A-Ok in my book. The drink selection is not bad, if a bit overpriced, but definitely not bad. I didn’t get to try the happy hour specials, but those looked to give you more bang for your buck than the late night prices. It simply irritated me late at night how much I had to fight to keep my chair at a table with friends and ward off drunken idiots coming off the dance floor. I would have liked to enjoy a nice conversation here, but it appears that I went to the wrong place. It is a trendy place to drink, but turned out to not be my cup of tea.

Amazing! I came here on a Thursday night! there was a long line but people went inside very fast. It was about 11ish that the line became to be long before that time there was no line. There was no cover charge so that was awesome. once being inside it was crowded. surprisingly we got out drinks really fast. they have shot specials like the fireball shot for $ 5. they have quite a few tables which is cool to mingle and chill with friends. they also have chairs surrounding the bar area as well. the cool thing about this place is that they have a mini dance floor. the DJ plays awesome music. Had everything ranging from old school rap to the new music now in days. the environment there is so awesome that i will definitely be coming back, i had so much fun.

If you get in there early, it is a quite divey place. However, later on it gets a little more crowded and loud. Happy hour drinks are $ 5 for signature cocktails and the bartender is friendly and has a lot of good recommendations for good drinks! Definitely a must go back for me :)

Thanks for a great start to the weekend, Office staff… Had a custom built LEMONDROPMARTINI that knoocked my socks off. Good tunes playing and nice co-drinkers to share the bar with… Bartender James is a true Bar Maestro.

Two days later and I still have a sore neck and my voice hasn’t come back all the way. First time at ‘The Office’ and I haven’t had such a good time at a bar in forever. I can’t thank you guys enough. I was out in North Park with some friends and they asked if I’d ever been here before. I hadn’t, and so they said lets go! I waited in line for about 10 minutes, maybe less. It was around 11pm.(I don’t think there was a cover charge. Honestly, I don’t remember haha). I was excited because the music inside all sounded familiar. Come to find out, they were doing an ‘emo night’ where they played all the alt/rock songs I used to listen to way back in 04 – 08(Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Yellowcard, Brand New, Paramore, etc.). Wow! Everyone was up at the front singing along, jumping around, having such a good time. So much good music, I couldn’t stop singing!!! :D I had already been drinking before I got here but I opened a tab. I bought my first drink(PBRTALL) and was sippin on that while up at the front. Everyone there was really cool and funny story: a girl bought ME a drink after her friend had asked me to interrupt some guy that was trying to hit on her and she didn’t like. LOL! I saved the day: p I must’ve only bought the tall can because when I checked my statement the next morning, i was only charged $ 4!!! I swear I drank way more than that haha The place itself is pretty chill. Dance floor was super crowded but not big by most standards. Booths/Tables lined the wall and smaller tables in the middle. I’m not sure how often they have these types of events but again, I seriously had the best time ever here. Great first impression! I’m almost scared to go back because it won’t be as good but I’ll keep my fingers crossed, and leave it at 5 stars until then. To ‘The Office’… thanks for a great night to –kind of– remember ;p

This place is fun. First time there and I went with some girl friends. They have two great happy hours and we were there for the second. From 7−9pm they have $ 5 signature cocktails. Now I’m super picky about my cocktails and unfortunately I didn’t recognize anything that I might like on their cocktail menu. Fortunately my friends and I all got something different for our drinks and I was able to try lots of them to see if there was on I really liked. The 1st one I had was the Black Monday which is a cherry and cola flavored cocktail. That was a little too sweet for me but it was good. It’s one where you don’t taste the alcohol so it goes down really fast. My friends had the rainmaker and the lobbyist neither of which I liked very much but they did. Our second round had better drinks for us all. Two of my friends really loved my Black Monday and they had that, my other friend had the Paloma Flora, which was really good and I thought it was similar to a gin and cranberry, and I had the Fringe Benefits. It was so good. The whiskey was very strong and prevalent with a nice almost spicy bite to it. The only thing I have to say bad about this place is it was just a touch louder than I wanted for the mood I was in and they don’t serve food. I would have loved it if they just had a small plates menu. Either way this place is good and I would go back.

Last night I chose The Office over other bars in North Park because I like that they have a decent amount of seating(booths, tables, bar stools) and around 9pm you could still find a spot to chill, talk, and enjoy your drink before the alcohol starts encouraging you to dance. That brings me to the most important reason I went to The Office: I like that they have a decent dance floor and DJ. So does True North Tavern, but the music there sucks. And I thought the music at The Office was better, but last night they proved me wrong. I could not believe that through three DJs all of them kept playing songs from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. They played one Justin Bieber song, and I am not a JB fan but when the song came on I was so happy to hear something from this decade. I started to wonder if the music at The Office was my punishment for something bad I did in my life. Yes they have good beer, but this is San Diego, good beer is easy to find. They had one bartender who couldn’t even acknowledge us to say«be right with you» after we were standing at the bar for 10 minutes, and then another one gave us quick service but couldn’t be bothered to shake our drinks so they didn’t taste as good as the first ones. I didn’t come here because it’s a «great bar.» For me, the appeal of this place was that it had the good, decently-priced drinks you usually find in North Park with the turn up potential of Downtown on a much smaller scale. However, I’m not going to pay to get into a bar where the music is so bad it sobers me up real quick and has me running out of there by 11pm.

