Evans Renovation

I could not be happier with John and Evans Renovation! We hired John to build us custom built-​in bookcases in our living room. He was wonderful throughout the entire process. We had excellent communication via email and phone, he was on-​time, careful throughout installation, and cleaned up better than I ever could! John’s also just a nice, friendly guy to have around your house — he’s very considerate and even asked me when my son napped so he could get the noisier work out of the way before nap time! He also bought my son a book so he could put something on the new shelves when they were done. Could he be any nicer? And our bookshelves are perfect!!!
I would recommend John 1000%.

John did some work to repair water damage on the siding of my house. He was super prompt, neat, and the work was first rate. He has a keen eye and sweats the details. I would definitely recommend him for jobs small or large

John installed some custom doors for our apartment today.

John did some work on my rafters and installation work in my kitchen, and I can’t say enough good things about him. He is *exceptional* on every measure. Really. Here’s what impressed me about him:

* Creative & a great sense of design — he’s got an eye for what looks good. (And if you’ve ever worked with a sub-​contractor who doesn’t, you know how exasperating that can be!) John can execute what you want to perfection or help you come up with a beautiful solution.
* Meticulous but fast
* Versatile — he has the skills to do what needs to get done
* Dependable — John gets back to you promptly, arrives on time, does everything he says, and all of that good stuff.
* And just a nice, kind person you’ll enjoy meeting and having in your home!

John was awesome! He was able to get me in and got everything done on my to do list in a professional and timely manner. I will definitely use him again!

John did some really great, original work for us. We asked him to build a set of stairs and, a railing plus some closets/​shelves underneath the stairs in our office. The twist was that we wanted him to use some old beams we had lying around and we wanted him to complement those old beams with other wood that would look similarly rustic. John had the fantastic idea to use foraged wood as part of the railings (which he foraged himself) and took the time to experiment with them until we found a look that worked for us. All our friends consider the work he did to be a work of art, not merely functional. And of course everything was within budget and looked professional and tidy (as tidy as rustic can be, anyway!) We’re very happy with the outcome. :-)
