Why is this place not totally crowded for Sunday brunch? Great food and great service! The menu is not too long(oui oui). They took a piece of toast, cut a hole in it, and put a fried egg inside. Kick ass… On the side were sauteed pots, red peppers, and onions. The latte was great. The servers were sweet, and the cook even asked us if we liked the food!

They named their restaurant Caffeine Café. These are my people. They understand. Plus, they serve something called a Caffeine Bomb which is ridiculousness in a cup. Something like 6 shots of espresso mixed into some chai. Damn. That’s a caffeine bomb all right. After you’re all hopped up on your caffeine bomb be careful where you step because the really pretty tile floors(love their mixed use of tiles and rock) are kind of easy to trip over, but everyone there is so nice they won’t make fun of you, too much. The food was pretty good too. It seemed odd to be paying around $ 8 for a sandwich at a coffee house, but the quality of the ingredients made the sandwich make perfect sense. What did not make perfect sense was that their«free» wi-fi” is provided by some bozo service provider that makes you deal with a banner scrolling across the top of your screen the entire time you are using it. Annoying.

Grabbed a mocha here. Prices are a leeetle high for brunch but I’m still committed to trying them our for a future brunch. Fun artwork in the bathroom. Friendly staff, fun artwork on the café’s walls, and red sofas that I want to steal for our place. Update: 10÷7÷07 After noting that brunch prices are higher than usual(frittatas go from a basic $ 8.95 for three cheese to a spendy $ 12.95 for name brand smoke salmon, onions & cream cheese) we stopped in after the gym. They’ve got a few brunch friendly items in the $ 6.25 range(a waffle«with orange butter and maple syrup» and a 2 egg breakfast). They have a unique one eyed and two eyed monster– hollowed out toast with an egg in the middle, cooked sunnyside up. Cute. I initially gave Caffeine Café 4 stars, but I’m docking them a star now. The waffle came with plain butter and aunt jemimah type syrup. Apparently the kitchen ran out of syrup and substituted this subprime syrup. Yuck. The server, while cute & friendly, was a bit clueless about the whole syrup thing.

Two words: CAFFEINEBOMB! It’s a deeeelish blend of chai and espresso. I might not sleep for days but think of all the work I’ll get done! Plus the people working were super friendly and actually seemed happy to be there. I can’t give five stars because I didn’t have anything to eat, but it looked good none-the-less!
