Great coffee! Lori is super sweet and will give you recommendations. I had a Dirty Iced Chai latte, it was sweet and refreshing!

I was on Unilocal trying to see what is around me and I found this place. I had checked this place out on Instagram a while back and totally forgot about it until I moved back into the area. The owner is super nice and helpful. The cookies and caramel frap are delicious!

Great cozy garden spot in the middle of City Heights. Grab and go… Or stay and enjoy the organic garden. Please support local businesses!!! We need more places like this in City Heights!

I was in San Diego recently and the folks I was visiting needed to go to the nursery so I tagged along. Seeing as I live 500 miles north of there I was not shopping for plants. There was a small coffee house at the nursery and I ordered a smoothie. I chatted with the owner, Lori as I looked around her shop. She was very nice and well informed about coffees. Very nice items and mostly made by her. This was a real surprise to find at a nursery. I’ll go back on my next San Diego trip.

Best coffee ever! And yummy snacks too! Then… I take my coffee over to the chicken coop and chat with the chickens! Beautiful place to enjoy a cup and relax among the goats, turkeys, chickens, house and paradise of foliage and vegetation.

Recently having moved to a new neighborhood within San Diego, I wondered which popular chain café would be providing my daily caffeine fix. Imagine my surprise when I came across a more charming, local alternative, that was within walking distance to my new place.
I love Sunflower Coffee Company, owned by barista Lori Stahl. The place is super-​cute and its ensconced in a fabulous garden oasis, a little break from the urban craziness.
Within a few visits, Ms. Lori knew me and my order by heart. And while I’m an espresso-​only kind of gal, my significant other enjoys the coffee. It’s a special (organic) blend that you won’t find anywhere else and it strikes the perfect note between subtle and bold — no bitterness here.
Speaking of espresso, Lori really knows her stuff, and she grinds the beans to order so they are just right for any weather… yes espresso beans are affected by such things as temperature and humidity.
So grab a drink, hot or cold, and enjoy your favorite beverage within the tranquil surroundings of the City Farmer’s Nursery.

My husband and I have had several lovely experiences here on trips to City Farmers to re: up on plants and things. She is very friendly and personable and the coffee is delicious! We’re coming down to buy some chicks, so we’ll see you soon!

A hidden oasis in an unexpected part of San Diego.
I came here to meet for a business chat and after a brief sit right by the coffee stand, we decided to walk around the grounds. Best decision I have made in awhile!
While enjoying your beverage you can walk around and see animals, coy ponds, fish, tanks, creeks, and every plant/​veggie/​fruit/​herb plant ever discovered.
The Barista, Ms. Lori, was the sweetest lady and made an amazing strawberry/​mango iced tea… Shaken, not blended.
Whether you are looking for a new place to work (wifi coming soon!), a new place to eat lunch or just looking for a nature break from the city… then this is a must experience!
DOG FRIENDLY!!! Best coffee and tea place I have been to in San Diego. Definitely the most unique. I challenge you to find a better coffee and tea oasis that close to downtown San Diego.

Farmer Bill doesn’t just grow plants, he grows businesses. Sunflower Coffee Company is a happy little coffee cart owned by Lori Stahl nestled inside the entrance of City Farmer’s Nursery. Her business cards describes the offerings: «Hand-​crafted Espresso/​Coffee/​Tea Drinks and Baked Goos… Fresh Organic– Fair Trade Selections.»
There is not an extensive list of offerings, but what she does is just right, especially if you’re in need of a caffeine hit and/​or want to stroll around the nursery with a hot beverage on a cloudy day. I’ve had a few wonderful cups of tea there, and her terrific chocolate chip cookies.
