Excellent service, delicious food, just a great dining experience all around. Don’t miss their brunch — the chicken and waffles were perfect

I had a friend in town and we wanted breakfast, found this gem and it was delicious! The French toast was so good with bananas and the applewood smoked ham sandwich was also so yummy!

I’m back, this time for late night eats, and I can say: it’s awesome here after midnight! Fun local crowd, creative cocktails, better music(gone is the«New Country» misery). Service is friendly and playful, the vibe is relaxed and fun. This joint makes more sense late at night! The food… well…I don’t know what’s going on back there, but they got good stuff– they just do odd things with it. Figuring I couldn’t go wrong(shut up!) I ordered the burger($ 11) with cheese and Mama Lil’s peppers($ 1.50 each). Everything was fine, except the bun was scorched black(burnt sesame seeds are NOT yummy) and the burger was undersized and had been cooked over too hot a grill, resulting in burned edges. That said, the rest of the traditional American meal was perfect: generous tomato slices, crisp onion and lovely bib lettuce, perfect fries. My cocktail, the«Ha!» was muddled cucumber, lime and mint with Hendrix gin, just delicious! If someone can figure out why the kitchen messes up otherwise good, simple food, this would be a five star place. The ambiance is wonderful! The drinks are approachably creative. Friendly, attentive service. Good beer on tap. Just a fun concept in a good place! Hope they fix the food oddities… A hopeful four stars!

Adorable and comfortable, great selection of liquors, and a gem of a bartender — It’s a rare occasion that one is afforded the opportunity to watch Sixteen Candles while listening to underground hip hop. The happy hour prices are fantastic to boot. Fremont ave. is lucky to have a little Ha!

What an absolute pleasure it was finding this great little neighborhood spot. The customers were interacting with each other and Al was one of the most interesting people I’ve met in Seattle, which says a lot. Great conversation. Great food. Great coffee! I can’t say enough good things about Ha! Just go and enjoy it.

Vibrant, homey, cool bar spot to watch the game or just to be treated to the classic staples. From the breakfast menu, we got the chicken-n-waffle(13 $) and dungeness crab scramble(13 $). Originally we were served the lunch menu, which was disappointingly more limited and generic… but after seeing our neighbor order fabulous omelettes and sandwiches, we had to have the breakfast version! The crab scramble was actually crabby pretty much throughout. Though you couldn’t see the pieces, you could definitely taste it in almost every bite. I did get a piece of the crab’s white cartilage INSIDE the eggs, which was a little scary! Potatoes that came with the scramble were plain and super dry. The chicken and waffles were just alright… especially the overly fried ONE piece of chicken with very very dry insides, like a Thanksgiving turkey gone thirsty. Syrup had a heavy artificial sweetness it. While the vibe of the place was great, including the surround sound speakers to watch the game, I wasn’t really a fan of the food quality unfortunately. Better luck next time.

We had the dungeness crab cakes. They were delicious, but not at all filling for a $ 15 main course(and the only sides were salad and slaw). I don’t mind a smaller plate, but could’ve eaten three courses of this before feeling semi-full.

Such a fun, upbeat neighborhood joint. I am typically here to grab a beer with my friends who live around the area and the energy in the place is always positive and lively. The bartenders and other employees here are so fun and certainly know their customers. I know quite few people have successful first dates here because of how pleasant and relaxed the atmosphere is. Good for a brew or a bit of grub. I’m here at least once a week.

Ended up here because one of my favorite restaurants was unexpectedly closed today. It’s in a part of Fremont I don’t normally go. Parking was tricky but at least the restaurant wasn’t busy so no wait. The service was friendly and helpful. The coffee was good but it’s hard to find bad coffee in this city.. I ordered the crab scramble(with spinach and Gruyère cheese). Your choice of salad or potatoes. I chose potatoes. It wasn’t fishy at all. It was really good. I ate the whole thing and will come back to order it again. They served my food with toast. It was super good. Perfect crispy crust and soft inside. I don’t usually eat toast but with the honey they have on the table I couldn’t resist. I ate my friend’s toast too! The potatoes were good. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. My friend ordered the steak and eggs which they wouldn’t do hardboiled(with salad). Slightly annoying. I tasted the steak. It was ok. Not particularly tasty and on the dry side. We realized after getting it that we weren’t asked how we wanted it cooked. The salad was bland. I’m not a huge fan of balsamic dressing that’s sweet. They don’t have a huge selection of menu items but I definitely want to come back to try their brioche French toast. I just couldn’t eat anymore today after the scramble. They also have a section of Mexican breakfast items. I’m still looking for«molletes» somewhere in Seattle.

