of course, we will pay for extra), a les couple waking in together, a soft spoken guy, a fem looking guy, a transgender wearing a dress… COMEON! THISIS A GAYDISTRICT. Servers who are working at a gay district, they should know better! I have been here a few times. it’s always a disappointment!!! I feel bad for the customers who don’t understand what they speak in Vietnamese is about the customers! Customers pay for their food, NOT pay for the servers talking SHIT about customers INVIETNAMESE! The food is ok. NOTHINGSPECIAL! NOTAUTHENTIC! I would recommend to PHOBA in CHINATOWN. VERYAUTHENTIC! 4157th Ave S Seattle, WA98104 This place makes exactly like in Vietnam. You guys should check it out. Cheers!

Fast service, clean restaurant, and okay phở. Broth needed a bit more flavor, but it could have just been a mild batch. I think the broth is the most important part. Okay and fast phở for a steal of a price. Might come back to see if it was just one mediocre experience.

Not bad, not great. It’s a good stop for phở if you’re in a hurry. PROS: quick, inexpensive, ok food CONS: not a vast menu like some, broth kind of sweet and not super flavorful on own All in all it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed that I was served promptly and could be in and out quickly. It’s like the fast food for phở. Menus and utensils/sauces are already at the table. My large phở was more like giant and less than $ 8 including taxes. The free cream puff… meh. Not a fan but oh well. Small space but wasn’t overly crowded late lunch hour.

This review is only for the Beef Phở. The soup arrived quite fast, and appeared garnished with the usual spring onions and cilantro. The accompanying side of mung been sprouts and basil leaves and jalapeño were all fresh. A puff pastry was there as well. I found it to be distracting and odd lols. Anyhoo, the broth was off for my discerning taste buds — just too sweet! Honestly, I haven’t had any sweet Phở in the past, and somehow, I wonder if they try to sweeten it to appeal to a more American palate. When I think about soup, I like that chicken or beef broth to be hearty and comforting, sweetness doesn’t go in that brew, and did I say the visual accompaniment of the cream puff pastry was probably making it more sweet??? PS– If you have a sweet tooth and like in in your broth– this might just be your place.

I go to a lot of different phở restaurants but I find myself back at than brothers all the time. Consistency and café sua da is the best here. My pick: #3 phở tai nam light on the spice heavy on the limes. Don’t forget the cream puff at the end
