San Diego Chicken! oh the their Killer BLT I use to come here at least twice a week when i was living in san diego. Their sandwiches are to die for. I think about their san diego chicken from time to time. The lunches come in a brown bag and a chocolate chip cookie. MMMMMMM The wait isnt bad, their staff are super friendly and their food, you cant go wrong for lunch. Hands down to one of my all time favorites!

This place is pretty good! The service is very friendly and they treated me with a free cookie! I had the BLTA and my boyfriend had the philly cheese. The philly cheese was pretty mediocre and the BLTA was bigger than I thought it would be. It wouldn’t have hurt to add a little more bacon, but it was pretty filling with a bag of chips. I’d be willing to come back to try some of the other sandwiches they have, but the place seems pretty average considering the amount of delis and lunch places in the area.

I LOVE their sandwiches! Yes, they do take a long time to make, but their sandwiches come out very tasty and delicious at the end. I’ve tried the beefy bagger and the turkey grinder, both very delicious! I intend on going back to try the rest of their menu. The only downfall about this place is that it’s only open during the weekdays until 2:30pm. I work in Hillcrest so it’s a bit difficult to drive up to Miramar and back down while finding parking and having enough time to eat.

I have tried this location and the point loma location! Fantastic sandwiches at a very reasonable price for a high quality sandwich! Tried the cheesesteak sandwiches and the gourmet bagger! Both were excellent! All sandwiches come with a complimentary cookie and hard candy! Cookies are made to perfection as well! A nice tasty treat after a great sandwich!

People are giving this place 4 and 5 stars because of the free cookie?!? For the first time in a long time I was satisfied with one of their sandwiches. Luckily for The Gourmet Bagger I’m writing my review now, not based from the previous ten years of experience. San Diego Chicken(which I think is just a chicken cheesesteak) was a pleasant surprise. The Chicken was cooked to perfection. I know, because I watched the kid grill it for 10 minutes. The kid working the grill spent the whole time giving my chicken 100% of his attention. Maybe he was lazy and didn’t want to do anything else, in any case bravo on my food! The sandwich also included sweet peppers with gave it that extra«pop». — Fountain drink dispenser is behind the counter. — It’s not fast food. It always takes a long time. — Stop rating this 5 stars because of the free cookie.

An office favorite. My coworker went and bought us all lunch from this place and lemme tell ya; it packs not your average sandwich. This coming from a girl who does not pay for stuff she can buy in a supermarket to make herself. So def give this place a try. I didn’t actually go in to the shop myself so I couldn’t tell you about atmosphere or wait time but I can give you input on the one particular wich I ate. Mahi Mahi sandwich-very filling lunch for a girl. The buns were different, in a good way, from what I’ve ever eaten. The fish was juicy and cooked to perfection. Seven dollars is a little much for me, but then again, I didn’t pay for it. The complementary cookie and butterscotch candy at the end was icing on the sandwich though.

Was looking for a new sandwich place so I gave this a try. When I’m new to a deli, the litmus test a place must pass is how good they make a chicken salad sandwich, so that’s what I ordered. Pretty generic tasting… didn’t have that kick that some places put in their chicken salad, oh yeah… and did I mention I found a bone in the my chicken salad sandwich that I almost broke my tooth on? Ordered some potato salad… it was so bland, I had to ask them for some extra mayo packets to mix into it. Pretty much no chip selection. Also, the place’s décor tells you that it probably used to be a Mexican restaurant but this deli was too cheap to redecorate when they took over the space. Wouldn’t really recommend this place based on this experience.

Yum Delish! This place has THE best sandwiches hands down! My fav is the California BLT(which isn’t on their menu anymore, but I still order it.) But you really can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches. If you work right around the Miramar area, I would suggest that you either call ahead to pick up your order or have it delivered to you because they solid busy through the lunch hours. And if you need something sweet after lunch, don’t worry. They give you one of their fantabulos chocolate chip cookies. They’re made fresh and they are awesome! If you can’t do chocolate, they you can order a rice krispy treat that is like the size of your face. Ok maybe not THAT big, but they’re pretty huge. And if you really, really love their cookies, you can order a plate of them. So sinfully good, you won’t want to share.

I came here for a weekend lunch and used to come here all the time when I worked on Carroll Road in Mira Mesa and I have to admit, I find myself craving this place rather often! I didn’t think much of this place at first, thought I’d just come here for a sandwich and soup and got more than that once I stepped in! The prices are very reasonable, portions are great, the staff are really nice here and customer service is awesome. Don’t expect to get a lot of attention and service during lunch hours though. Otherwise, great spot for lunch!

The bagger’s solid. It gets crowded at lunchtime but only because their sandwiches are good. Can’t fault them for that. Can’t argue with a free cookie with every lunch either. Some favs are the Turkey Grinder, Chicken Cheesesteak, and Killer Club. I dropped one star because the beverages aren’t self-serve and that sometimes causes a huge backup when you ask for a refill. The cashier puts everybody on hold to fill your drink. If they would just let you do it yourself, things would go a lot quicker. With all of the chaos in there, I’ve learned to call ahead.

This is my ol’ reliable in the UTC area… I eat here once every 2 weeks or so… The staff is super friendly and I have yet to have a «bad» sandwich here. My favorite is the Incredible Bagger. They get«it» here… Cream Cheese on a sandwich!!! I love it! The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality… You can be out of The Bagger with Sandwich, chips and a cookie(Free — Yay!) for around $ 7 — $ 8. Only drawbacks here are that they are always busy at lunch and they close at 2:30(I think) so I cannot pick some of The Bagger’s tasty goodness for dinner… It should be a 5 out of 5 rating, but I am a snobby Sandwich Lover… Enjoy!

