The worst coffee experience ever. Huge line is 20 people waiting on a Sunday morning and two uninterested workers tending to everyone’s needs. Poor management, I will never come here again.

I love this Peet’s. Everyone that works here is nice, friendly and kind. They make their customers feel valued and remember your name. I like hanging out/​studying here because the feeling is very positive every time I walk in. Customer service and customer experience is clearly a priority for these Peet’s team members. …And of course, the coffee and pastries are always satisfactory!

I like this location because they make great coffee and 90% consistent… The only thing is sometimes the line sometimes is moving kind of slow. But well worth the wait !

Stepping into Peet’s eager for the taste of their special brew… darn that line is long. Oh well, it will be worth it. Manager steps out from the back, looks at the long line and lets out a big yawn. She must be tired. The minutes go by with only one cashier and four others doing stuff behind the counter. Maybe one of them should start taking orders? The manager comes out and yawns again. After knocking out a couple emails in line I finally get to the front. Guy is nice enough, and I’m happy to have just placed my order. My order comes up pretty quick, but it’s in the wrong size cup… I grab the right size and throw out the original. Manager steps in and lectures me on wasting cups. I explain the either the order taker or the order maker made a mistake on my order. No matter, she says. Next time, just ask for it differently. Oh, ask for the right thing differently… I get it, my fault. No apology for getting it wrong, or for the lecture… nice manager… go back to yawning and try not to interact with customers too much. Love Peet’s, but I’ll make it at home next time.

Peet’s is wonderful and the employees are great but this Northgate store front is too small! Always crowded, difficult to get a seat. They need a new location with 50% more room.

Darkest coffee i have ever had but that is how i like it… friendly staff would recomend to most coffee drinkers and they have a very good tea variety as well… This might be my new hang out spot

Great location– I go here a couple times a week. Really good drinks; you’d think the coffee would be the same at all locations being that they make it from recipe cards, but it’s not– the Novato Peet’s near TOAST is terrible for some reason.
The manager has purple hair and is a sweetheart and Mark Twain sits in the corner holding forth. The Grab N Go is usually pretty full and the pastry display is too. Their fixtures are clean and the service is usually brisk, especially for a Peet’s.

I love peets coffee and would drive miles to get it, instead of Starbucks. However the staff at the north gate location is horrible. So rude, not friendly, horrible attitudes. I work at the mall and I went in today to get a coffee for my coworker. I’ve never been talked to the way that the barista talked to me. Very condescending. Pretty much threw the drink at me. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location. Horrible for me since I work in the mall. But no one should be talked to that way!

I love Peet’s Coffee and Tea! I went here with a friend today and it was great! The atmosphere was really inviting. The staff were fun and friendly, engaging us in good humored conversation as they prepared our order. I had a loose leaf Earl Grey tea with Bergmont, which was brewed to perfection. My friend had a mocha with whipped cream, and declared it was «a good day for mochas!» after sipping it! Their Major Dickason’s blend is always fantastic, especially in a press pot brewed for around four minutes. You can really feel the kick of the caffeine! We’re going to take the roastery tour in early 2016, and we can’t wait.

I go here everyday. It’s like a disease.
Everything is great the only reason I need to take a star is because the service is slow and the pastry options never seem to change.

This place is great.
It’s location (marin/​mall) could have put it over the edge, but this place does not give the feel of being in 1) overly entitled marin; 2) a mall or 3) a peets.
Great staff and vibe.
Full disclosure: I took one star off just because they’re a chain.

Best Peet’s I been to. Friendly staff and great service.
Barista (Decoto) makes a kick ass latté. Keep it up guys.

The service was eh at best. The one who took my order at least smiled at me but did not say hello or anything to let me know he was ready to take my order. I ordered the maple latte which I have had at other Peets and consistency or this one is just tht bad? I enjoyed the three I have had at other places. The two guys on serving the drinks were two busy worrying about the two young girls and their drinks then to care about my drink. The guy called me Julliana and I said «I think that it is suppose to be Orleana maybe» and his «yeah whatever» attitude was annoying. I asked for the drink to be warm which to him apparently means burn my mouth but whatever RIGHT? Anyhow. Disappointing. I have been at this location before and the Associate attitude seems to be sliding into negative land. So thanks I will sadly stick with SB. Worse I threw away the pourly made drink grrrrr

This is the best Peets in the bay area. They have an extraordinary staff! Always cheerful, always friendly, always doing their best, and always with a smile. Love Especially Tyler, but every employee there is genuine and happy. That must say a lot about the management. Good job
It is roomy inside and always clean. They have great outside tables to meet with friends.

This is the best Peete’s Coffee Shop in Marin. I used to go to the one in Corte Madera and Greenbrae, but this one in San Rafael just rocks. It has great ambience, service and it is close to Panera Bread and Chipotle, so I can get a cup of Joe, Burrito and pastry in one location!

How can anyone not like Peet’s? It’s like Starbucks, but stronger, a bit hippier (not a bad thing), and great employees… Love them, drink their coffee, and wish for good things!

5 stars for Richie, Brandon, Aaron and Lena. You guys rock. Richie is probably one of the best baristas I have come across. He made me a caramel macchiato the other day that was just killer. His latte art is great, too.
They whip through the line quickly and keep the store clean and tidy.
I come here every time I come to Northgate to up my caffeine a little before braving the stores (and trying not to spend everything in my wallet). Conveniently located in between Chipotle and Panda Express, which are two of my guilty pleasures.
