It’s sauce, not chili. Ordered the 3 chili dogs for $ 3 and got something that looked like bbq sauce. I would recommend sticking with the non-chili items here. Plus, spring for a polish or beef dog because they looked a lot more solid than my wimpy dogs. No indoor seating here and I didn’t even want to look at the restrooms so be ready. This isn’t the Ritz but it’s cheap and fast. Plus, in Santa Monica, you want to sit out in the patio.

Food is standard by Wienerschnitzel norms. The reason it doesn’t get at least three stars is because of the shady dudes who work there. ALWAYS pay cash, I’ve heard of people being weirdly charged after the fact. Always check your receipt! If I get a mustard dog, they hand me a mustard dog, but if I check my receipt they try to charge me for a chili dog. It’s only 40 cents or so more, but it adds up and happens every time. Always check your bag before you leave. Many times you will be a dog short. Also, the guy at the window seems to be personally financially on the line for every ketchup packet, so good luck getting more than two no matter how many dogs and fries you order.

If u don’t eat their chili cheese dogs don’t talk to me. Jk it’s delicious but dang nothing else would interest me other than that. Burgers yeah but it feels more guilty than McD’s.

Menu says turkey dogs. Not at this location. Waste of time driving over. They should have all advertised menu items.

Two guys working there are the worst case of people who really don’t give a crap about their work. Horrible service. I hope the owner see this post. There were really rude when taking order, no greetings, no thank you, stoic and bored and angry facial expressions, and just half throws you the food. Wow. I like the food, but never would go back because of the service.

Wienerschnitzel is one of my atfs(all time favorite spots) because their chili cheese fries are so good I can’t go more than a week without having these sinfully delicious fries. My dream is that a Wienerschnitzel would open right inside my house.

If you get a deluxe hot dog and some extra mustard you will be very happy. As a fan of Tommy burger they have fresh tomato dill pickles and onions. This combination with yellow mustard is an instant classic. This deluxe dog with some fries is a clutch hot dog treat. I used to have my dog with mustard and relish now I realize how wrong I was not having this classic combo.

My boyfriend and I went lastnight at 11:34pm thinking that they close at 12:00pm BECAUSE thats what it says on their website.!! When we got there. One of the guys yelled from the inside(we were @ the drive-thru) and said«were closed) sooo, pulling up closer to them we said«your website states that you close at 12» and the guy was being a punk about it and said«were closed at 11:30pm, I have no control over what it says on our website, we dont close at 12, its 11:30pm no acceptions» I then asked if there was a manager or phone number I could call in order to get that figured out because it was an inconvenience for us. And the guy replied«you’d have to come back another time when or while were open» I love weinerschnitzel. just dont like the lack of good quality employees/customer service. The food is awesome… the emoloyees are not.

I’m not always in the mood for chili dogs… but when I am, I prefer Wienerschnitzel. Seriously, the cravings just hit me sometimes. I used to live a couple blocks away, but even now I’ll find myself driving halfway across LA because I need my fix. I’m often left a little unsatisfied when everything is all said and done. I wish their fry portions were bigger(they are very good, but a Medium is like a small somewhere else) and the regular dogs & chili dogs are pretty flimsy. It’s a very awkwardly shaped building, but it works. At least they have a drive-through. The wait sometimes can be super variable, especially if it gets busy at lunchtime. The walk-up window is inconvenient because there isn’t much outdoor seating, and everyone is standing on the sidewalk staring at the same window to get their food.

I stayed at the Travelodge a block away and… Went to Wienerschnitzel twice. Ordered from the main window on the street side. And I kid you not, both times, my food got into my hands in less than 60 seconds. The chili and cheese dogs/burgers, whether they are real or not, is really good! 5 stars all around!

Never tried this place before, but I was walking back from Trader Joe’s and thought why not! I’m in the mood for chicken nuggets. But then I thought, no, I must try something a little more original and unique to the place. So I got the jalapeño popper chili cheeseburger. I think it was a new addition to the menu. It was also a mouthful to say! I enjoyed it a lot — those jalapeño poppers really made it yummers. Glad I tried this place out, and the service was nice and polite, too. There was this guy ordering ahead of me, and he was giving the servers a hard time and they handled it well.

