I saw him at the Pike Market on the main concourse(make a left on the main level). There were things that attracted me at the market and then there were things that called out to me, this was one of them. This was my first time seeing this booth. I have a collection of weird characters and toys. I love donuts and most pastries, especially plushies that look like my favorite pastries. Even better if the pastries look like animals! I am sure that I lost most people by now, therefore, let me put it simply; hand made donut plushies that look like a cats. It’s like Nyon cat but just less annoying. They even had a maple bear donut. Of course I got the pair. bear and cat which are the nicknames we have for each other(the guy I am dating and I… I am kitten and he is bear). Both are maple flavored ’cause that is our favorite flavor in general. The price was a little high at $ 18 each, however, it was unique enough that I took the plunge. I only come to Seattle every so often so it was more of a now or never purchase. Before packing my donuts in the back the guy at the booth talked to both of them which I thought was really cute.

These pastry pets are so cute! They caught my eye as I was strolling through the Pike Place Market in Seattle with my friends. We were traveling to Seattle for a job fair, and I have to say it wasn’t a good day for me as I was so stressed out(even after the interviews.) I saw these pastry pets, and I really wanted to hug a plush one and bring it home with me. But I have to be on a budget because I still haven’t landed a job offer yet. So instead of the plush toys, I went for a Vanilla Donut Cat key chain, which costs less. I believe it was Marnin the artist himself making plush toys on the spot. But who would have guessed he was about to make my day! I paid for the key chain, and Marnin asked if I wanted a bag. I thought he would just take the payment(they accept cards), and handed me the bag with a genuine-but-standard-customer-service smile; but instead, he opened the paper bag and looked into it, saying in a very cute voice, «Good bye, donut cat! Have a nice trip!» I don’t know how others would respond, but on that day, it meant so much for me. The world has become a better place because of people like this and their lovely creations. Please visit the Pike Place Market and find those lovely pastry pets and their creators!

I love donut cats and maple bears! Get a bakers dozen! I was excited to meet the woman that makes these because I have seen them on etsy and shops in portland. They even inspired me to bake edible donut cats. You must get a donut cat if you are at pikes place market!

Cat doughnuts. Bear Eclairs. Squishable cuteness for you or even your feline friends in an adorable pastry shape. These guys are insanely ~cute~. I noticed them immediately while on my weekly Sosio’s run(right across the way folks!), and man. I bought a minty cat doughnut(cat nip stuffed) faster than I could blink. And these are sturdy doughnut cats too! My feline charges, being the drug fiends they are took RIGHT to the chocolate colored minty doughtnut and did their best to tear it apart. I think the cute stitching on the mouth may be undone by now… but otherwise it is holding up well against 2 abusive cats. I was lucky enough to meet Marnin myself — super friendly and equally adorable in his soda jerk outfit. Soooooo…go visit the market and get yourself a plush pastry. They are too cute not to.
