No smoking signs are now on display on so you are not attacked by stinky smokers at entry. Twiggs is still kind of dirty. Coffee is good but the quiche is hit and miss. The mushroom quiche had almost no mushrooms and was soggy. Sandwiches should be avoided. Toasted bagels with eggs is a good choice.

You just lost a customer asshole after totally ignoring me standing in line and serving another person even though I was waiting for several minutes

Love coming to this place during the day and evenings. Primary reason: to study Pros: — relaxed environment — not crowded at all — an ideal place to concentrate — great uninterrupted wifi connection Cons: — a little tough to find a place to sit Helpful tip: the bookworms here are willing to share a table if you ask politely. Just do not disturb.

I been here a few times. Usually I stop here if Lestat’s is too busy and don’t want to deal with that many people. I usually get a chai latte and is just average. There is plenty of seating area but the furniture is getting pretty old. One of the chairs was missing a cushion. Overall the place is ok, they have some baked goods and decent coffee.

Good cappuccino. Cute atmosphere. Music not so great. Smelled like bitter, pungent poo most of the time. Maybe a combo of burnt coffee and the boxer dog wearing a diaper just outside? Not sure, but it lasted for hours… Upholstered furniture looks sketchy. Chairs medium comfy. Table could be set up in more feng shui manner(?) — feels like sitting on top of other parties combined with dining at a Perkins. Nice people working there, though.

Twiggs is on the Lestats path of building two spots in the same area. Park and Adams. This Twiggs seems physically bigger(although I could be wrong) then the Adams location. I am stoked I can now get their chocolate croissants anytime I please at a stones throw away. The place here has pretty ourdated furniture, some of the chairs are sorta worn out, but its a chill spot to grab a coffee and people watch off UH. I think the staff here is used to its regulars and perhaps in time I won’t get the«never seen you before» look and will get a handy greeting. I’m sorta the same way when I meet new peeps so I am not gonna knock the place any. Definite coffee option for the UH community.

Ah, this place brings back the bittersweet memories of when I used to study for nursing school… This is a great coffeehouse to study because it is quiet & after a long day of studying, you can reward yourself to one of their tasty treats. The lighting is dim, however, so it may be a little difficult to concentrate on your work.

My new coffee spot since moving to the neighborhood. The lovely ladies I usually see(Cassidy & ???) are nothing short of kind and plain adorable. They brighten my mornings! Everyone who works there is very friendly. Coffee is great, pastries are beautiful and delicious.

I am always on the lookout for good coffeeshops to work/study at and Twiggs has been good to me so far. Here are some of the highlights: 1) The prices — Twiggs probably has the best prices of any coffeeshop I have been to. A large iced tea is $ 2.10 and a small is $ 1.85. I usually get the passionfruit iced tea which is good. I recommend putting some liquid sugar in it but for the price you can’t really beat it. 2) The rice krispie treats. Since going to Twiggs on a regular basis, I have consumed 6 rice krispie treats in a week and a half… I may have a problem. 3) The ambiance — even though Twiggs is a bit more run down than some other coffeeshops, the lighting is usually pretty dim and it has a cozier feel to it. I like their sort of old, vintage-ish lamps! 4) Noise level — I find that Twiggs attracts people of all ages and most people are usually working, playing games and being quiet. Since I often have the attention span of a squirrel, finding a coffeeshop that is quiet is good for me. 5) The staff are always friendly. Also, they stay open until 11 so it is good if you need to do work later at night.

Love to come in for an espresso drink! I definitely recommend their specialties! If you have a sweet tooth I recommend their cakes :) can’t go wrong with their red velvet or carrot cake! If you like their savory, their egg and cheese on a biscuit is pretty good! Service is great and you’ll leave with a smile :)

I live in the neighborhood and have the good fortune of being walking distance to several cafes. Twiggs is easily my favorite for the following reasons: 1. Most satisfying funky, homey, independent atmosphere with the best windows of any of the cafes(with appropriate worn chairs, sofa, etc.) 2. Solid coffee and tea served by friendly staff who have been there a long time(good management), and the best chai you can get in the neighborhood(unfortunately not a high bar) 3. Best baked goods(can’t even get croissants at Lestats or Mystic Mocha) 4. Hassle free internet access 5. More age diverse than student-centric Lestats, with a friendly group of regulars Look, cafes preferences are very personal, so if you’re new to the area, try a few out, but make sure Twiggs is on your short list. Cheers!

