This place is crazy good. And they play the best music! If I lived in Seattle, I’d be here all the time.

This place is so awesome.
5 stars for amazing drinks, cool and friendly atmosphere, and overall just a great experience.
Important stuff:
— Cocktails on tap, range from $ 8-​$ 9; tried two of them and they are delicious and quite strong
— The infamous pickleback shots are delicious and only $ 6 for a shot of their yummy pickle juice and whiskey
— Overall vibe of place is dark and divey with old school and new hip hop playing overhead
— On a Saturday night at 8−10pm, there was enough seating in booths indoor, and the outdoor «pen» area got pretty packed
— Guy at the door and bartenders were all nice and friendly :)
Writing this review up while I sit here and sip on my pickleback shot: P lols is that weird that I’m sipping on my shot?
Anywhoos, tried the Moscow Mules and these were really good and just an overall stable drink here. For $ 8, the drink was tasty and got me a nice buzz going, def enjoyed that.
Next tried the watermelon cocktail on tap. Moscow Mule was also on tap. And my goodness, these drinks are so delicious!
Third drink was my pickleback shot combo with a shot of whiskey and a shot of so amazing pickle juice! Reviews were totes on point with these shots… If you love pickles… you’re going to love this drink! It’s spicy, sour, salty and just a delicious savory shot! Getting ready for my second one now! And for only $ 6? Amazing.
Will definitely be back if I’m ever here in Seattle again. Totally recommend for all :) Montana, thanks for much for a lovely time!

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. (Visiting town from SLC, Utah.) I wish I could remember the drink I ordered, but it tasted like a smoothie. Something with raspberry and lime. I had a lot of fun, everyone there was polite and friendly and out going. Plus they have a photo booth! We ended up coming back here multiple times after being disappointed with a few other bars in the area. This place is great!

Montana is a nice divey-​ish spot to grab a drink as you work your away around Cap Hill. Came here on a Friday night, had a lot of people but not overly crowded where you cant find a spot to have a few drinks.
Its dark, not a whole lot of tables, but drinks and beers were affordable. $ 3 Rainier tallboys!!!
You can drink outside in front too but be sure to tell the bouncer so he can «escort» you to the area.
There’s a photo booth but good luck if it’s working, so try at your own risk. Montana will not reimburse you, there’s a number you can call to try to get a refund.
Other than that, I like this spot, would definitely come back again!

My favorite and default bar on the hill. Awesome Moscow Mule, great ambience, outdoor seating in the summer, and delicious food next door that you can bring in. This place is awesome.

I came here on a Friday night. Place gets really packed at night, so that’s something to be mindful of. It’s kind of a dive bar, but I like that. There’s writing all over the tables, all over the bathroom walls, everywhere. They make a really good Moscow Mule here, and they use Rachel’s Ginger Beer, which is one of my favorites. Overall, a cool place to come with friends as it’s not pretentious.

MT is a total dive bar in every sense of the word from the endless knife carvings in the booths, walls and ceiling with every profanity available along with random graffiti and celebrity names to the frat décor of bumper stickers, bad photos, black paint on everything and red lighting. If you’re uptight or get offended easily, don’t come in here.
I don’t drink so I don’t go to bars. One of my friends suggested we go find a place to get a drink while waiting for our table for dinner, so we walked around and entered Montana.
My boyfriend and I were carded the second we sat down. My friend wasn’t carded but she looks her age. ;)
Drinks are ordered at the bar — first for me — and the bartenders were polite but distant. $ 1.25 for my adventurous Coke.
My friend reported when she returned with her cocktail that she asked where the name of the bar come from, and the woman bartender told her she’s the owner and is originally from Whitefish, MT.
Empty glasses were whisked away quickly by the same employee who carded us.

We came here while waiting for our table at Kedai Makan. Omg I’m glad we did. Probably the best Moscow Mules I’ve had in awhile. They make it with Rachel’s Ginger Beer, so they can’t go wrong. This place is kind of divey but great service and delicious Moscow Mules.

