Best barbecue food I have ever tasted in my life, the people there are so friendly and great. I felt welcome when I waked though the doors, being there made me feel like home. I will definitely go back there. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Thank you

Ordered the French dip with Gruyère cheese and holy shit it was amazing! The bread was perfectly soft yet toasted, and the meat was so tender I could actually bite into my sandwich with out pulling out all the meat.

For some reason when I go to the coast, I do not crave food from the sea– rather I crave BBQ. I am a big fan of Santa Maria style BBQ and that is what I was seeking on this visit. Sadly I left here with less money in my wallet and a tummy full of regret. I will say, the service here was worthy of 5+ stars though. The lady that waited on me couldn’t have been any nicer or accommodating. She made small talk and seemed to enjoy her job. With that out of the way, I found this place on my app and I was sold on coming here after I saw so many reviews and their overall high rating. I pulled into the parking lot, located in a strip mall, on a weekend and was surprised to find the place was dead. There was only 1 couple in the whole place, and they were sitting outside. One thing that seemed strange was that even when I approached the door, there was no smell of grilled meat. One would think that would be the first thing you would smell, however even upon entering the place there still was no smell of anything related to BBQ. I decided on the Tri-tip sandwich and a Tri-tip slider w/a side of beans. The beans were NO good, they tasted like a can of sweet pork n beans with a hint of chili spices and some kidney beans thrown in. I like sweet, even in my beans but these were just garbage. The tri-tip, while it was mostly tender, had absolutely ZERO flavor!!! It definitely didn’t have any discernable bbq/grill flavor. I was originally going to eat at Moe’s in Pismo, but it was a holiday and as anyone who has ever been to Pismo knows that places get crazy busy. I regret not waiting it out. As I said, the employee was super friendly and the place is really clean… I’m guessing that is because they aren’t cooking anything there, I kid, I kid. There are about only 5 or so tables inside, with about 2 or so outside. There are no restrooms here, and if you want a refill on your drink you have to ask someone behind the counter. After leaving here I drove down the road and got something else to eat. This place features the ‘Brahma Bull Challenge’ which was featured on Man vs. Food, it requires the winner to eat: 3lbs of Tri-tip, an entire garlic loaf and one pint of BBQ sauce or salsa. Winning the challenge gets you a free lunch every Friday. Sounds more like punishment to me.

Awesome service. Loved the food and the fries were the best. I stopped here after work and I forgot to get my receipt because I was getting reimburst for my meal. I called and they had a copy for me. That’s what I call great service

Always order takeout from this location since there is pretty much no ambiance at the lovr location. Ordered 6 oz. Tri tip and a baked potato which turned out delicious and hot. The tri tip wasn’t chewy and was juicy and flavorful. Their BBQ sauce was too sweet and overpowering so I skipping it. My husband ordered a avocado, bacon burger on ciabatta and it was huge! I tried a bite and it didn’t dissapoint. Very juicy and flavorful meat again and the bread was very fresh. We will definitely order from here again.

A little disappointed with what I thought would be a great meal. I stopped off to get some food to go on my way home from work. I ordered a half chicken and half a rack of beef. The ribs aren’t very meaty and they are tough, so you can’t get some of what is on there. The chicken is dry. The flavor of the sauce is good though. I also ordered fries, cornbread, and beans. Everything tastes yummy. Also they serve cinnamon butter with their cornbread. I accidentally put it on thinking it was honey butter like should be on cornbread. Not so great. Don’t make the same mistake. If you go I would order a sandwich.

Our family finally tried the new Rib Line restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised, We tried it because we’d met the owner at an event a friend had catered and we were impressed by both the food and his great attitude. We didn’t know the restaurant had a happy hour that included some great food and beer and wine prices, so that was a nice surprise. Our party had a good sampling of items. Ribs, a tri-tip salad(leftovers from a half size!), tacos, chili, mac ‘n’ cheese, fries. The food was fresh and high quality. The very friendly hipsters on staff provided attentive, personable service and gave the place a nice, comfortable vibe. It was an enjoyable experience all around. We walked out wondering why we hadn’t tried it sooner. We’ll be back.

The sandwiches are really really good. Recommend taking things to go though, because they seemed to have an infestation of tiny white bugs on the windows. A swarm of little white bugs the size of powder, didn’t see them at first until I realized the window wasn’t quite transparent.

Just had lunch at the Ribline this past week. It’s a great little sports bar in a nice little shopping center in the middle of San Luis Obispo. There were two of us in our party and we were able to order two different entrées and there was enough on each plate to be able to share half with the other person. The dinner salad made a nice side dish.

I stopped in SLO for a night, and I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, so I gave this place a try. I probably wouldn’t have eaten here if I didn’t see the reviews because it looks like such a hole in the wall. The joint seats maybe 12 people, and the room is pretty small, but it’s got a nice down-home feel. The girls taking our order were helpful and straightforward. I had a pulled pork sandwich, which was to die for – I believe it was called Kiss the Piggy, something like that. The meat was so tender, a little tangy and a little sweet, but it just melted in your mouth. The bread it was served on was actually garlic bread, which was different, but tied the sandwich together. My dad had a sampler type of plate, and everything on there was amazing as well: pork ribs, beef ribs, tri tip… I’ve had good Texas BBQ my fair of share of times, but this is hands-down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Oh, and the chili is a must as well.

