The Schlafly Taproom has some great beers and food. There is free parking in their lot. I loved the amount of beer choices that they had here, probably around 20 or so. It’s a real laid back atmosphere in the bar. Got a beer flight here with some good IPA’s and other beers. They do have 6 packs for sale here of their beer and an awesome growler filling station area. Now for the food review we first tried the soft pretzels with cheese dip, very tasty. We also got the beer cheese soup, very flavorful. The Cuban Sandwich here is probably one of my favorites I’ve had. The pulled pork was very moist and the flavors all go together well. The taproom has a lot of cool décor if your a beer fan. The giftshop had a lot of great Schlafly gear. Overall this is one of my favorite breweries I’ve gone to.

I have been a regular since they opened, and on my last visit was so disappointed by the fries(which used to be the BEST in St Louis) that I sent most of them back to the kitchen. They tasted of being frozen and if not we’re at least hard and cold. I LONG for the days when a plate of fries(with dipping sauces — stated on the menu, though you still have to ask for them) was to DIE for …

I had a fish and chips, and a beer. Not as most reviewers say that the fish and chips are their favorite, I think the fish is sort of separated from the outside flour cover. I don’t like it that much. But the fish is freshly fried though. The beer is great!!! The service is very good. They are friendly and serve food fast.

what a wonderful little spot. i’ve been a fan of schlafly for years, and make a point to visit whenever i’m in town visiting family. however, yesterday was my first time at the taproom. i have to say, the schlafly brand just does it right, no matter the location. service was extremely warm and friendly. beers, per usual, were delicious, especially the double bean blonde– like dessert in a glass! i’ve always loved schlafly food, and this is the first time i’ve been back since they have revamped their menu to more truly reflect locally and seasonally available products. they had a special of a seafood chowder that was absolutely phenomenal; it was rich, but had huge herbaceous notes which balanced it beautifully. we also got the pita chips and dips appetizer to share. these pita chips are clearly freshly fried before being served, and, while, crisp, gave way to a nice, chewy softness too. the dips were great: classic hummus was just the that, the olive tapenade was a nice mix of green and black olives, and the beer cheese spread was so smokey and savory, it would honestly make an awesome addition to mashed potatoes, too. one note on the beer cheese spread– i was expecting something more smooth in texture, but this was a little bit more like the texture of a pimento cheese. however, the flavor was excellent, and my s.o. absolutely devoured it. if you’ve not been to this schlafly location yet, i highly recommend giving it a shot. i know it’s downtown, but there is a dedicated lot right next door, which i think helps with any parking agita.

Best shepherd pie evar! Hearty dark gravy full of meaty goodness and covered with buttered potatoes and crispy on the top. This is the most flavorful shepherds pie I have tasted, which may be partially attributed to the lamb they use in the meat mix, or whatever kind of crack they out in the sauce. STICKYTOFFEEPUDDING: You want one. Soaked in caramel sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, and sporting a scoop of whipped cream on the side, this rich piece brownie/cake/dolce-de-leche-like piece of heaven will demand your attention until it has been consumed. I recommend that you bring a friend for tackling this monster dessert, since you won’t want to leave any on the plate. They did have some healthy alternative items like the fish special, which was very fresh, as well as mahi tacos which are pretty tasty too.

This is my go-to place whenever I’m in downtown St. Louis. It’s called a taproom, but this is a huge space with a couple different bars and a full restaurant area. And it’s more than just greasy bar food. The menu is way better than you would expect, with offerings like mahi mahi tacos and jagerschnitzel. The beer bread is fantastic. Of course, you probably come here for the beer, and there’s lot of great stuff to choose from. They usually have their regular lineup — your pale ale and whatnot — along with whatever’s in season and some specialties. On a recent trip, I had the Tasmanian IPA and the Irish stout. Both were excellent. Schlafly helped revolutionize the St. Louis beer scene, and this is their flagship. Go and be happy.

This place has a really cool vibe, and the servers/bartenders are pretty chill. I’ve only been here twice, but the food both times was excellent. There is only one item on the dessert menu, a toffee bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream, and it’s really good. The beer-steamed mussels and fries(~$ 17) were also really good, and I thought the mussels selection was a unique part of the menu. Wouldn’t have expected to find those at a brewery.

I’ve enjoyed Schlafly’s beers for a while, so naturally I had to stop in here when I was in St. Louis. The Tap Room did not disappoint. I had a flight of beers, all of which I greatly enjoyed, and the food was surprisingly very good(especially for bar fare). I requested my burger be put in a lettuce wrap instead of on a bun(because I’m one of THOSE guys) and they had no problem at all accommodating me. Service was on point and the prices were very reasonable. If you’re looking for a good lunch/dinner spot in St. Louis and love trying new beers, I can’t recommend this place enough.