As a first-​timer, I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and price. It was in a great location and I’d certainly recommend it for other friends. Bring a sharpie to make your mark on the walls. There were stickers, signatures, designs placed all over the walls. As a group of 7, we found a table and shared the $ 7.25 pitchers of Oly. I felt like a college student, again, but hey, we all need to reminisce every now an then, right?! Lol

My favorite Moscow Mule in the city… and it comes on tap made with Rachel’s Ginger Beer! It’s one of the only places (to my knowledge) where you can get this drink in that format. They are cool about letting you bring in food to eat as well since they don’t serve any.
The bar itself is a total dive with writing all over the walls, super dark on the inside with tons of nooks and booths for people to sit in but it seems to be part of the charm. I find myself always enjoying a drink at this place with either a few friends or a group.
Definitely a staple on Cap Hill and worth the visit.

decent place, unfortunately we encountered three total bitches that ruined the experience. I walked to a big empty table and they were also looking for a place to sit. I asked if they wanted to share since I was only with one other person and the table could definitely seat all of us.
One of them looked me up and down, scoffed, said no, and sat down.
So, y’know, pretty cool digs but no shortage of rude hipster bitches

Had a fun time here. It’s your typical dive bar with a hipster Seattle vibe. The walls are covered in writing and fun signs. (Some of the writing is quite profane, but whatever, adds to the experience) It’s super cool that they’ve got cocktails on tap! (Had a Moscow mule which was delicious)
This place is loud and crowded, which is perfect if you’re into that, but could be annoying. Not a ton of space, but there are some nice private booths in the back room. It’s also nice that they have a little area outside for smoking/​getting some air.

A tiny dive bar next to kedai. There are a few booths and tables in one half and a bar in the other. Surprisingly they have a wheelchair elevator thing as well. The bartenders are friendly and they have some interesting cocktails on tap for $ 8/​$ 9 (Moscow mule, their version of an old fashioned, etc). The drinks were not that strong or particularly special, but it is a dirty and grimey dive bar that’s tagged on nearly every surface… so set your expectations accordingly.

Packed on a Friday night, you’ll probably struggle to find a place to sit down unless you’re lucky enough to find a group of drunk, bubbly Seattleites crawl out the door, leaving behind a table of empty glasses and night-​long memories. I got a Moscow Mule, and it was pretty good! The line to get booze was quick and efficient, and I can’t complain about no cover charges. I’ll re-​emphasize that this place can get really busy!

Very crowded and very loud whenever I come in, but I love the seating by the front windows. (VERY LIMITED THOUGH!) Can drink outside, but awkward like you’re being herded into a pin to drink. Not a fan.
Their pickle backs are awesome though. Would pregame here then head to another bar.

It’s an OK place with a fun theme. Also, they have an interesting «pen» where cattle. I mean people, can drink within (outdoors) and 25 feet away from the door to smoke. The cattle pen is a skip away from the restaurant and not attached so the door person needs to «deliver» the drinks over to the new location. It is an interesting rule to get around drinking in a public space.
The unfortunate thing is that the bar itself is very small… I mean, it’s a bar right?! People drink here… but the bar only has one bartender and a very long line at times. It can get very hot inside so people are forced to second hand in the pen for some air.
The service was good and quick as they can go when you got to the front of the line (assuming the previous people knew how to be courteous and get out of the way). The door staff was patient and attentive which is much appreciated. Just the architecture, air flow, setup of the place was very unwelcoming. People seem to love the outdoor cattle area so if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the place!
I would have given it another star if it wasn’t so darn hot inside or had more than one bartender

If you live on the eastside avoid this place.
Everyone else will love this great dive. Fernet on tap, cheapish beers. Ugly as hell interior is great. Service is not very good. The parklet out front is the best.
Last time I got a beer and a shot. Guy in the parklet making burgers. Pretty cool.

This was my favorite bar in Seattle before I even visited.
For the past year I knew about Montana picklebacks and every time a friend was in town I would have them bring me back BOTTLES of this housemade pickle juice to Portland.
Finally made a trip to Seattle and so glad that I did. The bar was great, loved the photobooth and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Also apprecaited that they had moscow mules on tap (made with housemade ginger beer). Mmmm.

If the state Montana is as cool as this bar, I need to live there. Glad I found this place my only night in Seattle. Exactly what I wanted. good drinks, old school hip hop, chill vibe and fun.
