Ok I don’t really like how you order upfront… seems like it would be better as full service but besides that the food was amazing! So fresh and delicious! I do love the cute décor and there was a guy playing guitar while we ate… I had the sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs cooked to perfection and real freshly made biscuits… I cleaned my plate which was huge and I’m only a size 2 lol… this place is a must try… puts all those pompous bougeois places downtown to shame for sure.

Was AWESOME! Great selection of beers, has a beermosa, GREAT food, kid friendly, inside and outside seating, friendly staff and live music. Went here with a group of girlfriends and had a wonderful time. Love that it is farm to table so it’s super fresh and quality ingredients that they very right next door at the farm/farmers market. You can take the kids and go through the farm. We didn’t go through because it was later. But, I think that’s totally great. The burgers and chicken are actually bbqed there outside. Must go with the family, friends, co workers or all of the above.

Neat restaurant inside and out… Had Pulled Pork… rates up there with the BESTEVER… BLT very good two problems… 1) Limeaid was $ 3 for a 6oz size!!! …way way over priced… disappointing 2) Got mine to go and they forgot the sides… disappointing

Love this place. It’s in my neighborhood, the food is tasty and good quality. The folks are friendly and embody the tone of the place. Farmer Bill is often there; its on the property of City Farmers, so you can eat and buy plants or feed!

When we got here we were expecting good service and good food but it took 45 minutes just to get one biscuit and a tiny cup of jam. Sadly we didn’t get our money back but the food was ok, just the food wasn’t worth 45 minutes. Last the service sucks and management is piss poor no leadership. Don’t waste your time!!!’

50 min for 1 plate of food which got cold by the time the rest came out. No apologies or any type of customer services.

I have only visited Nates three times. I have only had the Crab Eggs Benedict and a beer each time. I feel no shame from not eating everything on the menu as the Benedict is better than any other restaurant I have tried. Just visit before 2, get the Benedict and live your life better than before.

This place is good, I would recommend getting the mac and cheese. My dad got it and it was great. Really cool surroundings, they even have a small stage for bands. Kinda expensive but worth it.(I got the BBQ Burger)

We went for breakfast, but they had a minimal weekday breakfast menu, so we ended up getting lunch. We ordered the BBQ pulled pork, the vegetarian burger & the Mac & cheese. All were pretty good after a dash of salt & pepper perked it up a bit. Our server was extremely helpful & recommended a beer by boyfriend loved. I took off one star for the lack of weekday friend options, but will definitely return for weekend brunch. The mood there was very casual & laid back. We enjoyed the blue music playing in the background. If you are in the area, check out Nates Garden Grill(and the nursery next door)

Thanks to you all, I knew what to do when I arrived here. Similar to Tender Greens in the sense that you walk up and order. They’ll give you a number and bring over your food once it’s ready. To the right of the register like others say are napkins, straws, etc. I personally fancied that the straws were eco-friendly and made of plants. I decided to be tarty for the party and order the housemade limeade. You’re destined to pucker up on this one folks. I found it to be perfect however, after adding 2 sugar in the raw and 1 stevia packet. I also ordered salmon tacos(comes with 3). This was good and the salsa on top was full of flavor. Recommended, but not highly. My brother ordered Carnitas Tacos. If you’re a pork fan, it seems this is the way to go. It was topped with some sort of carmelized green chiles and onions that complimented well. My mom ordered the BBQ burger with chips instead of potato salad. Came on a soft pretzel bun, but needed a bit more BBQ sauce on the side. Great after that. The walk through the garden was cool until I started smelling poop.(Just being honest) I guess I prefer the table part of the whole farm-to-table experience. Really neat to see all the fresh herbs and veggies though. We sat on the patio and it was loud due to a group of well deserved teachers dining during happy hour(which doesn’t exist here by the way) and escaping kiddos for Thanksgiving break. Overall, it’s worth stopping by here at least once. It’s very rustic if that’s your thing. Super casual and far from chic.

This place is so fun. Cozy and quaint right next door to the garden nursery. I’ve been here twice so far and both times the food was great. First time I came here I had the biscuits and mushroom gravy — delicious! Yesterday, my boyfriend and I came for a late lunch. I ordered the vegan reuben with vegan potato salad and an extra side of pickles, and my fiancé ordered the bratwurst with a side of chips. I was quite satisfied with my sandwich and potato salad! It was SO good. If I had one critique, it may just be that the bread on my sandwich was a wee bit too buttery for my liking, but it was toasted to perfection. We also had a sangria and an IPA with our lunch. This place is awesome and smack dab on Euclid Avenue. The nursery is a great place to visit and walk around after you eat at the grill, which has a quaint farm feel to it. I highly suggest checking this place out if you’re in the area, but it’s definitely worth the drive if you’re not around Euclid.

I have come here twice for company meetings and am really impressed by the quality of food here! I have had the BLT which is amazing and very flavorful. The employees are very nice and personable. Definitely a great place to come! No better way to walk off the food by checking out the nursery next door!

