Had fun at PF Chang’s Bistro, nice place to stop in and have a snack(in the bar) before the movie.

Last night my wife and I ate at this location for a birthday party and had one of the strangest and eventually maddening dining experiences we’ve ever had. It was a group of eight. Having worked in a restaurant, I understand how that poses some challenge, especially when busy, like last night. Our server was named Alex, and we dealt with a manager who did not offer her name. It started off with the server taking half the tables order, then leaving. This happened with every course, causing some of our party to be enjoying soup while the other side of the table was eating the main course. We weren’t too bothered by this, it was just strange, and didn’t comment on it actually, though we probably should have. Then our desert came out, before the rest of the table had even been offered one. The exchange went like this. Me: «We didn’t order desert, and we don’t really want it, thank you.» Alex: «Your meal comes with a desert.» Me: «That’s fine, we don’t want the desert.» Alex: «It’s ok, it already comes with your meal.» Alex walks away, before we can say anything else. So I flag him down. Me: «We don’t want this desert, see the strawberries in the garnish? My wife is allergic, take this away» Alex: «It’s ok, sir, it comes with the your meal.» Me: «My wife is deathly allergic to strawberries. If you have to serve us desert bring us one without it.» Alex: «Our kitchen doesn’t have protocols for strawberries.» Me: «Take the desert off the table, now.» Alex takes the desert and says, «Fine, I’ll get a manager.» The manager comes to the table. Manager: «I hear you are having a problem with your food?» Me: «I just wanted him to take the desert away, he did so there is no longer a problem.» Manager: «Well, the desert comes with your food.» Me: «I really don’t care if it comes with it or not, I do not want desert.» Manager: «Something about an allergy to strawberries?» Me: «Yes, my wife is deathly aller– Manager interrupting me: «We don’t have kitchen protocols for strawberry allergies.» Me now angry: «There is no longer a problem! We just wanted the plate taken off the table, we never wanted the desert!» Manager: «Oh» Then she just turns around and leaves. My wife and I like P.F. Chang’s, and have never had a problem in the past at any of their locations. We have never been treated like this before. Neither the server or manager were interested in listening to what we had to say until we were practically shouting. They just waited for their turn to offer their canned response. They could have solved the problem by simply doing as asked and taking the offending desert away, or if that was too difficult for them, they could have brought us one with no garnish. Nobody wants to hear why you served what you served. You either served it because it was ordered, or the staff or patron made an error. If given a solution to the problem, don’t make it a bigger problem by trying to explain your reasoning, or involving more people than necessary. We will never eat at this location again, and will be calling corporate.

Food was good, step up from normal Chinese food. What gave it four stars was the excellent work and service of Richie. Well done Sir!

Full disclosure, I’ve only ordered To Go from this location. Why do I keep coming here?! Honestly it’s because the food here is reliable, but that’s what you get with a chain restaurant. The problem with this place? The service. Abysmal is too generous. Every single time I’ve come here, which is about 10 times to date, I get terrible service at the To Go stand. At least 6 servers will walk by and avoid eye contact — I get it, there’s a person who is supposed to be paying attention to this area — but no one bothers to advise that person that they have a customer waiting. I’d say 8 out of the last 10 times I’ve had to say to someone using the cash wrap, «Excuse me, can I please place my order?» or «Is there someone here so I can pick up my order?» This is confusing because you have to walk by the host stand and probably mention to them that you’re just getting a to go order. And then there’s the awkward [lack of] eye contact… I just don’t understand where the breakdown is. Every single time it’s a similar experience. But, their beef and broccoli and egg drop soup are just what I need some days. So I will continue to return, and continue to have the same awkward encounters. Though, their HH menu looks pretty good, maybe I’ll check it out and see if it’s better or worse than their To Go awkwardness.

Happy hour is worth your time for $ 6 lettuce wraps and local beers. Being from Arizona I’ve always liked Chang’s, Flemming’s and Pei Wei which are all incredibilly consistant for chains. BTW the PF stands for Paul Flemming…

We’ve been here several times now and it’s always been a great experience. Appetizers are really good and easy to share: chicken lettuce wraps, crispy green beans, and spring rolls. The sauce that is served with the beans is to die for. It’s so addicting. The chicken for the wraps was warm and fresh, fantastic. Very impressed with the food quality and service at this location! Great place to meet with friends and family. Highly recommend it.

