After strolling around greenlake, we saw this place and decided to give it a shot as the place was rather empty at the time. We ordered 3 kinds of rolls(Mt. Fuji, Double Crunch, and Bloody Vampire). After 20 – 25 mins of waiting, the rolls came and were served together in a big plate. The 2 rolls(Bloody Vampire and Double Crunch) were decent but I highly recommend the Mt. Fuji rolls! The server was also attentive. I would come back for their rolls and other things on their menu!

Good but nothing spectacular. My hubby bubby and I ordered the ff: 1) Mt. Hood 2) bloody vampire 3) combo roll 4) sashimi tuna I’m not sure if we’re going back though, maybe if we’re in the area we may give it another try. The waitress was friendly. The place looks decent.

I should have known better. The first time I went to Mio sushi, my order took more than 40 minutes even though the restaurant doesn’t have that many tables. A year later, on a sunny evening, I thought I would give it another try. 25 minutes after placing my to go order(to eat outside), I checked on it – to find that they had forgotten my order. I was told it would be 5 minites. 10 minutes later, I finally had my sushi. It was not worth the wait. The sushi rice did not stick together well, falling apart as I ate it. The fish was ok, but not worth the price and wait. I’ve learned my lesson. This place must survive on its location near greenlake and a constant crowd of new people. There is much better and faster sushi in the area.

Update: I just realized that all their sauces are made with tamari(soy sauce that happens to not have gluten in it), and a bottle of gluten-free soy sauce can be brought to the table on request. As a person with celiac disease, I appreciate that so much. I ordered the ahi tataki roll on my second visit. Mmmm. Very good.

I had spicy tuna hand rolls, salmon hand rolls, spicy ramen, hamachi kama and chiracy. All of them are really good. Mio is a good place to eat pricewise and qualitywise. :) Recommand!

I have been eating at mio since I was 10 at their first location in Portland. The food is always fresh, the sushi is always high quality and at an excellent price, and their ability to accommodate my serious allergy is amazing! I always come here because I always know it will be great and that I don’t have to worry about having an allergic reaction. This location is ideal for families or for grabbing a bite after paddle boarding on the lake. HAPPYHOURHEREROCKS

Went to sushi place and got teriyaki spicy chicken. It was moderate. Not actually spicy like most foods in the pnw. Salad and miso were bomb. portion was surprisingly alot

Sushi tonight! Tried a new place. They menu has good variety and isn’t exclusive of just sushi rolls. They actually have a huge menu. We went there to have sushi and saw they have tons of different rolls. Some were deep fried, some with unusual combinations. Had to read through the ingredients before choosing. I like the options and was pleased with our choices. We ordered ours to-go over the phone and were told 10 – 15 minutes. Got there in 15 minutes and they were all packed and ready! The rolls were fresh and they included shoyu, chopsticks, and ginger. We were pleased with the service and quality of sushi!

We ordered the joy roll and the Oregon roll. The waiter was cool about letting us eat outside since they don’t own those tables: order to-go and just take it outside. No big deal. Sushi was fresh. The Oregon roll had real crab and raw salmon on top. For the joy roll we asked them to put eel on top and it was only a dollar more. My only regret is not ordering an extra roll. The code to the bathroom is 106 for woman’s and 107 for men’s.

This is not fancy sushi. This is not a spot for a date. But if you need affordable sushi fairly quickly Mio is great. The fish is *fine* but not incredible. But with few other options in the neighborhood, give it a shot.

I’ve had a lot of sushi and probably should explore more. Been fortunate on the places I have gone to so far. A beautiful, sunny day here in Seattle and after a great run some sushi sounded just right. So looked up the closest one and mio sushi was the place to go. Cozy open window small sushi spot that has a great view of the park. At first the menu seemed Pretty high. Service was good and quick for the most part. Partially to the fact it wasn’t crowded on a Wednesday afternoon. I’m one who isn’t for the crazy and outrageous rolls. I think they are too big and just doesn’t feel like real sushi. I got the nigiri sushi. Tuna, Texas roll, scallop, snapper. When I got the plate it looked clean and fresh. The sushi to my surprise was pretty good. It tasted fresh especially the scallop which I recommend dearly! Snapper some places has a fun taste if it isn’t fresh or has a weird after taste. This place there is none of that going on. All in all a pretty good place and I would say a bit more money than an average place but you’re getting your money’s worth! I recommend you stop by if you’re in the neighborhood! I will be back!

This is a… if you’re in the area, sure go ahead and eat there, but there’s really no reason to go out of your way to go here. The customer service was okay and even slightly confusing if that’s possible. I didn’t find myself particularly happy with the experience. I had the udon and the california roll and I didn’t didn’t think they were particularly special. I’ve had both better food and an overall better experience at other sushi places. Even more frustrating, we were the first customers in the store and when others started trickling in, they somehow still got their food before we did which was a little baffling but the time difference wasn’t enough to be too mad, I just thought I’d mention it.

Have been here 3 – 4 times. First time we loved the place cane back second time with friends, didn’t like it at all. Went back couple of times just cause live close buy and after or before walking around the lake have a bite but both times were not fully satisfying.

