Warm and welcoming customer service can be found here. I grabbed my husband a pair of ECCO’S for his birthday and then came back to grab all three kiddo’s UGGS for Christmas and left with a complimentary bottle of UGGS protectant. This store knows how to treat a customer! They gave me 15 days after the holiday to return anything that didn’t fit. Only one pair had to be exchanged and they were more than happy to do so. I’m happy to have found a local store that I feel good spending my money at. In closing, I overheard another couple reciting how pleasant their visit was. It’s most refreshing, especially after my last experience with a local competitor.

Mike, the owner, is the kindest man who will work endlessly to find you what you need. What an awesome place to shop at, with prices that beat pretty much anywhere online. Their selection is great, and they are the definition of a well run family owned business.

I love this shoe store. Every time I come in the staff makes me feel like family. They go out of their way to help you find the perfect shoe and will order one in your size if they don’t have it in stock. It is a wonderful family run business and they really know shoes. I would not go anywhere else! They have a great selection too!

This Christmas I sent my husband on a mission to find me pink UGGS. I had a pair many moons ago that sadly got a huge black grease stain on them and couldn’t be salvaged. My sweet hubs went all over looking for a replacement with no luck. He finally made it over to Mike’s shoes and found those pretty pink UGGS-​only they had a big pink satin bow laced up the back. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the look, but it just wasn’t practical for my needs. I decided to return them and get something different. A few days after Christmas I looked at the receipt which stated they would give store credit or exchange up to 15 days after purchase. Uh, oh! We were out of that time frame, but my hubs went in today to see what could be done and voila! Full refund. Clearly, they could have given him nothing-​or store credit but they did the right thing. As a result, we will be back next time we’re in the need! Glad to know there are still awesome local companies like Mike’s out there!

I’ve always loved the selection of shoes and helpful staff and today was above and beyond.
I had new custom orthotics and Mike (the owner) patiently brought me a gazillion of shoes and advised me on their proper fit.
They’re getting in Fall styles and I’ll be back.

Was just helped by a young guy, didn’t get his name, he was super helpful and patient with me and my wife. I was surprised how much he actually knew about the product, we were looking at some different hiking shoes and it seemed like he wasn’t just reading the features off the box but actually wanted to find the right shoe. Highly recommended!

I love this store! I make a point to visit every time I come to town. I am a teacher, and need comfy shoes, but don’t love clunky. The staff at Mike’s always works so hard to find just the right ones. This time, she even sold me a sandal cleaner instead of a new pair, now that’s customer service!

Mike’s Shoes is a small family owned business with a great selection of fine shoes, expert consultation and customer service. My favorite is the «Sales Rack» with step discount on great top brand name shoes. You won’t always find your size, but when you do you will get a great shoe at the best price around.
You can buy cheaper shoes but not the quality you will find at Mike’s with their good prices and service. If you are a walker, you will find what you need to keep your feet happy for miles of fun.

This review is for men’s shoes. Small store with very good service and selection. They stock high-​end brands like Merrell, Ecco and Patagonia. For the record, none of them were on sale when I went, but I bought some shoes anyway! If you want cheaper shoes you can walk 30 seconds to Payless Shoes next door. Mike’s also carries lots of orthotic accessories for those who need them.

Small shoe store that focuses on selling more comfortable and high end shoe brands like Sofft, Born, UGG etc.
Customer service was great and they have a pretty big selection for such a small store. The sale section is always worth checking out!

I have a lifelong aversion to shoe stores and shoe salespeople, but we dropped into Mike’s Shoes (first time in 13 years in SLO) to look for some boots for my wife, and we were pleasantly surprised at the great selection and reasonable prices. The saleswoman was very helpful, and not pushy at all. Mike’s Shoes is conveniently located next to Payless Shoes, so you can check out your bargain-​basement shoe options before heading over to Mike’s.

My podiatrist highly recommends Mike’s for Merrell shoes. I’ve been going there to purchase them for the past three years. The shoes are pricey but my feet have improved so much since wearing them.
Generally I find the sales peope very pleasant to deal with but when I went in there this past Friday I was very disappointed. My mom and I felt like we were being watched over like we were going to steal something. I ended up buying a pair of Merrells but she said forget it after the way we were being treated and I can guarantee you that she would’ve bought a couple of pairs if she didn’t feel like she was being treated like a thief. The older woman who was working there was also talking very loudly on a personal phone call right into my ear as I was checkinng out. Very tacky. I think in the future I will take my business to Santa Barbara or the internet. Very sad considering I like supporting local businesses.

It is rare to find a store with an owner who is so knowledgeable about his product. We travel to SLO once or twice a year and always make it a point to visit Mike’s. I get Ecco shoes, usually on sale, and always find a great deal. We’ve heard people come in with all sorts of problems, and Mike always knows the ins and outs of which shoe will work for which situation. I can’t say enough about what a great shoe store this is, if you’re looking for quality shoes.