I love love love this place! The fact that it’s open before I have to be in to work and on the way is a plus. The ambiance is of a classic coffeehouse– tables and chairs, some comfy oversize armchairs, a bookshelf inviting you to grab a good read and stay for awhile. Since I usually stop in in the am there are always a few regulars sitting quietly enjoying their morning coffee the kinda feeling that tells you people like it here. I have been in about 6 times and every time Brandon has been here. What a nice guy :) he always has a smile ready, remembers what I order –after I settled into getting the same thing– and makes a great cup of coffee. One other thing I really love about them is the hot biscuit with cheese and egg plus Or minus meat. The biscuit is huge and flaky like it was made in your grandmas kitchen. Def a great spot to grab a coffee and a snack!

I love the neighborhood vibe. Feels a little like Central Perk from FRIENDS, but just a bit more worn/run down looking. Plenty of tables and chairs… And free wifi! I LOVE pastries. Desserts are my weakness. So it was a bit disappointing that there were SEVERAL flies swarming around inside the display of baked goods. Most of the cookies and pastries were individually wrapped in plastic wrap(I still wouldn’t get anything), but the bagels were open and exposed. I ordered an iced chai tea latte… I ended up tossing it after a few sips… Just wasn’t feeling it… I guess i was expecting a sweeter taste with a little more richness? I should’ve specified VANILLA chai… It tasted like some random brewed tea with milk… Meh… Hubby also ordered a drink, and his reaction seemed a bit neutral too. I noticed that he didn’t finish his drink either… I love granola, so decided to try the granola bar type thing they had on the counter… Just a few Natural ingredients, the binder seemed to be the raisin. it was a bit delicate and easily fell apart. The raisin flavor was strong. Also way overpriced. I believe it was $ 2.75 and it was about the size of a Quaker Oats granola bar… You know, the thin one. Street parking.

This is an excellent study spot. There is ample room for working or lounging and outlets abound. Seemingly less crusty than the Twiggs on Adams. Definitely a nice place to relax with friends in a calm environment. My egg and cheddar biscuit was ready pretty fast. The flavors were a bit lacking, but the service was sweet. As in my barista(is that trademarked?) literally called me «honey.» I appreciate the water cooler and the bathroom has always been clean. unfortunately I was not satisfied by the iced chai tea latte — too bitter. I’ll still be back.

One of My fave coffee places in University heights. After my trip in Italy, I’ve been looking around San Diego for croissants and coffee close to what I have tried in Italy. I must say that this place is a pretty decent alternative. I love the Almond croissants and Caramel Cappucino here which I always order. I have tried their ham & egg croissants and they were okay. Also, don’t forget to ask for their loyalty card if you intend to come back for more coffee or croissants. I would have give this place a 5-star, but most of the time I come here I see a fly inside their display cabinet where the pastries are. Minus 1 star for the fly. I still recommend this place for coffee lovers like me and they also have ample tables if you want to enjoy your coffee while reading a book or surfing the internet.

Found this place a while ago. It is one of my favorite café to go! Love their cookies and drinks! Drinks I have tried: *sean’s frozen hot chocolate *london fog *happy camper *smirk *caramel cappuccino *mocha Charlie This place is such a find! My friend and I stumbled here after trying bahn thai’s pad Thai. We were really happy with their service, and helpful guide when the staff found out it was our first time. Do not be shy when you have questions, they will help as best as they can. I will return!

The cooffe and bakery: are real good, local made and taste pure natural. The place: is very comfortable with variety of seat types from regular tables, sofas and meeting tables. Wi-Fi is free and fast with many power plugs in the walls. Good for study, reading, meetings, and socializing. Or in my situation I was drawing and sketching.

This coffee shop is two blocks from my house so it is very convenient to go here. What I really like about this coffee shop is that it is convenient, I like the ambience that is created with the artwork and the table set up and the chairs. I like to go here to work or study. I recently went here and got an almond iced latte. I took one sip of it and I did not like the almond milk inside of it. I probably won’t be going back here to drink the almond milk but I will go back to eat one of the scones or have one of the muffins or have one of their breakfast sandwiches. They are to die for! As far as friendliness of staff, it seems like the staff really know certain people that regularly come into the shop. They said most of the time are very friendly to all of the other customers, but a little more consistency with friendliness is always loved!

Sunday afternoon. In San Diego. And I wanted coffee. My friends suggested this place. There is a little bit of seating outside & a good amount of seating inside. It has an older décor/style/feeling. The place was full, so that was a good sign. My drinks: Vanilla Chai– not too sweet or spicy. Pretty good and popular. Mocha Brandon– it had a few syrup flavors(hazelnut vanilla caramel or something similar). I added an extra shot. It was the perfect amount of coffee flavor & sweetness. The foam was on point. One employee was new in training & wasn’t too helpful with drink selections. But, the drinks are good. It’s a nice little spot. If you want to study or work, go early ;) plus there are lots of other stores nearby…
