I’ve had this place bookmarked to review since we moved to Seattle 3.5 years ago. We ended up here because we were in temp housing and wanted to get out to eat something and watch football. Unfortunately, the waitstaff spent more time flirting with each other than tending to us. It won’t be missed.

Dang, out of business. Was a great place out of the way of Pike/Pine to watch sports. Slightly dirty, always fun. Will be missed.

Cheap prices TVs Everything else sucks. Dirty. Rude, LOWSY bartenders. Especially some guy who was super rude and mocked me. Didn’t want to order a cocktail or anything that invovled the bartender to put anything together for me. Hell no. Didn’t deserve the 18% tip I left. Regret it. Food = microwavable food.

Food was good and service was good. The bartenders were fun. Shuffle board table was different than we were used to which was a little disappointing since we went there for shuffleboard. They didn’t use salt, not sure what they used but the discs did not glide well at all and the table was very old and dented and leaned to one side. Other than that pretty cool place.

Even if you’re not there to watch sports, Auto Battery boasts a chill atmosphere for casual drinks, group partying, and some good pub games. Cocktails are great(and mostly named after cars) but the beer selection is also fantastic, mostly a good local showing. To keep you busy, there are darts and skee ball lanes in the back(skee ball breaks down a lot though) and pool and shuffleboard in the front. Also had a great patio and would be a perfect HH location for a warm spring/summer night.

There are many reviews of this place by people who are way more familiar than myself. I just ended up here with a friend one night and had a good time. Having access to po dog, by being able to order their food through a hole in the wall is a huge plus! It was kind of a typical divey sports bar, but that also means unpretentious and that’s really the laid back kind of vibe I got. Drinks were pretty cheap, they had very strong Jell-O shots on the cheap as well. The service was good. We went on a cold wintery night and it was very slow, however, I can’t remember if that was a weekday or weekend. This seems like a great hangout for a group of friends to drink, play shuffleboard and/or catch a game. A Cheers for a younger and sportier bunch.

One of the best sports bars we have been to in the Pacific Northwest… Gets really crowded on game days but then that’s expected when the Seahawks are playing :) Overall good ambience, lots of TV screens, nice variety of snacks/food options and great range of drinks. We will be back here soon.

+1 for being dog friendly +1 for inexpensive game day drink specials +1 for slangin some delicious hot dogs from next door This place can get ungodly crowded on a game day that’s for sure but there are plenty of TVs for viewing at all angles. The crowd overall is fairly tame and makes for a good time. Just rough when trying to order a drink or 10… because god knows you don’t want to get back in that line. $ 10 Busch buckets $ 2 Jello shots Outdoor area Games inside Not a terribly large bar but nice. Service is good overall.

This is a great neighborhood bar. It’s off the beaten path a little bit from the madness that is Capitol Hill which is a good thing as the crowds can be less than desirable on Pike & Pine during the weekends. The drinks are very reasonably priced and they have 2 free shuffleboard tables. They even have skee ball and a pool table in the back to keep you entertained with your friends. There are TV’s all over the place too in case you want to just catch a game.

If you are going to watch sports in capitol hill, its pretty much this or 95 slide. As a newbie to Seattle(like me), you may not be aware that a lot of bars do not have any TVs what so ever(particularly in capitol hill). Luckily auto battery has plenty. Versus 95 slide, I could go either way, but probably give the nod to the auto battery in the winter, mainly because they have games like pool and shuffleboard if you are bored by whats on.

Had some of the worst service in a while here. I rarely Unilocal, but gosh, the bartenders here were rude, slow and lazy. For management, one had a shaved head with a beard the other had glasses and wore a hoodie. Working in the industry for 8 plus years I understand the separation between people who are simply tired and frustrated vs. awful people who shouldn’t be doing what they’re should be doing. Stared at me with awful looks, took 20 mins to get served when it wasn’t even busy and not a single thank you. Most of the time they were just standing and staring! How did you become bartenders???

Don’t order the nachos or the 12th man tots. I can make better nachos than this. Barely melted cheese which is not even enough to cover the amount of chips they give you. If you think of nachos and it only includes black beans, olives, and jalapeños then this is the dish for you. The tots were salty and the onions were roughly chopped giving big chunks to choose from. Onion lovers behold– this should be a favorite. I don’t give bad reviews normally on food, mostly service but this was worth noting. The space itself is spacious but just note that if you’re coming to watch on game day there will be 3 different games going on simultaneously. I’ll come back some other time to give this place another shot but it won’t be for awhile.

