I am a vegetarian so I ordered the black bean burger. It was ‘good’ – not great, not terrible, but okay. However, at $ 16 it was rather pricey. We were there in the evening, so kids were less rambunctious. The vibe was kinda cool, darkish, nice browns and blacks and grays. My wife ordered a fettuchini that was over-spiced. It would have been fine had we been forewarned, but we weren’t. The bill for two, without drinks, was $ 45, which again, seems high. Will I go back. Hmmm. Not sure.

Sometimes you just have to listen to what others say. We ate here, ignoring some of the bad reviews, thinking maybe they were a bit harsh. Well, wrong. First, the service was bad. I mean really bad, no one took our order, we have to ask for someone if they can take our order after waiting for 10 minutes without anyone checking on us, then it took another 8 minutes before asking another server if they can take our order! The place was not even busy and there were 6 wait staff just standing and chatting. That’s what makes it really annoying. And from the looks of it, we were not the only patrons being ignored. The food is so overpriced for what they are. The quality does not justify the price. The salads dressing was almost none existent. My partner ordered a coffee rubbed burger, it was so dry and overcooked . I had the Reuben sandwich. When it arrived, it was so soggy it was hard to eat. Overall, you would find a better burger at Dicks. The overpriced menus is not worth it. I found the menus to be so uninspired and generic. Spend your $$ wisely, go somewhere else.

The bar area was abundant and the bartenders were very cool. Ample selection of local beers and a decent menu. Prices are too high for what you get. Yes, there is a kid play area, but expect the noise and commotion that goes along with it.

I give it two stars for the play table for kids and its a nice looking well laid out place. The service is very off hand and the four to five times we went we found ourselves often waiting for staff that would rather not be there. Menu is simple and food OK. I find way over priced for the type and quality of food. Disguised diner food. Then the last time I ate there we found ourselves with a bad case of food poisoning. So a place that should be a awesome neighborhood restaurant, isn’t.

Greasy spoon disguised as a high end neighborhood restaurant. Well laid out building with nice bar layout and good space. Good service and good menu. The negative is the food quality vs price, the ingredients and prep are clearly below what you would expect in Seattle nowadays. Kid friendly, which is great if you are carrying around toddlers looking for a place to spend $ 50 on a lunch, but if you’re not, be prepared to listen to children while you eat. This place has so much potential if only the owner cared a bit more about the food.

Went for brunch and it was amazing. Really great food and friendly staff. It’s close to the park and zoo and the neighborhood is a great place to walk, too. It had plenty of space so it doesn’t feel too crowded. I recommend their scramble – it was really fresh and tasted great. My husband had their biscuits and gravy and was very impressed. We’ll definitely be back.

Swung by after the zoo for a surprise happy hour and«child play»! The HH was a great deal, the food was incredible and the service top notch. We had the pork shoulder green chili, the cheese burger as well as the smoked ham slider. Omg, we were more then pleasantly surprised and impressed by all, including the HH margaritas imbibed. Aside from them all being delicious, the Chili was meaty and full of flavor, the burger was moist and perfectly cooked w great flavors and the slider had a homemade biscuit that«killed it», and the ingredients and flavor top notch. Thank you to our server, Will, who helped guide our first time experience here, all recommendations were equal to or better then promised. Quick, courteous and pleasant. We can’t get back here soon enough.

Solid enough market sandwich, pork shoulder green chili and Moroccan chickpea salad that I would come back for another try. Great natural light and open space inside! Thumbs up for a late breakfast/lunch spot.

Perfect place to eat with kids! Sweet neighborhood place. There a great play area, good kids menu, great service and overall the perfect place for an early dinner with kids. Plus the burgers are awesome. Afterward we walk to the playground by the zoo to let out the last bit of energy of the little ones.