You know, I may have spent too many on happy hour by myself. House tea $ 0.5(didn’t mention this would cost) Happy hour sushi combo $ 7.50 Happy hour Mt hood roll $ 8.95 Happy hour Heart attack $ 4.95 Non-happy hour agedashi tofu $ 4.50 I spent $ 34 with taxes and tips on happy hour by myself. Is it Christmas? No, just an impulsive craving… Service was super friendly. Décor was cozy. However, food and tea were just ok! The chain restaurant like this. I thought I might have a little better quality. But, no! Tea had no flavor, sashimi was paper thin and didn’t taste fresh, tofu was just too firm, rice from the roll was way too soft. Not to mention, no parking is available in the building even there’s a garage below. Fortunately, I found a street parking and was able to walk over! If the quality in food was better, I would not give just two stars! Pure disappointment! :-(

So I first fell in love with Mio Sushi when I was in Portland, so naturally I was pretty excited when I heard Mio Sushi was coming to Seattle. I went on opening week and was pretty disappointed. I figured it was brand new so they probably had some kinks to work out. I gave it another chance over the weekend and it was definitely a lot better than the first time. My bf and I ordered: the Green Tea Calamari and Poke Salad for appetizers and the Spider Roll, Harmony Roll, Unagi Nigiri, Hamachi Nigiri, and Amaebi with Fried Heads for our mains. The calamari was awesome. Light, crispy and flavorful. The Poke Salad was really good too. It was extremely refreshing, the flavors were on point and the Hawaiian Tuna was very fresh. The rolls were okay, nothing special or extremely flavorful. The Tuna and Salmon on top of the Harmony Roll was a little bland and not the freshest. It didn’t taste bad, I’ve just had better. Even the Spider Roll lacked flavor, the crab was nice and crispy though. The Unagi Nigiri was fantastic. Crispy, unctuous and flavorful… especially the one with spicy salmon on top. The Spicy Salmon provided a nice contrast to the sweet and rich Unagi, I could have eaten 10 of those. They have regular Unagi Nigiri and Unagi with Spicy Salmon on top. The Hamachi Nigiri was good too. Very supple and fresh it just melted in my mouth. I wish the fish on our rolls tasted this way! Amaebi is my favorite piece of sashimi/nigiri…I especially love it if they serve it with the heads deep fried. mmmmm! The Amaebi at Mio was a half and half, the sashimi part tasted bland, mushy and chalky. Definitely not fresh. The fried heads were amazing though and I devoured them in two bites. Too bad you can’t just order shrimp heads(the brains are the best part!). Overall the meal was okay. The rolls lacked flavor but our appetizers and nigiri were pretty good for the most part. Service was very good too, I guess we lucked in that department according to a lot of other reviews. They were very friendly and attentive(it wasn’t too busy though.) The ambiance was nice and cheery, I also liked how clean the restaurant was. I also like the way the menu was set up. They have menus but they also supply you with a dry erase sheet and marker to mark and write your selections. Pretty neat. The good did outweigh the bad but since there are so many better sushi options in Seattle to chose from, I can’t really see myself coming back anytime soon.

Waiting. And waiting. And waiting. That’s how I spent most of my last visit to Mio Sushi. It was a sunny, brisk spring day. As always, Seattlelites were particularly happy to see blue skies. I walked into Mio Sushi and waited at the podium, as instructed, waiting to be seated. Looking around, there was a table of 3 people, and a table of 4. Other than that, the place was empty. I waited for about 4 minutes before the sole female running around said she would be right with me. After an additional 3 minutes, she gave me a menu(which I could have gotten myself) and sat me at a table, even though I was getting takeout. I placed my order and waited. Since I didn’t have anything to do, I watched the female server, trying to figure out what was going on and why she appeared to be so frantic. Lest you think that I am insensitive, I spent many of my young adult years as a server both in fast food and fine dining. I have a good understanding of how to run a dining room. I never got my answer. I shrugged and figured good sushi would make up for the 20 minutes that I spent at Mio, while the rest of my family sat patiently outside another establishment awaiting my return. That day, I had: Mio — Tuna, crab, cucumber, avocado, masago, sweet sauce($ 5.95) Nicksan — spicy tuna, crab, cucumber, sesame seeds($ 4.75) The Nicksan was okay; the Mio, which I assume is their signature roll, had a sweet sauce which was too sweet for my liking. Any attempt to balance it with soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger was a failed attempt. I paid $ 13.00 for my meal(price + tip) and from my perspective, I shouldn’t have paid more than $ 9.00 for all of it. Great sushi and great service are hard to find. If both are just okay, I probably won’t be back very often.

Way past time to review my neighborhood sushi stop. Mio is amazing! Not only is the staff always über friendly, the last time in they greeted me in Korean! This is wasted on a non-speaking happa like me, but I still appreciated the recognition. Mio is a very casual spot with great view of the sushi chefs at work. I’ve never actually sat down in here to eat, but while waiting for to-go order pick up you start to notice things. They seem to get a lot of to-go orders, since they are very quick and efficient. There is a help-yourself candy station at the cash register, which is great to bribe unruly children while you wait. Mio understands presentation. They package everything so beautifully in their to-go orders. I’m talking lace doily underneath gyoza, people. Prices are on par with every other sushi place, but it seems to me the serving is much more generous. 7 – 8 gyoza per order, rolls with a lot of pieces, lots of sauce, napkins, and chopsticks. Miso soup is also delicious. I have liked everything I’ve tried, so get there now!
