Pretty good Vietnamese restaurant around Cap Hill. Not the most authentic I’ve had, but still had great flavors! I ordered a vermicelli bowl which was average, and my boyfriend ordered a phở which he said was pretty good. The prices are a little higher than normal phở restaurants and the service was average. For my phở cravings, I would probably head somewhere in Little Saigon though, but still good food!

Good service, but the rare beef noodle soup ended up having well done beef instead. The soup was fine, more mild than most places.

Hidden gem in a street full of good food. Although every entrée is about $ 10+, it’s way more noodles and veggies than I could finish in one sitting. I got Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli which looked like curry at first but after the first bite had the distinct taste of lemongrass. They give you the noodle sauce(pickled) on the side so you can add according to your preference. We also ordered Chicken Spring Rolls and with the sauce this dish is to die for. Overall, this is a good place for a «light»(aka clean eating but not light in amount) meal with a nice portion of vegetables. Ended up having to bring ~40% of my food back as a lunch for the next day. They seemed to only have one(or maybe two) waiters, but the restaurant wasn’t too busy when we went on Friday at 7pm. At most 4 other parties at any given time during our meal. However, don’t be fooled by their lack of crowd, everything is on point, they’re up the stairs and a little hard to find unless you’re looking for it.

It’s rare that I go more than two weeks without coming for a bowl a vegan phở. It’s a sure thing. Lots of fresh veggies(broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, snow peas, etc.), fried yuba, tofu and rice noodles make for a perfect, comforting meal. The food is inexpensive; the vibe low key. I’m a fan.

Awesome Phô at a very reasonable price. The egg rolls are addicting. And the view of the street isn’t too bad either.

Been in Seattle for a week, staying in the neighborhood at an Airbnb. I got phở from Bamboo twice — first time for take-out because I felt like i was coming down with a cold, and second time I stayed to enjoy it there slowly. Delicious, simple, yummy, exactly what I wanted when I set out looking for phở nearby. I tend to eat vegetarian, so I got the vegan phở both times, and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and prompt, both for take-out and sit-in.

OKAY… THEIRVERMICELLIBOWLIS. ON. POINT! I can’t explain to you how excited I was when I dug my chopsticks through the layers of fresh vegetables, grilled pork, crispy egg roll, and the bed of lettuce that’s piled high under the rice noodles! The fish sauce has the pickled daikon and carrots which I appreciate immensely. I believe it makes a different in taste and presentation! ^_^ Their phở is also just as delicious! The broth is rich, clean, and soothing! The only thing that I would have liked more is if the broth was more hotter(temperature wise). When you add the fresh bean sprouts, it cools the broth down a bit, and phở is meant to be hot hot hot! Other than that, no complaints– the service was good, food was great and I will be returning very sooooooooooon!

I really like their Chicken Phở! The broth is flavorful with black pepper & garlic. I ordered it as a to go yesterday & they packed it safely in a plastic bag, putting a piece of a cardboard box at the bottom so the food containers will stay in place. The reason why I’m giving four stars is because last month when I came to eat here I had a left over spring roll and I asked for a box so I can take it home. My server said he will pack it for me and then instead of grabbing the plate, he grabbed the left over spring roll with his bare hand & took it over to the cashier counter to pack the roll. If Unilocal had an emoticon button my reaction to this would be a face with 2 dotted eyes my mouth wide open.: O But I still think it’s the best phở on CH

Went here almost by accident as we thought we were going to Bamboo Garden… not to worry though, the menu looked solid and if you’re eating vegan they do a great job of pointing out what is vegan friendly… We had the spring rolls which were delicious, definitely super hot so be careful on first bite! I had the tofu shitake dish and I really enjoyed it… very flavorful and came out quickly… would highly recommend it. the mushrooms almost burst with flavor in your mouth… girlfriend had the Vegan phở… I tried a bite and it was one of the more flavor rich broths I’ve ever had… she seemed to enjoy it… where these guys lost points was service… entrees came out before the app, once all the food was delivered there was never any follow up(would have loved to order a soda with my meal, though they probably did me a favor)… Finally, we had to go to the counter to pay, which seemed to be the way they do things… but when I asked them to box my meal to go, it took a lot longer than it should have for not being as busy as they are… as a final point, it was very cold, but they did seat us by the window so that probably impacted it… all in all a decent and quick meal.

