Living on the west(BEST!?) coast is great… Until you realized a lot of the amazing foods you grew up with in the south are nowhere to be found. Ie: KOLACHES Kolaches are a staple of my childhood. That warm, doughy bread stuffed with meats and cheese will not only blow your mind… They will turn you defensive when people call them«pigs in a blanket» PFT We were in Seattle doing Seattle tourist things. As we were leaving the damp, cold waterfront of Pikes Market we notice a small table with a white sign advertising my beloved kolaches. My heart dropped. Could it be?! It cant! I, reluncatntly, went over and interrogated the sweet woman about her interpretation of kolaches(mind you, these are sacred!). come to find out, her husband was from Texas which ultimately calmed my nerves. We ordered two and within the first bite, I was transported back to a simpler time; waking up at 11am, coming downstairs to bags of kolaches and donut holes from the parentals. With kolaches, its all in the bread… And they nailed it. It was soft, warm and melted in your mouth. Every bite was consistent, delicious and quickly renewed my obsession. now, if only we can get them to do a pop-up in SF… hmmmm… Tip: they SHIP! Get a card and do yo thang.

Makes my Texas heart happy! Hot, delicious pillows of yeasty goodness filled with your choice of fun. We went with the hot sausage(from Uli’s in the market!), cheese and jalapeños. While, it’s not the Czech Stop they are by far the best kolaches we’ve found on the west coast.
