The sirloin tips and eggs were almost to the point of burnt black, looked like they had not cleaned the grill in a while. service slow(only one waitress), will not stop here again.

It’s HOP. The eggs are good, the bacon is good, and the service is good. Might not be up to par for Marin County’s snob reviewers, but it’s a good place to get a late night meal on the cheap. Solid place. A fairly decent IHOP.

I’ve been coming here for years and never had a problem. Yesterday there was a hair in my toast. The waitress said that the cooks were new. I would highly suggest that if you eat here, inspect your food carefully.

I am giving this restaurant the lowest rating EVER. It was definitely an,“I will NEVER come back here, again,” moment for me. I was greeted and seated to wait for a table. Servers, know the menu and what serving is. Know how to satisfy the consemer BEFORE the plate comes out. It was a busy Sunday like any other. I do need more than a minute to look at the choices especially when they are scattered all over and none were offfered to me save a drink. I ordered a standard biscuits adn gravy breakfast with the works. The bacon was not cooked. I sent it back. the buscuits were covereed in a sauce sans meat of any kind. teh«biscuits» were sliced in half, toasted, burnt side up. Wow, really? I did not eat them. The hashbrowns were a toasted square with runny eggs. Not once, even after I sent back half the order, was I asked if I needed anything else. No extra napkins, drink refill and hello, a server should not bring uncooked food to the table. It cost him a tip. I never do that. Know what customer service is. It isn’t just a clean restaurant or a smiling cook. It is good food, served well and with some regard for the consumer. The only plus was the calorie count on all the items on the large menu. I can wager that none are done well. I won’t be back. It has been 10 years since I brought my family to the Marin location. I have eaten there for decades, since I was a kid. Nope, they lost me and it would have been more cost effective to keep me. Good bye IHOP, hello Denny’s.

We went there last Friday, they had no cream for the coffee. We walked out. Never again. Stay away from this place… used to be good, but no more. The IHOP in Novato is SOMUCHBETTER.

the world according to noelle ~2012~ On our way to visit the San Rafael Mission my husband and I decided to stop in for breakfast at International House of Pancakes. One should note that the parking lot is very small and parking is very limited at best. The waiting room faces the kitchen area and is very cold and drafty. Customer service is fast and friendly. My husband and I both ordered the pancakes, eggs, sausage and the hash brown special. I ordered a French-Vanilla flavored coffee which was tasty. I had the New York Cheesecake pancakes which were fluffy with bits of cream cheese scattered throughout the pancakes. My sausage wasn’t cooked thoroughly, so I sent it back. The eggs were fine, the hash browns weren’t terribly crispy and were served in a rectangular block — different from the other IHOP locations I’ve dined at. The restaurant is clean, the service was fast, but the food was just okay. I’ve been to better IHOP locations and this one is definitely just so-so food wise. If we were in the area again we definitely not dine here.

Pumpkin pancakes were very undercooked. Side of bacon was really a side of grease. The waitress seemed to speak little to no English.

Went on a Sunday about 10:30am. Wait time was about 25 minutes. Total mad house, not organized. Restaurant is WAY too small for crowds. Even better they call you by number and as default they call the numbers in Spanish. Only if no one answers do they translate to English. Its like being in Mexico without the culture. This place is a ghetto dump. The food is IHOP. IHOP is a fine place to eat at other locations but this is the worst I’ve ever seen. Avoid. Unless you don’t speak English, didn’t shower this morning and are bringing 14 kids with you in which case you should eat here every day.

I’m not sure why this place has such low rating. I went to this IHOP to take advantage of International Pancake Day 2012. The pancakes were fluffy, to my surprise! The servers were extremely nice and knew right away about my intentions of wanting free pancakes. The servers did not mind at all. I ended up getting some hash browns and two eggs on the side. The only thing I didn’t like was that I got my eggs over-easy, but one egg was punctured when it was served to me. But I’m not going to be a baby about something so minor.

Come on how hard is it to make a decent breakfast. Service is great and if you like to hear old couples that are not married talk about each others kids this is the place for you

IHOP San Rafael Visited here Saturday morning and it was really crowded, cramped and loud. The set-up was — bad. While you are waiting to be seated you are staring at the kitchen and bus area which is just chaotic. The entire place is far too small and the tables were situated way to close together. The food was just okay! Nothing was exceptionally good. =( Everything we got was very salty. Sadly, both of our orders of hash browns came out very mushy lol. It was pretty gross. We sent them back and our waitress did bring much better replacements quickly. The pancakes were also pretty mushy and soggy(very disappointing). On the positive side the customer service was good. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. Would we go back? Hmmm … Nope I don’t think so. Sorry. 2.5 Stars of 5. For Unilocal I’m going to say 2 Stars of 5 Stars. I don’t recommend. I think there are much better places to go for breakfast or any meal.

Well this is disappointing! I was the first to write a review of San Rafael’s only iHop several years back, and I meant every start and word of it – then. But that was then, and this is now… Today it seems like a different place — seriously. In the past 4 months I’ve been there twice and had terrible experiences both times, especially with the food quality. What is going on? Did it change hands or does it now have new management? Is it the result of this new economy? Are they cutting corners so sharp to save $$ that this is the result? If I could give it 1.5 stars I would have. I hope they read this and bring back the old iHop!!!

Together we have been to two IHOPs so far, this was the second. Marin is kind of lacking when it comes to IHOP locations… in fact this is the only one. Because of that, this one is always super crowded. Always. In terms of quality, eh its not as good as others but not worse enough to be given a lower review than the standard three stars. We did miss the lack of deals here compared to the one in Daly City, and the service was lacking, but otherwise on par for the franchise. All in all, decent. I don’t think we will be back, but we will probably try another IHOP location in the future.

The retaurant was unclean and very warm. My boyfriend’s milk was warm. Plusses– perfectly fried eggs and friendly service. I thought it was over-priced for what we got, though b.f. loved his pancakes. Stick to those and if you don’t pay attention to the mucky floors you’ll be fine.

Some co-workers and I decided to hit up IHOP for lunch today, a break away from the chaos of Black Friday. I had their Sirloin Tip and Eggs, one had the T-Bone Steak and Eggs, and the other, a Spinach(and other stuff) Omelette. All were at par with what you’d expect of a breakfast place like IHOP. The wait staff, even though busy, still gave us all the customer service necessary to get us out of there in a decent amount of time. I was most definitely content with the dining experience. Not bad for IHOP!