It may have been the weather and the fact that it was a Sunday on Valentine’s Day, but the place was rather empty. This location is the original Schlafly location and they offer on site brewery tours with free beer at the end(unfortunately we missed the last tour of the day) there were two sides and I believe we were on the tamer of the 2 sides but we grabbed spots at the bar and chatted with the bartender our entire visit. We ordered a flight of 6 Schlafy beers to share and hthe bartender heard me mention that I’m typically not a fan of oatmeal stouts so he threw in an extra sample just so we could both try it. He was very knowledgeable not only about Schlafy, but also about the craft beer industry overall and we had a entertaining and through provoking conversation. Once again, the beers aren’t my preferred style, but I can see why people love the brand. It’s definitely worth a quick stop and their merchandise was the best designed and cheapest of all the breweries we visited over the weekend. I’d definitely go back for a free tour and to pick up an awesome growler! Also, they have a TON of on site free parking(which I feel is a huge bonus when it comes to breweries now a days)

Beer was cold and super delicious! I got the sampler so I could pick 6 different beers. The IPAs were all awesome! The Bavarian pretzels were fantastic, the cheese sauce was amazing! The Tri-tips sandwich was the perfect lunch. The BBQ sauce on it was just the right amount of tangy and spicy. It was pretty empty here on a snowy afternoon, but I liked the vibe a lot. It has its own parking lot which makes life easier. I would def be a regular here if I lived in St. Louis!

February 8, 2016 My food was horrible. My date had the French Onion Soup which she said was very good. Maybe that’s what I should have ordered. I had the meatloaf with onion, egg, English Muffin. I do not recall seeing cheese as being part of the ingredients on the menu but if there is a deal buster for me, it’s cheese on my sandwich food. If we would of had the time, I would have sent this back and ordered something else. The meatloaf sandwich just was bad. Maybe you would like it but not me. Our server was perfectly fine. The beer was perfectly fine. The atmosphere was perfectly fine. The parking lot is perfectly fine. Just don’t order the Meatloaf English Muffin thing.

Wow, got to say this place really was satisfying with the food. The taste on the wedge salad and how it was prepared was just perfect. As for the prime rib sandwich, I cannot say anything bad about it, satisfying and nothing was wrong with my order.

This is one of my favorite pub-style spots. Part live concert venue, part restaurant, and part Schlafly merchandise shop, there’s always a lot going on. The restaurant is my favorite part of the deal. Plenty of Schlafly on tap in all their various styles, and their food is really good.(I recommend the burger, definitely a solid choice) The live music has been hit and miss when I’ve went, and I’m not much into the merchandise, but all around a solid place!

Everything here is what is expected — along with they have a board that has a new drink on it– with customer comments not just workers — good to hear people’s out looks– Fast service, quality ingredients, fresh food, great atmosphere, and the best customer servic– the server was super nice– have been to both locations — but this one is a FAV

The Schlafly beer you love and an even better menu than the Bottleworks location. Keep your eye on your car though — theft can be bad on this street.

The place was about half full on a rainy Monday night, but that was ok since we had no problem getting a seat away from everyone else so we could hear each other. There was also a separate smallish bar area in case you wanted to watch the game or something. Service was pretty attentive and they came back even when we said we needed a few more minutes(not every place does that… sometimes if you snooze, you lose and you never get the server back again, sadly). The food was meh. The beer was better. Most stuff on the menu was sandwiches or appetizers, with a few other dishes thrown in. I got the Cuban sandwich and while the sandwich was good, the potato salad not so much. It had enormous chunks of potatoes and was pickled-tasting, which wasn’t really my thing. I maybe should’ve ordered the burger instead, which I tasted and liked better, and the fries that it came with were definitely the better of the potato sides. The bag of pretzels came with three long delicious sticks of pretzels with too much salt, but we just scratched it all off. The cheese sauce for the pretzels was also delicious. They have a long list of beers on tap and my favorites were the coffee stout and the Christmas ale. I think that’s really the main draw of this place, not the food, unfortunately. But worth a visit if you’re in the area. Schlafly is one of St. Louis’ most well-known breweries that isn’t that other really big one that just bought SABMiller.

Was visiting in St Louis for a wedding and met some local family members for lunch and brewskis. Really cool taproom with a long list of beers on tap. The interior is very spacious with two sides, a bar side with high tops and TVS and a more family focused eating side. Since the TXOU game was on we had to be by TVS so sat on the bar side. Great atmosphere, very attentive helpful service, and delicious beer and food. My favorites were the chicken salad sandwich which was fresh and tasty. It had avocado and sprouts in it which were a nice touch. I didn’t care for the pumpkin ale but the Oktoberfest was perfect. Very impressed with this St Louis establishment and would return if I was ever back!

Love this place. Gotta love a place that not only brews great beer, but that also delivers great food, too. I have always been a fan of their raspberry hefeweizen, but their Oktoberfest is king. Don’t forget to take your own mix-a-six home to enjoy, too!
