I’m not a huge fan of bars in general. But sometimes you just need a divey place to have a drink. If that place happens to serve bomb tater tot nachos(tatchos) and they make a decent chicken wing. Who’s to argue? The beer selection is just awful. Goose Island. Coors. Etc. they do have DBA so that’s good. But this is a spot for booze and loud music. The servers were nice and the service was quick for the food. But don’t come here for a meal. Come here when you don’t need to remember who you’re with. Places like this work well in this town and there’s no reason they shouldn’t. If you’re looking for a dinner spot or a good beer selection you’ve got better options. But if Frog and Peach is too full this’ll do I suppose. And plus. The tater tots are hella good.

I guess this place is ok if your a college kid looking to party, but please don’t visit mid-day. My husband, son, and I stopped in during lunch time on a Saturday. There was only one person working(I don’t blame her for the bad service, no one can expect one person to do everything). The food was really gross and mediocre. We didn’t receive half of our order(we didn’t complain or ask for it since what we did order was super bad), and that’s not even the worst part. My son spilled some of his water and when we wiped it up with our napkin, it was black! They DONOT wash their tables ever. It was filthy, and unsanitary, as were the bathrooms.

We found this place by accident on Thanksgiving eve when everything else was closed. We were doubtful, but desperate. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was good, and the Jalapeño Burger was AMAZING! We’ll be back.

Marston’s, with out a doubt, has the best staff downtown. Tyler(aka handlebars) and Tony(the bearded wonder) are always guaranteed to put a smile on your face and Josh always makes sure to take proper care of his customers. Late night it gets pretty crowded, but they make sure to keep the scene under control so that everyone has a good time. Food is also to-die-for!!! Taco tuesday and sunday brunch are must hit while in SLO. They definitely bring back the small town feel to this college town.

Marston’s has one of the best atmospheres for sporting events in SLO, especially on football Sundays. Its friendly staff and delicious food make up the ideal bar and grill environment. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it.

This is by far one of my 3 favorite bars in San Luis Obispo, so much so that myself any where from 5 – 15 people drive up from San Diego just to go here and see Josh Cantrell and Tyler Phillips. Every time we come to town we are treated like royalty. While the food is your classic American bar food it if well done. Marston’s offers a vibe that makes out of town folk like me feel like I’m right at home. The San Luis Obispo crowd can be very irritating with a rash of drunken college students who are self entitled and have no respect for the industry people that keep that town alive. Keep up the great work Josh and Tyler! We will see you soon! Much love from San Diego.

We came in here on a Saturday because there was sound playing for the Dodgers game and the bar had an open-faced front that allowed you to people watch and catch a cool breeze. So the Dodgers were in a postseason battle with the Mets and TCU was playing K-State and were about to get upset. All of the customers were enjoying the vibe and then a few male employees get off of work and post up in the bar. One of them puts on the USA vs Mexico soccer match on the biggest screen and switches the speakers from the Dodgers commentary to the Soccer match’s. All of the fellow customers voiced their anger and about 3 different tables got up and left. The off-duty employees just sat there with a cocky smile. We will never come here again.

BEWARNED ! ! ! ! ! We’ll never go there again and we warn you to beware, especially of Josh(the Manager). Josh will take advantage of you in a breath …(see another review of them changing the tip) On Sunday we were at Marston’s having brunch and our friends were enjoying the bottomless Mimosa’s. During the brunch one of our friends started to feel ill and on his was to the bathroom and didn’t quite make it and also upchucked in the bathroom. Josh brought over the mop and bucket for him to clean up the mess, which he did, and then charged an additional 50 dollars for the mess … WHICHOURFRIENDCLEANEDUP. Josh was rude calling them drunks and idiots You have been warned

The hot wings on Wing Wednesday are sooooo good! Seriously, they’re the best in town! They have a variety of great flavors but they are cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Honestly never had anything else there. In addition to the wings, drinks are well made and they have great brew on tap to pair with your wings. Lots of screens to watch your sports games.

Quite possibly the BESTBARINSLO!!! First off, the staff here is incredibly friendly. Josh and Tyler are a dynamic duo and will serve you quickly and efficiently, regardless of how slammed they are. The food here is delicious. Taco Tuesday!!! Make sure to try the chicken sriracha, three little pigs, and the western. All are a delight to the taste buds, without being too heavy or too much. The wings on Wednesdays are great, with multiple sauces. Fish tacos on Fridays are also light and crisp, with a tangy sauce. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, this place transforms into a nightclub. This one DJ, Solstice is his name, get the place rockin with a killer light show. It is THE place to be when he is mixing. Always packed wall to wall, from around 11:30 to closing(1:45AM). Looks like a Hollywood club with the dynamic lighting and haze. The most attractive people come to Marston’s, so you are bound to find something to your liking.

A pleasant surprise! We loved the variety of Moscow Mules. I got the one with Jameson and C got one with tequila. Both were really good. We both ordered sandwiches, and they were great too.(Maybe that was the whiskey talking, but they seemed wonderful at the time.) The service was fast and the bartender was friendly. I know Marston’s is overflowing during late night, but we were there at 7:00 and were thankful for the mellow vibe. Also, whoever picked the sound track is awesome.

We came here 4 times to watch the Copa America. I was so happy they had the game on, I almost cried. I was sooo afraid we were going to have to go back to that God awful Buffalo Wild Wings. These guys have such delicious, scratch made food and a bangin happy hour! The $ 5 food specials are awesome. My favorite is the Frito boat, AKA Pepper Belly, AKA Gut Buster, AKA Frito Pie. They fancy it up with homemade tri-tip chili and brown the cheese on top. Their wings are spectacular! Try the butter garlic. And the nachos: ridiculous. Cheese sauce made from scratch, fresh made chips and u can get them with meat too. This is the kind of food I would make myself if I owned a bar. It wasn’t until our last visit that I realized the menu had a second side. Can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes. Gotta mention the awesome service. Paige is usually our talented bartenders/waitress. We had a work party here with about 40 people and they pulled it off without a hitch! I give them a coveted 5-stars…

The second the bar tenders think your intoxicated they will take full advantage of you. There is no rhyme or reason to what they’ll charge you for drinks. On top of that I bought a round off 3 well tequila $ 6 shots when I only left the bar tender a $ 2 tip for these over priced shots he took it upon himself to alter that to $ 5. Be warned and always keep your receipts.

Was at Farmer’s Market… Watched the lil chubby white guy making the sandwiches set up the night lamp so they could see as it got dark. Busted out the extension cord, drop the plug on the ground, picked it up off the ground and plugged it in. Then, he went back to making sandwiches… WITHTHESAME F#$%INGGLOVESON. Really dude? I could see boxes of gloves all over. Who knows what they do in the kitchen at the restaurant. But… For those of you who eat there @ Farmer’s, enjoy! :)