Well… more than I was expecting! A friendly place with great beverages next smack dab next to a hot dog place– now that’s a good combo! I also have to give a shout out to the old school skee ball machines. Be still my heart– I think they even have the original balls for the game. There’s some cozy spots to sit inside and watch several televisions and there’s a porch area outside with plenty of room. We found parking near by in a garage– if you have some parallel parking skills in you, there is plenty of curbside spots. A must try if you are in or out of the area!

Great dive bar in Capitol Hill near Seattle U and Swedish hospital. It’s hidden and parking is difficult. This place is fun. Lots of TV to watch the sounders, Seahawks, mariners, UW! They have a Bloody Mary bar! Pbrs! Shuffle board, darts, games, and good vibes. poboy hot dogs next door. Seattle dogs… Yumyumyum. Lots of fun with local Seattleites.

I came here to watch the FIFA final at noon on a Sunday and had a fantastic time. There were vocal, enthusiastic fans from both teams in a fervent football frenzy. As a less exuberant fan myself, I was so glad to be surrounded by them. It was a fantastic atmosphere, and I’m glad Auto Battery attracts a great crowd. Secondly, $ 15 pitchers?! That’s $ 2.50 a pint for some decent tap options(I had a local saison that was perfect for day-drinking). You cannot get cheaper than that-you’re basically paying six-pack prices. Don’t even bother trying. There’s foosball and shuffleboard for those slower visits. It’s also pretty neat that the bar used to be a car shop-if you’re an auto buff, you’ll see little signs and knickknacks everywhere that will make you smile. With an ample number of TVs(they even have screens on the patio), you’ll likely never have an issue being blocked by someone. Go forth and cheer on!

Looking for a place to enjoy the hipster scene and watch sports?(I know this may seem like an oxymoron) Well, this is your bar! The auto garage theme is carried out throughout the bar in a cute way — garage doors, tools on the wall, specialty drinks on the menu are appropriately named. The menu is also full of hot dogs, delivered from the place next door. Also, THEYHAVESKEEBALL!(I’m obviously easily amused) They also have shuffleboard, pool, and a few other games to keep you entertained. What’s not to like here? The service. What’s up with these bartenders that seem to pretend you’re not even there? The bar wasn’t even crowded and I had to flag them down every time I was in obvious need of another drink. Otherwise, they stood at the other end of the bar staring into space or busying themselves with anything other than customers. If they upped the customer service, it would be a great place to hang out.

Love the shuffleboard here!!! It’s great that they have two, sometimes you might have to wait for it, but it’s worth it. I’m a fan of dive bars and Auto Battery is pretty divey so it fits the bill. There are lots of tables and seats around for small and large groups to hang out here. Our group of six came and we ordered beers and just played loud, drinking games for a few hours. Simple and fun; just the way some nights out are supposed to be.

We went here one weekend to see the UW game but the bar is unofficially reserved by Univ. of Georgia fans for all Georgia games, so we had to wait until that game was over before TVs could be turned to the UW/Arizona game. The U of Georgia game had an exciting ending, so we didn’t mind too much but I was surprised/appalled that none of the TVs were turned to the UW game when it started. We asked one employee about turning on the game and they said we needed to wait for the bartenders to do it. Lame. On the very bright side, they have skeeball! And an awesome patio and good fried-food appetizers. I’ll definitely be back because it falls in the ‘dive bar’ category for me and there seem to be a declining number of these places on Capitol Hill.

Everyone told me to go here. And I did on my last night in Seattle. That was a Mistake. This place is as good as it gets. Denise is a great bartender. Great Music and Sports on the TV and good music playing. Plus Food if you Desire from the Place next door. Which the hotdogs and stuff on the menu looked interesting to say the least and worth trying. I asked her for a craft beer to try first. I went with a White Ale and it was delicious. Then Next up I ordered Manny’s IPA which a Regular who i had a great conversation with by the name of Tomas recommended. And it didn’t disappoint either. Then I went with the Rear Ended Cocktail. And went back to beer. Love the Atmosphere and they have Skeeball and various other bar games. But I would pony up to the bar for one of the Two Happy Hours and leave Happily and buzzed and with meeting some locals.