Gourmet Bagger is awesome lunchy food at a reasonable price. The sammiches are really flavorful and the perfect size. The soup is tasty and the salads are pretty chompalicious as well. It’s really great that no matter what your diet is, you can find something that you’ll love at the GB. Veggie: check. Fishes: Yup Chickens: Indeed Beef: For sure. Our office is nutso about getting this place delivered for lunch and I’ve never heard anyone make a complaint without being a picky a-hole. Everything is fresh, generous portions without being crazy huge, and fast. If you can’t find something that looks good to you on their diverse menu, you can build your own sammich too! The bread they use isn’t quite what I’d call exotic but it’s something a little different and it’s always done right. Grilled sourdough, french rolls, whole grain, the works. All of it is nice. Just when you thought you were good to go with a delicious sandwich for lunch, BAM! they sneak a cookie the bag when you’re not looking. Lunch and a small desert? Hell yeah.

First off. Confession time. I worked here for a summer during high school. No kidding. And I *still* love it. The soup really is fantastic, the sandwiches really are fantastic, and oh my goodness if you don’t have a cookie, shame on you! I highly recommend the cheesesteak sandwiches, and this other one with turkey, avocado on squaw! Also, the harvest burger, kid you not, is good, too(I am not a big veggie burger fan, either!) A hidden, delicious gem!

Gourmet Bagger I see you everyday. For the last 5 years I have seen your delivery person come to our work and delivery us many lunches. I have gone through my sickness of our food because how many times can you eat the the same meals? But, I keep on coming back and ordering lunches — why??? Because of the dern chocolate chip cookie you put in everyone of the lunches you delivery. I love them! Today, we finally just ordered a plate of cookies and milk! (I wish you would still made those brownies that you had a couple years ago)

awww. Wheres the pizaaz?! I just didnt get it Unilocalers… wasnt feelin it… didnt taste it. The goodS: decent seating, good décor, friendly service, fresh ingredients, good portions The badZ: none The honest truth is … this is a downright, plain and simple, straight up… OKAY … sandwich shop. upon entering, the décor was very welcoming. It was a modern, salsa derivation with variegated seats and tables. It creates a good atmosphere to escape from the monotoned office and/or cubicle from which I dwell. I went with the«The Sandiego Chicken» — on the reccomendation of the girl working the register of coarse. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to prepare, I assume because the chicken takes time to grill, and my iconical brown bagged sandwich was handed to me in person with the little cookie inside to compliment my meal. I ate it back at the office, suprisingly it held well. It was warm, and the cheese was melted just right. The peppers and tomatoes were fresh. The bread was no selling point, but it wasnt bad at all. The whole time I was eating the sandwich, I was monologing inside my head«any moment… any moment, the wow! is gunna hit me… any moment… was that it!!? … no… still the same sandwich.» Unfortunately… before I could conclude the crescendo of anticipation, I was done eating… left with the feeling of wanting. Where was the pizaaz? Where was the wow factor? Bottom line: alright place to grab some grub, but i wouldnt seek it out. If you find yourself with a thunder in your stomach and the gourmet bagger is between you and complete, salivating, coma, satisfaction… then by all means order up, but keep in mind there’s better places out there. Sorry bagger… gotta tell it like it is.

As many of you know by now… the Jailbird gets hungry(often) — and my buddy Warren was kind enough to get me lunch. Panera Bread or The Gourmet Bagger??? Haven’t had Gourmet Bagger yet, so that was our choice. I’m not that picky(okay I am), but anything with avocado would work for me. I don’t recall what sammich Warren ate, but I had the«Down to Earth Bagger»(cucumber, avocado, tomatoes, sprouts, lettuce, cream cheese, mayo, swiss and american cheese on whole wheat bread) and it was DEE-LISH! ! ! It was sweet that it came with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and kettle chips(which are my fave kinda chips). I am one VERYSTUFFED jailbird. Thank you Warren and the Gourmet Bagger! You saved me from the sludge they serve in this joint :D

I’m totally befuddled that I have not yet written a review of this place. I think I’ve eaten every single one of their veggie, chicken or turkey-based sandwiches at least twice. The Gourmet Bagger is my very favorite sandwich place in the whole world. Well, wait a minute, that isn’t true. There are a few in New York City that just can’t be beat, but you catch my drift… it’s good. I love the Turkey Grinder(holy Moses, those sweet peppers are FANTASTIC!), the Harvest Burger(veggie), the San Diego Chicken sandwich and the Down-to-Earth Bagger, a veggie concoction of wonderfully delicious proportions. You also get a free chocolate chip cookie with every sandwich, as well as dine-in, pick-up or delivery options(for an extra dollar). I love the Gourmet Bagger not just for its awesome sandwiches, but also for a staff full of super nice, laid-back folks. They absolutely never disappoint!

One of the best unknown places to eat near the Golden Triangle. Their sandwiches are all consistently great. You really can’t go wrong with anything, and beware, if you order the Turkey Day Any Day, you will crave it daily, hell, i’d run over my mother for one right now. Killer Klub, Bagger Cheesesteak, and Turkey Grinder are some of my favorites, defiantly worth a try.