A few years ago, this location used to be «Tea Pot» and when it closed down I never went back to see what replaced it. Well, I finally did and Bamboo was excellent. The Vegan Phở is outstanding, full of flavor and veggies. I love that it has broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas, mushrooms and cabbage! Perfect detox meal and overall«feel good» meal. For appetizers; The Lemon grass tofu was mediocre as I couldn’t taste any of the lemongrass but the vegan eggrolls were great! I was so surprised to get a vegan«eggroll» and they were completely satisfying. Great place!

Some of my favorite phở on the Hill. Yes, it may not be quite as delicious and somewhat more expensive than the no-frills phở joints on the outskirts of town, but I don’t have to get into my car to reach it, which is a huge plus. The joint is modern-ish, sparsely decorated but clean. The service is pretty perfunctory, but friendly enough, and the food comes out very quickly. I am obsessed with their shiitake mushroom phở — technically it comes with beef and mushrooms, but I’m not always a big fan of the meat phở joints use, and tend to get just the mushrooms to get my meaty umami fix. The broth is solid, the shiitakes plentiful and the portion size generous. When I’m craving phở, this will hit the spot just right.

I’m always on the hunt for a new Phở spot. This one did well. Ambience: cozy spot with a cute indoor waterfall, bamboo plants and a clear view into the kitchen. Very clean. Easy to find off 15th. Price: $ 9 for a regular bowl. Decent and worth it. Taste: great broth! I ordered the brisket and there was minimal fat. The basil was super fresh and abundant. Staff: friendly and efficient. Originally I ordered the Beef noodle bowl and just wasn’t satisfied with it. The flavors were great, but the noodles were a tad mushier than I would’ve liked. Instead of being dissapointed the whole time, I alerted the server that I’d rather have the phở instead. It came out quickly. One star is deducted because of the slight attitude I recieved when I told them I didn’t like my first dish. He insisted that that’s how the noodles always are instead of just offering another option. Also, they didn’t give me new silverware for my new dish. Other than that, I will definitely come back for the phở.

Very good phở in a relaxed yet somewhat elegant setting. We tried the rare beef, tofu and shrimp phở flavors. I had to try the shrimp because I had never seen shrimp on a phở menu before. It was tasty, but I think I will stick with traditional phở flavors in the future. Service was good, the restaurant was immaculate, and I enjoyed looking out the second floor window at the 15th Ave street scene below. The only reason I deducted a star was that $ 9 seems a little high of a price point for phở in this city, especially because the bowl size was on the small side. Otherwise I thought Bamboo was great! Note: as I mentioned, Bamboo is on the second floor, and I didn’t see a ramp or elevator anywhere so those who require accessibility may want to call ahead first to see if there is access.

I adore Bamboo! It’s a little tough to find as they are on the second floor of a nondescript cluster of businesses on this busy, bustling street, but it’s worth the search. Efficient, very friendly service and absolutely fantastic, flavorful vegetarian broth in their phở. It’s wonderful to find veggie broth that is so redolent and heady, without adding any of the animal bits. My boo had the meat version and claimed it was even better then our go-to fave, Big Bowl, and that’s saying something. We also scarfed the veggie salad rolls, which were some of my favorite to date. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food.

Ate at this spot after visiting«Remedy Teas»(right downstairs). Had the vegan phở… SO good! The bowls are sized perfectly. Not overly huge like other phở spots. The ingredients are fresh and the price is right! Very clean restaurant. Go check um out!

