This is my all time favorite store for women’s apparel. I have bought some classic pieces from WHBM that have stood the test of time both in style and wear. Most of their clothes are in neutral colors(black, cream, white) although the last few years they have ventured into other fun, bright accent colors. I have also bought some unique pieces of jewelry that garner quite a few compliments. I recently went to the Horton Plaza location to spend a gift certificate given to me by the hubby. The store associates were so friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They were on point with taking my selections to the fitting room so I wouldn’t have to lug them around the store. When I went to the back to try them on, the sales associate had added a few items including jewelry she thought would compliment my selection. I thought that was a very nice touch. I have the WHBM reward card(Platinum status!!) so I received 5% off my purchases. In addition, they also gave me a 10% military discount and $ 25 off my $ 125 purchase. Don’t forget to check out their Sale/Clearance merchandise in the back. I have found incredible deals back there on boutique quality slacks, layering tops, dresses and suit jackets.

I am not a black and white kind of girl, I would say all the opposite, but from time to time I like to get some classic piece that always looks good. Plus for a while now they have expanded the hues from the cremes and jet blacks, to all shades of grays and polar whites to some blues and lavender and other color splashes here and there. I went to check the newest spring collection and saw a lot of Chanel look alike outfits, and loved it. For the faux pearls wearers, this is your kind of store where you can get the professional outfits required in many work places. I am glad that I don’t have to follow a strict dressing code but I am also glad that I have the chance to make me look classier just by getting some pieces from here and combining them in elegant ways. No cheap, but not very expensive too. I would say is very good for the quality you get.

There comes a point in a girl’s life when she needs to realize there is more to getting dressed than H&M, thrift stores, and the sad San Ysidro outlets. I’d wandered into WHBM before, but never really gave it a real look. Today I went in, looking for something specific for work, and a sales person helped me right away. She started grabbing things off different displays and putting together tons of outfits. It’s pretty cool because everything in the store was pretty much black, white or brown and it was almost all interchangable — each top went with each bottom – sort of like that. It was kind of awesome. There aren’t a lot of colors or patterns. Into the changing room I went, and she checked on me every few minutes, brought MORE outfits, and even gave me a cup of water because trying on cute duds can make you thirsty. All in all, it was a great experience and I’m happy to add this store into my rotation!

White House Black Market features chic black and white(and some red) apparel, swanky footwear, and eye popping accessories for the sophisticated(or perhaps a die-hard fan of The White Stripes). Came here window-shopping for new office attire; I left empty-handed after 10 – 15 minutes of casual browsing. The overall experience was positive. Good customer service(sales clerks are nice and attentive without being clingy). Made note of the clearance section in the back room. I agree with my fellow Unilocalers with regard to White House Black Market being on the pricey end. That said, however, the store offers some high quality, classic products. My sister is a cosmetologist and adheres to a strict black/white dress code. Next time I wander in here perhaps I’ll find some cute work clothes for her.

I like the concept and most of the time even the clothing. It’s a little on the pricier end, but you can get some great deals from the sales rack.

Retailers in general are easy to rate, either they’re helpful or not. I really like White House Black Market. I don’t always find something when I go, but every now and then I find a gem. This experience was just that. I went there looking for a dress and when one of the sales girls found out I was shopping for a dress for Vegas she brought me one in particular right away. She told me to trust her and try it on. It was perfect! So I am giving the store a perfect review since she was so helpful and it’s usually a 50⁄50 chance someone is truly helpful at a clothing store.

I don’t usually shop here, but with the Christmas sales and the mood to shop, I found myself this really nice dress for almost $ 200 off! The mother in law recently bought a leather jacket here, which to me, makes here look REALLY old, but she loves it so whatever. I probably won’t ever come back here though, as it’s not really my style.

Some beautitul clothes, but sometimes a little overpriced. Nice that they opened a location in Horton Plaza.

This is my favorite clothing store and I was psyched when the Horton Plaza location opened so I didn’t have to hike up to La Jolla! Also, I think this store is bigger than the La Jolla location. There are usually great sales in the back, and if you join their free membership program, you get a 5% discount on every purchase. Plus, they send you offers via mail and email(i.e. $ 25 off purchase of $ 125 or more, etc). Recently I spent a certain amount there, and they gave me a card for future $ 50 off of $ 100 purchase. The people working there are always friendly and helpful too. Some people tell me that I need to start wearing more colors, but I think you can never have too many little black dresses!(And they really are creative with the styles and even the color combinations of black, white, off-white, gray). The store also carries blue jeans, jewelry, and shoes.
