The food is fine. Worse service attitude and also not really patient to costumer who came there in the first time. The female owner didn’t clearly explain how to order. During I was eating, the chief came from kitchen and played his cell phone in super annoying loud voice behind me! I will personally not go there in second time if it’s avoidable.

I came here after searching Unilocal and was pleasantly surprised with the selection. I chose the orange chicken which was very flavorful, I also picked some fried rice and chow mein, both were also pretty good. So after I leave about 1 hour later, my mouth dries up, my tongue feels funny and im hellla thirsty, which in my mind reminds me of MSG. I drank 3 bottles of water and the rest of the night my mouth felt funky. I don’t understand why is it, that Chinese restaurants still use this additive so freekin much?

This is a nice hole in the wall surprise which I feel is better than Panda Express.. The set up has a small section of take out trays and price seems reasonable and the lady stuffs the takeout boxes well. I really love the chow pork chow fun and the standout orange chicken which I think is one of their popular dishes. I have been back twice already and plan to return again. m to try the other items! Great place to stop by if you are in a hurry or you can chose to eat in. :-)

Everyone that says this place is pricey must not be from San Francisco! They have a lot of turn over and the food is almost always freshly made. It taste good and is really fast. The people working here are really nice unless you are a rude ass to them, which I have seen people be and cannot imagine why they would talk down to someone serving them(please take note for those who rate this place poorly because of the attitude of the person up front).

Good cheap Chinese food. Not bad for the price at all.

They have an all you can eat lunch buffet for $ 8.50(Haven’t yet had the buffet) The food is constantly brought out fresh and the woman at the counter is always friendly! I love the chow fun that is an option with the combo plate(or rice or chow mien) For less than $ 10 I get enough lunch for two meals! I’ve had the popular lunch buffet and it’s a great value! ENJOY!

I’ve been going here for a while getting lunch for my office. The food is good– we all enjoy it; however, the reason why we won’t be returning is due to whatever lady worked up front on the afternoon of January 30th, 2015. She was a whole new kind of rude. I almost walked out.

This place is basically Panda Express. The staff are genuinely nice though. Neighborhood feel.

I have seriously been looking for a good cheap Chinese restaurant for weeks since moving to SF! I got the fried rice, lo mein, fish, dumplings and egg rolls. I plan on going to try out their buffet this week as I have been DYING for a buffet and I already know I like their food. All of the above I listed I got for just over $ 7 to go and it was more than enough. So happy.

Wish it was fresh all the time. That’s pretty much my only complaint. It’s hit or miss depending on how long the food has been sitting under the heat lamps. The orange chicken & s/s pork can get pretty tough if it’s been there awhile. It’s cheap. It’s good. It’ll fill you up. Depending on staff, they will FILL up the combo boxes. The buffet is great when you want a little more variety then the combo gives and one of the only ones in SF apparently(what a disappointment for us when we moved here :() GETTHETAKEAWAYCOMBO it’s cheaper than individual stuff if you’re looking to get take away. The honey shrimp is my fave!

I love their fried rice! I’m not a really big fan of vege so I have to order in the kitchen. I usually get the chicken and shrimp fried rice. Their wontons are good too but no one seems to have time to sit in and order there.

Having moved from NYC, I can’t tell you have stoked I was to come across this little gem. Now having lived in NYC, I can say with some level of certainty that my stomach is lined with lead. The prices are low, and the food is great. I live around the corner from this place and it’s all I can do to not get a pint of orange chicken every time I walk past that place. Can’t make up your mind between two entrees? Ask the ladies to put half/half in a container and they totally will! It’s some of the best chinese food you’ll get at this price point outside of Chinatown. Though I usually wear sunglasses and a hat when I go, I can’t risk having my friends see me come out of there.

Eight dollars and fifty cents for a ginormous plate of fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and what could only be described as an entire baby pig. They do NOT skimp on portions, nor flavor. This is my new, local hotness.

Decent Chinese fast food choice when you are on the run. The food was decent, nothing impressive, taste like any other take-out joint. The tables are kinda greasy and sticky, just like most chinese restaurants. The prices are higher than the average, but it is located in the middle of SF, so adjusted for high rent prices. Parking was a nightmare, no bathrooms.

Mega-value play… Great food at a very fantastic price. I apologize to all my regulars-friends that love the low-prices for great food, but I love my folks at the restaurant more! The Orange Chicken is outstanding, with a fantastic crisp crust under perfect sauce even after running it home several blocks. VegiChow Mein fantastic, and their Fried rice puts a certain Noe Valley E-restaurant to shame. Again, I hope all of my faithfull followers don’t discover(as I have that around dinner time the food is coming out of the kitchen barely fast enough to keep up with demand(all those haters that reviewed complaining about the heat lamps should go 4:30−7 ish. How late are they open again? Welcome to one of my favorites!

Good spot to grab something fast and cheap. They have a hot bar that you can pick and choose from, including all the Chinese-American staples.

I came here on a whim as I was trying to look for something fast and cheap. Not the best choice if you want to go healthy but it did hit the spot. I didn’t do a sit down but got food to-go. I LOVE their salt and pepper fish. It’s the only thing I’ve tried there and probably the only thing I’ll have. It’s my favorite. Cheap and ready to go. Love.

Do you like Panda Express? Do you like Chinese fried chicken drumsticks? For $ 8 you get all-you-can-eat quality Chinese food. No, this isn’t the best, but it is pretty solid. Easily compares to the party trays from any place in Chinatown. When an item runs low they have the kitchen whip up a fresh batch, just like Panda. If they had the seasoned drummettes like Chinatown I would be in heaven. Bad part is that sometimes you get some less than pleasant smelling customers.

It’s cheap and the quality is pretty low. Chinese food that sits under heat lamps all day but is pretty consistent and solid. We only eat here if we are desperate and in need of really crappy Chinese food. They have everything that’s pretty standard in terms of Chinese food. My main gripe about this place is none of the food has labels on it so you have no idea what you are ordering. When you ask, I’m not really sure the woman behind the counter understands what I’m saying. They take card! It’s fast and ready to eat. Don’t go in with extremely high hopes. What you see from the window is basically what you are expecting. Closes early around 9PM so if you are drunk and looking for greasy Chinese food, you’ll be out of luck.

For the Mom-n’-Pop Panda Express genre, Cathay Express probably does it the best. It isn’t frontin’ to be a gourmet Chinese place, but if you’re looking for heaping piles of breaded tangy meat, come on over. I got the two-item combo, which comes with two huge scoops of fried rice and a matching two scoops of chow mein. Orange chicken was excellent even hours later without the caked rancid oil that usually comes with cheap Chinese sitting around. You definitely get your money’s worth and more. My friend got an order of potstickers and was given two extra just… because. One was gimped and spilling its tasty innards, but hey. I usually grumble about there not being good cheap food in the Castro, so yay for finding a place to fatten up. Huge sitting area too with hot tea and water. Clearly a family restaurant since we saw the daughter stop by after school. Soft place in my heart for Asian family-businesses, so a tad biased.