lunch food: chicken fried steak. the gravy white sauce was so delicious. i almost wanted to lick the plate. the steak itself wasnt drenched in flour or too oily. nice crispiness. i opted for the salad instead of potatoes. the dressing is light but flavorful. couldnt put my finger on it. kind of sweet, tangy, but not a vinaigrette i think. ***4/5 service: loved our server. she was sweet. we told her that we were time sensitive for this meal and she worked it out for us. it didnt feel rushed, but efficient. the food arrived. the to go boxes needed and the check got here as we finished. we got out of there on time to be at our next destination. ***5/5 value: great food for a good price. diner food prices, but better quality than the chains. the portions were just enough for me. leaving happy and not sluggish waiting for a food coma. ***4/5

My husband and I came here for breakfast after it was recommended to us by our hosts we were staying with nearby. There was easy, free street parking. Service was friendly and helpful. The food was great. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

Very good comfort food. I recommended the crab sandwich or the sriracha chicken sandwich. Both are super tasty and you can get them with traditional fries, truffle fries, or greens. The crab sandwich is a bit heavier, but it’s buttery and well worth the extra calories. The staff is always really friendly and this is a go-to comfort food spot. They have good mixed drinks as well!

Ray: It was a beautiful, blue sky, sunny afternoon when Josh and I walked from his apartment in Wallingford to a restaurant in Freemont called«Ha». I guess it’s more of a bar… When we arrived I noticed that the interior paint job was kinda like being inside a tequila sunrise. Red on the walls, fading to yellow at the ceiling. It was a creative approach, that’s for sure. We sat ourselves and I noticed right away that the table was a mess. Crumbs all over my side of the table, plus this dried smear of some kind. I knew that the waitress would clean it up when she saw it. Well, when she came up, she put the menus over the crumbs and took our drink order. I just brushed the crumbs off to the floor and avoided the«smear». The menu had several tempting morsels. There was a chicken pot pie, Fish & Chips and Steak Frites. I was really tossed on that, but when I found out that the steak was a 14 oz NY, my decision was super easy. So, after a bit our beers arrived and we placed our meal orders. The beer I ordered was the Freemont Summer Ale. I have to give that brew some kudos. It was deliciously refreshing. A perfect summer ale to be sure! It wasn’t very long before our dinners arrived. The plating was the steak along with a pile of shoestring fries. The steak was perfectly cooked and absolutely stunning. I really, really liked it a lot! The fries were pretty good, but being somewhat over-salted, I couldn’t eat more than half of them. I just couldn’t take that much salt. We were almost finished with our dinners and our beers were gone, but nobody seemed to notice. When we finally finished our plates and they came to take them away, only then did they notice the empty glasses. We did order another round. That’s when disappointment started to set in. I mean, when we finished that 2nd beer, we just sat there waiting(and waiting) for our check. I thought we were in the Hotel California or something. We finally flagged down a waitress and just handed her our cards to try and expedite our exit. I would love to pile on the stars for Ha because that steak was so wonderful, but the negligent service and the dirty table(complete with that nasty smear) will only allow me to go with three, so 3 stars for Ha. I say, clean it up and make customer service a priority and this place would be flat out amazing Josh: We kept it close to home Thursday and took the short walk to Ha! in Fremont. I’ve been here a couple times in the past, thought I was probably due for another dinner there. They have a small dining room in front with the bar, and a couple back dining rooms that look like they might be good for party reserving. The walls are all painted like a sunrise, dark red on the bottom leading up to orange near the ceiling. It definitely looks like type of place that is a one-off neighborhood spot. I like that originality. We took a look at the menu while we waited for a server to come take the drink orders. I went with the Fremont summer ale(a seasonal favorite of mine) and decided on what the entrée was going to be. The menu looks pretty good, but one thing was definitely standing out: the 14 oz. steak for $ 17. The menu stated that they have different cuts of steak, so it depended on what was on-hand. «New York steak» said the waitress when I posed the question. «My favorite!» said me. The wait between the drinks being ordered and the meal being ordered was abnormally long. The bar was pretty full of what I can only assume were regulars, and it seemed like the wait staff was primarily concerned with this group of customers. The meal arrived and looked really good. One bite revealed that looks were definitely not deceiving, the steak was delicious. Ever since I learned how to cook a steak a few years back I’ve had a hard time being impressed with restaurant steak, but this one was pretty damn good, and a steal for the price. Once the meal was finished, it took forever for the server to return to take the plates. Seriously folks, the service was terrible. Friendly for sure, but terrible nonetheless. We ordered one more beer and drank them down while waiting for the check. I don’t know where to go for a rating of this place. The food was better then expected, but the service was absolutely atrocious. I would really have no problem going with 5 stars if they could be a little more attentive to customers who aren’t sitting at the bar, but that wasn’t the case. The service was terrible. 3 stars.