After multiple cancelled plans to go here we finally made it for dinner last night. We were immediately seated and attended to by a very friendly server. We started off with the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They were absolutely delicious. Fresh crisp lettuce and beautifully cooked chicken with a lovely sauce and crispy rice noodles. Loved the dish. If I had to nit pick, I wish the lettuce was not wet. I get that they had just been washed but a pat dry might be nice to avoid the watery leaves on the plate. We then had the Chang’s Chicken Noodle Soup. It was spectacular. The large bowl easily has 5 portions. Clear delicious broth, perfectly cooked veggies and mushrooms and tender flavorful chicken. I’m not a big fan of the pin rice noodles though but that is just a personal preference. Everyone else loved them. We finished off with the Chang’s Spicy Chicken. This was the only dish that failed to impress. It was just fried chicken cubes in a sweet and sticky sauce served with(brown) rice. There no real sauce or gravy to go with the rice and the chick itself fails to impress. I might try one of the other entrées the next time around. This was supposed to be one of their signature dishes but fell short of expectations. We ended the meal with a slice of the New York Cheesecake. The cheesecake itself tasted nice but was just too rich and dense, not like the lighter and more palatable ones you actually get in NYC. The raspberry coulis helps nicely to cut through the richness of the cake. The side of fresh berries makes no sense. The strawberries were nice the the blueberries and raspberries, obviously not in season were mushy and terrible. Overall I’d say the food was really good with spectacular apps and soup and an average entrée and dessert. Ordinarily I would have rated this as 3 stars but the service was outstanding with careful attention to detail and a warm friendly feeling. I’d definitely go back here more often and recommend it to friends.

One of the best PF Chang’s experiences I’ve ever had. It was dead in the restaurant, but coming from the service industry I know how sometimes when it is slow you get bored and don’t really feel like working and kinda go about your own business sometimes… We all do it. But — not our server Brad! He was fantastic! My mom and I stopped by for a quick lunch/dinner around like 4/4:30 before venturing over to the Paramount Theater for The Price Is Right. We were not crunched for time, as we were not far away from the theater. Brad was immediately was to our table, engaging in small talk(thanks for commenting on my Baldwin jersey!) and making suggestions for drinks. He was very interactive and friendly — very personable! You could tell he didn’t just repeat the same greet like a robot to every table. We ended up ordering some of our favorite appetizers to share: chicken lettuce wraps, crispy green beans, and 2 spring rolls(should’ve got 4… always get 4… SODELICIOUS!) Brad was kind enough to bring us our spring rolls right away, as he has preparing a to-go order and did not want them to get cold. Kudos for good thinking! Our lettuce wraps and green beans came out very quick, huge portions for appetizers. The sauce that is served with the beans is to die for. It’s so addicting. The chicken for the wraps was warm and fresh, fantastic. More than enough food for the two of us. My mom was on an important call throughout the meal(no big deal, I chowed down while she talked haha) and Brad never interrupted her, but continuously came by to check back with me and make sure everything was good and we had full beverages. Very impressed with the food quality and service at this location! Wish I lived closer to downtown so I could come back more often, as I don’t normally get this level of service at the Bellevue location. I hope management at this location checks Unilocal so that they can see this review :) I will also be filling out the survey I received on my receipt.

Upbeat ambiance a friendly staff. The Classic Rock playing is a stark contrast to the décor. but kinda fun! Started off with Drinks. Chang’s Mai Tai and an Asian Pear Mojito. The Mojito was quite tasty and the Mai Tai was STRONG! We ordered Crab Wontons in which my hubby said he couldn’t taste any Crab, delicious Vegitarian Egg Rolls with a wonderful honey mustard dipping sauce, and bland Pork«Dumplings» that couldn’t hold a candle to Frozen Potstickers from Costco as our appetizers. Entrees were all very good… I tried my hubby’s Crispy Honey Shrimp. I don’t eat Seafood but, they were pretty darn yummy! My Orange Chicken was really good… very orangey! And the Pad Thai Noodles were very tastey… not overly sweet, and just enough of a little kick to them. Everything came with white rice and it was WAY too much food to finish. All in all, not bad for a Chinese Food Chain that was just down the street from where we were staying. I’m sure we could have found WAY better Asian Cuisine in Seattle but, quick and easy was the goal… and that it was… though, not a cheap meal by any means…

We were walking around aimlessly quite lost, tired achy feet and hungry after shopping all day at Pike Place Market and trying to find the Westlake Station. We both looked at each other when we spied PF Chang and decided to head in. We already have one of these in Hawaii but when you are tired, worn down and hungry, even a restaurant chain is a welcome sight! This location was willing to substitute some items for us, like making an eggplant dish with tofu instead of chicken or beef and making sure the food did not contain peanut oil(allergies). The Kale Quinoa dip was just meh(weird flavors and textures), as was the Garlic Noodles(too sweet, no flavor and overcooked, mushy). Garlic Greenbeans and the Eggplant Tofu were delicious. Our waiter, Andrew was amazing and attentive. We made sure his manager knew it too. Cost for three people, dinner and a bottle of wine $ 80.00 without tip.

