Some of the most disgusting food I have ever eaten served by an incredibly rude and incompetent woman behind the counter. What’s not to like? I live around the corner from this place and, after several weeks of non-stop cooking for a sick relative and his help, I found myself with an empty refrigerator and an empty belly at 9pm. Having never had a Yoshinoya bowl, I thought«How bad could it be.» I tried to call ahead and no one answered the phone, so I ran over. The place was nearly empty, only 3 people eating. The rude woman asked me what I wanted and I ordered a combo bowl and mentioned I’d tried to order in advance and no one had answered. «I was busy» she said, turning away. A single person in the back was emptying what looked like frozen food into shallow pans and eventually a box appeared. The rude woman turned and placed to box on the counter. No bag. No napkin. No nada. I asked for the drink that was supposed to come with my meal and she shot me a look before giving over the paper cup. After I filled it, I asked her to put the food in a bag. Again with the look. When I got home(about 3 minutes away) I found the food lukewarm, the rice congealed, no teriyaki sauce on the boiled-tasting meat, and strange-tasting shrimp. I threw it out. NEVER again. Feh.

There aren’t many people here and service is fast so if you want some really fast food this yoshinoya is pretty good. Staff is friendly and they seem to be having fun at work so it’s not stressful to be here at all. Sometimes people come in to ask for change so if that’s not your thing maybe avoid this location. Otherwise it’s not bad at all

This is the worse YOSHINOYA I’ve ever been to. The beef is not HOT temperature wise, even though I specifically asked that my food be served hot. Also there’s a sign saying credit card terminal temporarily down, a customer that ONLY had a card was able to pay with his card. Of course they’don’t already prepared his food and bagged it. In addition… as the customer came in he was told at 9:40pm that they only had chicken bcuz they had already turned off the grilled. BUT… here’s the kicker, they close at 10pm. So basically they strive to be on Interstate 10 by 10. What a pathetic night crew. Needless to say, I think they don’t want to pay the fee for the credit terminal, come in to work ready to go and will do anything to do so. Signed, So Sick of Sub-Par Customer Service :(

I don’t know where all the hate is from. The chicken teriyaki is excellent abd flavorful. The Angus beef tested do good abd fresh. For the price you cannot do better.

I walked in at 9:30 pm(they close at 10). I am told I can’t get the chicken bowl because they shut off the grill. I am watching the woman working here lock the doors as we speak(it’s now 9:40). This is absurd. Their closing procedures should not be started until they close. I understand it’s a Friday night, and they want to go home, but it’s unacceptable for any business. That’s how you lose customers. The manager of this place should put people on the night shift that want to be there.

Just got back from Yoshinoya from this location and I was soooo disappointed. I ordered a beef and vegetables bowl. This chick named Crystal was the cashier. She was like not in this world… no smile, no hello, no thanks. I just wonder how these joints survive with all these inexperienced people working at these places. My beef was ice-cold and so was the rice. The dude who was cooking I guess just poured some oil on my food because it just tasted like oil. The rice and beef were swimming in the oil. My food came so quick that I wondered if this was some food that was sitting on their counter and gave it to me. Gotta think twice before I go back to this place. Awww, by the way, it is very disrespectful that you guys ask for customers names. Why does the trillion people at the restaurant have to know my name?

I have frequented various Yoshinoyas around Los Angeles for a good 30+ years. Yes, since I was a kid. The quality and taste has been consistent, which is good. This particular location caught my attention because they were skimping on the portions. They were putting small bowl potion inside the large container. I took a picture and sent a complaint to their corporate office. One month later I went back, and noticed the potions to be back to normal. I was pleased. It goes to show if you are dissatisfied, they will fix it. Their franchisee listened to the complaints, and fixed the problem. +Points for that. I have always enjoyed their red ginger, which used to be out for grabs. But recently they store it away, and you have to ask for it. It’s ok. Cleaner this way. Overall I am impressed by their improvements.

I was here last Wednesday and they only have one register there. Do not come here during lunch hour as the wait is about 15 minutes from order to pickup. They skimp on the food too. I had about 5 – 6 pieces of chicken and a few strings of beef on my large combo order. I expected more plus they no longer have the ginger side out s my boss told me that they no longer leave it out as some customers would pack them in ziplocs to go. Not cool. My biggest regret is that the portions are smaller now and hope this would change soon.

Even in Japan, I had Yoshinoya on a daily basis. Here, I eat it about once a week. This is the worst Yoshinoya Ive ever been too. This yoshinoya leaves all the grease in the bowls, and use smaller bowls then the rest of yoshinoya. The staff is great, and I understand they work with what they have. But the food is terrible.

?What to say about Yoshinoya? As far as food goes, it’s edible. Sometimes it’s even adequate. The staff does their best with what they have and I especially like that I can order several items that total $ 6.66. If you’ve spent all your money on scotch and beer at The Daily Pint and you’re staggering east on Pico, this is the place for you. It’s never busy and gives you plenty of time to recover from your night out and reflect on your many poor choices in life — Yoshinoya being one of them. Also you didn’t choose the three large chain fast food places just down the street. This place is the best run Yoshinoya around. That may be damnation by faint praise but it’s the most that can be mustered for a $ 4.95 rice bowl.

Food is good and healthier than most choices in the area. That’s probably why it’s so loaded with people. It’s the only location in Santa Monica and the lines and Lunchtime prove it. Wouldn’t recommend going there during lunch because of the long waits in line. Service is great when you finally get through the lines. It’s just a mess. Almost like a Welfare office it’s so noisy and crowded.

The food is delicious, but the place is not that great to be at, sometimes the service is slow but you still get good food.

Alcohol — No beer to go with my beef bowl. :( Food — Beef over rice, Chicken Terriyaki over rice. Stir fried noodles. Never really had anything but the beef and chicken. Not everyone favorite place but I think Yoshinoya hits the spot when you’re looking for this type of food. This location is close to my work and I stop by at lunch sometimes. Service can be a little slow and it’s not always the cleanest but the food is not bad.

Had to get a chicken bowl, ‘cuz they were all out of beef; huge difference/mistake that I don’t plan on making again! It looked decent, but perhaps just not my cup of tea.

Since all Yosh’s are the same with taste, you have to judge them on efficiency and cleanliness. This location has pretty speedy service and relatively clean.

Seriously, you shouldn’t expect top-notch, top-quality teriyaki from Yoshinoya. The pity is on your side if you were actually expecting it. However, the standard beef bowl is where its at, especially when you sprinkle some of those red peppers on top. Top meat and best tasting? HELLLLLNO! Is it actually pricey for what you get? Maybe. But it does present to your taste bud and stomach with a small satisfaction when nothing better or else comes to mind. So, again, stick with the beef bowl and you will do just fine.(Only occasionally!)
