Uyen Design

I went to Uyen last week to get my first eyelash extensions. She was patient, kind, and answered my questions. She even threw in some extra lashes because it was my birthday weekend.
It took about an hour to get them done. Uyen was meticulous and careful. She also allowed me to take some breaks to move around.
It has been almost a week and the lashes still look great.
I look forward to getting a refill.

First of all, THANK YOU UYEN!!! I had gotten my hair colored and cut on Tuesday at a different salon and while the color came out amazing, the haircut on the other hand was TRAGIC! I really tried to work with it but the gaps in the layers were awful, and I’m embarrassed to say how much I paid for everything. In any event, I met an angel in the form of Uyen. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and she did it EXACTLY like the picture. I am beyond please, she really did a FANTASTIC job. So again, thank you Uyen. Now I must go SLAY!

I found Uyen a few years ago on Unilocal and I have not been to anyone else. I will explain to her how I want my hair and she will explain to me the pro’s and con’s and my hair always ends up amazing! I don’t trust anyone else with my hair but her. I moved 40 minutes away but will make the drive down to get my hair done. She really knows what she’s doing!

Uyen does great work! She and her assistant did my wedding makeup, 5 bridesmaids and my mother. I also had her come back to do touch-​ups before the reception with a new hairstyle. She really listens to what you want and makes it happen!

Great men’s haircut! My out-​of-​control hair was trimmed into something manageable and professional. I’ve been getting compliments from men and women alike over the past two days.

After writing my review I was contacted by Uyen and offered a full free relash to make up for the initial visit in addition to honor my touch up as that was part of the offer I originally purchased. I was able to schedule that same day and she went above and beyond by applying a generous number of lashes that truly made an impact on my eyes.
Although it is too soon to tell if these will last, I did notice the glue used was different then the one used during my first visit. I am also changing my rating from 1 star (because I said before she is nice) to 5 stars for customer acknowledgment, taking responsibility, handling the situation gracefully, and for a beautiful lash application.

I had my makeup and hair done by Uyen for a friend’s wedding and I absolutely loved my look! I got so many compliments from everyone and the photos came out really great! Thank you Uyen so much. More importantly, Uyen is sweet, talented, and her price is very reasonable. Next time I need to glam up for an event, I will definitely come back here! Don’t think twice about booking! Highly recommended! :)

I met Uyen a few months back when I was looking for a florist for my wedding in July 2015
Luckily for me, Uyen is a talented lady who does it all: hair, makeup, flowers, and she knows how to braid hair extremely well!
With Uyen’s suggestions, I highlighted my hair so that my braids and curls would be more prominent in my engagement and wedding photos. I was so pleased with the results, and got so many compliments. I will never trust anyone else with my highlights again!
We also played with many hair styles/​updos in the few upcoming months before the wedding
because I couldn’t decide on the style I wanted, even until the day of the wedding. Uyen was very patient, had a lot of great suggestions.
Uyen did such a splendid job on my wedding makeup and hair, it was the exact degree of elegance and sophiscation that I was hoping for.
My skin and makeup was flawless and lasted all night long: through all the crying, all the kisses & hugs and all the dancing.
I felt like such a gorgeous bride, and truly had the best day of my life!

Uyen did my hair and makeup for a bridal style photoshoot I was doing for a designer. She did a beautiful job! I especially loved how she styled my hair and shaped my eyebrows! Thank You Uyen I would definitely come to you again

I’ve been looking for a new hair salon as the one I usually go to is annoyingly inconsistent. I turned to Unilocal for some help and after comparing a few salons, decided to go to Uyen at Salon Sol!
I showed her a picture of what I wanted, asked her for an opinion on whether or not she thought I could pull it off, and let her do her thing. During the cut, I gave her some artistic freedom, considering she probably knows more than I do (; HAHA, and I didn’t regret it! She considered what I wanted and turned it into something cuter! She made sure that I was satisfied with my haircut and didn’t rush the process (which is awesome because I have A LOT of hair).
As someone who is incredibly hesitant about getting my hair cut (I’ve had the same hairstyle for a while), I found that my risk paid off. Woot!