This place… This place… The Rib Line is almost just about as good as it gets. I came here with my family three times within the span of two weeks, and enjoyed every meal in a unique way. The first time I ate here, I was slightly put off by my initial interaction with the menu. It is clear that this restaurant is well aware of the succulency of their samplings, as the menu is littered with references to their awards, and their appearance on the television show«Man vs. Food». Personally, I feel that their overemphasis of their appearance on this show detracts from the artfulness of the establishment. The association between the two causes the Rib Line to appear as if it favors quantity over quality– which is not the case. Contrary to what its name suggests, the Rib Line excels in all quintessential barbeque-related foods, with some tasteful additions, like pulled salmon(a la BBQ pulled pork) as well as a marinated BBQ portabello mushroom cap. Out of all of the delicious options provided on the menu, I most enjoy the tri-tip chili and the sliced tri-tip. The tri-tip chili is much different from what I initially expected it to be. This mixture of meat, tomato base, spices, and potentially, other things, appears to be a stringy mess. I URGE you to disregard its less than perfect appearance. Smoky, spicy, and warm, this concoction tastes like a sheepskin throw feels. I appologize if you have not encountered this sensation. You should probably visit this restaurant before its too late.

RIBMENOT ~~~~~~~~~~ WHATUNHOLYBBQHELLDID I STUBBLEINTO? On a night that I was on the way to Whole«Paycheck» Market for a BBQ Whole Chic, after a few years of avoiding this place, I decided to give it a shot, & drove in. WHAT A MISTAKE! !!! I wanted a combo of Chicken, Pork, & Beef Ribs only, but it turned out that I had to pay quite a bit for each. I think it was close to $ 40…for crappy take-out without sides. It was dead on a Friday night about 7PM, which was not a good sign. UGHH! I was in a rush & they told me that it would be a 10 minute wait. The place is drab: DRAB DRAB DRAB (did I say DRAB?) DEPRESSING DEPRESSING DEPRESSING (did I say… wait for it now… depressing? ;) & looks as CRAPPY as the food(it turns out). I had the weird feeling that I was doomed, to reheated bland leftovers, that would be overwhelmed with BBQ sauce… It was prophetic for sure!!! …since that is EXACTLY what I received when I unraveled the foil when I came home. The ½ Chicken was the size of a STUNTEDNYCPIGEON & was tough as one(not that I know… unless, my mom was economizing a tad… when I was young) …most of that $ 11(OMG $ 11 for ½ of ½ of almost NOTHING) went into the trash. The Beef Ribs were also tough, tasted like they were microwave reheated, & had this same sweet BBQ sauce. The Baby Back Pork ribs were so tough that it was hard to separate them, even with my super-sharp custom made Japanese knife… direct from Japan! Obviously, they where not too easy to chew, with my non-imported duller teeth. I would say that it ranked among the worst BBQ ever. Definitely not fresh & definitely slathered with a sweet BBQ sauce to to try to hide this. Much of it tasted like«Candied Grizzle»… What a waste! It even made the BBQ Chicken at WHOLEPAYCHECK LOOKLIKE A F-IN BARGAIN!!! Now that is AMAZING! WHATUNHOLYBBQHELLDID I STUBBLEINTO?

Okay, have to say that I do like the owners story of how they met, the cooking awards and the fact that they are family owned and have indeed a very nice family. That said, the place on LOVR needs that type of attention. The counter girl was unfriendly, pretty cold and uncaring. The ribs could have used a little more BBQ sauce, which apparently is like gold because when I asked for some; I got a small portion for my rib plate. Why not have some out so we help ourselves? And, get people who are caring and customer oriented and more like the owners.

My family and I popped into Rib Line as more an afterthought than anything. It was surprisingly slow for the day after Christmas but we took that as a good sign to eat and talk. We ordered the tri tip sandwiches and found them to be excellent. The portions weren’t exactly generous but it was enough for a lunch. Prices were a little high but was overall a good value. The only thing I would add is that the service is lacking. Two teenaged workers were sitting at a table eating their own lunch. They weren’t welcoming nor did they even express thanks for my business. This is the only downside of my dining experience.

ZEROSTARS! !!! I got food poisoning from this crap hole! I was unable to eat for four days and had diarrhea, I have never felt so sick in my life. I was so upset I was considering calling the Better Business Bureau. Right before ordering I was leaving the bathroom and I saw two employees getting out of a smoke filled SUV with smoke bellowing out behind them. That Is the only thing I can attribute my sickness to. I was really enjoying my meal until about the last bite of my pulled pork sandwich too, it’s to bad because I am a loyal customer unless something like that happens. I never refer people here.

Let me start off by saying that the customer service here is outstanding!!! Randy took care of us from the moment we walked in to the moment we left! He gave us great options on what items to try and assisted with all our needs. I ordered the Famous Tri-Tip sandwich with fries, baked beans, corn bread, and potato salad. My sandwich was delicious they were not stingy at all with the meat, the beans and fries were spot on and let me not get started on the cornbread!!! Yum!!! You have to order it when you go!!! I had to order four for the road. The potato salad was just okay in comparison to everything else. I will definitely be making another stop here before I leave.

We got the Kings Dream Sandwich. Tri tip with BBQ sauce, bacon and avocado. This sandwich was HEAVEN. Perfectly cooked and juicy. The gentleman who took our order was so sweet, funny and helpful. Definitely recommend and will return!
