If you haven’t been here, you are missing something special. The restaurant is cozy in the best possible sense of that word. It fits with the neighborhood which actually seems to be a real neighborhood with a fine mix of businesses and residences. The service is attentive and professional. I have been here maybe a couple times a year until recently. I took my visiting sister one day and she ordered the stuffed French Toast and I had Polenta. Both dishes were served hot(which is mandatory for me) and we ate every crumb of the well prepared plates. In fact… It was so good we went back the next day, her last day here. She had the French Toast again and I ordered corn meal pancakes. We also had a flight of champagne cocktails. Again, time flew by as we ate, drank, and chatted in this delightful little place. Now a couple of weeks later, I am back again with my wife. Another flight of champagne cocktails – so good!! – and this time I have the stir fried rice bowl and my girl opts for the jumbo shrimp cocktail. No disappointment whatsoever; everything hot and delicious except for the champagne cocktails which were cold and delicious. Try the apple one! Also, I have complained before on Unilocal about breakfast places not having good coffee. Parkhouse has delicious, flavorful coffee. Try this place. I think you will love it.

Wow I have been meaning to come here for years, but because it always looks so busy, I have not. Today, we were walking past just as they were opening and jumped at the chance to grab a bite for dinner. The lovely waitress immediately sat us and let us know that all the appetizers were 30% off until 7pm. So appetizers it is! We got the calamari, beef tips, veggie stack, and meatball & polenta and seriously? Everything was unbelievable! And the portions were huge! And the bread and olive tapenade came out and it was even more nomnastic. Needless to say, I completely blew my diet. Best tapenade evah! So yes, we are seriously going to try this place for breakfast or brunch. And we sat on the patio and had absolutely no problems with flies. So, four stars for atmosphere, food(super fresh ingredients), service(pleasant, knowledgable, efficient), and presentation. No star for price because it was still pretty spendy. But seriously guys — it’s worth the cash. Oh screw it — five stars it is.

Skip the coffee unless you like it black and bitter(no creamer except for half and half). However DO get the hot chocolate-a treat in itself! We ordered the churro pancake with bacon and eggs. Eggs werent the best-runny and not fresh cracked. BUT the pancake was huge and was THE best pancake we’ve EVER had! Crispy on the outside was soft and delicious on the inside. We will be back.

Now THISISPLACEISTHEBOMB!!! No wonder it was rated best place for brunch in San Diego by the A-listers! It’s an old house turned restaurant. You have many different rooms to dine in, including the front porch if you want to bring your furry friends who are more than welcome to come too!!! Had their famous Eggs Benedict which are famous for a reason! And the Texas toast French toast? OMG! Top it off with a caramel latté and that’s it! You’ve died and gone to heaven! Check out the pics! They say it all!!!

I didn’t think I would like this place because I was craving for some eggs Benedict and the ones they had were kinda pricy. I mean maybe I’ll try it next time when I’m not so broke lol but my boyfriend got the chorizo scramble and that was bomb. I got the pumpkin spice pancakes, I know hella basic but I must try. They were ginormous the size of my head, I only finished ¾th of a pancake lol. They were delicious but a little bland. Maybe some fruit on the side or I should have ordered a different type of pancake. All in all, I would come back.

Came here for sunday brunch at 10:30am and there was no line to sit inside but 15 mins later the wait was 30 mins! I guess everyone meets up for brunch at 11! I got the PH Benedict (Two poached eggs, apple-smoked bacon and tomato atop grilled focaccia. Topped with avocado hollandaise served with house mashed potatoes.) I loved the mashed potatoes and the focaccia as a nice touch! We also got Lemon Ricotta Pancakes(Topped with house made blueberry sauce and whipped butter) and it was by far my favorite!!! best lemon ricotta pancakes I have ever had!

Came on Memorial Day Weekend. All other brunch places were at least a 2 hour wait(not surprised), but luckily we called into Parkhouse to find out it was only a 1 hour wait for a party of 8. We were all starving to begin with and was ecstatic to finally have our name called around 1pm. Unfortunately, after our orders were taken, we had to wait for another 45MINUTES for the food to actually come out. I was dying pretty much at this point. They say the hungrier you are, the better the food will taste. This was not the case at all. I got the crab cake benedict with the avocado hollandaise instead of the chili hollandaise. It was nice of them to substitute this for me. The sauce was the most delicious component on the plate, but the crab cake was mushy with no crunchy coating on the outside. It was also pretty tasteless so I’m sure it was mostly fillers. They use focaccia bread instead of English muffin, which was hard and dry. The egg was a tad overcooked. The potatoes were okay, but I’ve had better. Most of my other friends didn’t enjoy their meals either. Even the hot sauce on the table was bland and not spicy. And with the longgg wait, we expected a lot more. Our waiter was nice but didn’t really check up on us. The whole experience was meh.