I have to preface this review by saying I try to never write a Unilocal review that doesn’t praise the restaurant. But after what I’ve been through I feel that I need to warn anyone that goes there. I recently went to Bamboo after hearing that they’re known for their vegan phở. The service was fine, nothing above or below average. They did forget my meal after bringing everyone else’s to the table, in which I had to ask for an update some minutes later when I realized it wasn’t going to come out. But that’s not a big deal. It wasn’t until hours later that I found myself curled up my bathroom vomiting up phở that I realized I had food poisoning. I’d like to assume positive intent and maybe it wasn’t the phở that caused this, but my friend that I was dining got the same vegan phở and was caught in the bathroom all night as well. This situation was so traumatizing that I will never eat phở again, let alone ever eat here again.

As I begin this review of Bamboo, I’m not sure what score I’m going to give it. I dropped in for lunch yesterday… I hardly ever come to this neighborhood, but following a visit to nearby Group Health, I remembered back in the good ol’ days when this was Teapot Vegetarian House, which I had adored. I figured this veggie-friendly place in the same location deserved a try. The inside was bright and pleasant. I took a few minutes with the menu to just skim all that’s there because some is veggie and some isn’t, and I wasn’t in the mood for phở because it seemed a bit to warm outside for soup, so I went with the lemongrass tofu vermicelli and just for kicks I got vegan egg rolls too… for drinky drink I stuck with the ice water with the lime slice in it… nice touch there. The vermicelli bowl came out before the egg rolls. Shrug… more on the egg rolls in a sec. No, while I’m thinking about them: they were really peculiar! The wrapper was crisp on the outside but rather thick and almost chewy beneath the surface… it put up more of a fight than I was counting on and I think I’d pass the next time. Plus the vermicelli bowl was more than enough food for lunch. Okay, now back to the vermicelli. It was beautiful to behold and it smelled great… a nice mix of tofu, fried shallots, little petals of onion and herbs on top, with noodles, lettuce and more goodies below the surface. The tofu tasted great, and I really liked the combinations of colors, textures and even temperatures in the dish, although I must say the tofu was the real star as far as flavor goes… apart from the shallots, nothing else contributed flavor as much as it did crunch or texture or the like. Still, I liked it. The vermicelli bowl, however, arrived with another bowl, a much smaller one that contained a clear, cold liquid and shreds of carrot and daikon in it, and frankly this bowl puzzled me completely. I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it – was it a cold soup or palette cleanser? Was it a dip for something? Was I supposed to pour it into the vermicelli bowl? It tasted faintly sweet and more-than-faintly fishy and was icy cold, which didn’t provide any clues for me as to its purpose – fishy liquid with vegan vermicelli? Hmmph. Rather than doing the sensible thing – asking the waiter so that I could appreciate the dish to its fullest – I instead snuck glances around at other diners to see what they were doing… well, everyone around me had ordered phở and didn’t get the little bowl of liquid that I did, so they were all in on the conspiracy against me… jerks. So, I gave it another little taste, didn’t like the result any better, and pushed it aside, figuring it could do the least amount of damage if it was sitting over there. Sigh… it’s hard to be this stupid, but somebody’s got to do it. I think if I were back in the area I’d come here again, but I’d go with the vegan phở that’s getting so many rave reviews here… that way I’ll be spared another stare-down against a small bowl of clear, cold liquid until someone loops me in. Having written all of that…3 stars because what would have been a pretty good lunch got undercut by those weird egg rolls. No downgrade for the«small bowl incident,» that’s on me.

My favorite place for Phở in Seattle!(I have tried quite a few places) Fresh ingredients, great favors, and always a crowd yet you rarely have to wait. The cleanliness of this place is comforting. I generally only order phở here so I can’t speak to the rest of the menu but their phở is always consistent and delicious! The vegetarian phở is worth trying. Friendly, fast service.