Sometimes, you go to a restaurant that says it serves comfort food and it ends up being just a pile of carb and grease and is worse than you can make at home. That is not at all the case with Ha! My crab melt was not only filling, it was SUPERDELICIOUS — good quality bread, lots of cheese and crab, with a side of truffle fries($ 1 additional). The only thing they’re missing are milkshakes. I would definitely come back for a weekday lunch!

Good comfort food — the black bean quesadilla was tasty and aplenty. My friend had the Super Goose IPA(she said it wasn’t her favorite, but it was also the end of the night,) and I had the«Damn I didn’t know I liked Gin,» even though I already knew it was my drink of choice! The service here was just so-so, but they only had two guys working the bar and restaurant area that stretched to the back of the building. They were playing the Australian Open on the big TV at the bar — kind of an odd choice for a Fri night, but somewhat entertaining amidst the bar crowd. It was a decent experience, though I probably won’t be back here again soon.

Tried Ha! for the first time yesterday. We arrived mid-day to have lunch and a few weekend cocktails. The overall vibe is relaxed and cozy. The service is also pretty relaxed — read ‘slow’. Regardless, the woman who was our server initially was friendly and helpful. She also made a mean margarita. Delicious! Unfortunately, this is where the goodness ended. The food looked great… but was generally bland. The tomato soup was super oily — not sure how that happens. The grilled cheese was really greasy and the crab sandwich I ordered had a lot more brioche than crab salad. Then our server left and the guy who took over for her was not good. The one margarita he brought me was really sweet and not very cold. He forgot another drink we ordered. Generally, he seemed interested in hanging at the bar chatting with regulars. You know, it’s okay with me if your friends/co-workers/neighbors/day drinkers are sitting at the bar and you want to chat, but I want a delicious drink too! Won’t be going back.

A very quaint neighborhood breakfast and brunch spot. The food is made with love and it shows. Most everything is definitely homemade! The biscuits and gravy are some of the best we’ve had. Lots of sausage in the tasty gravy. Also the breakfast green chile burrito is so tasty and full of flavor. It will not disappoint! Breakfast served till 3PM daily!

From breakfast to drinks, this is a great place to stop in Fremont. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ve never had to wait. The value is good. The food is wonderful. This was the perfect spot to come for Sunday brunch with a friend. We didn’t have to wait at all. enjoyed the french toast with a side of eggs. There was a mixup with my order which was frustrating but the food was very good. You get thick slices of custard break, sprinkled with nuts, with sliced bananas, syrup and whipped cream. She ordered the florentine scramble with a side of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.

I don’t usually hit up tiny neighborhood bars for breakfast… But dang. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast. Looks and tastes like high end breakfast-café diner deliciousness. Quiet, warm, friendly, at least at 8am.

I’ve only gone here for breakfast, and it’s really good. The apple-smoked ham breakfast sandwich is salty and buttery and AMAZING! Plus they serve it with extra good dipping sauce. The egg is perfectly over easy without being toooo runny. I would even recommend it(without ham) to my vegetarian friends. The mimosa was good. I got it because they don’t serve espresso drinks or have soy milk for the coffee. sorry lactards, you and I should go across the street to Café Vita for our coffee before hitting Ha! The service was very friendly, but super slow and inattentive. I was even sitting at the bar, but flagging someone down to get my check was pretty difficult. That wont stop me from coming back here though! Parking is on street only and can be difficult, so plan ahead.
