Zephyr Ventilation Showroom

…purchased a Zephyr hood, stopped working in less than 4 months! Service is a joke… I was called by Harris & Martin (the dealer in Marin) and was told that a rep from Zephyr will call me in a day or two… I am without an exhaust hood going on day 5! And service from Zephyr in Alameda? In my opinion, it is very poor! When I asked the service rep to transfer me to a supervisor, he sounded like he was going to cry and said he would get in trouble if the call was transferred! I could not believe my ears. The next day… remember, I am going on day 5 with no exhaust hood, and Harris & Martin calls me to say that someone from Zehpyr will contact me… STILL WAITING — DON’T BUY A ZEPHYR… in my opinion, you’ve been warned. (All the slick looking items are nice… that is, until they stop working and you need service!)

Our organization, Urban Services YMCA of San Francisco, has hosted our annual fundraisers and events at the Zephyr Showroom for the past few years. The space is perfect and beautifully set up. It is modern and unique. Zephyr Showroom has been our go to venue. Staff and Management have always been super attentive, flexible, and generous! We love Zephyr!

Loved the showroom and the one on one attention of Brian. This was alot of fun and very informative. Highly recommend a visit if you’re interested in cool hoods/​kitchens and /​or cool design.

I have never written a review before, but was moved to do so by the helpful service that I received this afternoon at the Zephyr showroom. I am doing a kitchen remodel, and have been looking at hoods. I had tenatively choosen a vent-​a-​hood, which is quite costly. My kitchen designer said that she thought that I could get the performance that I wanted out of a Zephyr, at a fraction of the cost. I did a lot of research, and went to 3 appliances stores, and still could not get an answer that made sense. So, I made an appointment to go to Zephry. Kerry, who was willing to accomodate my schedule despite a demonstration going on in the store, was incredibly helpful. She explained the attributes of each model, and helped me choose one that fit my needs — and was not even the most expensive model that she showed me. I was extremely pleased with my experience, and look forward to the installation of my Zephyr hood.

My wife and I were in the midst of a kitchen renovation and needed to purchase a range hood. After looking into the brand with two hyphens in its name and not being convinced, an interior designer suggested that we looked into Zephyr. She said her clients were all very happy with this brand.
We then realized that Zephyr has a huge showroom in San Francisco. How convenient! Wife and I got in the car and off we went to the Mission, where the showroom was located. At the front desk was Kerry, who took us on a tour, explaining each product line in detail. She was very knowledgeable with the products and was able to answer all the questions that we threw at her.
Best part of this showroom is that it is not there to sell you a product right there and then. So it is not staffed with salespeople who would pressure you into buying anything. Kerry told us we could go to any dealer when we are ready to order.
It would be nice if basic info about each model, such as CFM, duct size, dimensions etc, can be listed on the wall. Since there are so many models, it’s easy to forget. It can be done tastefully like how a gallery would show the artist name and the title of the artwork. That’s the missing star.

Some say this is a «trade only» showroom but Charins Appliance on Valencia sent us two regular shoppers over there and the guy let us in and was extremely helpful so we could select a model for our home. He spent a great deal of time with us (at least 45 minutes), no one else was in the showroom. We left very happy and purchased their Savona model which we love.
I haven’t been to any other range hood showrooms, so, I don’t actually know if this place is «as good as it gets», therefore I can’t honestly rate it 5 stars, but if 5 stars meant «this place is super», 5 stars it would be.

The other reviewer’s comments are indeed on point… BUT
This is the «for the trade only» show-​room for the high-​end Zephr range hoods. It is not meant for retail customers. The one and only staff person – a very nice young woman – will give you a tour if you ring and talk nice to her. This is important cause virtually none of the dealers have these hoods installed and you really need to see them and listen to the sones they produce at various speeds before you plunk down $ 1000.
BTW the space is huge and amazing. They rent it out for parties and events and it is like MOMA with kitchens.
Finally: don’t go there expecting to purchase. Go to the dealers, identify what you’re interested in and if it’s a Zephyr, go ring their doorbell on Alameda street, talk nice to the young woman and wander around a little, pushing some buttons.

Disappointed… This manufacturer lost a potential customer.
Shopping for a new vent hood for the kitchen. Thought I’d take a look at the company’s offerings.
On their website, there is a page that has info of their showroom with address and hours. So I hopped in the car and drove down there.
Walk up to the front door and there was a sign indicating that the showroom was by appointment with a number to call to schedule.
WTF? I wanted to walk in and scream at them for wasting my time. However, I refrained and decided to put that energy into writing this review instead.
If this place is not allowing unrestricted access to their showroom, they should not be posting hours. They should make a notation that it is by appointment only.
