Ni Sandwich was a great veggie fail-safe. $ 3.50 for a quite decent veggie sandwich loaded with all sorts of stuff, and a good spicy kick. Sadly, they have closed as quickly as they appeared. That is all =[

Awesome Vietnamese sandwiches in a very odd deli. We sat in the one«booth» which is situated in a hallway that leads into the back room which has strange items strewn about.

This place is awesome — best bang for the buck if you are hungry. I’m not sure about the other reviewers, but I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Yes, the people working at the counter are a little shy, but I’ve always just gone up, asked what I wanted(get the #1!!!), and had it in 5 minutes. Not sure what else you can expect for 3.50. Currently my favorite sandwich place in Capitol Hill, Vietnamese or not.

Unlike the other banh mi on the hill, THEYACTUALLYHAVEPATE. Yes, service is slow. No, there is no place to eat. Order the combo, go to Cal Anderson, and stare at dogs while you ponder what parts of the pig go into the cold cuts.

Terrible. I walked in, and the guy at the counter just looked up and nodded at me. I was just about to leave bc I hadn’t been helped for a few minutes(awkward!), but he eventually said something to the girl who was in the back and she came out to help me. She took my order while he went to sit and watch tv on the big red leather couch I could see through the half open back door(?!). Overall a pretty bad sandwich because the bread was so old and soggy(disappointing!). The iced coffee was pretty okay, but not redeeming. Hopefully they get their act together soon.

i would like to give it 3.5, so i rounded up. i get the taro bubble tea. that’s it. they make it in shake form and it’s good. no frills, no fancy furniture, no loud music. just a good taro bubble tea. the first one i got there last week was better. the one today… the tapioca balls stuck together and clogged my straw a few times. that meant i had to do some serious sucking to get all the balls through the straw. i was about to check out Lauren from The Hills in the Glamour magazine at the chair where you wait for your food, but the shake/tea was ready too fast today.

Oh my God, I love Ni. Almost everything on Broadway is SO expensive, but at Ni you can get a kickass sandwich and bubble tea(pudding flavor is the best) for six bucks even. It fills you up, it’s delicious, and the people who work there are so nice! This is going to be the spot for my friends and me this summer. They also have Jell-O.

Stopped in here due to the allure of cheap-ish banh mi. I really appreciated the fact that the veggie version had all sorts of things going on in it rather than the usual two slabs of tofu: it had tofu, maybe tofu skin, and rice noodles. Seems weird, but it was really fricken good, actually. I think my breath was super stinky afterward. Maybe it was the daikon, maybe it was just my breath at the time. Minus a star for omitting my jalapeño! I will be asking for extra next time to make up for it. Also, the space is really funny. It really shows that it used to be the lobby of a nail salon. They seem to have«decorated» with bags of bubble tea mix… le sigh. No space to eat, but there are silly nail salon-esqe magazines to read while you wait, which for me was about 3 mins: just the time it took to read Glamour’s «does size matter» special investigative report.

Um… no. It’s not lost on me that we had 2 sandwiches and 2 bottles of water and our bill was $ 9, but I still can’t advocate patronizing this place. It’s a bread sandwich. Again, I understand it’s $ 3.50 but I would rather pay more and eat a delicious, filling sandwich. I heart sandwiches of all kinds and this hardly qualifies. My friend and I(with good reason) feel that the nail salon that was there prior, changed the signage and now sells Banh Mi and Bubble Tea instead of mediocre Mani-Pedis. I don’t drink the the Bubble Tea so I can’t comment. There is no place to sit and eat your food either which under certain circumstances is OK but not here. There is a section in the back that, at 1st glance, you think perhaps you can order at the counter and go to it but sadly it seems to be remnants of past businesses and useless to eaters of sandwiches. The Banh Mi weren’t BAD they were simply dull and light on fillings and heavy on baguette. The Veggie tasted like a soy sauce sandwich. And the pork, while tasty, in that good sweet-tangy way, had just tid-bits of meat. My friend and I ended up pulling off the top bread piece and folded everything into the bottom and we should have done that to begin with. I can’t recommend.