It was like going to Hells Kitchen without Gordon Ramsey and why would you do that? Who would have thought on a Tuesday night after 1 ½ hours all 7 diners would have received from our full dinner order was 4 appetizers(served by 2’s several minutes apart) and 2 cups of soup. One member of our party watched as another table was seated, ordered, got their appetizers before us and got their main course before we finally had to leave. We had told the«assistant manager» we had theater tickets and we were time sensitive. When we left 1 ½ hours later we were informed our main courses were still 5 tables back in line in the kitchen and the only comped item was a soda. And it was probably because he forgot we ordered it. And 7 people left running down the street trying to beat the curtain call. Something had to have gone wrong with our order but no one admitted anything. Just an «I’m so sorry» and smiles as he handed me the bill. The bill. I can’t believe they charged for the soup from a prix fixe meal. Not returning! Ever!

Have always been a fan of PF Changs and try to stop in at least a couple of times a year. After this last visit taking them off the rotation. Went to the PF Chang in Westlake last Sunday. Went in for an early lunch and there was no one else there(should have been a sign.). We weren’t too hungry so decided to order an old favorite and try one of their new«small plate» items. Was pretty sure they couldn’t screw up the chicken lettuce wraps but I was wrong. First, the portion was a lot smaller than it used to be. Second, they used to mix the sauce that comes with it at the table and you could choose the spice level. Now they bring it «pre-made» and it was bland and flavorless. The plate had more rice noodles than chicken. We didn’t even need all the lettuce because of the lack of filling. We also ordered the kale and quinoa dip. The dip was COLD! When we took a bite we were a bit thrown. When I asked the waitress about it, she said it came that way and the menu stated that. After checking the menu again, it definitely didn’t say it was a cold dip. Would have thought the waitress would have mentioned the full bowl when she brought the check, but not a word. Other than bringing the check, no other contact. All for a place trying a new direction, but this is not the way for them to go. Bummed to have lost a favorite.

We came here for dinner and had the Changs Dinner for Two which in my opinion is a good deal. $ 43 you get two soups, an appetizer, two entrees and a dessert. I had the egg drop soup which was delicious(my husband really liked his hot and sour soup too). It came out just hot enough to devour right away. We got dumplings for our app and crispy honey chicken/mongolian beef for our entrees. The dumplings were delicious as was the honey chicken however the mongolian beef was very salty. Overall the experience food wise would have been a 3 – 4 star but I’m giving a 5 star because of our server, I think his name was Richie. Managers, take note. THISGUYIS A ROCKSTAR. Friendly, personable, accurate with our order. He was quick to check in with us, took the hint when we were in the middle of a conversation, packed up our order to go. HE. WAS. GREAT. I would come back to this PF Changs again instead of the Bellevue one(which is much closer to our house) just to sit in his sections. If a manager is reading this, please please, tell him he’s awesome.

3.5 stars. P.F. Chang’s is located right in the heart of downtown. It also is one of the places that offers modern ambiance to go with Chinese food. The food here is pretty good. I especially like there’s a big menu(both food and drink) that you can pick from. They also have a pretty good selection of gluten-free food, which is hard to find elsewhere in Seattle at other Chinese restaurants. The décor is great and the atmosphere is fun, inviting for people to mingle/chat around. I took off 1 star because I felt that service could have been better. We were a large party, but felt that we didn’t really get as great service as we expected. For example, if we didn’t order enough food, the waiter didn’t tell us. I had to ask if the food would be enough; also when serving X sets of food, they didn’t think to carefully strategically places the same dishes far enough for everyone in a large party to enjoy. Some of the same dishes were placed close to another, so it was a bit awkward for some people to ask to pass the dishes. Another –0.5 star was just the price. It’s pricier here than what you could get at other traditional restaurant, obviously!