Tasty Bloody Mary, more coffee choices than beer, though. Our server knew very little about the menu items, only that it’s been the same menu for a long time. I had the Moroccan Salad which consists of a can of marinated garbanzo beans with a little onion and(I think) a little tomato. It came with a baguette — forget warm and crusty. It was three slices of a small dense loaf of something that maybe had rye in it. My friend ordered a black bean burger. It was horrible as the«patty» consisted of a scoop of beans — as in refried beans texture. It came on a dressed bun which looked pretty good but immediately became soggy. Inedible. The best part of the lunch was the order of GREAT small fries. They were wonderful. IF we ever return we’ll only order drinks and fries. Not impressed.

The food was great, awesome LARGE mimosas and the service was friendly. This is a very nice, good quality restaurant that just happens to be perfect for bringing your little ones along. Tucked into a corner is a kids’ area with a train table, books and a few other toys. Because they are kid friendly it was full of other families, so everyone understood that kids will be kids sometimes. Make sure you read the back of the kids menu for their tips on creating a good environment in the restaurant for everyone… and a dollar off ice cream! I will say the restaurant is expensive. We went for brunch and one of the egg dishes we got was $ 15. But I will also say I will gladly pay these prices once in a while because of the kids’ corner. Our toddler was happy before and after eating, and the hubby and I could actually take our time enjoying our food and drink like adults! Our server was even happy to let us sit as long as we wanted, not rushing us to pay and turn the table over. This place is a rare find if you have little ones. Go!

Came in for lunch The good: Nice atmosphere with kids play area Fries tasted good The Not so Good Food: Cheese burger dry and well done when I asked for medium rare. The lettuce wilted, bun straight out of a grocery bag and way over shadowed the burger. The Price: $ 18 for a not so good burger and sweet potato fries.

I stopped here for some dessert the other day and had the Tiramisu. I thought it was too heavy for my taste but my friend had some hot chocolate she thought was excellent. It’s a nice restaurant with a bar and very busy. I think I’ll stop again and try the food next time.

Just walked out of this restaurant. Two of us were there for 10 minutes. No acknowledgement from the one server and no menus. It was as if we were invisible. Rude and stupid staff!

I really, really like this place. While my husband walked in and decided that he didn’t like the«hipster vibe,» I was all about it, even though I definitely don’t fall under that demographic. The space had a very chic yet urban feel to it — and it was right next to the Zoo which was perfect since we were going to see the lights right afterward. There’s nothing that I hate more than city parking and luckily, this place had a little lot right out back and we were able to find a spot right away.(It was the last spot available… but this was during the holidays on a Saturday evening so we were lucky to find anything.) The food here was really awesome. I rarely order burgers but the cheeseburger on brioche sounded good — I had that with the house salad and everything about it was perfect. The cheeseburger was perfectly done, I LOVED the honey mayo, there were just the right number of pickles. Going back, I would probably order the fries instead of the salad… just because the fries were addicting. They were the really thinly sliced ones. So good. Definitely a destination spot. It’s busy on the weekends — expect a wait!

The Last Straw, This will indeed be the very last time your establishment will get $ from us period. We have FINALLY learned our lesson. Here are the newest brunch details. We have been going to Phinney Market for almost 2 years. It was first recommended to us by a good friend who is employed at a different but highly respected Seattle restaurant. First let me start by saying if it takes more than 3 minutes for you to even greet a guest that is WAY too long. And then after that, you still did not bring water for us to drink until after you took the order. We have now been seated for 12 — 15 minutes. Believe me when i say my wife and i drink a lot of water. So if I have to ask you for it, you are not doing your job as a server. Since our first trip 2 years ago we have watched servers and bartenders come and go while the service continued to spiral downward. The only reason we have continued to go for the past 6 months was because of a server named JOSEPH and I think he is now quit too. The menu changes semi-seasonally, however it does not make up for the absolute inability to time food properly coming out of the kitchen. Cold food happens everyday at this establishment and today was no exception. I am at a total loss as to why it would take over 30 minutes to prepare 2 dishes in a place that is at less than 1⁄5 of its total capacity. Perhaps they were understaffed? NOT A CHANCE! I would say at the time we were there waiting to get our cold food, there were at least 12+ employees present and a manger. At this time again, there could not have been more than 20 guests in the in the building and 2⁄3 of them already had their food. So why the long wait for food? We informed the our server ERIN that our eggs and toast was indeed ice cold. Her response was to be CLEARLY annoyed with us. She did resolve the situation but not after making sure we knew that she was more than agitated about this. For the cost of the food, the absolute lack of service, and the stress you get from being at this establishment, I will suggest you give this place a pass.(FORTHERECORD: I am server. I have been a server/bartender for 20+ years.) I take my job very seriously. When I go out to eat, to spend my hard earned money in the industry that I work in, I have a certain level of expectation and this place gets EPICFAILURE status. I hope this review helps you avoid trowing your money away. Cheers!