Had the lobster scramble on special, amazing amount of lobster, really tasty flavor. Peaceful and spacious patio. Dog friendly, they brought a water bowl for our Labrador

Came with a group of old college friends on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend for brunch –surprisingly only had to wait half an hour. I ordered the PH Benedict and was disappointed –it’s not that it had anything that particularly tasted bad, it’s that there was nothing in the breakfast that was impressive to me. The avocado hollandaise was a bit bland, and their special house hot sauce had no kick or flavor to it either. As far as décor and ambiance, it was a bit noisy, run down, and a bit dirty seeming inside. Unfortunate, bc I wanted to like the place!

With San Diego being the home of multiple hot brunch locations, I held my expectations somewhat high for Parkhouse Eatery. On a busy Memorial Day Weekend, we opted to come here over other popular brunch places because the wait was a lot shorter(maybe 15 – 20 minutes). After the short wait, we were seated and ordered the PH Benedict and the Southwest Crab Benedict. PHBENEDICT: Avocado hollandaise that quickly became too creamy for my palate. Two sad pieces of bacon along with mashed potatoes that I should probably have substituted out for the roasted potatoes. If you’re going to order this dish, I would recommend paying extra for the Carnitas/Chicken Sausage/Smoked Salmon. SOUTHWESTCRABBENEDICT: Delicious crab chunks, but the California Chili hollandaise did not have the southwestern kick that I expected and wanted. I actually enjoyed this dish more than the PH Benedict because of the healthy amounts of meat and the southwestern flavor over the creamy avocado. Both dishes were fairly good and were presented gorgeously. However, the flavors on the plates were very underwhelming and left me unsatisfied. I would have to say the highlight of the meal were the roasted potatoes. My experience here probably explains why the wait was so much shorter here in comparison to other popular brunch locations nearby.

Parking: Wasn’t too hard to find parking on a Sunday. Just traverse the side streets and you’ll find one Ambiance: I really like the décor of this place. Gives a nice homey feeling like you’re sitting in a cottage Presentation: Presentation of food was average. Bright colors of my scrambled eggs went well with the green salad. I was spying on other people’s food and saw a mimosa flight. That looked really nice Taste: Taste was very average. I got the 3 scrambled eggs with spicy chorizo and peppers. I did like the chorizo very much. Other that that part of the eggs, everything tasted somewhat bland. I did think that their orange marmalade was amazing though. Sweet citrusy taste. For my greens, they had one of the better salad dressings I’ve tried. Our table did ask for a salsa, to which they gave us their homemade salsa. It tasted like watered down tomatoes and had no heat. They didn’t even have a substitute like tapatio or cholula. Service: Our waiter was extremely polite and helpful. Waters were always filled. Kept coming to check up on us. Politely explained why our food took about 45 min(very large parties before us) Price: Decently priced for a brunch place. I’ve seen a lot of other places charge 5 $ more for this type of quality of food Experience: Not too sure if I would return to this place. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good. Still had a fun time with friends. Nothing on the menu really popped out, except the mimosa flight

Trying to brunch in San Diego on Memorial Day Weekend is insane. We planned to grab lunch for a friend’s birthday, but found that many good locations had more than a 2 hour wait. Thank goodness a homie pulled through and found this place with only an hour. The wait also wasn’t too bad since there’s a cute little coffee shop just down the street from the restaurant to chill. I decided to order their Southwest Crab Benedict(~$ 16) — I usually never order benedicts, but the pictures and recommendations on Unilocal got me. The dish definitely did not disappoint. The original hollandaise sauce is tomato based and very creamy. You can also request for additional sauce on the side. I highly highly recommend trying their avocado hollandaise. I found myself loving this sauce more than the original. I loved it with the side of potatoes. Another thing I liked is that it’s served on focaccia instead of an English muffin. I thought it paired very well with the crab cake. Some of my friends did not enjoy their brunch as much I did so I suggest sticking with the other Unilocaler’s recommendations. However, I still really enjoyed the food. Aside from the long wait for our food, I would love to comeback here someday.

