Located inside Marroitt Courtyard, limited selections and agonizingly slow service. Waitress brought our water, told us the soup of the day and the menu items that were not available and then left and did not return. My wife complained to the bartender and he took our order. Outdoor seating is available, inside is like eating in a coctail lounge/bar. This place should not be called a restaurant; it is a bar with menu service. Food was good and served in sufficient quantity.

Stayed at this hotel for five nights. Only ate breakfast here once. I had the breakfast burrito. It was edible, but pretty heavy and stodgy. The food was relatively cheap on the menu, but it is all fatty, greasy food, typically American stuff, not very healthy. To top things off the server buzzed around my table like an annoying fly. I made it clear that I had jet lag and wanted some peace, but she wouldn’t leave me alone. As I said, I only ate here once.

Reviewing for breakfast only: Three cheers for this little restaurant in the Courtyard Liberty Station! As far as I know, this is the only spot in Point Loma where you can get a DAILY buffet breakfast. Now, the options are limited, but it still includes a waffle station, omelette(however the hell you spell it) chef, and the standard eggs, sausage, cereals, fruits, etc. At $ 13 flat(no extra charges for drinks), this buffet option is a STEAL considering the hefty buffet brunch price tags in Point Loma. Another benefit is the beautiful outdoor seating area with views of the waterfront on the esplanade(yeah you know I nailed THAT spelling). The brunch scene in this area is huge, and Fig Tree is still the breakfast champ, but you cannot go wrong with this breakfast, especially for the price.

This is not a full-service hotel so I passionately shook my head from side-to-side and mouthed, «Noooooo…» over the head of an employee telling Mr. Picky that we should try it. Mr. Picky dragged me kicking and screaming, but it actuallyn turned out to be a nice surprise. The kitchen does their wedding reception catering, but as I hadn’t been to the reception yet there was no way of knowing if it’d be good or bad. We grazed through the meal, ordering«this and that». And we saw food being walked to the bar where quite a few people were ordering things. That first night we had a very nice water, James. We started with the«Tequila Shrimp Scampi» appetizer. It was a little weird having mashed potatoes with an appetizer, the dish qualified for«yummy» and had three massively beautiful shrimp. The gravy had lots of chopped garlic and we asked for a spoon so we wouldn’t waste a morsel of it. Definitely a winner!!! We then moved on to trying the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, but were not fans of having bacon in the stuffing. Another winner was the Chicken Wings appetizer … They serve three kinds of wings dressed with sauces … I didn’t much care about the Traditional style, but the Spicy Thai and the BBQ were absolutely fantastic, finger-licking good. And we both even liked the coleslaw served with that dish. Next we shared the Divers Scallops entrée(substituted homemade chips for the risotto). Shaved Parmesan on the ultra thin chips, very delicate and we enjoyed the light crunch when biting into them. And, as one who is not a great ketchup fan, I loved the ketchup they served … No clue the brand but it was perfect in the balance of sweet and sour bite. But overall we were not in love with this dish. Favorite bite of the night? Tequila Shrimp hands-down!!! We then decided to share a dessert, so ordered the chocolate lava cake and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side. Disappointing, and it didn’t have a lot of «lava», so next time I’d pass in favor of the house bread pudding I think. So what about the wedding catering? Well, we took very small sample bites and then decided to sneek out to visit the restaurant again. The reception coconut shrimp through, I must say, was delicious and we couldn’t pig out enough on that sweet and spicy Thai dipping sauce. So back in the restaurant we ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with cocktail sauce, Gorgonzola sweet potato fries, and finished with the mixed berry crisp and ice-cream(don’t bother on that last one). Overall, the first night’s dinner was really good. Breakfast the next morning was just the usual hot and cold buffet one sees at many hotels such as this(but with some a la minute prep which I appreciated).

First, and most importantly — You can have anything from their menu and still sit in Jim’s bar! Yahooooo! Jim is fantastic, and so was my Mediterranean salad. Better yet, when I asked Jim if I could possibly swindle two glass wine glasses and an opener from him to take to our room, his response? «All things are possible.» How do you not love good food served with such sage-like customer service?!

Staying at Courtyard Marriott and TF92 does the room service. Allll good! Got the seafood chowder which has a mexican spin with chorizo and tortilla strips. I know, right? But deeeelish!!! Also had the shrimp cocktail — again a bit of Mexico with the brothy sauce instead of a thick ketchupy one. Very fresh shrimp, perfectly cooked, and avocado to boot! Yummm! The fries were garlicky and well seasoned and I didn’t have any but the chocolate cake looked like a birthday on a plate. I’d order it all again! By the way, the breakfast buffet was plenty good as well. All you can eat: bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, cereals, bagels and breads to toast, fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, plus a waffle station. What’s not to like? TF92 you gotta weird name, but you got great grub!

We have not had breakfast here, but have had dinner twice during a couple of our many stays at this Courtyard Marriott, our favorite San Diego hotel. Tonight we had the Cioppino and the seared tuna Nicoise salad. Both were outstanding and the salad was a notably generous portion. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Even the ciabatta rolls brought out before were just right; baked to be crusty and hot on delivery. Last time I recall having the salmon and remember it as being very well prepared. Since our experience seems to be very different from the other reviewers here, I am making a point of writing this favorable review. Incidentally, the bartender, Jim, has an almost cult-like following that has earned the bar top notices on TripAdvisor. This was borne out by the scene tonight at cocktail hour. The bar was a packed, roaring, happening place. He definitely has a certain charisma that epitomizes what a great bartender should be.

I am writing this from memory in response to the two previous reviews. I and a friend stayed over night at the Marriott and went to the breakfast bar at 2592. This was on Labor Day weekend 2011 Sunday morning and we were literally the first people there when it opened. The spread was very nice for a Hotel buffet, many types of meats and scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruits, cereal, breads, and a full omelet station. The waitress was excellent and the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I’d eat brunch here any day, so I can definitely recommend it!

Ribeye steak was weak. Very thin and not even sure it was a ribeye. But breakfast bar was very good. Nice wait staff.

This is the on-site restaurant of the Courtyard by Marriottt at Liberty Station. We only stayed here one night and the hotel itself was good. The TWENTYFIVE/92 Restaurant on the other hand is NOT good. We stopped in for the breakfast buffet in the morning. The restaurant was busy, but not completely filled. We sat down at an open table as instructed by the ‘seat yourself’ sign and waited. and waited. and waited… Meanwhile couples and groups coming in after us were being immediately greeted and served. After about 15+ minutes of the three wait staff walking by and ignoring us, we physically got in front of one and stopped him. We asked for juice and coffee. He filled one glass and we had to stop him from leaving in order to fill the other glass. He did eventually bring coffee, but just two single cups not the carafe every other table got. The food itself was okay for a hotel breakfast buffet. The egg/omelet station guy was quick and good, making up for anything else that was missing. Getting a check was another 15+ minute wait to finally get one of the wait staff to stop. Then they acted like we were inconveniencing them to ask for the check. Honestly, they were just rude, inattentive and unprofessional. The hotel is nice, but the restaurant wait staff is the pits. I’d stay there again but avoid the restaurant.