I love The Office. You get what you pay for and what the place is… if you are expecting something else, maybe you should go… ummm… somewhere else. It is a dive bar with a DJ or band on some nights. It isn’t the Gaslamp. If you make jokes or act dumb prior to entering, the door staff will likely not let you in. That makes sense. If you want to go inside a business, adhere to their standards and enjoy. Do not complain on Unilocal after you act like a fool and expect a different result than you deserve. Here is my only issue with The Office: the place is just not designed well at all. The bathrooms are are on the back side of the bar and you have to go through the dance floor to get there. That creates a huge bottleneck of people on the dance floor and around it. Also, I would be more selective with who you let in and get people to leave if they are acting up. It is obvious many people go here to dance after getting trashed at other bars. There are always drunk people scattered about. Get them out and clean the place up.

Stopped by to check out their happy hour. Half off their speciality drinks. The drinks were strong and delicious. The bartender was friendly and fast. Love lovveeeee the 80s music they place. They only complaint I have is they don’t allow you have two drinks at once only one at a time. Kinda weird… otherwise overall a good stop for happy hour!

«It’s a business doing pleasure with you» is the slogan of The Office Bar. The theme of the bar is something right out of Mad Men. Office has made a pretty big shift in the last few months, redoing the front of their location to be more open(and less dark and closed off) and currently offers live entertainment most nights. This seems to have panned out well for them, as what used to be a pretty quiet spot most nights has become a destination in North Park. Recently, the entertainment is a DJ most evenings, but they have live music and trivia on other nights. PROPS: Solid list of NIGHTLY drink specials, and good beers on draft and in bottles, and no cover for nightly entertainment. SLOPS: It gets pretty crowded in here pretty quickly. Expect a line, if there’s something awesome happening here on the night you want to visit The Office.

Small, stuffy obnoxious people. So over crowded you are constantly elbowing people to walk an inch away. No thanks. I hate people touching me. Back up beeches. I’ll elbow you in the gut!

I mean the Office Bar is cool, but the bartender had a big ass chip on her shoulder. I stopped by last Friday… well I tried to stop in at 4 when they are supposed to open but no luck. So I started out at Tornado instead. After my first drink, The Office still wasn’t open so I went to Mike Hess brewing. Finally when I walked back from Mike Hess they were open. Sorry that there was no one else in the place but Miss Thang didn’t have to give me an attitude when I’m ordering my drink. The service from that broad deserved a 1. I’m giving them a 3 because I’ve been in on other occasions and they play some good music and also have a good happy hour.

They had about 5 guys standing out front acting like bouncers on a Monday night with a strict $ 5 cover charge to get inside. Well I looked inside and it was super lame and the music was like heavy metal awful. Either for your wallet, your dignity, pride, or just out of principle do not go to the Office. But the guys were really nice regardless.

Place is aight. Their all week happy hour is nice though. The beers are half off during their 1st happy hour and their signature cocktails are $ 5 during the 2nd happy hour. I probably wouldn’t come here other than those times. Not a bad time though.

Solid spot. Come here, come early. The specials are good and James is a solid bartender. You need it, he has it. DJ on throwback Thursday’s drops nothing but hits. Currently dropping some too short followed up by 2 chainz… Can’t complain.

This place has always been trivial to me, good nights and bad nights. However, I absolutely cannot stand their security. I understand being stern with large groups of intoxicated people but for the most part(really the whole part) is their attitudes and how belittling they can be towards everyone including the civil human beings and the like. I work in North Park and the community really prides on looking out for each other in any way they can, yet this place seems to come from a place all on it’s own. Basically they shitted on the fact that I contribute to the neighborhood. A disgusting representation of a neighborhood bar.

Cool spot. Kinda neat inside with old school — yet incredibly sexist — wall art and such. It had the ‘Mad Men’ vibe going on with some drinks referring to the show. The bartender was cool, full bar, beer wine, etc. They have a decent happy hour. I will go back again!

Tried going here last night with my husband and a friend only to be turned away when my husband was joking with the bouncer at the door who was checking IDs. He’s 24 and he was playing around with the bouncer saying he was underage but when he got his ID checked, the bouncer was like«Why are you playing with me?», in a non serious way. We were about to walk in when he stopped my husband asking him if he’s sneaking anything inside because he was holding his button up top. Again, my husbands a jokester so he said yeah I’m sneaking in a bottle of grey goose. The bouncer didn’t take that too well and said since you keep playing, you can’t come in. Side note: Grey Goose is way too big to even sneak in like that! If I wanted to sneak something in, I’d put it in my purse!(which they didn’t even bother checking btw) Uh, what the actual fuck? That bouncer had a major fucking dildo up his ass or something. Fuck him and fuck this place. I normally don’t make reviews like this at all but this was necessary. I’m never giving this place my business. There’s so many other bars in North Park that are way better anyway. This was not a loss on my part. PS. Just in the case the owners reply back, of course shit popped off after that dickhead turned us down. Wouldn’t you be upset if you got turned away for only harmless joking?

If you’re looking for a blast from the past cocktail lounge without the dated ambience, the office bar is your spot. Not really my thing because I no longer drink cocktails, but they had a decent beer selection on draft, a necessity for San Diego. The bar was a little dark and loud for my tastes on a Wednesday evening, but once again, this isn’t my cup of tea. If you are looking for that love connection without talking, I’d definitely try here. Anyone who’s single and bellying up to this bar has good taste and can take you out to a nice date. Keep in mind this isn’t a family bar. Don’t expect to bring your stroller with you if it’s early enough. They check ID’s at the door. Once again, I wouldn’t worry so much about my feeling about it, but this is a fantastic venue for those who enjoy the swanky dark cocktail lounges of old with a refresh for the new generation.