Went here for brunch over the weekend with friends and this place exceeded my expectations! A great spot for a pick me up after a late night of drinking. This place has it all. Great food and amazing drinks. What more can you ask for? Food: — PH Benedict: Perfectly poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce was on point. — Green Chilaquiles: Adding a protein(I chose carnitas) makes the dish even better. The red chili sauce gives a nice heat element. — Pan-Fried Linguini and Egg: The flavors were evenly balanced and well seasoned. A big plus that it wasn’t too oily. Drinks: — Mimosa Flight: Everyone at our table had a mimosa flight and it was definitely worth it! Our favorites were the Applelicious, Blueberry Stand, and Milango. — Tamarindo Michelada: Choice of either Corona or Dos Equis. Great well balanced drink to help cure that hangover. Pros & Cons: — Customer Service: Our server was friendly and attentive. She gave great recommendations and was helpful in answering all of our questions about the menu. She knew her stuff. — Parking around this place can be killer. — And if the parking doesn’t kill you than the wait time might. — Tip: Drop someone off, have them put down their name while you look for parking. — Have patience! It will be worth it in the end. Overall, I would definitely come back. Check this place out if you’re in the area!

House restaurants are the best! Especially with a patio outside. Gives you the cozy feel. Traditional Breakfast of 2 Eggs &2 Apple Smoked Bacon, served with House Mashed Potatoes & Bread & Cie Toast(2) — Basic breakfast but cooked deliciously! Bacon was thick & crispy. I enjoyed the homemade jam for the toast, I think it was peach? The mashed potatoes were so so though, plentiful but dry.

I enjoyed this place. The staff was welcoming and it’s super cute inside, like someone’s old house. Food was good. I had a seafood catch of the day type of platter with halibut and swordfish and ahi. It came with a sauce. I didn’t hear the name of the sauce, but I guess it was some kind of chile sauce because it was hot hot hot! I was glad the server had it on the side for me. My husband got the flat iron steak. We went to see a play across the street and I believe they gave us a small discount for being theater patrons.

My friends came here around 1PM on a Saturday for brunch and the place was slightly packed, but we still managed to get a table pretty quickly outside. There is outside patio seating in front covered by multiple umbrellas as well as some inside seating. Our server was attentive during our stay and never neglected us of any sort. It’s funny because the entrees that my friends and I all individually picked were actually coincidentally the recommendations that the server told us about after we decided. I got the PH Benedict and my friends got the Southwest Crab Benedict and one of the Meat Tres Egg Scrambles. Everything came out in veryyyy big portions, so you could definitely share with 2 people if you both don’t eat a whole lot. I personally thought the PH Benedict was just like any other benedict and nothing crazy special. It was good, but it didn’t blow my mind. My friend’s Crab Benedict was the best one I’ve had though. I’ve had it at multiple brunch spots and this place has good quality crab and the sauce it comes with is really good. It’s a very saucy benedict! I got to try my friend’s Meat Tres Egg Scramble as well. I forgot which one he ordered exactly, but the flavors were great and there was a bunch going on with it, in a good way. Kinda wish I got that instead when I tried it. Overall though, I would say that the food quality of this spot is really good and plentiful in amount. Service is quick and the spot is cute!

Had a very nice breakfast here one Sunday morning with a couple of friends. We ordered a flight of mimosas, two crab cake eggs benedict, and chilaquiles. Their mimosas are fruity and delicious, crab cake is moist and thick topped off with their sun dried tomato sauce was flavorful and their chilaquiles was ok. Good place for some breakfast but the wait can be quite long. We waited for about 30 – 40 minutes. Place is very homey but quite small. Reminds me of olive garden when you walk in.

I totally get what the hype is about. It all started with my first sip of coffee. I knew the 30 minutes we had just waited, even after being quoted 15, was well worth it. It only got better from there, you guys. My buddy ordered a bloody mary and even that has changed my views on all vodka and tomato beverages. I now refer to myself as a BM snob. As if I had just tasted the best one and can determine whether others could ever compare. The menu was… interesting. A bit on the pricey end when you’re looking for brunch. Still worth the pretty penny. After looking it over, I finally decided on the Green Chilaquiles. What I liked was the option on how I liked my eggs cooked. Most automatically come with scrambled eggs. Of course I still ordered them scrambled. Haha. All this fuss and I don’t even care. The tortillas were the perfect combination of crispy and soft. The salsa was flavorful and the eggs were fluffy and covered with a generous amount of cotija cheese. I topped off the meal with some more coffee and a happy happy belly.