To start us off, the food was way over priced, there were too many little kids, and the whole place was too loud. For one burger it was $ 16. At Hattie’s Hat for a three people meal it is around $ 29 dollar meal. The kids section they have just gets kids riled up and loud, making them stub urging for adults who are trying to have a quiet meal. The music was also very loud and made it hard to hear.

This review is for the Farmers Benedict. I basically paid $ 15 for 3 whole potatoes and some kale. The flavor was kinda bland too. Sadly I was disappointed. My friend had the corned beef hash that was pretty good so maybe get that instead. But for a Sunday brunch I’m sad … I should’ve stayed home and made my own brunch. Other than that the ambiance is cute I love the damask wallpaper and Gold mirrors.

Love this place! We’ve been here now for 2 meals — breakfast and dinner. Both were great! The staff is super polite, helpful and attentive. The wonderful food was even better! I love that they use organic, local ingredients. Great place to bring the family, especially the kids. They have a small area with toys for kids and it always is packed with laughs.

After previously walking by here several times, we decided to finally check it out. As a table for two, we were seated within five minutes, which was nice; at the time, they were rather busy with the brunch crowd. We were given waters and told the server would be with us shortly, and he was. My son was given a children’s menu even though he’s fourteen. I get it, he looks young. We shared the adult brunch menu. He ordered the biscuits and gravy with bacon, while I ordered a Bloody Mary and crab Benedict. There was an insanely obnoxious family with a non-stop whining/crying 18 month old, which did a pretty successful job at clearing the place out. This establishment, while beautiful, isn’t the best acoustically. Noise bounces everywhere. I commend them for making cards to go along with their menus about keeping children under control. This particular family obviously didn’t care to read and heed. Given how quickly the place cleared, I figured that at least we’d get our food soon and be on our way. …about twenty minutes passed with no other assistance, before I flagged down the hostess to ask for refills and a coffee. Which we were promptly given. …Another twenty passed before our food finally came out. My coffee was almost empty, but figured someone would be back to refill shortly. Nope. Then the water ran out again. We finished our meal, and as the waiter came to ask if we wanted a box(for what? Two remaining bites of potatoes?), we just cashed out and asked for more water. That said, the food itself is really good. There was hardly anything left of either plate by the time we were done. The crab Benedict had the most amazing biscuits I’ve ever had. It almost tasted like it was made with coconut or sorghum flour because it has a slightly sweet taste and flakey, crumbly texture. Really nice touch! The same biscuits were used for the biscuits and gravy. The crab was nice and sweet too. It tasted fresh. The Bloody Mary was made by the server… It was okay, but I couldn’t finish it. Something about it was bitter; I couldn’t put my finger on what. It wasn’t very good(coming from the girl who is a Bloody Mary snob, I’ve definitely had and made better). I won’t be ordering that again from here, but will come back for the food… When I’m not in a hurry! We had things to do today and ended up not getting out of there until after 2pm. Food gets a 4.5 star. Service gets a 3. Drink gets a 2.

Great atmosphere and fantastic beer. Food is simple and tasty, a great place for having a brew while the child’s play.