Okay, so I know it’s probably not«hip» to admit to liking PF Chang’s, and I further admit that, when I last ate here 4 or 5 years ago, I was totally not impressed(the food was way to salty for me, soaked in soy sauce. I am NOT a «salt» person — unlike some of my Unilocal pals! LOL). But on a recent weekend, hubby and I were in Westlake Center and hubby was ravenous and he insisted we have dinner here. I know not to stand in the way of a famished guy, so in we went. And I was very pleasantly surprised, as I had a very good meal! Is it «authentic» Chinese cuisine? I’d say no. No way. But it was fresh and good, and service was pleasant and attentive. I am on a pretty restrictive diet, but I ordered the Seared Ahi Salad and, I have to admit, it was delicious. The ahi was super good, with a decent portion too, and the Asian dressing on the salad was light but very flavorful. Hubby had the chicken lettuce wraps which he loved(I could smell the soy sauce on the chicken and I know it would be way too salty for me. But he really enjoyed it). He also had some won ton soup and I had some tea; both were very good but nothing notable. I have to mention the décor. I had forgotten how pretty the restaurant interior was. And how deep, and that it’s two-storied. Gorgeous murals over the open-faced kitchen. Deep and rich colors, comfortable and deep upholstered semi-circular booths against the walls. Our plates and serviettes/napkins were pristine clean, and it was nice to have chopsticks at the ready in a modern black container on the table. My tea came in a cast iron Asian teapot with trivet, which I really liked. Nice attention to small details. So, yes, I liked my meal here. There, I said it! And yes, we will be back.

Love, love, love the chow mein. And probably the best egg rolls and wontons. Had a wonderful experience today. Very prompt service and the food was really quick to get to us and well timed between apps and entrees. Great waiters and excellent food. Two thumbs way up.

P.F. Chang’s is like a side chick. I would never tell my friends that I was at P.F. Chang’s even though I’m here quite frequently. I prefer the Lynnwood and Bellevue locations. The downtown location is a bit hectic, street parking is tough to find and the Westlake parking garage is shady as hell, I feel like I should’ve been carrying mace. So why am I frequently at P.F. Chang’s despite my Asian heritage and my love for authentic Chinese food? Well, I like their lunch specials(and the fact that the specials are available on Saturdays!). I like their hot and hour soup even though I think they put too much soy sauce and vinegar in it, and I’m a big fan of their Mongolian beef. The upside to this being a chain is that you can expect some consistency in all the locations. The food always comes out fast, and service is always friendly and attentive enough even though they’re busy. No, I was never at P.F. Chang’s and I never wrote a review about it. My Unilocal account must’ve been hacked.

Stopped by for Happy Hour while roaming around Seattle downtown and settled with PF Changs. Surprisingly, it’s my first time here ever(since I’m already Chinese and I got chinatown and my momma for all my asian food needs). But wanting to whine down for a long day being a tourist, PF Changs was the closest full bar so there I was finding myself at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. The bar area was very spacious and the interior was decorated beautifully. It was dim and dark, with hints of rustic feels inside and drapes that hung down from the ceiling. The waitress was super sweet and brought water as soon as I sat down. Happy hour was from 3pm-6pm served Mon-Friday. I was impressed my the different food options that they had for happy hour and the prices weren’t bad at all. I think I was impress by the food and its prices more than the drinks they offered. I had myself the Red Sangria(6) which was absolute Mandrin Vodka and melot mixed with fresh fruit, ANDYES, it was fresh fresh fruit. Not soggy or frozen, but fresh strawberries and oranges! Had a sweet and tangy kick to it too and it was red and made you feel all nice and warm inside(while outside it was raining, windy, and storming at 30 degrees). The Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps(6) were beyond bomb dot com. I thought 6 dollars was a really fair price and it was so delicious. The flavors were all there and the food was piping hot and dripping with sauce. Loved it! The fresh lettuce provided was crispy and clean(no sand). It wasn’t Salinas lettuce that I’m so used to being from the Bay Area but it was on point. The portion of pork to lettuce was 2:1 which was perfect since I overload my lettuce cups to eat less vegetables! It was in a red box on the menu to signify as one of their most popular house dishes and I could see why! Overall for a 12 dollar happy hour, drink and an appetizer, I was really set and happy. It was well worth the money and time and great environment to be in. There’s actually a lot more on the menu that I didn’t get to try but the prices varied from 2 – 7 $ for each appetizer and on tap beer was super cheap. $ 3 gets you bud light, tsingtao, sam adams, or manager’s choice, OR you can get yourself some gekkeikan sake for that price. The drinks were beyond reasonably priced!