My 5 year old is craving a plain hot dog so I decide to hit up the local Wienerschnitzel. Normally I find ALL of their locations too ghetto for me, but in this case, I made an exception. The hot dog was fine, but what really bothered me is the crappy attitude the order taker has when all I order is one hot dog. Then when I drive up to the window, I present my debit card, he looks at it and says’ credit card??”, I said, yeah, debit card. He just stares at me for a second, all disgusted, then turns away to run it. WTF? I can’t run out of cash? What, he never used a credit/debit to pay for a $ 1.41 item? It’s no wonder this chain is falling off the maps with zero customers and poor locations if this is the type of individual they’re hiring these days. It’s sad because it used to have a better reputation. Anyhow it should go without saying that I won’t be back.

I like Wienerschnitzel. Truth be told, they have no «Wiener Schnitzel», which is actually a breaded veal cutlet, usually served with potatoes. In German, Wiener means Vienna style. Schnitzel is a cutlet, a piece of veal sliced thin and pounded flat. If you are looking for real Wiever Schnitzel, you will probably have to go to your local Mexican place and ask for«Milanesa», because that’s about the only place you can find it. This Wienerschnitzel is a hot dog stand. Not a pretentious one like Pinks, but a place that is happy to sell you one of their quality food products for about a dollar. Looking for a corn dog? Chili dog? Looking to pay about a dollar, maybe a dollar and a half? This is your place. They have a number of other items, like fries, and it’s all cheap. Drive through. Fun and basic and no place to hang out at all. You know already if you will like it or not. It’s not for everyone, but I like it.

I read some reviews about people complaining about the«service» here. Get a god damn life, it’s a FASTFOODHOTDOG stand. Holy crap, order your food and eat it. How sad and/or boring is your life if you post a review to bitch about service at a fast food hot dog stand? Most of the people on Unilocal are such a joke. Haha, fricken tools. My review: Fast food dogs, quick and easy. Drive through hot dogs, good times. Chili dogs ain’t bad. If you want gooood dogs, buy and grill some yourself. This place is fast food, nothing more, nothing less. WIENERSYO!

hey, for junk food this isn’t too bad. didn’t run into any of the grumpy/bad workers mentioned in some of the earlier reviews, so hopefully management has resolved that issue… or i got lucky. i got the two corn dog + fries + drink meal. i haven’t had a corn dog in years. it was worth it. i ate that crap like a pregnant woman(which is to say, scarily, and in quick succession). the corn dogs were good — i don’t think i’ve ever had a bad one, though, so not much to compare the quality to, sadly. the fries were okay — by the time i got back to my office they had gotten a little cold/soggy, so they could’ve been better. the few hot ones i managed to cram into my maw on the drive back weren’t too bad. all in all, this place is fine. i will probably never eat here again, because how often do i crave hot dogs?!(hint: never) so, unless i get knocked up sometime soon and develop a fierce love for all things sausage-y and encased in pig intestine, wienerschnitzel will remain a fond memory of the wednesday in santa monica when this little lady wanted a goddamn hot dog.

Can the workers care any less? I mean, i understand you don’t want to work, as do many people, but don’t push it on the customers. The food is ok, i guess, if you lke fast food hot dogs that seem like they just warm up when its ready to go. everything is all smushed and soggy when you get it. I guess it gets the job done for pretty cheap. if you want to go there. you are better off with a hotdog form Costco. Minimalists. they take the order, give it to you, and that’s it. you have to ask for ketchup and napkins, IF you get there attention. They are lucky to have 2 stars, since its pretty cheap. I haven’t gotten sick from it. Not yet anyway. i will say that 99 cents for a chilidog after 10 is not bad. i am pretty sure people looking for food after 10 aren’t looking for the healthiest of meals.

Wienerschnitzel is one of those things that sounds like a FANTASTIC idea, and it isn’t until after you’ve done it that it hits you, you’ve made a horrible mistake. Every single time. The menu is full of hits and misses. Sometimes, greasy fast food turns a hangover into heaven, and is the perfect remedy. The chili is good, and probably what’s kept them in business all this time. Pretzel buns are good too. I enthusiastically recommend the strawberry limeade. DONOT get the«bacon-wrapped street dogs,» with limp, sad, flavorless bacon. Go to an actual street cart for one of those. The jalapeño poppers are pretty disappointing. As good as the chili is, the buns get soggy FAST. Yes, this is fast food and you get what you pay for, but Marissa S. is right on, this location has some of the most unfriendly, bitter employees I’ve ever seen. No greetings, smiles, or even«thank you,» and if you want to ask for ketchup or they forgot something, you’re SOL because they walked away from you as fast as they could after handing over your bag. I know that they can’t be too crazy about their jobs, but a little friendly customer service would go a long way.
