$ 7 dollars cover… That’s like the price of a cheap well drink in Santa Fe. Santa Fe doesn’t have a lot to offer but this place is not worth it. And the front bouncers are too friendly… But if you don’t respond well they become very unfriendly. Me and my friends all walked in and walked out instantly. It was a friday night and the feeling was not right. I hope… I mean hope that it’s better then the experience I had.

I’ve mentioned the five star tug in previous reviews, and I’ll reference it for this one, as well: you have a great experience at a venue and you look at the Unilocal rating and you’re like, damn, the ratings totally don’t represent. As far as Skylight goes, the ratings seriously don’t represent. What an extraordinary venue. But then again, I only visited once. I saw a concert from DakhaBrakha, it wasn’t a dance club thing. I simply loved the place. Two floors of opulence that spoke to the inner Creole in me(if I had those genes), that’s the best way I can put it. I’d love to see some cajun music in this joint, it’s just built for a party, with the refined extras of Fanta Se.(Quick aside: why doesn’t Santa Fe have a strip club called Fanta Se, yet?) Skylight is brilliant, gorgeous, panoramic sonic solitude, and if they’re actually hosting dance parties in the joint(I assume they are, based on the reviews) they’re catering to the lowest common denominator. This should be the intimate venue where every touring superband and superstar plays a late night set of acoustic jams. Basically, this is a wonderful venue. I was a little peeved that it took, like, five minutes for a draft pour. But the sound coming from the stage was ear-bending, and the intimacy of the crowd was exactly what I wished for.

The absolute worst bar in Santa Fe! Do not go here! Not only do they charge an exorbitant cover, they also charge $ 11 a drink! The music is rudimentary, the food is horrible, the staff seems to think that you need a right to be there. The worst service in Santa Fe, bar none! I FELTINSULTEDTHEMOMENT I WASUNFORTUNATEENOUGHTOWALKINTHERE! Listen, I am a combat veteran, Iraq twice, Afghanistan twice. I was forced to not shower for five months. I would rather do that again than go to this place! DONOTGOHERE!

There is not much seating and you need to make sure you have a reserved seat if the place is going to be full. We bought tickets in advance for the first time tonight and found that there was only standing room available. When we asked for a refund we were told that there was a disclaimer about seating on their web site and that they would not refund the ticket price; which they didn’t. We left without a refund.

I have been there twice and paid a cover both times and walked in only to find the place rather empty. I guess they have food, never tried it. I think this place is a bit depressing atmosphere wise. I guess they have stand up comedy. I may update my review if I decide to give this place another chance. I weep for Santa Fe.

It’s really between a 3 and 4, but it’s Santa Fe and after being ABQ last night this is 10 times better. The biggest problem so far is it is empty. This is a very large space probably over 8000 sq ft and two different room both with dance floors. This is a true dance club. The employees so far are great. Drinks are good and atmosphere is fun.

Please, please train your servers; I thought bad service went out in Santa Fe in the 1990’s but I was wrong. Not only bad but vacuous service. I went for a music show and sat upstairs, the servers– there appeared to be at least three– seemed to be doing laps around the balcony, looking neither right or left and at top speed. I thought they were just bad waiters but when the waitress went to the table next to up, who sat well after us and had full drinks, I realized that the waitress was not approaching us as we were two older women. With water that we grabbed on the way through the bar. The ignorance of our table continued until the band ended and inexplicably the house lights went up -(WTF, it was 10:30 and the bar wasn’t closing?), and we returned to our table to find our water glasses gone and the five dollar bill I had left out in hopes of attracting attention snatched away. I worked food & bev for many years. Never judge a book by it’s cover– we did want to drink and I am a good tipper. Not only did the server lose a good tip,(well except for the fiver she took for NO service), the business lost money and face. Train your staff. Please. Santa Fe deserves a decent venue that welcomes everyone. Even it’s aging female population.

This place got props at intro to Lyle L. concert. OK, to kill time to clear cars from across street parking lot, we went in. We had a drink. Had to wait a while for service. Sorry, but not much there on that night. I wish them well and purportedly the joint is part of the effort to enhance nightlife in SF but, with the exception of a glass roof, not much to bring me back.

Gotta give them props for bringing in the music. Seems like a fine place overall. A few more finger food type offerings and a wider selection of beer and cider would be good. I’m looking forward to seeing how this place develops.