We were visiting dealers in the area and would never have found Nate’s without Unilocal help! What quirky cool place centered inside the wonderfully beautiful and eclectic City Farmer’s Nursery. We even parked in the nursery’s gravel lot. You order your food first and they give you a number. Then You seat yourself, They have indoor and outdoor seating we hose the outside patio It was cool. I had a glass of their Lime aid and Jaime had the homemade root beer. meh on both. For lunch I had their BLT, The BOMB! it had yummy house-cured bacon excellent bacon too., bibb lettuce, tomato, lemon aioli, and grilled on large sourdough bread. This sandwich was well laid out and didn’t squeeze out the sides like some hot/cold sandwiches do. Jaime had the BBQ Chicken sandwich with smoked chicken, Swiss cheese, organic kale slaw, house BBQ sauce, on a pretzel bun he said it was it very good and the chicken was moist and tender . This is the place to go when you want feel in the country«down home cookin people»… but you are still in the«city»!. great concept and well decorated. good find!

Pretty cool hole in the wall kind of place. I lived in the area forever and never knew this place existed until we randomly wandered on it through Unilocal. This place gets really packed during the weekend brunch. They have their own parking lot, but its all gravel, rocks and dirt. Plus its pretty tight getting in and out. Probably better if you find street parking if you have a large vehicle or don’t want to get your car dirty. You order your food first and they give you a number. Then You seat yourself. They have indoor and outdoor seating. But it’s super hot where ever you sit. There’s only fans on the inside. No ventilation or air conditioning which sucks. The restaurant on the inside looks like an old country style kind of urban home/restaurant. The first table on the inside on the right has these couches with a short long table and a bunch of funky miniature chairs, the size for children. It’s kind of dark and gloomy on the inside, but bright and lively on the inside. Plus there’s live music playing every day with different artists during the week which is pretty cool. The bathroom is SUPER dark. I can barely see what im doing and its creepy being that dark. And I do have to mention that it takes a suuuuper long time getting your food because they’re probably understaffed. I saw one table of four people, only two got their food, and by the time those two were done eating, they barely brought out the other two plates. FOOD: Crab Cake Benedict $ 12 This was a delicious plate. The cakes were made with real shredded crab meat. It tasted pretty fresh and not fishy. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked with the egg yolk beautifully oozing out when punctured. The biscuits were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And their oven roasted mashed potatoes were delicious! Breakfast Plate $ 8.50 Very simple dish. Eggs, house cured bacon, roasted mashed potatoes, grilled sour dough. The bacon was delicious. Crispy and nice portion size of meat compared to fat. Granola, Fruit & Almond Milk $ 6 Another simple dish but it was so refreshing and delicious. The granola was sweet and complimented the milk and the blackberries. The blackberries were very fresh and fat and juicy. Overall, they could use some real improvement on the establishment itself and the timing of the service, their food is good.

I didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant but I did check it out for a future visit. It has both inside and outside dining. It has a rustic laid back atmosphere and the tables and chairs looked old, worn and mix matched. It didn’t have fancy paintings or fancy anything for that matter. But, it felt very welcoming. The hostess/waitress was friendly and cheerful. It was quiet and peaceful and the folks eating seemed relaxed and comfortable. The menu board had several selection of beers, and sandwiches but I will have to go back to get more details. This restaurant is located right next door just a few steps away from the«City Farmers Nursery.»

Nate’s is one of the best places to go for a lunch away from work or a weekend brunch. My favorite lunch item is their Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich. It comes with pesto aioli, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, and avocado on sour dough bread. The chicken is really tender and the flavored mix very well. My favorite brunch item is their Pulled Pork Hash. It is served on a cast iron pan and comes with seasonal vegetables and poached eggs. This is my favorite dish here. They also serve beer but I have never had it here. It is a great set up but their are some issues because it is next to a garden/nursery. Sometimes there can be a bit too many flies on the patio area. I think that this is one of the best restaurants in San Diego to just sit, relax, and enjoy your food.

Adorable and Wes Andersony, this is a cool place. The food is tasty, your canine is not only tolerated but embraced, and they even have live music in the eves. Next door is a ½ acre farm store. You can pick up your plants and planting acoutrement. Tip: they don’t accept Amex cards

HOMEMADEBEER! ROOTBEER that is! Root beer is like a childhood memory. They have real beer too, local and some throwback beers(for those who can’t remember or those who still drink them)! Wine is available also. My friends and I generally go for breakfast. This is the place go when you want to be in the«country» but you are still in the«city»!. Most of the ingredients are fresh and local and quite good. My favorite is the breakfast potatoes! It’s the technique they use. Soft on the inside and crisp on the outside which is the way I like them! There is not a lot of seating or parking, but if you get there early you will not have a problem. Being a dog person I love that you can bring your dog, my dog likes this too! Afterwards you can pick up what you need at the City Farmers Nursery. PS My friends like the biscuits and jam!

This place has such a great vibe to it! It’s kinda hidden, and easy to miss. The décor and setting of the place is just one of the things I really enjoyed about this place. I took my girlfriend here yesterday for Valentine’s Day, and they happen to have live music by a group called Bossa lounge project that played some amazing samba contemporary Brazilian music. I had ordered the bratwurst sausage, and I picked the potato salad as my side, and it was amazing! The bun was nicely toasted, and the taste itself was full of flavor. My girlfriend ordered the carnitas tacos, and she said they had more of a barbecue taste to it, but very good. They also had an interesting selection of craft beer. If I remember correctly I had a pale ale beer, which went well with the bratwurst.