Uyen is just simply the best all around! From makeup, hairstyling, and haircuts, I’ve had her services several times already now.
The first time was when I was attending a wedding, knowing me, I am hopeless with hair and makeup, so a friend of mine recommended Uyen. She used airbrush makeup.
The second time, I had a haircut. Her price included shampooing also! She did a great job and did exactly what I wanted, also not cutting an extra inch or two or leaving my hair lopsided.
This last time, I was part of a bridal party. Uyen did a fabulous job on our hair and makeup, which we had many complements on. She was professional and on time.
She went above and beyond what I expected of her every time! There is no one else I would trust or go to for my beauty needs.

I’m super picky about my hair, and I’ve been looking for a new salon since I moved to San Diego. I’m thrilled with the haircut I got from Uyen! I called Salon Sol this afternoon and Uyen was first available. My pixie cut was growing out and definitely needed a trim, and Uyen was very sweet and accommodating! We ended up taking a little over an inch all over, and a bit more in the back.
Uyen was kind enough to give me some restaurant suggestions since I’m new to the area, and even gave me a discount for being a new client. Needless to say, I’ll be back. She’s lovely and can definitely give you a great haircut. Thanks, Uyen!

Got my eyelashes done for Halloween and filled just in time for my birthday! She uses the best stuff ever! I’ve done lashes at other places and can’t stop tearing from the fumes from the eyelash glue. Uyen uses a special glue that won’t release those harmful fumes :) my lashes look super dramatic and plush ²⁴⁄₇

I love going here to get my eyelashes done! Uyen is super sweet and fun to talk to while she was is doing my lashes. My lashes last forever between fills and the fumes dont burn my eyes! I get complimented on my lashes all the time and no one can tell theyre extensions! I highly recommend going here if you want dreamy dramatic eyes

I called Uyen for a hairstyle a few days before a special event and she fit me into her busy schedule. I had some pictures online of the look i was going for. Not only did she replicate that look, she made it look even better! Did i mention that she not only does hair, she does nails, makeup and even flowers for your wedding. She’s a one-​stop shop, haha!

Uyen is an amazing hairstylist! She took me in on short notice and really listened to what I wanted. My hair was almost at my waist and I felt like I needed a change but I get really anxious about cutting my hair. I’m glad I found Uyen because she made the process so relaxing and nice. She was easy to talk to and took lots of photos of the process as I requested no matter how bothersome. I’d definitely go to her again for another cut or color!

Boy, am I glad to say I found Uyen. Let me explain why.
My hair is very thick, and many hairdressers are not used to a head of hair that is equivalent to 3 people! That is why a lot of the time, the outcome of my hair doesn’t often turn out to be the way I want it to be. However, seeing Uyen was a complete surprise. The moment I showed her my picture, she knew exactly what she was going to do. She breezed through the entire process like a pro, making sure that every strand of hair was even from the sides to the back. She even apologized for being a perfectionist, but I thanked her because ANYONE can appreciate a hairdresser who takes the time to do a thorough job. Now that Uyen has worked her magic on me, my hair so SO much more manageable and I feel so much more confident about my hair. I’m very happy to say that I’ve found my new hairdresser. Thank you so much Uyen!!!

Uyen did my wedding hair. It looked really quite perfect that day and turned out even better than what we had tried earlier during the trials. Uyen really has a knack for creating pretty hairstyles and I got many compliments about my hair that day. She’s also very nice & easy to talk to.
I found Uyen through my florist & day-​of coordinator Anna (Classic Blooms Studio). I had a hair & makeup trial prior to the wedding with Uyen. The first time she did the hair during the trial, the back was great but the front/​bangs were too flat. She offered to redo it, however after the long hair & makeup session I was ready to go home, so I called it a day. A while later, I asked Uyen if we could try again because I was a bit worried we didn’t have a concrete look hammered out, she was super nice about it and redid the front (no extra charge and she even fed me dinner! She’s a really good cook). The results were satisfactory and would have been good enough for the wedding day. However, for the actual wedding day, she did something different and it was absolutely amazing! It was just the look I had hoped for, soft, romantic and absolutely stunning.
Uyen also did my mom’s hair & one of my bridesmaid’s hair. Both hairstyles turned out really beautifully; they were both very different looks, so she’s definitely versatile. She’s very responsive to comments. The first hair style she made for my mom was too high for my mom’s tastes, so Uyen promptly fixed it and the results were terrific.
I highly recommend Uyen for your hair-​do needs. She’s got the skills and just as important, she’s very responsive to your input and will definitely help you achieve your ideal look.
